If I could give 0 stars to this place I would.
I had an appointment booked for 9: 30am. I was supposed to see Dr. Jan Hen-Boisen.
She was 17 minutes late to appointment. When I brought this to her attention she told me I had an attitude and that she was not going to serve me and that she’s on HER time and not mine and that she was not coming to me.
INSANE. You just roll in 17 minutes late to an appointment, no apology, NOTHING and then you tell me you won’t look at my dog.
I was warned about your entitlement and I decided to give you a chance and I deeply regret it. I will now go to a vet that is responsible and sticks to appointment times and is considerate of their patients time and money. Do yourselves a favour and look elsewhere for a vet that gives a damn about their bed side manner and their patients TIME.

Also get off your power trip and attitude from you is astounding when you’re simply employed at this clinic, you do not own it.

AS WELL, slamming the exam room door #2 and telling a client that you’re so sick and tired of people is NOT appropriate either. You hate your job and you hate your profession- RETIRE, JAN. But stop taking your frustration out on clients when they ask you why you’re 17 minutes late to a SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. It’s a poor business practice.

I have been dealing with Healthy Paws since I discovered that Dr Shelby Kimura was a major part of the team. We have been seeing her for over 12 years from when she was at McNight. The staff she associated with are always professional and great to deal with. Dr Jan is living up to those high standards as well as the rest of the staff that we have delt with.

I made an appt for 5. Showed up 10 minutes earlier to fill the forms. Waited for 30 minutes in the room for the doctor to come. Just gave up and left. The receptionist didn’t even bother. When I called to give feedback, first I was kept on hold and then Sabina said there was an emergency so my pet didn’t take priority.

I have always received excellent care at Healthy Paws Forward Veterinary services for all my pets and highly recomend their services.

I had the pleasure of experiencing the exceptional services provided by Healthy Paws and I am extremely satisfied with the level of care and professionalism I received. Their prices are reasonable, and the staff is incredibly meticulous and patient, making sure that my dog, Archy, is always at ease during even the most intrusive procedures. I am grateful to have found such a caring and professional team and cannot recommend them enough. The dedication and care provided from the front desk all the way to the veterinarians is truly remarkable and greatly appreciated.

We have appreciated the excellent care from Dr. Jan and her team with every visit we have had over the last couple of years. So much better than any past vet care we have had with others (we have an active 14 year old Keeshond and our new 18 month old Bernese Mountain Dog). Thank you!

Love the staff here, Odin is a hyper german shepard who loves to bark and let everyone know he's around. The staff took great care of him when he was in to be neutered, and the price was reasonable and bag on what was quoted. There is no pressure for the extras that are recommended. Not just friendly staff but staff that care. They made sure we understood everything they were doing and kept us in the loop the whole time our dog Henry was there. Dr. Jan and Sabina love each and every pet like it's their own? They go the extra mile to make you and your pet feel comfortable

I love this clinic. They took really good care of my dog when he got injured. I really appreciate how they took their time to understand my dog and they were very professional. I also felt their prices are very fair for treatment and they didn’t push things that were not necessary. I will be returning to this vet with my dog AND cat in the future. Came here because there was a lot of people in my neighbourhood that recommended this place. And I was not disappointed! This place was great. And great priced! Will be going here regularly now. Stay away from beddington vet.

Both my senior rescue dog and my junior dog receive excellent care from the wonderful folks at ‘Healthy Paws Forward’ The staff are very caring and knowledgeable.

Took my puppy Muffin there for the first time and they were very patient, explained everything, offered options without pressure. Came out with good options for my boy. I’m very happy with our visit.

It was my first time to visit. Everyone is friendly and treat my dog Henry just like their own family, especially Dr. Jan, she is amazing, very patient, nice and professional. Definitely recommend this nice clinic.

I had a really good experience at Healthy Paws Forward when my puppy had a reaction to his first vaccines. The staff were extremely caring and Dr. Jan Hen-Boisen even took the time to call a few days later to follow up and ask how the puppy was doing.

I love how Healthy Paws Forward is open on the weekends too - it seems that many vet clinics/hospitals in the area are closed on the weekends.

When i booked an appointment for my dog to get neuter and i was given a fixed price but then they gave me a phone call saying that i have to pay an extra 100. After that my total 420 and i was told 345 before the extra charge. I gave them a call and then said that we cant do anything. They made up some excuses on why they had to add an extra charge. I would not recommend going to their clinic for any reason unless you want to get ripped off.

This place is amazing! We take our 1 Boston terrier here and now our cat will be going here as well. All the staff has been super friendly and helpful and answer all of your questions.

