Overcrowded puppy daycare, poop everywhere.
Don't leave tips the groomers don't relieve tips.
They do get great groomers, but they don't stay long.
Many better grooming facilities.

This review has been a long time coming, I’m not even sure where to begin… there could be a million good reviews on a place, but you never know how your pet is treated behind closed doors, especially since they can’t speak.

We used to bring our two westies to Happy Pet Spa, religiously, for years. The last few times we brought them for grooming, our older westie was timid and refused to even go through the gate which is unlike her.
We also had started bringing our new golden retriever puppy here (who is now almost 2 yrs old). Odd issue here and there, but he was a puppy, he wasn’t going to be the best behaved.
In April of this year is when all the issues progressed. My parents received phone calls saying our golden was having issues with other dogs, and it went as far as them telling us he couldn’t come in on certain days because certain dogs were going to be there, and then they would flip back and say “actually no, it’s fine, he can come. ”
One particular day in April, he was dropped off for grooming and daycare. My parents again received a phone call, except this time saying he had “attacked” three other dogs, and he was no longer welcome back at the daycare. My mom went to go and get him, and then they again flipped and said “no, he’s not kicked out. We were just going to groom him anyways and leave him. The decision was made on our part that he was not staying to be groomed and would never go back. They proceeded to take him out of the “time out room” with some sort of lead around his neck, and PULLED him through the facility while holding the other dogs back. It all started to make sense why our westies were suddenly nervous to go for grooming.
Our dogs will never return, and I will never recommend them. The facility is way too small for the amount of dogs they handle on a daily basis, and the staff has zero control (and also seems like zero training) to deal with the amount of dogs. DO NOT come here unless you want your dogs to be with people who have a lack of care.
We have since found an amazing daycare that gives us updates after every visit on how the day went, sends pictures, and posts pictures on social media (and guess what…no issues with our golden, shocking). We have also found new places that have consistent groomers.

I am DISGUSTED with Happy Pet Spa.

If your dog is reactive or is fearful of grooming I wouldn’t recommend. Lots of dogs in a small space with few people supervising.
I was told that they would work with my dog to desensitize her to grooming and after working with her for a while, they decided they would be unable to finish the groom (which I payed for in full) and turned her away. Very disappointing as I was under the impression they were prepared to work with us until we could get her more comfortable with the grooming process.
If your dog doesn’t do well with grooming, I would suggest trying somewhere else.

Great place and people. We have two dogs we drop off weekly and the team at Happy Pet Spa take such great care of them. We always have two happy and tired dogs when we pick them up.

Tried reaching out to the owner to give them a chance to explain their rude behaviour and I have not received a response.

I do not recommend this place.

The owner needs to check themselves before continuing to offer a public service where the continuation of their business is based on customer return. If they cannot be even remotely kind or compassionate they might want to find a job where they interact with people less. I cannot stress how disappointed I am with them and the business. The owner owes my mother an apology.

Can I give zero? To shame people about their dog and how often the get done is a joke. Maybe stop to think about people and what they have going on. Wife is in the middle of Chemotherapy, makes the time to go in only to have the OWNER shame her about the puppy's hair. You should understand this and other things like economy first people you go off on your rants about pet owners. ZERO chance we ever return to this place. Good for you if you have the time to groom every 8 weeks maybe stop to think some do not have that time available.

My pup loved it here! Came back nice and tidy and suuuuper tired. He’s a husky, so tired is a commodity with value higher than diamonds, he absolutely loved running around with his new friends and lookin spick and span while doing it

I am not a customer of this doggy daycare but was a customer of the cat grooming attached to the business. What I witnessed while in this daycare when dropping my cat off was very shocking, to the point I left as my groomer was late and I no longer felt comfortable leaving my animal there.

The owner has a terrible attitude, she truly has no idea how to treat people with respect which doesn't help the situation.

The space is WAY too small for the amount of dogs they are signing in on a daily basis. There is no outdoor space for the dogs so they use the floor as the washroom. The establishment itself is run down and very dirty. I witnessed 3 big dogs who were in the face of 1 smaller dog who began to get very uncomfortable. The heckles on his/her back were up, teeth out and snapping at the other dogs, clearly needing some separation. At no point in time did anyone, including their "trainer", intervene. The owner never even turned around to check in on the dogs nor did she seem like she cared. I heard the trainer yell at the dogs numerous times when she didn't know how to deal with what was happening around her. There were clearly way too many dogs for one person to supervise. Keeping in mind dog daycares are not regulated in our province and anyone could say they are a trainer with no credentials.

