5 star: Patio and fence was perfect. No issues so far. Alex arrived on time and did a magnificent job. 3 star: The back exterior door installation to use the patio. I would use another company. Wasnt my best experience with that.

Our experience with Greentree was not as positive as other reviews.

We hired Greentree in the middle of August 2022, for what they considered a couple week job, and we had no option but to tell Greentree to no longer complete their work at the end of October 2022.

Our initial designer was late to meetings, didn’t show up, or cancelled at the last minute. We contacted Greentree and they provided a different designer to continue our project.

They started our project relatively quickly after signing the contract. Shrub removal and initial lawn removal went ok, until they hit and broke our fence post with the bobcat. They did fix the fence, but installed it out of alignment with the other posts, requiring additional work to fix the issue. The fence boards no longer match original, as they used a different wood, and the hinges are not installed plum resulting in the gate creaking when opened. They also hit the underground cable line with the bobcat as well, although it wasn’t located, it was visible on the outside of the house.

We asked for our precast concrete step to be refinished using tanzite stone deck. Initial installation resulted in large gaps between tiles and tiles draining towards the house. They redid the tiles to fix the drainage and tile gaps only after insisting.

While moving pallets of patio stone around on the driveway, they pushed the pallet into the garage, damaging trim. We had just refinished the house months before, and with our unhappiness with the quality of workmanship of their carpenters (fence repair and tile install) we opted to have our siding installer to come and fix the damage.

While installing our front patio, the crew initially installed the base 6-8 inches too high which would not allow proper drainage in the front yard and to the side of the house. Together, we determined that a landing or step down was required. When redoing the base, they ended up installing it 3-4 inches too low, which would require a 12” step, which is not to code. There were also poor transitions from sidewalk to patio that looked terrible. This was not fixed on account of us removing them from site.

Installation of edging in the back yard had been installed 2-3 inches too high and has negatively impacted my ability to create drainage away from the house. This was not fixed on account of us removing them from site.

We asked them to relevel our rear patio, as it had settled over the past number of years. Instead of just fixing the dip as asked, Greentree excavated the whole patio to be 2-3 inches too low, which resulted in ponding and ice issues. The original crew started to fix the issue by removing about 20% of the stones. This crew didn’t come back and the patio was left in this state up to when we asked them to leave site.

Greentree had 2 additional crews come and look at the remaining work, with neither of them coming back.

Greentree didn’t install sod per the contract.

Much of our issues could have been avoided had the first crew measured elevations and took yard drainage into account. Work had started in August, and the first time elevations were measured was in October, after much of the installation was in place.

With Greentree no longer on site, I have been forced to correct their deficiencies. I’ve spent from May to mid October removing and reinstalling the front patio, grading and grass install, and removing and reinstalling our back patio. I was not able to correct our edging that was installed too high, due to timing.

If hiring Greentree, ensure they understand the drainage of your property and how your new landscaping can be installed to not negatively affect it. I would also be wary of Nick as your CM. He did not listen to our concerns about drainage nor Greentree’s workmanship. He initially pushed back on our concerns of installed tiles and to whether they caused the damage to our fence and garage, even though it was on camera.

I contracted Greentree 3 years ago to do my landscaping. Nothing complicated: just remove some existing decorative rocks, do rough grade, install some planters with plants and trees, and sod. On the surface they did a good job.

3 years later:
1.they neglected to install a plastic barrier at my fence to prevent weeds from growing in from the park next door, despite it being on the contract. I ended up doing this myself.
2. Several plants died: I reached out to make a warranty claim, but never heard back. I fixed them myself, at my expense.
3. The big one: they never removed the existing decorative rocks and landscaping fabric beneath. They literally just covered them with clay and soil. I have spent countless hours sifting the rocks out: I've removed two F150 loads so far. It's been a brutal, difficult job. I wish they'd just stolen the money instead of making this such a difficult problem to solve.

They blatantly lied to me about the decorative rock removal - even had the nerve to ask me for more money to remove them. In retrospect I wish I'd paid: feeling ripped off would've been far better than this.

Sadly, even if this place is under new management, they've lost this customer. And I'll actively steer others away from them.

Update - response to your response:
Appreciate your response, though it would be better to just let this sleeping dog lie. In response to your comments:

1. I first reached out to make a claim in Sept 2020, and then again May, 2021 to Nick. He requested that I send photos, which I did, and then never responded. In fairness, I did manage to resuscitate some, though not all, of the plants: the rest I replaced myself.

2. I wanted to address the issue with your crew burying the landscaping stones and fabric instead of removing them (as promised) when your warranty teammate followed up, but since he never did I just got on with it myself. Frankly, the mess was just so big that I didn't know how you'd ever address it. I've had to do it all by hand, as machinery would destroy the existing spruce trees. Incidentally, your crew had piled soil and mulch 6 inches up the trunks of these mature trees, nearly killing 3 of them, and killing a 4th. I'd forgotten to mention that above.

The only solution you can offer is a commitment to improve your quality control, so your company never inflicts something like this on another customer.

Our condo paid these crooks 115000 3 years ago for a new front entryway, they cut corners every way they could, when addressing concerns with their person in charge "it was easier for me to do it this way" was his answer. Their concrete work has failed miserably from day one. And they will not do anything to correct the issues. Run away. Do not use these crooks.

We found green tree through a T. V add, and consulted with their sales team regarding building a deck for my residence. Among other construction type businesses, we found green tree to be open, honest, and customer focused. We had the pleasure of working with Ryan from their sales team who put together a competitive quote, and thereafter Nick who led up our project. Overall, we would recommend green tree for their timely service and professionalism and will certainly consider them for future projects. Amina and Noorin Esmail.

We are very happy with our new deck and landscaping and would recommend Greentree Outdoor Living without hesitation. The high quality of the work performed met our expectations and all of the team members from design to implementation were friendly and professional. Any questions were promptly answered by Nick the hands on owner and his team and slight modifications to the original design were easily accommodated. We look forward to enjoying our transformed backyard.

We used Greentree to landscape our back yard and the entire process from start to finish was a pleasant experience. The designer Dylan, worked with us to create the backyard we wanted. The project manager Nick, and his team worked hard to make it a reality. They paid very close attention to detail and were available to answer any questions we had. Our backyard looks fabulous and we can now start enjoying it. I would definitely recommend Greentree for any landscape projects.

Started the process of planning and quoting the work I was hoping to get completed. However there was cross wires on where we would meet to finalize requirements for work to be done. I did try many times after to talk with this contractor but, my phone calls were never returned. Not very professional!
