Arrived 4 minutes late to my appointment when i got to the front desk they said it should be fine its only been 4 minutes i had to fill out some paperwork that took about 10 minutes then wait for a doctor which took another 15 minutes and when he finally came he said he couldnt see me and that i would have to rebook months later, horrible service do not see these doctors from what i heard do not care about patients extremely rude youre better off diagnosing yourself

My experience this far with HealthPoint has been overwhelmingly positive.
HealthPoint is proof that there is truly hope for our medical system, specifically in the pain management side of things. I was admitted into the multi clinic program and all the practitioners I met with had the most utmost professionalism-addressed all sides of my pain: physical, emotional, and mental. I was treated as a person not just as a condition or symptoms. There is so much more to treatment than medication and they understand that. I wish I could remember the names of each practitioner I met with as I’d love to give them a shout out.
Although it may take some time to see them-that is everywhere as doctors/specialists are incredibly overworked at the moment.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such a patient centred facility. It truly gives me hope, not only for my pain management in the future-but for our medical system.

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Luckily, my appointment started on time.

I was referred to Dr. Knash for chronic headaches and reoccurring migraines. After asking some general questions regarding my migraines and headaches, doing a quick evaluation of my eyes and reflexes, Dr. Nash’s diagnosis was that 20-30% of women are affected with migraines and headaches and that it is deemed to be common.

When I inquired as to how to determine what the cause was for having a headache for the last 17 years, his answer was “I told you, they are common. ”

I am extremely disappointed that I waited five months for an appointment that lasted 10 minutes to be told that I have headaches because I’m a woman.

I will be looking for assistance from another physician is Dr. Knash did not seem at all interested in helping treat, or determine the cause of my issue.

Was running 5 min late for an appointment I've been waiting for so long. I called to let them know and they said to come in and they can squeeze me in. Once I arrive they make me wait another 15 minutes and then take me in to the room. Waited again for another 10 min and then Dr comes and and says he can't see me anymore. Worst service ever. Now I'm in more pain and have to wait who knows how long for another appointment

Have only had one phone call and been in the building once so far. But what an amazing experience, Dr. Cheung is fabulous, the receptionists are amazing, the nurses are great as well as Dr. Yang.
I have seen many doctors for chronic back pain and most blow it off and/or just give a prescription for pain killers. Not here, nothing even said about pills & I appreciate that. I don’t like taking pills to mask the problem. Steps are being taken to help with the pain and that’s what I need.

An amazing group of professionals and Specialists that know their work very well and complete the procedures very well! It has been a life changing experience!

The staff and doctor Xu were awesome. So caring and took his time with my husbands evaluation. We would highly recomend this place! So thankful we came.

Very unprofessional had a prp procedure done and dr asked if I showered as I was dirty, well it was 30 degrees and I was sweating profusely from heat and stress then said do you know there is a cost for the procedure when I already paid for it. After they try to book me for physiotherapy and I'm told I will get a call as she was unsure if it booked properly since everyone left for the day. Then on physio day I get a reminder text at 8: 04 am when apparently my appointment was at 8.

Saw Dr Ali and Dr Cheung. Both very good. Professional. Quick and easy. Answered questions efficiently and directly. Got 6 test injections into SI joints - Fabulous. Hardly any pain during procedure. Excited to go back for the next one! Woot! Then to get the nerve ablation!

I can’t say enough good about Health Pointe! The Doctors and nurses are very knowledgeable and helpful. I have been to two separate clinics and the results are extremely consistent. Helpful, friendly and professional, and no wait time!

Their treatments work, and if they don’t, they are fast to refer you on to someone who they think can!

I have been seeing a doctor at HealthPointe for my lower back since about 2008. I have the RF procedure on my back every 12-16 months and it completely changes the functionality of my back! Great place for Chronic Pain Management!

Literally the laughing joke of medical professionals, just spent 7 days trying to get my friend to even speak to someone, his health is a joke to these lowlifes!