I can't say enough about this hospital and it's staff.
The entire team are absolutely wonderful. They care for their patients as though they were their own kids.
The knowledge and experience is outstanding. I'm so very very grateful for the love and care they've always shown to my animals. Thank you to such a wonderful bunch of humans that continously give their all.

I took my 1.34kg, senior ferret to Dr Jan because he had diarrhea for 24 hours. I mentioned more than once that I was extremely concerned he had a GI bacterial infection because of the extreme, foul odour of the diarrhea. I was offered X-Ray, urinalysis, bloodwork, but no test to confirm whether there was an elevated level of bacteria in his stool. I said I wanted to start him on antibiotics and medications to lower acid levels. She said he would have to be sick for 5 days before she would prescribe them. 5 days of diarrhea is devastating to a senior ferret. When I went to Dewinton pet hospital and shared my concerns, they were able to run a fecal panel the same day and found there was such an elevated level of bacteria in my ferret's stool that it could be interfering with his ability to absorb nutrients and water. I don't know why I was not offered the same test by Dr Jan when I repeatedly said I was concerned about bacterial infection. I will be going to Dewinton from now on because they at least check to see if your concerns are valid.

Staff are really friendly and helpful. I'm traveling to Germany with our cat. Marcy and Jan have been exceptionally helpful and patient with my worries about having everything correct to enter Europe. Thanks again

3 stars solely for the staff, they’re pleasant and great to deal with.

However, I am not a fan of Dr Jan. She has no compassion, or anything. Her attitude is subpar, and honestly really unprofessional when dealing with clients.

First time here and the staff was super wonderful and you could tell they really enjoy coming to work. They were super understanding and really made sure you knew all the details. After few different vet offices, I found they were the best to come bring my cat to. Definitely recommend for their great service and care!

I recently adopted my first ferret. After some looking around, Healthy Paws was recommended a few times specifically for their experience with ferrets. So I decided to give them a try for first vaccines and a checkup.

It was amazing! I was so impressed with the care and knowledge the vet had. We probably could have talked for hours about ferret husbandry alone. You can tell that they definitely care about these animals.

I appreciate that they don't just tell you what they recommend, but why they recommend it. Kero and I will definitely be sticking with them

I visited this vet clinic today with my recently adopted cat, Mochi, who had some GI issues. The animal hospital near my home was fully booked so we had to come drive a little further to get here. When I called in to ask for an appointment, they were super accommodating and friendly. This was my first time visiting a vet with Mochi since she was adopted and I had a lot of anxiety prior to, but it soon resolved as I walked in.

The receptionist, Ashley was very kind, welcoming, and helpful. Ashley walked me through some pet insurance advice, the costs of supplies, and procedures. Both Dr. Jan and Ashley were very informative and thorough with the take home instructions. They went above and beyond to assist me with my worried first-time-cat-owner concerns and needs! You can tell they really care about their work and I highly recommend this clinic to anyone nearby! They will take great care of your animals.

I brought my dog here for a dental cleaning and tooth extraction. The entire team was professional and took great care in keeping me updated about his surgery. The discharge teaching was thorough, and they went over all of the lab values with me and explained everything in detail. Amazing team here.

A fantastic vet. I took my kitten here to be spayed and they have been amazing with answering all of my follow up questions and keeping in contact to make sure the healing process is going well. Everyone I spoke with was very kind and knowledgable, I would definitely reccomend this vet.

I have brought my kittens here to get them spayed, and now unfortunately my dog to get his paw splinted. Every time that I have come to this vet it has been extremely pleasant. The customer service is top notch, From door front to the nurses to the vets them selves. They really work with you to help your pet receive the best care while also to helping your wallet as well if you need it.

They offer paybright and another service if you need assistance.

I must say this is the best vet I've ever dealt with, and will always recommend.

I took my ferret here for a check up as she was not feeling well. The clinic fit me in that day.
First of all the cost of a visit at this Clinic is much less than any other clinic I have called as ferrets are considered ‘exotic’ animals.
The technician at the desk was extremely friendly, as was the other tech I encountered.
The Vet was punctual and listened to my concerns. She did NOT try to push various tests that would rack up a larger bill. She educated me on diet and the medicines she was prescribing. She kindly typed up detailed Discharge Instructions and direction on how to introduce baby chicken food for future stomach upsets.
All said and done this vet visit, with a glucose test, and all of the necessary medications cost me the same amount as a check up at a 24 hour animal hospital. I am very pleased with this clinic and will be bringing any of my pets here in the future.

Excellent customer service upon arrival and thru out the treatment for our pet. It was also very quick to get an appt. The staff were all very professional.

I have seen both Dr. Shelby and Dr. Jan now for my cat, and they are exceptional vets. They go above and beyond not only in vet care, but with compassion and genuine care for you and your pet. By far the best place to go when your pals need some extra care!

