Hampton Inn & Suites By Hilton Calgary- University Northwest

Hotel is old and rundown:
- elevators are dilapidated and slow. Need key to get to the parking garage on one and not the other which is really fun after you checked out and returned your key.
- walls are paper thin. Could hear word for word the cleaning staffs conversion outside my room before 8am. Always a nice way to wakeup.
- little to poor ventilation in the bathrooms.
- Small rooms, and not worth the rate I paid.

Only high point was the staff. They are very friendly and were helpful.

Very clean property, room was nice and quiet and breakfast was hot and ready. This was our home base to visit Calgary downtown and to visit Banff and Lake Louisse. Two thumbs up for the Hampton Inn University site team.

I always loved Hampton Inn & Suites, and this location lived up to my expectations. It has underground parking, which is nice, a lovely warm pool with a fantastic waterslide and hot tub which can accommodate maybe 8 adults. And, of course, the complimentary hot breakfast lived up to expectations with everything you'd expect. The fitness room was nice but although there was a full rack of dumbbells, a weight bench was lacking, probably due to space constraints. I might suggest moving things around to accommodate one, because it wouldn't take up much space. Most importantly, the hotel is clean and quiet well situated close to Highway 1, several restaurants, and a McDonald's, all within short walking distance. I highly recommend it!

I had a great stay at the Hamptons Inn University area. Front desk lady was very helpful and kind. Room was spacious and clean.the pool and hot tub were great and the complimentary breakfast was prefect! It was also half the price of the Holiday inn next door. So you should choose Hamptons inn if you're undecided!

Extremely unclean. When I arrived, the room I was assigned had hair in several places in the bathroom and liquid spills on multiple surfaces. I was given another room and I discovered blood and snot on the bed frame. Despite reporting this, the hotel did not clean the issue and I had to go and find a helpful and friendly cleaner myself to make it right. The hotel is well located but is tired and falls well short of standards on cleanliness. I would not recommend staying here.

This hotel was rundown and the room was not clean, found dust/hair balls in the corners. Shower had little pressure. Weak Wifi. Stayed here four nights and received no room cleaning on the third day which I requested. Elevator was not working smoothly. Diamond member but received no upgrade and no complementary water, the staff was indifferent about customer service and felt condescending. Unfortunately this is the worst Hampton hotel we’ve experienced.

The rooms are spacious and clean, the whole staff are incredibly nice and polite. Everything that we needed was provided in the room, however there was no tea kettle but we just heated water in the microwave and that worked just as well.

Time to change the rugs getting old and ugly. Close to downtown, McMan stadium and foothills and children's hospitals. They accept pets with at a $75.00 charge per night that's a real money maker for them just ridiculous when every other hotel in the area is $15.00 per night. One elevator not working the other very slow. I feel the room rate was too high. Continental breakfast area way over crowded.

Fairly standard Hampton Inn, only thing there is no real corner store nearby and most restaurants are a fair walk away
