HER GYMVMT Fitness Club - Westbrook Mall

The gym itself is good, but the conditions of the season tickets are terrible!
If you buy a membership to this gym, you will become a HOSTAGE, as you will not be able to stop the subscription before the term of the contract. Life in Calgary can be very dynamic, you can change your place of residence or just change your mind about going to the gym. But if you want to cancel the membership, you will have to pay a FINE of $100!
I believe that charging such a high fee for the simple procedure of closing the membership is unfair and does not meet the standards of fair and open business. In such cases, in other institutions of this kind, cancellation fees are much lower or no.
More over, even paying a $100 fine, you will also pay for a FULL MONTH AMOUNT! This is completely absurd! How can it be that I closed the membership today, but still pay for a whole month, although I will not go because it is canceled!? !
I would also like to add that the staff are very careless. The girl who booked me, made a mistake with the bank information and the automatic payment of the subscription did not happen, for which I was fined! Also, this girl didn’t stipulate the terms of the contract and she DIDN'T even send this contract to the post office!
To summarize, I will NOT recommend to any of my friends this gym, as such a rip-off of money is simply incomprehensible!
Good thing in Calgary there are many other halls with more loyal terms for their customers!

My mom and I started going to this gym just over a month ago and we both really love it! It feels comfortable, safe and not overly busy which is very motivating. The machines are versatile and the staff are extremely accommodating and helpful. Thank you Gymmvmt!

I like how organize everything is. I also love the idea of group classes which I am interested to try. Jordyn was so helpful all throughout the sign up process. Can’t wait to start!

Her GYMVMT is an excellent gym. Starts with Trish and Josephine at reception they are very friendly and will help with anything. The trainers are amazing I’ve been seeing brenlea for years she is so good. Then the management are friendly and will help with any concerns just ask for Laura or Ling they’ve got you covered. All the staff are amazing. It’s a great safe place for women looking after women. 10 out of 10

Love this gym! I always get a great workout and a great welcome! I’m 52 and getting stronger everyday, largely because of how comfortable I am in this environment!

I’ve been going to this facility since it was SpaLady, and I’ve seen it through its transition into HER GYMVMT. The staff here is always so friendly and helpful, the equipment has been awesome updated since its transition, and the classes are the best I’ve ever attended. Of all the gyms I’ve ever been a part of, I find I get the most bang for my buck here! The classes alone are worth the price of admission, over and above the state of the art equipment offered. Would recommend.

I’ve been training with Fiona Kelly for a few months now, and believe she is one of the most experienced & committed trainers around. Fiona is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging (& somehow fun). My fitness has increased noticeably and I’ve seen improvements in my ability to complete more sit ups / core exercises, lift progressively heavier weights & generally push myself harder throughout each session. I find I actually look forward to my workouts. Fiona really cares about helping me reach my goals. Since I started working out with her I feel much better about myself. I have lost weight and inches and am much stronger.

Such a wonderful place with the sweetest employees. You are always greeted by the kindest people, and can workout freely in a judgment free zone. The group fitness selection is great, with a mix of everything.:)

I had a personal training session with Jordyn, and it was great! She showed me everything and was super friendly and made me not feel uncomfortable at the gym! The gym itself I really like! It’s not too big, not super busy and the classes are awesome!

Such a friendly environment, everyone is friendly, great staff and comfortable environment that allows me to pump my hardest, RECOMMEND

I always feel welcome here and I find it very inspiring and inclusive that there are so many women of different sizes, shapes and abilities here, judgement free!

I love this gym and the woman that saw me up is absolutely fantastic she's in sales I can't remember her name I love the hours I love everything about it and it is highly recommended

If I could give zero stars I would. Wasn’t necessarily this studio it was upper management that completely screwed me over. I was told my membership had been cancelled and no longer received payments. Until I had to go in and pay almost $200 in fees when I did not get to use my membership at all.completely unprofessional, definitely would recommend finding a different gym.

I recently got a deal to "come back" at a discount. Nobody checked in with me. I paid the sign up and my first two weeks. Finally went in today but the vibe has changed. It used to be very friendly. I saw only two women sanitize equipment after use and one employee wandering around cleaning. Nobody checked on me, I was supposed to get a one on one and a group training session. The equipment has changed so I didn't feel comfortable using the machines. I did what I could with kettle bell, leg press, medicine ball and rower. Overall, it was disappointing. I wasn't told that I couldn't go to any other gymvt with this offer or attend any of the group classes. They don't print the schedule anymore and nobody talked to me about using the app, which is rated very poorly.it is likely that I will quit and go somewhere else.

This gym has over TWENTY TWO pairs of 8 & 10 lb dumbels and ONE pair of 30lb dumbbells. No proper squat rack, bench press, chin up machine, or calf machine.

The ladies at the front desk are so kind and helpful. Always smiling and offering a warm greeting (even at 6am). The previous reviews say the staff aren't kind but I think that is outdated. This location is so clean and everyone is helpful.

A very friendly and it provides excellent varieties of classes. Facility is clean and pleasant environment to work out. Highly recommend this location.

