Habitat Studio

As a former employee and now a owner of my own construction company, I can confidently say that Habitat Studio sets the benchmark of excellence in construction. Their process from beginning to end is industry leading and their results are some of the best. If you want the best, this is were you go.

Addition of the solar division a couple of years ago is amazing asset! Just had a Solar array installed on my house and the quality of product and service is top notch! Highly recommend!

Here is why they are great.

They build you a custom, one of a kind house that is yours. Every room. Every feature. It's yours and no one else's. You are involved with the process the entire way from start to finish. Design, budget, construction, finishing. But this isn't the real reason why they are great. They are great because 10 or 12 or 15 years later, as your house ages and needs updates, or perhaps something hasn't worked out over time as anticipated, you call them and it's the same people who built your home. They know your home. They're still happy to be there for you, the same people. Still working with you and for you. 10/10.

We elected to go with habitat after some friends used them for a reno. Our reno was extensive including an additional 400sq feet over the garage (bedroom, closets, bathroom), as well as removing a major load bearing wall in kitchen/living room and opening it all up. The three biggest aspects that they get full marks on are 1) was on time; 2) was on budget (in fact came un under despite us adding in a few additional things) ; 3) very professional. The project manager (Jason) and all the crews were excellent to work with and very professional and accommodating (never heard one complaint while they tried to work around the kids/dogs, or when I told them they had to stop working or be quiet for a few hours because I was teaching university online because of the COVID-19 situation and we had no where to go!).

We did our reno in two stages, partly to see how the first stage went and after everything going so well we quickly did the kitchen/living room reno. The project manager (Jason) was excellent to work with. He has a very critical eye and would often get crews back in to fix or modify something
- most of the time we didn't even notice there was an issue!

We are very happy with the team and the work they completed and would no have reservations about recommending them to others.

These builders took me from initial design to final construction of a custom home. Thoroughly professional; strong design team with lots of unique ideas (Norm!) and practical approach; exceptionally transparent billing. They are becoming a one-stop shop including even the landscaping and solar. It wasn't done super fast, but that's to be expected, and it was done well. "We've never built this home before" is always true for a custom home, but I think the chances of everything working out are high if you work with Habitat. Well done guys!

Habitat Studios is a company that is responsive, flexible and provides excellent customer service. Although this is the first custom house that I've had, as a company, they are one of the most responsive and transparent companies that I have worked with. In addition, I think creatively, they are above and beyond some of the other custom home builders. This is from my experience of comparing my home (and other habitat homes from friends and colleagues) to the show homes of custom builders. Since moving in, people have stolen second glances as they've walked by my house. A few things to know if you're going with Habitat. You'll need time as they're very meticulous and so it took 13 months from demo to project completion on top of 4-5 months of predesign and layout meetings. They are also extremely custom - so you have to be good at making decisions and sticking with the decision as they have to juggle all their subcontractors on different projects. And it pays to be detailed oriented because there will be lots of information to process. Overall, it was a very positive, transparent and well supported experience building my home. It does take work on the part of the customer to make decisions, communicate expectations and if you're an engaged party, you'll find the process to be very rewarding.

We initially had a very good relationship with this company. At first they provided us with a generic blueprint that we were unhappy with, but were accommodating to our wants of a unique plan. It was a modern plan that they said repeatedly could be done. We worked together for over a year on the plan/details. A YEAR! When ground was about to be broken however, they quit the job and said that they weren't able to build the house after all. This is a very deceptive company. They sent us a bill just before telling us that they would not continue with us. They took our money and left us with no house, and wasted time. They are not the company they claim to be, and certainly not worth investing your hard earned money in.

I've been fortunate enough to have seen many Habitat projects over the last seven years, working alongside them as a trade partner. Regardless of project size, type, or complexity, Habitat has always been committed delivering a top quality product to their customers. Habitat has shown unwavering commitment to quality at every stage of build, and never once looked to cut corners on critical early stages of construction that will never be seen by the future owners, but will ensure that the end product is safe, efficient, and will stand for generations.