After leaving I called the spa and asked her to let my groomer know I left for obvious reasons. The owner then began giving me some bs excuse that they had a dog who was very anxious and it was difficult to settle her down. Well first off, if the dogs were in an appropriate sized space or there were less dogs to trainer ratio these types of things could be prevented, secondly the fact she thought I would really believe this to make up for what I was seeing in real time is comical, mean while she sat there and did nothing to help.

It is clear this business only focuses on chasing dollar signs and not putting the proper attention, time or money into their staff, continuing education, the establishment or most importantly, the dogs.

The staff are friendly and professional, but more importantly, my dog loves the place and she's a fan. Grooming prices are fair, as well as daycare prices.

We started coming here about a year and a half ago because they were recommended from a friend. We have a cocker spaniel that is older and easily traumatized so we had Chris meet him and groom him. She was great, Our dog wasn't scared to go get groomed. The last couple of times we noticed our dog was shaking and did not want to go. We always call two to three weeks ahead to book and always ask for Chris as he trusts her. When we recently brought him for grooming it was accidentally mentioned that someone else was doing his grooming as Chris was no longer working there. His grooming was booked for 9: 00 and when I called at noon I was told he hadn't been started yet. When we picked him up he was quite upset, he came home dirty and had an epileptic seizure. So my guess is they rushed through him, didn't bathe him and manhandled him. On confronting the owner she apologized and refunded our money. I was not going to leave a review but I felt I had to speak for those who can't. I wish the staff booking the appointment would have told me Chis was no longer there. We would have had plenty of time for our dog to get to meet a different groomer. Also our dog ended up with lice from this facility. Please look elsewhere for your pets needs

Always excellent service and friendly staff. Our cat lily is well taken care of and looking her best. Customer for life. Highly recommended for all your pet needs.

With sad heart I need to post some thing about this company. As everyone knows Mr.rubbles suffers from separation anxiety. Finding a good groomer is very difficult for us who is consistent has availability and is willing to work with him. We had an amazing groomer but due to Covid she quit her job. We took him to one who was sweet and did a great job with him but she was completely booked up and didn’t have space for him. So We found someone who seemed to know what they were talking about and knowing how to deal with dogs and anxiety which is this company. My partner called her to book an appointment and asked her suggestion if he should be fast in and out or what she suggested as he has anxiety. When I went and drop Mr. Rubbles off she said normally they charge a fast fee. I told her to please take her Time as he has separation anxiety and he was already shaking. We get it’s difficult working with a dog who has anxiety but this is just not right! I suggested that she do it slowly or so on task at at a time. She noted he had crazy mats behind his collar which is normal for long gaur and where the harness sits. We comb them out once a week. We work at his pace! And to talk to him and encourage him. This has worked for all other persons who cut his hair. When I picked him up he was super excited to see me jumping all over crazy. Scratching at the door to leave. I thanked the lady for doing so well and didn’t really understand what she meant “we will not charge you the two person or behavioural fee”. I thought I would ask My partner when he came home.
I was late getting to class so I quickly jumped in the car with Mr Rubbles and our daughter and receiving more of mr Rubbles numerous kisses and hugs. I didn’t have a chance to closely checked and trusted this company with my precious baby. When I got to the house Kiki said mom something is wrong with rubbles eyes and mr Rubbles came to my face I noticed something red in his eye. I immediately called the vet and booked him in. When I checked it looked like blood. As the night went on the red continued through his whole one eye and also the other. We called the company numerous times and a left message. Today we called and still no one picked up when they own a compnay that offers numerous services... Mr Rubble experience such bad trauma that caused hemorrhage. We will be seeking answers with authority. The vet said the company should have stopped and let him take a break but as you can clearly see this was not the case! We have no answers to what happened and just want to know what happened and why our baby was hurt! Shame on the owner and company for hurting our baby! I wish I could take away her license and not have her touch another persons baby ever! Or her staff who assisted her through this! Mr rubbles now will not trust a groomer! I’m sure the owner will say some lie as I see it in her posts above. We tried numerous times to call and no one would return our calls or pick up!

