Hansik Korean Cuisine

My daughter usually goes in and orders her own food. I went in store and ordered my daughters favourite dish. It’s raw and uncooked, so I called to ask about the dish. My daughter listened to the call and said “they are treating you like a dumb white person”. Really disappointed because this is the first time I ordered for her, and we both feel because she is half asian she receives better service.

This place is soooo good! Every piece of food I had was just divine! I can not rave enough about the flavours, texture and presentation! Try it for yourself, you will not be disappointed!

The food came out quick than expected.the prices were reasonable for the amount of 4 people.the corn cheese is amazing and tastes better than other restaurants i tried.the rice cakes are delicious but I suggest to have mozzarella cheese added as an option too cuz it will be a perfect fit.overall we were satisfied! I will come back for the corn cheese though

I have never been so disappointed with food quality like this before. We ordered the soy chicken, corn cheese, and bulgogi beef noodles. The soy chicken was so hard and stale it seemed like it’s a few weeks old in the freezer and they just fried it again. I have always loved korean fried chicken but this just disappointed me so badly I don’t think i could try chicken again for a while. The beef from the bulgogi noodles was just as bad. It was cold and hard and again disappointing. The noodles were stuck together like you would expect noodles to do after you have put them in the fridge for awhile and just reheated them. The only decent food we had that night was the corn cheese. It still wasn’t the best quality, but compared to the other two dishes it was good.

I’ve been to Hansik before (maybe a couple of years ago) but I remember having an okay experience then. This time just made me never want to go back, especially since they’ve increased their prices quite a bit and the quality has just gone down to the lowest. I’m so displeased.

Food is cold. Pork bone soup is bland! No taste at all. Seafood pancake is only seafood scrambled egg. After spending that much, I feel scammed.

We enjoyed dining at Hansik, it has been a while since the pandemic. All the dishes were fresh and delicious. Service is slower on a Saturday evening. Personal fav is the seafood pancake, cooked perfectly with fluffy eggs and seafood.

Nice variety of food and the prices are reasonable for Korean food! I thought the chicken ended being a bit overfried and drier as a result but I have heard that they are better sometimes! Had their lettuce wraps and 4 pieces of lettuce felt to few to start with, but it tastes great along with rice as well. Would recommend coming here with others to try a soup as well to have along with the pork and rice! Makes for a good meal to share that way.

Delicious Korean food! We tried the gochu bulgogi, the gochu short ribs, the bulgogi shabu shabu, and the sweet spicy korean fried chicken. We also had the tteokboki as an appetizer! The portions for the mains are quite small- for a full meal one portion is good for maybe 2 people at most. Everything was delicious! Our favorite was the gochu bulgogi with rice. The service was lacking slightly- we were not given an adequate amount of plates and utensils and had to ask multiple times. Along with that, we were given our entrees but without the rice, and by the time the rice arrived the entrees were cold. But super tasty! And so happy they have a halal menu!

Quite good, first time at this restaurant. Food was great and service was prompt. Would recommend.

Showed up late just before closing and everything was still made fresh hot and tasty. Will have to return for more dishes to try later. Thank you for the service and entertaining us so close to closing time.

Amazing experience. Food was great Service was excellent, and the avocado the most memorable experience ever. Loved every bit, and will be back again.

Absolutely delicious. The Japchae is sooooo freaking good. Sushi is amazing. I love the variety here.

Overall a pretty decent place. This is my first time trying out a Korean restaurant. I ordered a bulgogi jjigae and fried egg that was excellent. The dolsot rice was also pretty amazing.

This barbeque is the tastiest and funnest I've ever had. You can come and enjoy this taste anytime. Come and enjoy this beautiful peaceful atmosphere and delicious barbecue. If not, miss it.

It's been awhile since i have been to hansik and something definitely has changed. Used to be my go-to for korean food on the north side.

Pretty disappointed this time.

1. Didn't get any side dishes. We used to love the side dishes here.

2. Kimchi pancake was soggy. This place used to make it the best. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

3. Budae jigae was extremely salty and spicy compared to before. Used to be our favourite.

4. Poor service. Waitress seemed disinterested and kind of had an attitude. Did not check up on us once. When we rang the bell it seemed like we were bothering her.

