Best restaurant in the city for celiacs! Love their fish tacos so much, I order it regularly.

The food was absolutely amazing and they have so many gf and vegan/vegetarian options it’s the perfect place for a group of people to go! Patricia is amazing and did such a fantastic job despite how busy it was, would definitely recommend making a reservation as the place is small

Finally checked out this spot, and I'm thrilled I did. I was craving some cheese empanadas, and this place totally delivered! The cheese was divine, and the empanada was hot, giving me that perfect cheese pull I was dying for. The sauces, especially the pirulo and cilantro, were amazing. Also, the yuca fries were so delicious with the dipping sauces! The coconut cake was good, but not something I would buy again. The pabellon was a bit of a letdown, but I'm looking forward to exploring more from their menu! It's a bit pricey, but totally worth it.

A group of us (including one celiac) dined here last night for the first time - it certainly won't be our last! The food was incredibly good. I've tried a few gluten free foods before and didn't enjoy them - you come to expect they aren't going to be very good. That isn't the case at all at Heaven - I wouldn't have even been able to tell the dishes we had were gluten free, they were so delicious. We had chips & assorted dips as a shared appetizer, followed by mains of quesadillas, arepas, tacos and chicken fingers - all were big hits. Yucca chips are my new favourite. We can't wait to go back!

10/10 will return and recommend this place to everyone. My husband ordered empanadas, my son had the tacos and I had an arepa.not only was the 100% gluten free thing a major win for myself and my son, but there was absolutely no compromise on flavour or texture, either.

We ended up buying bags of empanadas from the “heaven market” afterwards and a vanilla coconut cake, everything is phenomenal!

Really nice food— the empanadas were especially good! Had chorizo w cilantro sauce and it was one of the best I've had tbh. Had their National dish which was nice with their hot sauce

The arepa I had was good, though for the cost it would have been great if it came with a side of some sort. I'm not sure if it's worth it to visit again.

A very small place, dish specialties from South America, and all were very good. Caters to food allergies.

We were craving for exotic food and this one caught our eye as it is a Venezuelan restaurant. Nice location in the main action area of Calgary and that’s where good things end. Our server wasn’t friendly. I asked for recommendations and she had no input.

Food was not Venezuelan but felt like Mexican. Their national dish plate had rice, beans, Caribbean banana etc. Paid over $50 for sub par food and service.

I had the hang over soup, the fried yuca and my boyfriend had the pabellon.everything was delicious! We will come back yo try more dishes that look so good! Excellent service and atmosphere! We love it! ️

Don't eat here. The chef didn't have enough ingredients to serve our table of eight people and kept barking orders at the young girl who worked as a server and who should quit her job. She's too young to endure such stress from a nasty cook who must be anxious from working in a kitchen without enough staff to prepare meals for the full restaurant. Two people at our table ate 45 minutes after everyone else. The chef wanted the music loud. It was so noisy that we couldn't talk at our table so we asked the server to turn the volume down. The 'hangover' soup was a 'trash' of chicken and beef fat chunks (not beef meat) and 4 pieces of overcooked vegetables. It was the worst soup I've ever tasted. The person next to me didn't eat her soup either, and I ordered the squash soup, not the 'hangover' soup. The potato pancake that came with the soup had plastic stuck inside, no salt, and was not served with butter. It tasted horrible. One person at our table got a food item stuffed with cheese which he couldn't eat because he has a cheese allergy.

Delicious! We were visiting Calgary and wanted to check out a local gluten free restaurant for a family dinner. Heaven restaurant delivered! Every item was great and the whole menu is gluten free which is a treat when you have celiac disease. Thank you!

Went to Heaven just to try the Tres Leches. I had heard it was pretty good. Even the waitress said it was amazing.

Not that good I am afraid to say.

The cake was dry, so it looked like I had Nada De Tres Leches, not to mention is was also $11.

