Hearth + Home Fireplace & Renovations

We purchased the Morso woodstove from this business via our contractor. The overall installation and customer service experience was terrible. Multiple missteps happened along the install process which could be considered a one-off however the worst part was the lack of communication. The left hand doesn’t seem to know what the right hand is doing. To top it off, they never mentioned or provided us with a WETT inspection certificate. When our home insurance company asked for it, it was a long process to get one (still waiting for the document) and they charged us an extra fee of a few hundred dollars for it. I will not be going back to this business nor will I recommend them to my family and friends.

Phoned a number of Fireplace service and repair companies to hopefully repair what looked like a pilot light issue before Christmas. All the companies except Hearth and Home Fireplace could not send anyone until the new year. They came the next day, (Dec 21) sending Judah Schwarz who was very punctual, giving us lots of notice when he would arrive. Once arrived, he diagnosed the problem very quickly and was able to fix the issue (Thermopile, and switch wiring). He also cleaned the unit, including the glass enclosure. All in all, it was a great experience at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend Hearth and Home and Judah for your Fireplace repairs.

Recently worked with Hearth + Home to replace a gas insert in our existing fireplace. Tim was very helpful in our initial meeting, and the process was very smooth throughout. The quote was sent quickly, and the work was scheduled in a reasonable time. The installation team was very efficient and left the space tidy. We love the new insert!

We just installed an Inspire 2000 stove with a stone base in our home in Winter 2023. We are so happy to have chosen Hearth and Home to do the job. Matt Ling was our salesman and he was knowledgeable, responsive and very professional. Mitchell took charge of managing the project installation and Lindsey was our installer. All of them were very professional along the way. We had a small hiccup due to the manufacturer (not H&Hs fault) and H&H took care of the issue until it was resolved snd went above and beyond to offer a temporary solution. Our stove looks and works amazing. We would recommend them to anyone wanting to install a stove or fireplace in their home.

Truly, I have so many positive things to say about my experience at Hearth + Home. My wife and I were looking for an electric fireplace for our basement development. While we had hoped to go the gas route, electric ended up being the more financially viable option. Having visited a number of other showrooms around town a chance visit to Hearth + Home set us on the right path. We were lucky enough to have Jason Meyer assist us on the floor. He was attentive and knowledgeable and really listened to our needs. He provided us with a number of different options and allowed us the time to make an informed decision to best suit our needs. On a follow-up visit, Jason assisted us again. It was only at this point that we learned that he was company president. He had considered out needs and suggested an option the Modern Flames Landscape Pro Multi for our basement. This brand and model wasn't even in the showroom yet so he sent us to a supplier to take a look at what we could expect. We could not be happier with the end result. This fireplace is loaded with features, high quality parts and an impressive warranty. Even though Hearth + Home did not have any units in stock Jason assured us that we could purchase one as soon as they were available. He delivered the product as promised at the price we agreed to! Our renovation has taken a little longer to complete but we finally installed it and the finished product is every bit as impressive as Jason promised.

We have a 3-year maintenance contract with Hearth & Home to annually inspect and clean our gas fireplace. This year, the company sent a technician we’d not seen before. We were very impressed with this young fellow, Judah Schwartz. He gave us a heads-up that he was on his way 30 minutes prior to arrival; he was right on time! He is one of the most respectful, courteous and conscientious young people with which we have dealt in quite a long time. I called Garrett at H&H to let him know what a gem they have in this young fellow. Ergo, this review.

Overall a good experience. A few miscommunications along the way but in the end everything was done well and on budget.

They came back and serviced an issue with my fireplace nine years after it was installed! Great team there and thanks.

My fireplace wouldn't turn on so I booked an appointment with Hearth and Home to come and look at it. It was their busiest time of the year, but they were able to get me an appointment within a few days. The service technician was very polite and took a lot of care with our home. He made sure to keep a cloth down where he was working so he wouldn't damage the floors. He also took the time to clean everything as he went. I was very impressed with the service that he provided. I would definitely recommend Hearth and Home to anyone that needs their fireplaces serviced.

Gas fireplace required annual service and cleaning. Easy to book an appointment. Staff followed up with cancellation opening. Overall service is fantastic: Jean-Luc was very professional in terms of customer interaction and work done on the fireplace.

Hearth and Home did a great job on reframing my fireplace. I was extremely impressed by Justin Crawford's attention to detail, his focus on quality and his willingness to go above and beyond to do the job right. I will happily recommend Hearth and Home to anyone who needs fireplace services in Calgary!

Matt Ling was expertly familiar with the products and patiently provided all information I needed to decide on what model was right for me. Mitch Langen and Jason Kampala were very reliable and always available to answer any questions regarding the installation process. The tradesmen involved were of the highest standard and made the construction and installation as smooth-sailing as it could be! Bravo to your team!

I do NOT recommend, to anyone and everyone, that you engage in any business transaction, with Hearth + Home Fireplace & Renovations, here, in the City of Calgary, in the Province of Alberta.
I have added some pictures, that show before, during, and after, of what the folks at Hearth + Home Fireplace & Renovations were unable to install, with the product they had on display in their showroom.
The pictures show first, the appearance of my fireplace, before they arrived and began any work.
Second, their display in their showroom, that they promised to me, they would duplicate for my fireplace. And then, what they actually installed, which as the picture shows, the color and texture of the tile is quite different than what they promised.
And third and fourth, the state of my fireplace when they, the folks at Hearth + Home Fireplace & Renovations, were finished.
My horrible experience, with the folks at Hearth + Home Fireplace & Renovations, dragged on for six months.
They finally issued my $2000 deposit which was 50% of the total quote.
However, as the last picture shows, that is how the folks at Hearth + Home Fireplace & Renovations decided, was acceptable, to leave my fireplace when they were done.
They have indicated, via email correspondence, they have no intention of putting my fireplace back to the state it was, before they started.
This took place, here, in the City of Calgary, in the Province of Alberta.

We are from eastern Saskatchewan and gave Matt and his team a chance to quote on a gas peninsula fireplace for our master bedroom and a big wood burning fireplace for our great room to go in our new timber framed home. Matt and Jason were very knowledgeable on the different brands of products they could offer and really broke it down into pros and cons of each brand and model we were considering. And to top it off the pricing we received from Hearth and Home Fireplace was significantly less than what we could find here in Saskatchewan. It was easily worth the 2000km trip to pick everything up, and would do the same again in a heartbeat. Thank you Matt, Jason, and the supporting cast at Hearth and Home!

Roger the technician was very knowledgeable and informative about the problem I had with a fireplace at my home. Arrived on time and fixed and cleaned the unit. Worked and looked brand new!

I come here once every two weeks with my boss Alex Ford. The owner, Jason, is dedicated to his business and loves making homes a little brighter. If I was looking for a fireplace and to work with people who really care about their work, I'd come here.

Highly recommend these guys. Gave us a timely estimate, provided lots of options and info. Installed our wood stove within the promised timeframe. Installers were super professional. They were very quick to resolve a minor issue we had with the fan after the fact. Great company!

Bought a lovely (expensive) Morso wood-burning fireplace there and it's still going great. Just called today and asked them about getting it and the chimney cleaned and their Sales people gave me two names (and their phone numbers) right away. Great folks.