5. Quite expensive. $40 for a stew is pretty up there. The spam is cut very thinly and now you get sausage slices instead of whole cocktail sausages.

Unfortunately, I am not sure I will be returning here. It was not the experience we used to get. Food is ok, but I won't pay that kind of money for bad service.

It was a wonderful day with my family having a delicious healthy foods at hunsik Korean restaurant Restaurant.

They have recently updated their menu and it while it was great before it is even better now, somehow. Cool atmosphere in a very nice restaurant, and the call buttons on the table are an especially nice touch. My only real complaint is that the seating itself leaves a little to be desired, and I sometimes leave there stiff and sore.

Very tasty korean fried chicken. Tempura shrimp was perfect. Kemchi stew was ok, a little bit smaller portion compared with other korean restaurants. Side dishes are extra. The place is very nice and the servers very polite.

I do like the overall layout of the restaurant. Good Korean art all around it you bring a family, come with friends etc my food came right on time soon I order it was delicious with nice and polite service. And yes make sure to try on of the Korean Made beverage called MILKIS.

Food was not bad but was disappointed by getting no side dishes when I ordered food. I’m Korean and I’ve been trying out different Korean places in Edmonton and they all come with free side dishes which is a very common thing in our culture. However this place asked to pay for side dishes when ordering. I’ll be ordering from other Korean places if I’m craving Korean food again.

I went here with my friends to satiate our cravings for Korean food and we were not disappointed! We had the shareable budae jjigae, half a portion of chicken, and tteokbokki and they were amazing. We finished every last bit of our meal and topped it off with Milkis. The place isn't very spacious though, but it didn't really bother us much as we were accomodated just fine. The servers are very helpful and nice. I really appreciate the button on each table that you just need to press when you want something. Kudos to you guys!

Order a Jjamppong here. $22+ delivery fees and tips from Uber eats. Very small portion. Tastes bland. Mussels got no meat in them. Very bad experience. Will never dine in here anymore.

I like the design of the restaurant, minimalist with a touch of Korean art, and it's very CLEAN (my children even says that the restaurant is very clean).
The service is superb, they are very polite and give a kind and gentle welcome gesture.
The foods is presented very well, looks good and appetizing. The fried chicken is a typical Korean fried chicken just like SFC (I am not a fans of Korean fried chicken anywhere, it's too dry for my liking). The seafood platter that we order cost $46 and it has crab, octopus, squid, muscle, shrimp, and rice cake in there (I think it's a bit overpriced).
The galbi is yummy but a bit sweet.
They have kid's meal which we really appreciate it and the kids love it because there's a candy in it and yummy deep fried chicken / shrimp with fries. Lol.

It's a bit overpriced for the food but we Love the service and the experience.

Love it. The soups are amazing, one of my favorite dishes on a cold day. The Galbi Tang Beef Short Rib Green Onion soup, blew me away. Rich in beefy goodness!

Pork belly was as equally good, seasoned and full of fatty goodness!

Good variety in the menu. A solid place to go to in a pinch. We had the Jjanbbong and the Samgyeopsal, both were fantastic. Service was quick.

Food was great, and very reasonable price. I was with couple of friends, we had the hot pot, and with the portion, it is very shareable. Also ordered KFC (Korean Fried Chicken). Awesome meal. Service is good, but I think they are short staffed, as they got busier, we have to call on the waiter few times for the extra broth we asked for because he got side tracked and forgot about it, and same happened for our bill.

It's been a while since coming back to Hansik and this time around I was disappointed. Firstly I was surprised they charged for the sides, never have I have to pay for sides at a Korean restaurant. Secondly I ordered the seafood hotpot and for the price I expected better as it was super salty and the quality of seafood is average.

The food is very good, and the service is friendly and professional. This is authentic Korean (my authentically Korean friends tell me), and I enjoyed it. It wasn't "can't-get-enough", or "hits the munchies spot", but a quality, delicious meal.

Small hole-in-the-wall type place, but still with comfortable booths for seating. Everything was delicious. Beer selection a bit limited but they still had the standard “Asian” beers plus a few craft domestic that I hadn’t tried before. The food was delicious. Vegetables were super fresh and meats/noodles cooked just right with the right amount of spice. Will definitely be back.

