Went to the annual Dept. 56 event, which we have attended regularly over the years. Our family was extremely disappointed with the lack of the 'party' atmosphere which is a big part of the event. Lack of beverages.very little 'nosh' for the amount of people attending.no door prizes as previous years.as well as the overall setup. We left after half an hour and noticed quite a few other people also leaving early! What happened?
Big letdown!

Always a beautiful greenhouse, even in the "off season" went to get some garden moms for fall colors and we're not disappointed

Had an idea of what I thought I wanted or needed, based on my extensive Google education.

After a 5 minute conversation with the experts here, it turned out they suggested I do nothing and nature will take care of everything.

That's great customer service, when they will tell you what you need to hear rather than make a sale.

Overpriced. They charge min 25-40% more for retail products (not plants) than other retailers in town and they do not price match. See how long they survive in this economy. Young sales staff don’t care enough to try and make a sale.just wanted me off the phone.

Plants appear in good condition and are probably worth the increased price. But it’s besides me how a company will not price match on retail supplies… I’d rather spend locally… but will not over spend

Excellent assortment of tropical plants that are healthy and vibrant! I've bought several different tropical plants from Green gate on different occasions and they are all thriving. I've bought tropical plants from other shops and the plants are not as healthy and haven't done as well
Everyone seems happy to work there and it shows in the healthy foliage!

Nice place for your gardening needs. Very good selection of plants and flowers. Customer service is wonderful and they are very knowledgeable people. You can also find ornaments for your patio.

Best garden store in this area and nice plant selection but it’s a little expensive for plants. Product selection is very convenient though.

Plants, trees and shrubs are next level here comparing to big-name stores. Bit pricy but worth every penny!

This is our go to garden centre for all things plant related! The staff are always very friendly and the prices are reasonable. There is always someone around who offers to help. Diverse plant selection.

Green Gate Garden Center is amazing. There is so much variety and so many different things to choose from. I highly recommend this store. The green house is also pretty amazing aswell as the trees.

Wonderful garden centre with great selection and lots of helpful staff. The quality is far better than any of the big-box garden centers.

I was very happy with the pleasant servers out on the floor. Thank you. However, at the cash, I asked if there were any deals as a result of the numbers of four inch pots I purchased. One young lady said, "Every Tuesday we have Seniors' Day and you would get a percentage off. I said to the two young ladies, "I'm spending almost $200.00 here and I do once every year. " The one said, "Maybe you'll remember something you forgot and you can come back next Tuesday. " Are you kidding me? Huh?

Post Script: The owner's response reminds me of other unhelpful responses such as, "I'm sorry that you feel disappointed" instead of "We might have offered you the senior's discount on the one visit you make each year to buy all of your perennials and bedding out plants. Please bring in your receipt and we'll give you the 10% off. "

I can not be called a gardener. But with the assistance of the very helpful staff, I was able to find what I needed.
It was especially impressive as I was there on the hectic may long weekend.

Very nice garden center. Maybe the nicest in Calgary. There is a great selection of plants and trees. They also sell many accessories. Very nice store but definitely more expensive for your plants than others. There is lots of free parking.

My parents described it as the best and biggest garden centre they've ever seen. You could spend hours here. Helpful staff, a large selection and all well maintained.

Really amazing selection here. There are so many roses, shrubs, and bushes. They even have multiple types of hops and ivy. Love the grass seed selection and the option for micro-clover.

My Hope for Humanity Rose lasted 15 years before dying off. Picked up another one and fingers crossed
