I love this shop. Everything is well-organized and aesthetically pleasing, as well as clean. The bakery and deli are great, and the staff are helpful and friendly. Great variety and selection as well.
We don't come into Ponoka that often, but when we do, we generally end up here. The store is well organized, modern and clean. It has a nice feel and a good selection of things you don't find elsewhere, like smoked meats and a sauces. I find the prices a bit high, so I don't tend to buy everything here. Not crazy about the no carts outside thing either, but I do enjoy shopping here for specialty items. The bakery and deli in particular are hard to walk past without putting something in the cart. In all, this is a very nice grocery store on par with the modern markets you find in the city.
I have shopped local using IGA in Ponoka but twice now I get home and my groceries have mild on them. The first time was apples, cut it in half and it was brown a rotten in the inside. So today I go for grocery, the teller was an older lady with glasses and long hair (very friendly and helpful lady). I get home put my groceries away, and by this time I had thrown my receipt away that was in the brown paper bag that I bought, won’t do that again. In an hour I go to grab my bag of little potato’s and when I open it they are all moldy and when I picked it up of the counter there was a wet mark. So at 6: 30 when this happens I attempt to bring them to the groceries store in hopes I can get an exchange or a refund. But they are closed. Unfortunately that 45 minute drive to red deer that in my own experience always shows up in with quality that is going to last longer then just getting it to check is looking pretty good right about now.
Still love the layout since the reno, lots of space and the flow works really well. Very pleasant staff, and had everything I was looking for at this current shopping trip!
Love the revamped store here in Ponoka, lots of new options that the original iga did not offer, highly recommend this store especially for bbq season, I wouldn't shop anywhere else for my meats.
First and last time here. The IGA has been replaced by hammy's family. My star is for the store really nice and clean, but the prices are now really overpriced And I didn't have my own bags and didn't buy any from the cashier she told me that my cart couldn't make it outside and that I had to hand-carry my groceries into my car. I have never seen this kind of service…
I found it to be expensive. Only paper bags or reusables which I had forgotten so I got paper. But was then told you can't take the cart out of the store. So with 4 paper nags and a case of pop it was difficult to get to my vehicle with no cart. I don't think I will be back to shop here again.
I've been honestly enjoying shopping here since we moved to Ponoka a few months ago. The food is fresh and well organised, the customer service is phenomenal, and I love how most things are grown locally. The store is beautifully arranged and you constantly see staff making sure everything is perfect and people are helped which is a HUGE improvement from when we lived in Edmonton where you practically had to set out snares to catch an employee. Very well done, I'm excited to see how the expansion turns out.
It was a regular experience, with including safety regulations about social distancing, and leaving the face mask on for the safety of yourself and others.my inclining is that no matter what is going to happen in the future, or near future, with all these varients and closures, is that will the services that i.g. A.host, will they be nil and devoid of practacle suspension. I hope that this new wave is over as fast as it started.
This is my friend's sister. And we went here in the park.all day.her sister was very out going and energetic and enthusiastic to be in this part of the park. Different apetsyisise it play with.but her sister would show her how
Really a one stop shop. Fresh quality meats, full service deli and best bakery around. IGA is always our family's first choice, they even carry your groceries out for you.