Great gym for moms on maternity leave! I love this gym for the Little MVRS child minding centre, very clean and friendly staff here. Great choice for moms looking for some quality “me time” and a great morning workout.

IFH, parent company of HER GYMVMT, seems to be a shady & unethical company. Look the reviews up and are consistent to the point that its negative reputation made it to the newspaper. Be prepared to monitor your account for unauthorized charges, and if there are, you are protected by law, so PROTECT YOURSELF by using your RIGHT to REVOKE AUTHORIZATION for the preauthorized debit payments by:

1. Tell this (the company) that you are taking away your permission for them to take automatic payments out of your account.
2. Call & write: Tell your bank that you have revoked authorization for the company to take automatic payments from your account.
If you see unauthorized payments, let the bank know and the bank will conduct an investigation and reimburse you the unauthorized charge (s).
3. Close your bank account or changing your account number.
4. Even if you have not revoked your authorization, you can give your bank a stop payment order. Banks usually charge a fee to stop a payment.

Further, cancelling your automatic payments, will stop them to continue taking unauthorized payments from your account; however, it wont cancel your contract with the company. If you are still within the 1 or 2 years agreement term, the above is still useful; however, to exit the agreement you have to meet the cancellation requirements:
1. Pay Early Cancellation Fee of $99+GST & give them a 30 days notice. They will collect 2 more Bi-weekly payments.

I came across with unprofessional, unfriendly and very rude employees lacking of customer service skills like Stefan C. & Sheri-Lyn.

I suggest you do your own research about this company before enrolling as a member. The enrolment agreement is non-transferable, non-refundable, etc.
If you are (unfairly) terminated, they will still collect all bi-weekly dues remaining on the 1 or 2 years term since it is in the contract, and you won't be allowed to use GYMVMT services & facilities.

There are plenty of gyms out there with a better reputation, equipment, services & that genuinely care about you as a customer.

Enjoyed the club however I have requested twice over the course of over a month to cancel my membership and they still continue to bill me.

I used to love to go here. The location and hours worked well for me. Communication was understandably spotty at the beginning of the pandemic but I at least got things sorted out. I believed in the company enough that I paid my dues while the gyms were shut down at the beginning of the pandemic. I've been trying to talk to someone about using that credit for virtual personal training over the past six months and I finally got a hold of someone today and have been given options. The options given don't work for me right now and I decided the best thing to do was cancel my membership so I don't have to continue to try and get a hold of people again. My $280 credit on my account? Apparently that stays on the account. I can either pay to continue to have my account frozen and deal with trying to get a hold of someone again, or cancel and forfeit my money, or cancel and HAVE to go back and sign up with their gyms again in order to use my credit. Honestly, if the communication had been any good at all in the last six months I would have just used up the credit, but at this point I really don't want to have to try and get in contact wit someone again when my credit's done, and I don't want to go over my credit.
It sure makes me feel great about my decision to support them. I haven't decided which route to go yet but I wanted to encourage anyone with credit to make sure they get it sorted out now.

I've been a member of spa lady and now gymvnt for about 20 yrs. I'm currently moving to the SW and the closest gym is Westbrook. Transcanada has been my go to and I think the most superior location in the city. I really wish they would do something or move to a bigger location in the area, as I don't think it's worth paying a membership for this location. If you really don't care about a lot of equipment choices and waiting for equipment to open then this location is for you.

This location is not as nice as my usual GYMVMT. Really dirty and not appealing and just in general outdated.

Don’t believe what they say! They would say anything to make you sign up. I work late so I asked them before I sign up if it’s ok if I am late to classes, they said sure. Then after I signed up, they cane up with a new policy. If you’re one min late to classes you cannot attend the class and if you don’t cancel 3 hours before the class begins and don’t show up they charge you. Gym is supposed to be fun. It’s not supposed to add more stress to people’s lives!

I have never posted a review before, but felt inclined to for this gym. I am BEYOND frustrated at the amount of times I've had to call them to confirm my membership cancellation. My contract expired over 6 months ago, and so technically I am free to cancel at any time. It has now been over two months now since I requested a cancellation, and they still continue to charge me. This is the FOURTH TIME I have had to call them or visit the location to tell them to please CANCEL. MY. MEMBERSHIP. I am seriously considering changing my banking information from how frustrated I am at having to call back and forth between the Westbrook location and their headquarters for the same issue. It shouldn't be this difficult to cancel a membership! So beware of charges to your account even after you "cancel" your membership! Only gave it a two star because I genuinely enjoyed the classes while I had my membership.

Staff are nice here, but they do not have security cameras at least in their entrance. Someone broke my lock in the locker, stole my bag, wallet & car on January 22,2020 in the evening. I hope their management would take action and that they would install security cameras as soon as possible for everyone's safety. The thief was identified per the Management, but the Police told me the video is not clear. The video was actually from Sportchek, not from this gym! There should be at least a CCTV Camera in their Entrance. I will never ever go back to this facility. IT'S NOT SAFE FOR EVERYONE!

Love the gym. Clean, women only, great welcoming staff. Terrible music but I guess it's a matter of opinion. Most people are with headphones, would be nice if it didn't blast out of of every speaker.