Found this absolute gem of a restaurant while visiting Calgary. Staff is absolutely wonderful. They are so kind and sweet. Even though I have a tomato allergy they were very accommodating. The food is delicious. The empanadas are perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The Pataconwich is amazing. It is a must try. Thank you for an incredible dining experience

We came here last week as I heard good things from a friend. We were pretty disappointed with our over all meals, especially for the price tag attached.
The appetizers were good, the cheese empanadas were yummy (although a bit pricey for the size) and the fries were also good.

I had an arepa which was $19 with no side included, my friend had thrice, beans & meat plate for $23. Over all both those were very bland and over priced for what it was. I’ve had arepas at some local food trucks that were amazing and super cheesy (which none of these had cheese) so to say I was disappointed would be an understatement.

Cute & very clean space which was a bonus. The server was nice but nothing to rave about. Unfortunately we probably won’t be back due to said things mentioned.

It’s interesting you can’t just take the feedback without being argumentative. But hey, people will read this and come to your restaurant due to your lack of customer service and will to understanding.
For starters, salt doesn’t fix “bland” flavour. There was no option to add cheese that I saw, I also wasn’t aware you are catering only to gluten friendly / dairy free customers and not everyone.
My complaint about prices are accurate because most places that serve sandwiches, burgers or any handheld food item does include a side. So you’re $19 price tag would be more appropriate with a side but alone it’s outrageous.
I’ve worked in the food industry and in fact my father owns a food truck, so yes, I get it and I actually probably understand prices, food quality, service and over head more than most people. You talking down to me definitely isn’t helping your business. I’ve had cheaper & better food so yes, you are expensive whether you choose to accept that or not. Due to your reply I will most definitely not be back and definitely not recommend anyone in trying your place.

Heaven has really surprised me the last few visits. Which makes me very happy as a celiac! A few years ago, when they first opened, I found their food to be a little bland and dry. But now, consistently I have been impressed by the quality of the food here and I am really happy they have seemed to have found their footing in the kitchen since my very first visit. Absolutely delicious. Will eat here again.

Delicious food, the mini empanadas and the plantain sandwiches were especially amazing. Cute restaurant with plenty of room and seating. Highly recommend! Right next to an ice cream shop, but their own desserts looked (and tasted!) so good, we didn't even go. Also happens to be completely celiac safe, confirmed this in person.

The food here is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend coming here. The yuca fries were a nice change of pace and tasted so good. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I had the plantain sandwich, and it was really tasty. The only thing was I told them I couldn't have eggs, and then was told at angrily that I didn't tell the waitress my allergies. So that wasn't great, but the food is delicious.

I am gluten free, my spouse is not. I have subjected this poor man to horrific GF food and this restaurant is serving non of that. Yuca bunuelos? We could eat a million. Empanadas? Out of this world. Fish tacos? To die for. Deserts? Amazing. If you are or even if you are not GF, do yourself a favour and try this restaurant!

Being from Central Florida, this restaurant was truly a taste of home. The empanadas were so crisp and tasty, while the pataconwich was so fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend dipping a little into tue cilantro sauce. (As someone who doesn't like cilantro, I was blown away by how good the sauces were. Many compliments to the chef!)

Our server happened to be the owner and was just a delightful person to chat with. She treated us really well and really enhanced the entire experience. Really looking forward to coming back here soon.

This place is so amazing, their food is gluten free, always a good service, good location and it feels like a happy place!

Me and my family have visited Heaven Restaurant several times since we discover it. We have ALWAYS been impressed by the quality of the food and the excellent attention. It is a good place to go anytime you feel like eating something healthy and with variety of taste. I recommend Heaven Restaurant with no doubts.

First time trying heaven restaurant and definitely not my last! It was a very welcoming environment and wonderful food all around to enjoy. But the more than friendly staff satisfying my needs was the cherry on top, lots of smiles and laughter.

I went to this place for my birthday. Wonderful service. The owners are so kind and really make sure you are catered to your best experience. There was a lot of healthy options that were delicious. Highly recommend!

I had the worst experience with this restaurant, my order never arrived & they were unwilling to help me with getting a refund. I will never support this place again.

Tasty Venezuelan food that offers frozen empanadas that you can take home and make yourself. Great choice for a quick snack or a full meal if you're down on 17th Ave SW.