Took my mother in law to Health Pointe clinic for nerve testing. As Dr. Barry came in the room, my mother in laws other doctor called. I answered and asked for them to call back. In that moment Dr. Barry rudley told me to leave the room. I was there to help my mother in law understand as English is her second language. Throughout the appointment Dr. Barry was very rude, condescending and talked down to both of us. He was nice near the end of the appointment but seemed very dismissive of her pain. At one point, she said she has severe arthritis in her neck and experiences extreme pain to which he responded "I've seen your chart, it's not that severe"! DO not see this doctor, he will make you feel low. He doesn't care about his patients. I'd rate Dr. Barry negative stars if I could.

This is without a doudt the worst Medical service I've ever dealt with.
The person running the office has absolutely no idea what she's doing.
This place inspires so little confidence that I have asked my family doctor to refer me to somewhere else before even going to an appointment.
After waiting almost 4 months with no communication I called their office to find out that the Doctor that I was to see had refered me to another Doctor in their office that was not taking new patients.
REALLY?
Get your Doctor to refer you somewhere else.

This place is awful. My spine is fused top to bottom. I now struggle with unbelievable pain, every twenty minutes it feels as though someone hits me with a cattle prod. This clinic won't listen or care. The second they found out I was bipolar it was I'm crazy and this is all in my head. Sorry but I don't think pain from fusion surgery is in my head. Don't recommend

My experience w/Dr. Barry (who can't be found anywhere on HealthPointe's website btw) was a waste of the time and money I spent coming from outside of Edmonton and I intend to let my family physician know. My immediate concern was that my chronic pain is now waking me throughout the night, reducing both the quantity and quality of my sleep. I'm irritable and tired and there is a toll being paid in my family relationships as well as my business relationships. If quality of sleep isn't thought of as a part of a whole and comprehensive approach to health, a med degree is a fraud perpetrated on the very people it is meant to assure. I understand my answers may lie in additional testing and a long term approach, but I have zero confidence that this clinic has all of my best interests at heart and I won't be going back to HealthPointe. Ever.

After my first minus-1-Star experience at the Injection part of this part of the clinic, I gave them another try after having being assured that they have another team on hand. And this 5-Star-rating goes primarily to the nurses Lemy and Angie as well as the the physicians who attended to me. I appreciated there patience, care and compassion, explaining the procedure, walking me through every step, and providing extra freezing when needed. And last but not least giving me juice to pick me up afterwards. Thank you!

I've got dry needling from Dr. Tina Khanlarpoor on 3rd June and I suffered a lung injury and went to the emergency (Grey Nuns hospital) for emergency surgery.
I have had severe depression and I am worried about the side effects.
Emergency Dr said that it is very rare and serious case so she must stop to this dangerous thing for other patients to other patients.

An overall horrible experience with this clinic. I got a referral to here for chronic migraines that I’ve been dealing with for a decade. Dr. Knash was the “neurologist” I talked to. He didn’t listen to any of my concerns and now I am being forced to try prescriptions that costs hundreds that I’ve tried before that haven’t worked, until I can try something else. I was told to follow up with him. I called the clinic and they refused to book another phone appointment with him. Said I had to get a new referral and wait months. Wouldn’t recommend this place or Dr. Knash to anyone. They are clearly not in the interest of actually helping people.

Love the entire staff, the doctors were informative, polite, friendly, and cared a lot about the patients.

Wonderful staff, very professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. If you had a problem with them, check your expectations, and your attitude.

Considering so many options for treatment of pain listed on the HealthPointe website it was disappointing to hear from the doctor - you have to learn to live with your chronic lower back pain. Also, patients should be able to choose their own physiotherapy place.

An awesome centre for Pain Management

I am thankful to my Physician for referring me to Healthpointe as I was in tremendous pain and lack of movement caused by frozen shoulder following a Motor Vehicle Accident. I’m thankful to Dr Tina Khanlar & Physiotherapist Kacy Nishimura who helped me getting out of pain and I’m now able to do 90% of my activities. Shout out for front desk very polite and accommodating staff. Healthpointe is indeed a safe place for patients as staff is taking all the precautions during COVID-19 for the safety.

Took a little while to get an appointment but they seem excellent.
Clean office, friendly staff. Would highly recommend this office.

