Helen’s place is sooo good and Helen herself is the sweetest lady. She takes the time to talk to you when you go in and genuinely cares about her customers. Would definitely recommend!

Been meaning to stop in here since I saw it on my way to pick up paint from cloverdale a few months ago. Finally made it in this morning for breakfast, the food was high quality and you could tell it was homemade with care. The service was quick and efficient, and more then anything super friendly. Our coffee was never empty and we had a good conversation with the owner at the end of our meal. Great food served by even better people, places like this beat out the busy overated breakfast joints everyday of the week, this will be a new Saturday staple:)

The food was great, some of the best hash browns we've had in a while, and the owner was super friendly. We'll go out of our way to go here again next time we are in Calgary.

Helen's place's breakfast menu pays great homage to a classic breakfast diner. Warm and welcoming, the staff make you feel at home right from the moment you walk through to door. This jem seems to be frequented by many of the people who work in the area and for good reasons. The food is classically prepared and you won't be disappointed by the quality, portion, or price point. There is good reason for all the high praise. Take a chance and try it out for yourself. Who knows, you might just find your next favorite breakfast spot.

I think it deserves the five stars because the food is outstanding, the service is comforting, and the price is reasonable. Their wor wonton soup was delicious and so satisfying

I came here because of a foodie group posting. And they were right about how friendly the owner was. She knew the other patrons by name so they clearly have a regular following.

I got the Triple Decker Clubhouse with Fries and the Grilled Dumplings.

The Triple Decker Clubhouse was made with homemade turkey meat (owner Helen told me). It was nice and simple. There's a slice of ham, and the cheese was basic American. Overall, I get a sweet undertone from the sandwich, which I suspect is from a spread. It was a nice, homey sandwich.

The fries were good. They have a special seasoning like the ones at CB Drive In. The exterior is very crispy with an interior that is still trnder, clearly revealing that they were made fresh to order.

The Grilled Dumplings were more doughy than other places. The filling was smaller, but overall, the doughy skin and the thin filling worked well. The meat was very flavorful and better than other dumpling places.

Helen's Place is a lovely little mom-and-pop place that is worth supporting.

We were visiting Calgary from out of town and stopped in for brunch. Food was excellent and service was even better. Glad we could support local. Thank so much!

We ate at Helen's place on our last full day in the area and after our experience, we would have definitely loved to have gone back. Helen was very welcoming and friendly, and the food was great. I always prefer independently owned businesses such as this and we're sad we couldn't be regulars, but hope your deserved good reviews continue to bring in more customers (as it did for us), they will not be dissapointed! Just stopped in this morning on a whim with my roommates, and the food and service were amazing! I had the Eggs Benedict, and a side order of Dumplings, and both were out of this world! I look forward to the next time I am able to come in and try more things on the menu.

Maybe the best kept secret in all of Calgary.so don't tell anyone. Fresh local farmer sausage.so good. 5/5

Great locally owned diner for home cooked food while waiting for work to be done on my car. Worth the walk. Food was delicious and price was great too.

An excellent family cafe serving home cooked food with very good prices. Daily specials offer good variety, and staff is always friendly and accommodating.

In Calgary for few days and we were looking for an all day breakfast spot.
This place had great reviews so we tried it and very happy we did!
Food, service and atmosphere are fantastic and the prices can’t be beat!
Definitely recommend to anyone looking for an all day breakfast spot.

Old style, small town, mom and pop restaurant with quaint atmosphere, excellent food and great service. So good, I’ve made it my diner of choice when I’m hungry and don’t want to cook. A fantastic alternative to the hum drum fare at the popular franchises. I am so glad I stumbled upon it a couple of months ago. I look forward to my regular visits and tasty meals at Helen’s.
