We get our donuts here now for our work safety meetings and every time i bring them in, everyone smiles and gets excited. The apple fritters are beyond amazing and they are huge! Lucy and her team of amazing bakers are amazing, thank you!
This photo does not do the Apple fritter justice, you have to go in there and buy one and try it. My office gets donuts/fritters typically from Tim’s once a week, I saw a Facebook review Hazeldeans has the best fritters in the city, IT WAS RIGHT! We’ve gone back 4 times again in the last 2 weeks because they are so delicious. The owner is super sweet and quick. I’ve tried the cinnamon rolls and beef rolls too both are good but seriously try the fritter! Slightly crispy semi-sweet pull apart happy goodness. Highly recommended
Kills me that I didn't get to enjoy the baked goods here before being diagnosed with celiac disease 5 years ago, but my kids and hubby LOVE the donuts, puffed wheat squares, cheese bread, ham & cheese buns, bbq pulled pork buns, pizza buns and banana bread. My mom swears the sausage rolls are the best in the city.
Small storefront, not modern by any means. Fits the neighbourhood perfectly.
Continually delicious. Line ups in the morning to get the fresh goods. What a gem in this lovely neighborhood. My personal fav is the carrot cake, the cinnamon rolls and cookies are next. Then there are savory buns, donuts and breads of all kinds. When people walk out with trays full of goodies, you know it's a hot spot!
Great neighborhood bakery! There are a great variety of breads and pastries to buy (even if you miss out on the morning doughnuts). Lucy was very kind and gave me a free sausage roll with my order.
Lucy’s baked goods are super delicious! The Apple fritter is heavenly! She is also very kind and has often given us a free donut or other treat on top of what we buy:)
First time today and the experience was wonderful. The owner is sweet and gave me a free cookie. The person in front of me got the last apple fritter, but they looked amazing. Next time I will definitely come sooner than 10: 30am so I could get one. I got the pizza bun which was huge and so delicious. Their sausage rolls were to die for. Also the scones and the cherry danish was yummy. I high recommend to anyone that wants something different from the big box chains.
Stopped in here upon recommendation from a friend. Ended up buying 6 different treats. All were very delicious upon sampling. Very friendly staff. We will definitely be going back.
While I have moved from Edmonton, when I do come back, I make a beeline to Lucy's. Best bakery in town. I adore the Apple Fritters and wouldn't hesitate to crown them best I've ever had. They are that good. Another favourite of mine is the cinnamon bread - soft, fresh and sweet. Want fresh donuts? Bang. There they are. Cinnamon buns? Get a tray full. Nanaimo bars, brownies, carrot cake? All there. And over the course of my life - tasted them all. Never disappointed.
The simple fact is that if you have a sweet tooth like me - do the Saturday morning pilgrimage, get in line, wait your turn, then grab a favourite treat. You deserve it! And if you don't deserve it, pay it forward. Grab the treat and then do something nice. ;)
Great little small business. They will often throw in a free donut or something else when you buy more than a handful of something else, like pizza buns.
I got a chocolate brownie, carrot cake and cookie. All three were delicious and fairly priced. The owner was quite nice she gave a free pack of cheese bread so bonus
Lucy makes the best sausage rolls. I can understand why there is a line outside sometimes. The rolls, pastries and raspberry scones were top notch, Wish I lived nearby.
Awesome family owned local business with the personal touch. Everything is delicious and the lady that runs it is as sweet as pie. If you like quality delicious sweet things for a rock bottom price, then this is your place. People line up here on the weekends and rightfully so. This place does everything right in a truly un-fancy way. I like to live in a world where both this place and Doughnut Party can exist and both are good for their own reasons. Please support this local business that works hard to be a great part of the community.
Was brought here by a colleague, small tucked away place but by far the best jam doughnut I’ve ever had! Extremely light, jam didn’t have that sharp after taste like a lot of places and definitely fresh. Will 100% be back
Discovered this place about a month ago when I moved into the neighborhood. Thought it was wonderful that we had a local bakery and wanted to support it. I stopped inside to check out what they had and I have been hooked ever since! The lady at the front is such a jem, so upbeat and so friendly. I love their donuts and puffed wheat squares! If you have never been here, definitely worth a visit! Glad to have such a jem so close to home!
Still the best little bakery around. Customers line up in the morning to get in. She makes a great variety of products at very reasonable prices that frequently sell out. Try the apple fritters, date squares, cinnamon buns and bread, sausage rolls, scones and much more. You will not be disappointed.
Been going there for probably 10 years. It's best to call her the morning to order because then you won't be disappointed. Her poppy seed bread makes the best french toast. Even if you just toast it lightly and lather on some butter, it's so yummy (but a bit messy). The puff wheat square is very good. Sausage rolls very good. Apple fritters delicious. Carrot cake good but no nuts. She runs a nut free bakery I am thinking. She supplies alot of bread to at least one local school. Lucky kids! She is very kind and often throws in an extra doughnut. I can't say no. Her prices are excellent. A hidden gem in an old strip mall.
This little bakery is simple but well done, the sausage rolls are the best I have had in Edmonton, and I have tried many. The owner is delightful, she is happy, engaging and generous. Worth the drive thank you.
Best baked goods ever! Found a hidden gem in Edmonton. The most fabulous baking I have ever tasted - except my Mom’s. It’s is a very unassuming storefront in a strip mall in Hazeldon. Only found it because we were parking to go to the medical clinic. We tried a variety of tasty treats. Blew me away. Each and every one was outstanding. For under $20 - we got fluffy dinner buns, a cinnamon bun, a melt in your mouth brownie, a huge moist piece of carrot cake, and a puffed wheat square. The puffed wheat was the surprising winner, perfect! Chewy and slathered in chocolate. We will be returning for sure.
This bakery has the best apple fritters in the city. They are perfect. The owner is really sweet too; every time we have purchased a half-dozen of fritters, she's given us something for free (e.g, donut, cinnamon bun - also very delicious!). The pork buns are really good too. Just an overall amazing local business that I wish I had discovered sooner.
I heard about this bakery from some students at rutherford elementary school and i had to try it! I've gotten the cinnamon buns a few times as well as some cheese scones and everything is always fresh, no matter what time of day and every time i go the owner always puts in one or more complimentary items! So sweet and you can tell they love what they do at this bakery, would recommend to anyone
Loaves, rolls, donuts, everything I have had is delicious. Very careful COVID rules, feels very safe. And once in a while she sends you home with a free cookie:)
Such a wonderful lil' local spot. We went in for only the 2nd time after living in this neighborhood for years, and man did we immediately regret not going more often. The food was absolutely delicious and the owner gave us some free rice krispy squares at the end! It felt so good to support a local gem like this.
Incredible bakery! Delicious fresh baked goods, very reasonable pricing and friendly service. Highly recommend the cinnamon buns brownies an the powdered donuts
Hazeldean Bakery/ Lucy's Sweets is the best bakery in Edmonton. And Lucy is the sweetest. Prices are great, and the baking is even better. Everything is always fresh, so amounts are limited, and not everything is available every day. If you want something specific, it's best to order it ahead of time. The cupcakes are the best tasting in the city, and well-priced, as are the stuffed buns.
Found this bakery while on a walk with my boy. The gentleman at the counter was friendly, we bought 2 loaves of bread and, will be back. By far my favorite bread in the city.
I really like the multigrain bread, the banana loaf, and the sausage rolls. It never hurts that she often throws in a free cookie or roll from time to time