Really enjoy being shuffled around from doctor to doctor so that they can tell me that despite my crippling back pain, I need to be working before they prescribe me a painkiller. My explanation that i cant currently work because I'm in too much pain was apparently not understood. I am furious right now, what a waste of time, money, and effort. You know how much pain I was in just GETTING to the clinic? How dare they just shuffle me around so they can all get their government paycheques for another patient. Legitimately disgusted at this place and its treatment (or lack thereof).
Seriously, just go the states, none of these canadian doctors want to help you, they just want that government money from seeing you.

I used to think this was a great place and good service. Now I don’t know what is happening over there as I had an appointment in mid June to freeze my back only thing it didn’t work this time But had another appointment (phone) on July 20 and discussing my opinion, we decided on the prp injection for my back and was told that the office would call me and set up the appointment. So I wait and wait finally I called Dr. Aly he said to call his assistant Holly and she would set it up. I waited a week, so again I called and left a message it says somebody will contact you in 24 hrs but that didn’t happen so I wait feeling frustrated. Someone finally called at the end of July said we are just setting up Dr. Aly’s schedule for August. Ok great think they should phone back soon, they didn’t I waited another week I left another message and I’m still waiting. They are horrible at communicating with their patients. Now it’s August 12/20 and I’m still waiting for a call back. I don’t care if they have me scheduled for September or later but communication is keys. This is not appropriate if they say they will return your call with in 24hrs they should

I recently became Dr. Irvines' patient. I have multiple illnesses so it takes a lot of knowledge and patience to sort out my many symptoms. Dr. Irvine has been a kind and attentive doctor. When I have spoken with him it has always been a positive experience. I would highly recommend Dr. Irvine as a chronic pain physican.

I always know I get the most professional care at Healthpointe. Everyone is always so kind and pleasant. Tahisha is, hands down, the most amazing physiotherapist in town. She evaluates the issue, explains what is going on, and how she will address the problem. Love her and I’ve recommended many people to go see her and not one of them regretted it.

Dr. Clarke is an exceptional physician. He is very thorough and explains things very well. I always leave knowing I have gotten the best care.

I recently came into Health Pointe a week or so ago. All the staff were very professional and courteous. It was a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely would recommend anyone experiencing pain or stiffness check this place out. Gary

This was my first visit and my appointment was with Dr. Cheung. He really took the time to listen to my concerns, provide me with insight into the back pain I've been struggling with for almost a year and guidance on steps to get better. Overall extremely happy with my visit!

Unprofessional experience on 1/3 doctors that i saw. Not a solutions based practice. I will pay for private from now on.

I got called to come in due to a cancellation. The wait times are generally 1-3 months for an appointment and my referral was put in only a week ago so I took the appointment. I'm in chronic pain so I was excited to get the call. I came half way across the city to meet with Dr. Cheung and he made me feel like I was wasting his time. He told me that because I was in so much pain that he couldnt help me. He said well if I was to give an epidural injection for pain that I would have to lay flat for half an hour and questioned if I could which clearly he see that I could not. He seemed very cocky and just wanted me out of the clinic. Didnt advise me on pain management at all. Medications, therapy, any suggestions would have been helpful. What a waste of time.

I have been seeing Dr Irvine for about a year. He is very personable, he takes the time to explain procedures, discuss medical results and answer any questions or concerns.
I have the upmost respect for the staff at Healthpointe.

Telephone staff need to get more training for better customer service skills. Your dealing with patients dealing with a variety of pain and health concerns. Horrible horrible horrible. I was treated horrible for a follow up appointment.

I have been seeing Dr Shane Hoeber for my back pain. The clinic staff is really good. Its hardly 5 minutes that i waited and then i was taken straight to the exam room. And what a wonderful doctor Dr Shane is. He took his time to explain to me what is actually going on with my back and then explained available treatment options. He is one of the doctors who believs that patient needs to be educated properly so that they can make an informed decisions for them self. During my appointments i never felt that he is in a rush, instead he took his time and answer each and every single question until i was satisfied. I just wish that I could have seen Dr Shane before my surgery and with his care it would have been avoidable. Best doctor in Edmonton I have met so far. 5 stars

I had a terrible experience. Over a year ago I saw Mr. Clarke about a hip issue. Another health professional told me I likely have a tear in my labrum in my hip. I was referred to Mr. Clarke from my GP. I told him what happened and he rudely told me there was no way I had a labrum tear, I was dumb for thinking that, and proceeded to give me exercises and said come back in 8 weeks if there is no progress. The exercises he gave me put me in extreme pain, crying myself to sleep, worsening my injury. I called 5 weeks later to book a follow up but couldn't even get through their phone systems to a human.
Now, a year and a half later, I have been diagnosed with a tear in my labrum. My recovery was delayed by over a year because of his ignorance and I have been in incredible pain since. HealthPointe was the biggest waste of time. Would not recommend.