Came here with my family to celebrate my dad's birthday. We met the whole family and got to know a lot about their food and culture. It was a bit pricey, but considering it's family owned and managed, it was worth the price!

Had the black bean and cheese empanadas and I'm already hooked! Will be back to get some pre-made ones. It was $40 for 5 empanadas, 2 dips and two ciders plus tip. A great little snack stop.

BEYOND AMAZING! The staff are amazing & helpful! The food is flavorful, filling and DELICIOUS! My child was just leaving the hospital with a new Celiac Disease Diagnosis, I hadn't had a chance to scour my kitchen yet and the staff here were fabulous, helpful and reassuring. I grabbed some fresh fruits & vegetables & Heavenly food for my child. THANK YOU!

A YEAR LATER
We now have a standing family habit of ordering a huge amount and plunking it in our freezer. Their empanadas are DELICIOUS! The lasagna is enough for two people. The Mac & Cheese tastes better than comfort food. Everything in their menu is incredibly well executed. Nothing tastes "Gluten Free", if you know what I mean. JUST TRY IT FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!

The server is very friendly and nice. The place is nice and clean. The food didn't impress me. I ordered a beef arepa and pabellon arepa. The beef was very dry, salty and needed more seasonings. Not much flavour to be honest. The beef empanadas need more flavour. My favourite thing from the restaurant was the Cilantro sauce.

Delicious empanadas and plantains and impeccable service. Eat in facilities are small. So happy we heard about this place.

Nice discovery during my Alberta vacation. I had the Mexican Chorizo Arepa and the fried Yuca cheese balls. Everything was so good and gluten free, as a celiac this was a perfect quick lunch option.

I came in tonight with my wife and sister in-law. And to my expectations was met and beyond. The meals was done perfectly and I the flavors were to die for. We left with full stomachs thank you. I am from sparwood bc and I would let all my.friends know and including my gluten free customer to come and get Traditional food. I will be back again

Great quality arepas, a bit overpriced in my opinion (15$ for one arepa? !), but quick and friendly service. They’re decent sized, enough for a meal for one person. The tres leches cake was also pretty good. It’s tough to find a good Venezuelan restaurant in Calgary, so I’d recommend this one for sure!

Awesome food completely gluten-free. The owner is the most pleasant person we have met. I would go there everyday if I could.

A lovely little restaurant, but so sad that their menu changed! They no longer serve my favourite appies platter - it was amazing. And the Pacotonwich were also my favourite - also sadly not available anymore. You can get great tacos anywhere, but it was the items they took off the menu that made this restaurant truly authentic and special.

The food here is absolutely amazing, authentic south American food that's sure to satisfy your hunger. I ordered food for me and my wife from here last week and she's been bugging me to order from here again. The employees are also amazing, super friendly and welcoming. I recommend grabbing some frozen empanadas to take home to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. 10/10 would recommend.

Bought empanada to take home. Most of them were broken and falling apart. It's a shame, I was really excited to try this restaurant. I wasn't given a receipt either and only noticed when I got home and opened the bag up, the man working seemed mildly annoyed when we made our order too.

Great food and the entire menu is Gluten Free. They forgot an item in our pickup order but otherwise, the food was fantastic. Chips are delicious and so are the arepas!

We went hungry in there and were still hungry and frustrated after getting the food. Maybe this place should be ran by men. The woman working there was so distracted that she didn’t hear the whole order. The little food that we got was bland, didn’t taste like anything. We didn’t get a proper receipt to see what we ordered and what we paid. We should be reimbursed for this. They were lucky with the COVID thing that we parked further and started driving while trying to eat their garbage. This whole place is a joke.

Super friendly staff make you feel so warm and welcome. I love coming here for the inviting atmosphere, feels like a guest in a friend’s home rather than a customer in a restaurant. Even without indoor dining, the customer service experience for takeout is just as warm and friendly. Had an amazing experience with Keelan the other day, she was so helpful and informative with my order. The food is amazing every time and they cater so well to different allergies and diet restrictions. Authentic Venezuelan food you can’t find anywhere else in the city making this such a special spot!