I've taken my cats here a few times and the staff there are fantastic! Very friendly and have the utmost care for all pets! I have even recieved calls asking how my cat was recovering. Nothing but great experiences here.

Genuine care for the fur children with detailed and personalised discharge instructions with a follow up call everytime to check up on how they're doing. It feels genuine and sincere and is a rare thing to find. Dr Jan and the team are fantastic and so glad we have them to look after our three dogs!

Since I got my first pup Pablo, we always went to this clinic as they were close to our place. They were able to handle Pablo’s temperament, and gave him a comfortable surrounding. I adopted Pico on 2019, and noticed him scratching/itching excessively. Dr. Jan definitely helped Pico and I regarding his itching issue. After several discussion, changing his diet multiple times; Pico’s itchiness/allergy significantly decreased. Karis is so helpful, as she did me favour and talked to Royal Canin; they were able to give me recommendation of what to feed Pico. Pico is now on vet food, and doing very well! Thank you Dr. Jan and your team!

I really feel like I am getting the best care for my dog and her well being. Dr. Jan is always curtious, kind and compassionate as are the staff of HPFVC.

Dr. Shelby has been so amazing. My boy Blue was attacked at the dog park, luckily Dr. Shelby was there and witnessed the altercation. She was able to get Blue to the clinic and attend to him, stapling and assessing him.

Blue also had some doggy breath issues at the time and she recommended some food and water additive that completely cleared it up.

I will recommend Dr. Kimura and Healthy Paws Forward too everyone and will use them exclusively now.

Was into an exam room at the appt time (no waiting like at other clinics). Courteous, professional service from a vet that outlined a variery of treatment options that focused on the wellbeing of my pet. Clear explanations of each option with the pros and cons. When I chose one, the day the treatment happened (a surgery), I was kept informed of the progress and how my pet was doing, by the actual vet. Excellent communication by all the clinic staff. So refreshing to be informed immediately after the surgery. In short, I was very happy with the staff, the clinic and the treatment. I will certainly be back when I need ferret and cat help again.

Everyone was very helpful and friendly. They really helped us through a hard time loosing our dog. They even sent a condolence card after. Very thoughtful!

Very impressed with the care we have received. Friendly and welcoming, explains everything and provides written instructions before we leave. Comprehension care but not pushy when it comes to recommendations. It doesn't take long to get an appointment and we never feel rushed when we are there. The front staff are very helpful and obviously love animals. I love my cat and I don't mind the cost, but it's wonderful that the rates are very reasonable. I would highly recommend.

Brought our puppers in for a couple checks and she has such bad anxiety when it comes to vet visits but when she got there she was put at ease by the care and patience of the staff there! The staff explained everything for us and had our pup better and on her feet happy as a clam! Thank you!

Dr. Jan is an amazing vet. She listens and cares very much for our fur-baby and our family. I always feel like I am in good hands when we visit her. Very disappointed with this clinic. I was referred to this clinic by the Snap Program for the neutering of my cat; this program is for low income people. On the day of surgery I was asked that if I wanted lab tests before surgery for my cat, I would have to pay $150. Of course I told them I couldn't afford that expense at the moment, they said no problem. Then I was asked that if at the moment of surgery if my cat's heart stopped for any reason, if I wanted CPR to be administered to the cat, I would need to pay $100! I was shocked! So I answered, "well, if the cat is dying of course I want you to resuscitate my cat. " So basically, if I wouldn't agree to pay the $100 in case my cat was dying they would let him die! So they see a cat dying on the surgery table, but the owner didn't agree to pay and they are going to let the animal die? How can they do business with your pet's life? Everyone would give CPR to any person or animal for free! It is a life and you do not put a price on it! Then I went for a check up after surgery since my cat was super down and sad after it, and the doctor noticed that the cone was super tight and attached with tape, and the poor cat was suffering. She removed the cone and fixed it and said "oh I am sorry they put it like that"! So my cat was in distress for 5 days because her "staff" didn't do a proper job! Since it is my first cat I didn't know how/if I could remove it. After she fixed the cone, my cat was finally happy at home. Then to cap it all.she told me that he had a big belly, and that he might have worms so she gave me one pill for $32 dollars! Only for one tiny pill. I did my research and those pills are sold in twos or more in the package and are way less expensive! She knows we were referred as low income and still she charged super expensive for one pill. Never going back to that clinic again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Dr Hans was fantastic. However since she left March of last year this place has gone downhill. I was not a fan of the new doctor found still not pushy but prices went up significantly. I needed to go twice after and they had closed early so had to find a different vet. I’ve since decided I won’t be returning.