The doctor that saw me was the most ignorant and cold doctor I have come across. Very high feeling of himself, like it was a disgrace to have to deal with me. Would not listen to my answers of his questions and cut me off before I could finish. He also did not seem to have any respect for my local orthopaedic surgeon.

Was referred to Dr. Irvine almost 2years ago and he has helped soo much. The office is always professional and helpful if ever have questions. I thanked my family doctor for the referral to this clinic and especially Dr. Irvine.

I was unfortunatley sick this winter and had to cancel my appointment twice each time I followed their rules and called to cancel well within their 24 hour period. Now I am told they don't want to help me because no one there wanted to pick up their messages and left me in the cold with no treatment or help

I was made to feel welcomed and there was never a long wait. Dr Nash was a very pleasant and informative and caring Dr. I would highly recommend him and his staff are amazing.

I was sent here about a year ago, I didn’t know what to make of the therapy I was expected to accept. I felt like I had no options regarding pain management. In fact I missed my last appointment because I didn’t enjoy the nerve therapy the Doctor decided to use on my arms and legs. The painful zaps are worse on one side yet my results appeared normal. I question if I was expected to attend these appointments for my health or for the clinic pocket book. Well if the clinic expects someone to undergo such unpleasant therapy the least they could do is provide a prescription or explanation as to why they want to shock you with electrical currents. I did not like the Doctor, he is still there, I believe he’s taken on a new lead role of addictions councillor and should ask for a pain history before the patient is treated, asking a chronic pain patient to describe pain while taking prescriptions is just strange to me. I wouldn’t expect a miracle out of this clinic for pain, not even if your willing to undergo shock therapy. Your on your own for prescriptions, the Government has made it impossible to obtain treatment without a bias opinion. However the physician is able to continue so long as they have a specialist backing them up. You may or may not get it from this clinic. I won’t be going back here. It really does worry me that shocking someone seems normal. I’ll continue with treatment from my family Doctor, Thanks.

Do not see "Dr" Knash, he is extremely unprofessional, prescribes and recommends medications that react dangerously with each other, ignored my thoughts and concerns and dismissed me out of hand, showed no empathy towards me. He has no interest in helping people. Find somewhere else to manage your pain, this place cannot help you.

I received ongoing care for a number of years by professional and caring staff. Because of this care, I am back to doing what I love to do.

I received professional and courteous attention to my ailment. I will be continuing education and treatment with your knowledgeable staff.

My mother was referred by her doctor for Physio.she saw Tahisha which was fine she didn't really do much. The horror was with the athletic therapist girl who was working with my mother on her excercises. Kelsey was the lady supposed to be helping but instead she was too busy laughing at her phone to show her the excercises and help my mother correctly and as a result she ended up over stretching her back and is now facing more back problems as a result. When I asked her to help my mother she would show her once and walk away. Not the service you hope to recieve at all from a MEDICAL CLINIC! My mother left in more pain than when she got there for the appointment.

If I could give this a negative star rating, I would. Dr. Cheung is extremely unprofessional, rude, inconsiderate, and down right mean; to say the least. My mom had an appointment this week and after hearing about the way she was treated and made to feel about herself was absolutely disgusting. He showed zero compassion and was not willing to help at all, also asking completely irrelivent questions, again extremely unprofessional. We will be spreading the word as well, we are human beings and no person should be made to feel the way my mom had to feel that day.

Thanks you so much for your time Dr. Irvine. I too want to write a detailed review of my experience here at HealthPointe in Edmonton. I received very friendly service from the front staff as well as the doctor. I was listened to and was asked relevant questions regarding my long lasting health issues.

