Ive been going to Happy Returns for over twenty years. Andrew has helped me greatly with my personal and business tax preparations. He is amazing at what he does.

I just had a horrible experience with the owner Andrew Joyes. After waiting in line for an hour I sit down and let him know that on top of my 2022 taxes, I need to make some changes to my 2021 tax year. He immediately says no and they are too busy, which is fair. He then however proceeds to lecture me with extreme attitude that I had all year to do that and I shouldn’t be trying to do it all at once now. I told him I understand that they are busy but I’d appreciate it if he spoke to with respect. He then throws my papers back at me and tells me to leave! He told me that I was speaking to him like a child! Unbelievable. Absolutely horrendous service and he is an embarrassment to the profession. It doesn’t matter how long you have been in the business, it’s free to treat people with respect. After I left I found another accountant nearby that showed me outstanding customer service so the one thing I can thank Andrew for is inspiring me to find a competent accountant.

I went to file both my personal and business taxes. The employee combined both my income and filed as a personal tax. Like most of us, I had less knowledge about taxing system. That's why I went to a "professional" to do my taxes.

When I came to know that the employee had done a mistake in filing my taxes, I went back to them only to be "shooed" away by the same employee saying that "it's not their problem anymore".

It s a big mess now in that office, after Andrew got sick and not able to manage it, there s a bossy girl taking calls that have no clue how customer service should go, she had no patience at all, she hung up on me 3 times pretending that somebody have done that.
It s bad that I ve been filling my tax returns in there for 18 years and now I have to say goodbye to it after the good man s not able to do anything about it.

I enjoy coming here because it's affordable and fast. The people that work here are not the warmest but they have never treated me unkind and I never feel disrespected by them. They are hard workers and see a lot of people in a day which I can understand can be overstimulating so I understand they might be unwelcoming at times but they're doing a great job. Please be patient with them.

Never again, the worst accountant ever, they make me lost 2000 $, today, irrespectful, I ll share details in another post

This year I thought I would give this place a second chance but that was a waste of 3 hours to get there and wait in line.just to be told there was no service to me. I asked why and the only thing the manager could say there was a reason why but wouldn't tell me what the reason was, he just sat the doing what ever he was doing. I still don't know the reason. I even phones back to talk to him and some chick said he with a customer.ya right. I will not go back to this business.and will be going to the better business bureau

April 4,2023 at approximately 11: 30AM, service fee is okay but I waited 1 and half hour in line and when they are finally doing my taxes, they entered wrong number on my RRSP resulting in me owing tax.

When I ask why did they enter wrong infos, they answered me back with the following:

"Get out"
"I dont want your business here"
"I don't care what you communicated"

No sense of professionalism. Very disappointed.

The name of the business does not reflect what the level of service they offer.

Because of this incident I don't trust people to do my taxes now, I have to do it myself.

I'm encouraging you do your own taxes because business like this don't care about you.

I don't understand people are not happy with Happy Returns Tax Services Ltd. They have been around for decades. If you have the average income this is the place to have your Income Tax done. They are super fast and charges low in price wise. When you compare to others in Edmonton. I did notice last year they charged me and my husband $30.00 This year 2023 they charged $42.00 That is no problem at all. March 3rd we were there at their door around 9: 15 and there was a huge line up. I was #68 or 69 can't remember.
Every year we get someone different and they do their job fast. They don't have the time to chit chat with you. So, why do people complain. If you have questions I wouldn't call them. They don't have the time. If you want to go to others and spend big buck you can. If you have your own business you need to hire an accountant to do your income tax. This is not the place. We been happy with Happy Returns Tax Services Ltd.and, highly recommend.

I always drop off my taxes and get a call the same or very next day to tell me they have been completed. I have been going here for quite a few years and am absolutely impressed by the service and staff every year. These people are amazing!