Terrible! My friend & I ordered exactly the same dish but my glass noodles were under cooked and couldn't find the pork that was ordered with dish. Her noodles where clear & plump, mine thin, hard, stiffer.and couldn't find any pork. The chef argued she cooked them both side by side and all proteins are weighed eqally. Well, the burners must have been turned off and the scale must have been broken for my dish. Even after physically seeing the difference, the chef was still denying it. Secondly, I paid extra for kimchee and what I got was a bowl of sauce mixed with fresh crisp cabbage. This is a traditional Korean dish in a Korean restaurant. They should know slapping sauce on top of fresh cabbage is not the same as marinated/fermented kimchee. Expensive and chef was rude.arguing when you can see the difference.
DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!

Visited this place for dinner in July 2021. My partner and I got the boiled seafood to share. This meal was very delicious especially when served fresh and hot! We will definitely be coming back here when we are craving this dish!

Wow! I have to say great food, great service. The young man that served us was courteous and informative. My lunch date, is more knowledgeable about Korean food than I, but sooooo good. Our server was so nice he made me feel like I should go back again BECAUSE he asked if I like the BulGOBi, that I should come back an try another dish that is cheese inspired.

I’ve been going to this place for 4 years and they have one the best korean food in Edmonton! The servers are all very nice and the food never changes its always so surprisingly good!

The food here is AMAZING! This was my first time here and I was so impressed. The portions were very large and had a lot of meat in them. My husband and I ordered two dishes and we were completely stuffed. Even after we felt full we could not stop eating, it was so delicious! The service was excellent, the restaurant was very cozy. It is apparent that the people who run this place take pride in their food as well as their place of business. Will definitely be returning! Thank you Hansik!

Just didn't taste good. Not sure if they changed owners but the food was off. Also, they charge for side dishes which is odd for a Korean restaurant. Overpriced and quality/portion doesn't compare to other Korean restaurants in the city. Huge dissapointment.

TTEOK BBOK I. SO SMALL PORTION. THIS CHARGE $13.00. OH MY GOD. THE COST LOOKS LIKE A 4-5DOLLARS. TASTE IS HOME MADE TASTE. THE SERVER WAS GOOD BUT THE OWNER NEEDS TO BE WAKE UP AND SEE THE REAL WORLD. YOU CAN NOT KEEP DOING THE BUSINESS LIKE THIS.

So good, nice service, that place is a most go if you stop at Edmonton, always ordering from this place everytime I’m passing by. Grilled Pork Belly, Korean army stew (sausage stew), Tteok Pokki, everything’s just awesome

Wow! What a gem of a place to discover! My granddaughter introduced me to this restaurant and the food was fabulous - service was quick and our waiter very polite and knowledgeable -
Ordered japjap glass noodles and beef bulgogi (beef was tender, flavourful and good sized serving as was the serving size of the noodles)
After first experience I can't wait to try a few more delicious dishes that caught eye

Fantastic meal. And the premade dinner for 2 was a great combination of tastes and just the right amount of food. I would definitely recommend. However take a version doesn't take out so well.

Food's always tasty and amazing, staff is polite and accommodating. I love their creamy iced coffee and their sizzle plate meals. Continue what you're doing as you have the great taste and service! Oh and the korean chicken is fantastic

Excellent fresh authentic Korean fare. Staff was friendly and efficient.
Unless you ring the call bell, they leave you to your meal and company, which I absolutely loved.

I mean the place is legit and the food was pretty good but theres some small things they could do to make it better like have a better menu (explain what the different foods actually are and also make the menu physical rather than on their website only) and add free refills for soda, etc.

Great experience! Went on Saturday with my wife and they had lunch specials. Reasonable price and delicious! We will come again for sure!

Great food, ok price, Kimchi are not included in take out orders and must order seperately. Recommend their bulgogi pajeon, avacado bibimbap.

I get to eat here a lot since I work in the area. I like how the customer service is always excellent and they keep the place neat consistently. Pricing is fair and they serve large portions.

I ordered stir fry vegetable glass noodles and it was ok, saucy but fine. My boyfriend had bulgogi beef noodles and was SICK. 100% got food poisoning from here because it was the only thing he ate all day