Although this location is quite small the overall atmosphere is great. The receptionist is always friendly and it’s rarely packed like the other locations are.

This gym should get 0 stars based on the way they treat their customers. My wife cancelled her contract bec of personal reasons they were very quick to charge 103 dollars for cancelling, and after the process was complete we specifically asked whether they would still be charging anymore money from power banking account and we were told ofcourse not so right after 2 weeks later guess what they deduct 47 dollars from our account and when we went back in to talk to the manager about the issue their reason was that my wife had used up more of the personal training reasons then what they though hence the word thought so when asked why we weren't made aware of that in the beginning their reason was because the manager who cancelled the contract forgot to tell us that, how unprofessional right? Second of all their was a verbal agreement between my wife and her personal trainer on how to use the 24 training sessions that shes signed up for but she was never made aware of any payments that would be made if she makes an early cancellation and it's not stated anywhere in their contract. All an all this place is a scam beware of fraud and take your precautions. They took advantage of my wife bec shes new to the country and that's very unfair and unprofessionalssional of them we hope this doesnt occur to anyone else.

I loved coming to Spa Lady here. Unfortunately I moved jobs and had to switch gyms but I very much enjoyed my time here daily. Marian is always so friendly as well as all the staff and trainers. Place is always clean and comfortable.

One of the worst places to go. The grabbing you from the beginning to get a membership then they don’t make they promises. Helen you need to work on your team. Learn the respect your members.

Walk by there once in a while parking lot is always full so must be nice. I hope I'm correct in giving 5 stars.

Not professional and not honest about charges and policies, their return policy is just a part of their fake marketing tricks, they told me August is free but 50 dollars I paid was covering my membership only from Aug 14 until Aug 27, I thought they were for the first 15 days of Sep. When I discussed it with them I I wanted to cancel my membership after two days from signing up they refused to return my money knowing that I didn't step a foot in the gym. I don't recommend this place to anyone

The facility is good, nice equipment and helpful trainers. Ladies at the front desk are always lovely and willing to answer any questions. They lose 2 stars because of the spa kids. When I signed up they explained that it is a 'sign up before you come' sort of childcare. I told the girl I was signing up with that my workouts are usually last minute decisions so this might not be the right gym for me to sign up at and she assured me that it would likely never be and issue. But the last three times I have tried to come with my 9 month old they haven't been able to accommodate me. So I am paying for a membership for a year and will only be able to go once a month or so. Really wish the girl who signed me up had just been honest or maybe better informed about how busy the childcare gets on the mornings I said I'd be able to make.

Great and super friendly staff. Very clean gym and has everything I need for my workout.
I’m having a super awesome time with Julie, my trainer. She is super kind but hard enough to make me achieve my goal. She is trying to achieve my goal more then I am! I highly recommend this club and the trainer Julie to everyone.

This location is conveniently located for me but that would not be my only deciding factor to frequent this facility. I find the staff that I have encountered to be friendly and helpful. I enjoy my training sessions with Kelly immensely. She has assembled a great group of ladies to work out with and we have a lot of giggles. It isn't all fun and games however, as our training sessions are challenging and rewarding. She designs our workouts around our capabilities, our goals and with our input. She keeps me motivated.

It has everything I need for a workout and it is close to my home. Club is clean and well kept. Group trainers are enthusiastic, engaging and well prepared. Kelly is really great as a trainer. She is very upbeat. Love this gym!

Spa Lady is amazing, and it all starts with the front end staff. They are always friendly and welcoming. Next are the classes the only class I do is the 3 2 1 with Stephanie on Mondays. AMAZING, she is an excellent teacher, showing all levels of ability, she is up beat and wants you to succeed. Then there are the trainers. I have never had a trainer before, but I love them. Vanessa is my trainer and I have been with her for over a year. She is friendly and wants you to do well. If you cannot do an exercise she adjusts the workout so you will have success. I call her my little drill Sargent, in a good way. Always look forward to coming in and having a great workout. The other trainer I use is Brenlea this is my second registered program with her, it is absolutely amazing. She makes you want to do better and improve, she has a positive attitude and is knowledgeable about your body, exercises and training. I have worked out at other gyms, but my favorite by far is Spa Lady. I love going and getting my workouts done in a very friendly atmosphere and if I have any questions, I can ask any of the trainers, they are there to help everyone. I wouldn't go to any other Club, this is where I feel comfortable, this is my home for gyms.

Gym is great. Staff is great. The woman who works in the daycare in the morning has terrible customer service skills and even worse telephone manners. She seems irritated that I am even dropping my daughter off and I see her sitting on her phone 99% of the time, not interacting or watching children. I've started driving the extra 20 minutes to the canyon meadows location because I do not feel comfortable leaving my daughter there anymore. The ladies at the canyon meadows are AWESOME, they do crafts with the kids, are super friendly and always greet my daughter with a big smile. Always making us feel so welcome. I would strongly conaider retraining the individual at the Westbrook location

The staff are all friendly and awesome, great variety of classes and training sessions, relatively affordable comparatively. Sometimes parking and machine availability gets a bit dicey at busy times but for the most part everything is available and awesome.
