Love this course for the view and the walk, narrow fairways and hazards make this a challenging course. I broke 100 so I'm pretty happy with the game here.

We had a great round at Heatherglen. The wind definitely made some fairways hard to hit today, but the staff was friendly and very hospitable. We will definitely return for another round.

It’s a shame they don’t allow you to book or play nine holes. Should state that on the website.

When they went from 27 to 18 holes i thought they would make the 18 good.wrong.trees have overgrown the course layout.everything is narrow and wind makes it really difficult.greens are ok if you dont mind 15-20 unrepaired divots. Carts are garbage.cart paths are in disrepair.tee boxes are uneven.ground under repair all over.sand traps are actually good.everything else is meh.

1. As other people have stated, there are about eight ball cleaners on this course, absolutely not acceptable at all.
I even talked to the Marshall about this, and he told me all the carts have a ball cleaner, I responded with telling him this is a flat course most of the people are walking it, what are they supposed to do? He says that's a good point I'll have to talk to someone about that.
Also if you do want to rent a cart its $25? Yeah I don't think so.

2. The maintenance guys were literally riding on the pathway of our hole as we were on the tee box literally in our backswing.
Unbelievable.

Third issue, there's no hole layout anywhere? Not on the distance marker at the holes nowhere so if you've never played the course good luck no one which way the dog leg is going.

And if somebody in management responds to this review and says well if you had a cart you'd have the layout, if you had a cart you have a ball cleaner, you guys are totally missing the point this is a flat course people want to walk, you literally have to wash your ball in a puddle.

Golfed August 16, course is in great shape, there are some challenging holes. Staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. I would recommend playing at HeatherGlen

Great course it is always fun and becomes hard as the year goes on I would most definitely recommend
Go play it you’ll have tons of fun

Defiantly not worth the price point. Greens were not in great shape and the Marshall was constantly pressuring the pace of play asking us to skip are tees shots and drop on the fairway. Finished 18 holes in under 4 hours and felt rushed the entire time. Overall terrible experience from start to finish.

It's a pretty good golf course in Calgary. However, it must be one of the hidden gem for the boggy player, not for the beginner.

Course is decent. Beer cart we saw 4 times in 8 holes. My only complaint honestly was injury occurred due to invisible hole on the 9th for irrigation. Was covered by grass so I couldn’t see the foot deep hole. Hurt my ankle quite bad sadly.

Changing the rating as the course quality has been dropping off the last couple of years. For the $100 you would pay, I would expect much better conditions

Staff is fantastic and helpful. Very friendly too.

Course is in great condition.

Update July 10 2023.
I was very disappointed that the pro shop said that they no longer fill the water on the ball/club washer on the power carts and they were only there because they got the carts from another course. Either this guy didn't want to do or have it done or this changed in the last two weeks.

Nice golf course. There was a little bit of yellow grass as the result of lack of watering. The old building needs to be renovated.

3.5 stars rounded up. This is a decent course with some challenging holes and well-maintained greens. The back 9 is a bit confusing to navigate and could use some better signage. The green fees are very reasonable, however we thought the carts were a little pricey at $50. They are electric, which is nice compared to the city carts, and have GPS screens. Unfortunately these were completely useless as they only turned on while the cart was moving and would shut down as soon as you stopped. For $50 I would expect the GPS to work. If you have a personal GPS golf tracker make sure you update it before you go as the course recently switched from three 9’s to one 18. All in all we enjoyed our round and would give it another try.

Overall not the worst but definitely not the best. I’ve heard good things about the course in the past, but more recently the reports are less than favourable and I can understand why. Take this with a grain of salt as it’s still very early in the season, and my first time playing Heatherglen.

The course is pretty open, not that challenging aside from the greens which are very quick, so not hard to read but have zero forgiveness which makes chip shots go back and forth if you’re not careful.

If the greens were slower and more difficult it would add some more depth to the course. But it’s a pretty standard course with not a lot of standout features aside from the mounds of dirt disguised as bluffs.