Our dog was injured in this dog groomers care. I would not suggest using their services. The owner laughed at our concerns of our dog. He had Haemorrhaging trauma he received in their care. Please be careful and don’t use their services!

A truly wonderful experience all thanks to the amazing and Is very accommodating receptionist at the front! She's always so professional and very helpful with all our interactions. My wife and I truly enjoy her comforting and friendly nature. I'll come back for sure just because of Meaghan!

I dropped off a scared and nervous 13 year old dog. When I returned to pickup our girl she was sitting in the window next to a new friend. Thank you guys! She looks great!

Warm caring Dog Grooming Spa. My Dogs looked amazing after thier Grooming and were super happy.

My family has been taking our blind pup here for years now for grooming, she has some obvious anxieties due to the blindness but she LOVES coming here & seeing Ella, they take care of her so well & her haircut always comes out looking adorable! More recently we have started dropping off our new puppy for daycare services & it has been such a huge help with teaching her socialization skills with other dogs + humans during the pandemic, they always give us her daily report & she comes home tired & happy after playing all day! Thanks to all the amazing staff at Happy Pet Spa from Goat + Molly's family!

Terrible at communicating! They would be finished with my dog and not let me know for hours. Poor guy is just really nervous and they would recommend a different calming drug for him everytime. I spent alot of money on these with the vet but everytime I went in they would tell me i got the wrong one. WASTE OF TIME. Will not waste my time and money again on these unprofessionals.

My dog absolutely loves coming here, it is sometimes hard to get her to leave because she has such a good time in daycare! The owners and staff are always very pleasant and I feel very comfortable leaving my pup here for the day, especially in the winter.

Love working at this shop. Learn something new every single day. We all take great pride in all the dogs we groom. Also my pup Archie has the most fun here in daycare.

Take my dog there for his nails and he loves it! Staff and owners are friendly and knowledgable. Recently I brought my cat in to be shaved with Jeannie. He looked great and was relaxed and content through the process. Thank you Happy Pet Spa for making a safe space for our furballs.

Staff is wonderful, owner is rude and shady! She says there is no daycare fee, but she jacks the prices of grooms and then pockets 20% of the groom for herself. As well as pocketing the groomers tips.
The girls that work there are wonderful, professional and deserve better for all the hard work they do!

Oreo just had a grooming appt yesterday and what a great job! He came home all clean and fluffy; the whole family loved his tidy new look, and my wife kept commenting how "nice and fresh" he smelled. And this was all on a same day, short notice basis too.
And this in addition to his several visits to their doggy daycare, where he gets some great social time. They separate the smaller dogs from the bigger ones, and they even have big windows for them to look outside and watch the world go by!

Deb and her team of dog groomers definitely do a great job, their staff are well knowledged and Incredibly friendly. We love this place so much we drive all the way from 215th Street to Sherwood Park to have our dog groomed and we always tip.

Love Happy Pet spa. They are wonderful with my elderly difficult dog when grooming him as well as my German Shepard. Thankyou for taking such special care with my fur babies

We recently took our dog in for grooming and we are extremely pleased with the experience. Our dog is large and had some extremely matted areas so we were concerned about how it would go. However, the staff is very kind, patient, and attentive and our dog now looks amazing! We will definitely go back!

The ladies were very nice and they handled my cat well for a nail trim, however the dogs that were there can see everyone walking up etc so they all get really loud and excited.my kitty was the most freaked out I've ever seen her unfortunately.cute place just not good for cats

I made the mistake of taking my dog to Petsmart when he was a pup and I'm not sure what they did, but he was absolutely traumatized. We tried a different groomer and they constantly told us he wasn't behaving and that we had to work with him at home. Problem is, we never had a problem at home. I've given him baths, trimmed his nails and trimmed his fur. He was always well behaved. He became so traumatized by the groomer that it got to the point where he would shake uncontrollably any time we took him to a place he hadn't been before. I found Happy Pet Spa completely by chance, and I'm so happy I did! I've been taking him there for years and he's gotten so much better. He's still difficult to groom but I know the staff there are a lot more patient with him. He's always so happy to see them, so I know he's in good hands!