Dr. Irvine was very knowledgeable about pain and pain management and he took the time required to understand my many health issues. He explained things to me that I had not known prior to seeing him that gave me a better understanding of pain and its treatment overall. I realize that there is no quick fixes, what works for one, may not work for another.

Although I do receive pain reduction with my current narcotic pain medication, Dr. Irvine has prescribed some new things to try and it is my hope that in conjunction with these new pain medications that I will be able to decrease the narcotic by 50% or possibly more. He IS NOT taking me off the long term pain medication that does still offer relief, even though many doctors seem to understand that they are to stop prescribing narcotics to chronic pain patients with non cancerous pain. This Government push to prevent overdoses by stopping or severely limiting narcotics to patients who have been on them for years is not solving the issue. I personally feel that as a society, we are pushing people to street drugs by not continuing with effective medication that has given people a quality of life. Cutting people off of narcotics just because of a societal issue is not the answer either. Dr. Irvine is trying other things with me in hopes I can reduce the amount of narcotic I need to function on a daily basis. I am certainly open to this as I really don't like being on the narcotic, however knowing that if what I currently take ends up being the only relief I get, he will continue with it, gives me comfort in knowing I will not be left hanging, which is certainly the impression I received from my GP (Whom I do highly respect).

Although I am new to HealthPointe, I am certainly optimistic after my first visit with them. I received very friendly and attentive service. I will update this review as I progress with treatment. I do sincerely hope that if you are referred here you keep and open mind.

I am taking the time to write a very thorough review for this clinic because it is the best medical team I’ve ever dealt with and all of these negative reviews DO NOT reflect any of the experiences I’ve had. I think some of these reviewers may have been looking for a quick, magical fix to their chronic issues and are taking it out on medical professionals who aren’t capable of performing miracles.

I initially saw Dr. Cheug when I was referred to this clinic. Prior to my visit, I read reviews and by the time my appointment came, I was very nervous due to the large amount of negative reviews for Dr. Cheung. Both of my experiences with him were amazing, so don’t believe everything you read.

Dr. Cheung was extremely thorough, caring, attentive, listened to everything I had to say and answered every one of my questions. He’s very serious and not the kind of doctor who is going to coddle you. I respect that and prefer it in someone who is dealing with my care. When I came back and told him that the medication he’d prescribed had really helped, he was SO genuinely happy for me. He cares and he wants to help those who are willing to actually listen to his recommendations and try what he is suggesting.

Dr. Cheung referred me to to see the team of Dr. Irvine, Dr. Yen and Brooke Jensen. All 3 are just as amazing as Dr. Cheung.

Dr. Irvine is so incredibly knowledgeable and so willing to explain everything he’s recommending, it feels more like an education session than an appointment. He really put me at ease and spent a great deal of time with me, going over everything I’d tried, as well as his recommendations. The medications he recommended have changed my life because they are helping so much.

Dr. Yen is the best doctor I’ve ever had. He makes you feel comfortable, more like you’re talking to a friend than your doctor. He’s so caring and smart. He really believes in treating the whole body and mind, rather than just the symptoms of your problem. He suggests both holistic and medical types of treatment which I find extremely rare. He spends an incredible amount of time trying to help, asking questions and discussing possible treatments. He’s helped me more than any other doctor I’ve seen and I think he cares about his patients more than any other doctor I’ve seen.

Brooke Jensen is also amazing. She comes in the room, already familiar with your file and discusses different treatment plans until you’re comfortable with everything. She’s very thorough and you can tell she’s extremely educated about everything she says. She helps you set realistic goals and the fact that she works as a team with the other doctors dealing with your file, makes you feel like you’re getting the absolute best treatment plan possible.

The receptionists, nurses and everyone I’ve dealt with at HealthPointe have been extremely friendly, polite and efficient. It makes an experience I normally HATE (doctors appointments) so much easier on my stress and anxiety levels. I also love that they have a line where you can leave a message for the nurses, because they will look into your file and the issue you’re having and an actual nurse calls you back ASAP.

This clinic and team of specialists is a rare gem. If you’re willing to actually TRY anything they suggest and you’re serious about your health and getting better, (and you’re not just looking for pain medications) this is the best place in the city for chronic pain and joint issues.
