Finally! Fish on the menu! The fish tacos were fabulous and the pickled red onion and goat cheese made them over the top. Next, fish and chips, please. My daughter had the chicken and Brie sandwich and thought it was good, except it needed more Brie.

Came by with some out of province friends for dinner and drinks. Drinks were great, especially the infused beer however the food was subpar.
Chicken wings are small with little meat, Asian chicken wrap was soggy and over seasoned with soya sauce and the brisket sandwich was placed on a rock hard bun that was inedible. A decent place to enjoy a drink but not somewhere to enjoy dinner/food.

We went based on the recommendation of a friend. Cool looking place, lots of kids! Got sat on the patio very quickly for a Saturday afternoon which was great.
Our server was ok. He took our drink order fairly quickly but sort of forgot to come back for our food order after his return with our drinks when one of our group was in the bathroom. I tried 2 different beers and both were very tasty.l ordered the Cochrane Club and was super disappointed with the lack of chicken on it (pic attached). The tomato slice and the chicken are relatively the same thickness. The sauce on the club
was good so it helped but not worth the $18.95 I paid for it. Even more disappointing was that someone in our group ordered the Chicken, Bacon & Swiss and he got an actual chicken breast on his.
I may go back for the beer but I likely won't spend my money on their food.

The service is good but the food and it’s presentation leave a lot to be desired. Sandwiches are either stacked so high they are impossible to eat unless taken apart or they come with bread that totally falls apart. Salads are served in small bowls that make eating difficult. The stake sandwich I had last visited was more fat and gristle than meat. Add to this, there were flies buzzing around and crawling on the table that had to be constantly shewed away. Will think twice before eating there again.

Super pub, great beer brewed on site. Great menu and atmosphere. Friendly, happy staff and patrons.

Good service, very nice people around, very tasty food and of course beer!

Here for the first time but not the last. Anywhere they let my puppy have a seat at a table I'm happy to go again. Lots of drinks too choose from other than beer which was great!

We had been to Half Hitch before and loved it so much we invited friends. Service was very slow, and I personally had a very bad experience with my food. I cannot have gluten and the waitress told me the steak tacos were on corn tortillas - they came and I started eating them, and wasn’t sure if they were corn or not, so stopped eating and asked her again and she said “no, they are corn”. I asked her to check with the kitchen and she came back to advise that they were, in fact, flour. As someone who is gluten intolerant, it is so crucial that serving staff are aware of gluten-containing items. I am in tremendous pain today and clearly had I known these tortillas were flour I would never have eaten them. On top of all of this, we all wanted to order dessert but they had none left. Disappointing for sure.

Love this pub. Brought the kids for 5$ Monday dinner and they loved it! Country music on in the background, nice cozy patio, great service, great food.not my first time, won't be my last. Thanks again half hitch!

This is a nice brewery. They don't have a huge beer selection, but they have enough rotationals to satisfy. The atmosphere is calm and enjoyable, staff is exceptionally nice, and the food is good!

If you are in Cochrane, or driving through the area, this place is worth a stop. The beer here was great, and the spicy chicken appetizer was delicious! We were in a rush, and the staff made sure the food was out asap. We loved the place and will definitely be visiting again.

Brisket sandwich, sweet potato fries washed down with a Farmer's Daughter. Top notch. Great service as well.

We have been to half hitch several times. Because they are a small batch brewery, I would recommend requesting a small sample before ordering a pitcher or a pint. The flavor and hops intensity can vary.

The atmosphere is homey. Love the old sports equipment on the walls. They have improved heating on their glassed in patio and you no longer need a thermal layer below your clothes.

Food here is OK. The burgers vary, and can have a texture that approaches rubbery, depending on how much they are overcooked. The Wagu chili is excellent. Fries are always crispy! We enjoy the lettuce wraps.

The staff turnover seems fairly high and service here can also be hit and miss. Sometimes service is prompt and sometimes it is extremely indifferent and slow.
On our last visit we had someone who avoided eye contact, spoke so quickly you could hardly understand him, and came so long after the food arrived (not the quick "how is everything, and the chance to ask for hot sauce) that I thought we had better request the cheque. (Didn't want to be stuck there for another 30 minutes of no service). When he brought the card reader, he promptly picked up our plates (stacked mine on the bottom), even though we had not yet finished eating. Yes, Matthew S, you know what I am talking about. I wasn't happy that I didn't get to finish my meal.
Won't be going back there for a long while.

We decided to go off route using cochrane and cochrane town to have the famous icecream place (that was closed unfortunately) but the views were unmatched. But we made sure we had some beer breakfast brunch before we headed out.

Being surprised with the Rendition of Mr Woods' famous barn couple portrait and a quaint patio that overlooked the mountains.

Their beers matched the amazing cool weather and the views. The beers were refreshing and the staff as well. They were helpful, co-operative and wonderful.

It's a must stop place before you head towards banff from Calgary.

Mandatory 18% tip on parties of 8 or more is understandable if a server is skilled enough to juggle drink orders and food for 8+. But when 2 couples go with their 4 little kids (all 6 and under and only had fries and juice), this hardly justifies a mandatory tip. We met our friends and got surprised with the mandatory tip when the bill came. It was not posted anywhere visible that this would be the case and the server was not transparent enough to inform us beforehand.

As a customer I feel tricked into the situation. There were so many ways in which this could have been handled better. Like when I questioned if we really were a "party of 8" the server could have said he would ask the manager since we were not aware of the tip beforehand. Instead the response was "but you are. ". How about a simple friendly FYI when you seat us?

Shame on you Half Hitch - poor business ethics. I wonder if dogs on the patio or babies in mothers' bellies are also counted toward your party count?

If you like to go somewhere and wait in your car for them to text you that your table is waiting. Here is the place. No where to have a drink if you get there early, even with a reservation. Service very slow. Seating uncomfortable. Food was good but not worth the price. We would of spent way more if the service would have been better.

Attended a Christmas party at Half Hitch. The food, drinks and service were all fantastic.

Great food and beer selections. We had the nachos and added pulled-pork on top, and it was plenty for two people. The chocolate porter was excellent!
