Have only ever had professional thorough services through this Lawyers office - Paula is very thorough and a real asset to this office.

We used Hassett and Reid for a land purchase back last spring. Everything seemed great as we were preparing to sign documents and they were very responsive to any questions we had. After we completed the transaction and we had paid though, we couldn’t get a simple response to an email. We received a land titles form a few month later declaring an interest in the land due to a covenant and we were just curious if it was normal and to be expected, or something to be concerned about – basically a yes or no answer. We never received any reply after sending a couple emails. So I wouldn’t expect any help if you have any issues with your transaction after signing and making payment. I’ll be trying a different lawyer next time.

I use these guys for every real estate transaction I do. I really like working with them. They always try to add value.

It was quite emotional on my part. Who want to talk about your own demise. They are understanding and I appreciate that.

Our situation was quite complex as we were closing on the same day in two different provinces. The week leading up to possession date, we were travelling across the country. Jim and team were fantastic, helped alleviate so much stress during the whole process. Simply an amazing team.

Not courteous of one's time, they called with a appointment the day before. Once we showed up still waited until 1010 until someone walked in.
I was starting a project in Edmonton and I have my crew now waiting on me. If they would have given a couple of days notice I could have made other arrangements.

First let me know who I am emailing. I am not looking anything up.
Second, its funny you said that you had this Thursday I got a call Monday. What happen to letting someone know Friday. And you being late. Communication is key. You have a receptions to which my wife asked is this going to be long and at the point your receptionist could have communicated what the delay was she did not. Not long now.

And lastly, I am dealing with COVID in my workplace as well not just you so it is exactly what I stated earlier. Not courteous of any person time.

Despite a busy time in their office, I was able to get in to sign papers on a house sale quickly. The staff were courteous, friendly and professional. Great place when you have to see a lawyer. Great prices too

I bought a house back in November, and signed papers around the middle of that month. I was told at that time to expect my paper package ‘very shortly’ in the mail, along with a refund of funds that hadn’t been used. Fast forward to January, and I still hadn’t gotten anything. So, I started emailing and calling, and kept getting put off. COVID meant things were backed up, they would go get my file and push it forward, etc. Then, in February, I found out that I could claim the house purchase on my income taxes, so I really put the push on. So, emails and phone calls kept happening, to no avail. Three weeks ago from this post (we’re in March, now), I was told that the package would be in the mail within that week. It took me calling this past Thursday to state that I was coming in personally to get my papers. I got a phone call later that afternoon to say that my papers were ready for pickup. I went in on Friday to pick up my package, and when I saw the cheque that was included, it was much lower than I’d expected. After inspection of the papers when I got home, there was just over $300 that wasn’t accounted for from the amount I had initially brought in. Oh, and the cover sheet was dated for the day that I called.so, the assurance from three weeks earlier that it was going to be in the mail was a falsehood. I’m not going to fight it as I’m just fed up with this firm, but I will NOT recommend this firm to anyone. In future, I’ll take my legal business elsewhere.
