Highland Park Walk-In Medical Clinic

Called and asked to book an appointment, receptionist was beyond rude with her tone of voice and words. Learn some proper customer service if this is what your job is.

The doctors might care but the rest of there staff does not. Called 4 times. The first time someone asked if I could hold and didn't wait for a response. Second and third time they just picked the phone up and immediately put me on hold with no ask. Fourth time they literally picked up the phone and hung up on me. If you don't want to answer the phone or patient questions don't become a medical receptionist. I understand all medical centre are busy places and don't have free time. My question would have literally taken less than a minute to answer. Do better and if you can't do your job don't.

I have had a good experience at this clinic and I understand that some people may be frustrated with the front end staff but look at what they have to deal with on a daily basis, people being rude, changes with healthcare, Covid etc they mean well just be patient and understanding and it will go both ways

Third time and it’s always an unpleasant experience to deal with any of the receptionist. They always act like they hate being there and serving you is an inconvenience. My last time I had to pick up a form. I was called that it was ready. Then told it was a $40 charge just to get a form signed to verify a prescription. Fine. Then I get there to pick up form and the receptionist tells me matter of factly it’s must be paid in cash. I was not happy. Asked why was I not told that on phone call. She ignored the question. I don’t usually carry cash as with most, fortunately I had the cash but still. No consideration for the client.

The doctor was very kind and proffesional but the receptionist was not so happy when I called to book for an appointment. Customer service was not so great. She sounds so annoyed and uninterested when I was inquiring and told that they only book appoinment for patient with a family doctor. I don't have one since its my first time to go to a clinic to get a doctors note. I ended up going to do walk-in and waited for couple of hours which is fair. I've been working with customers the whole time but I never sounded like that to customers ever. To you Ms. Receptionist, pls be more friendly and proffesional when talking to customers/patients through phone or in person or look for another job that doesn't require customer service. Thanks

Friendly and quick service. I was in and out with my drivers medical within 20 minutes. I only waited for 5 minutes.

The staff and doctors are very helpful and efficient, great help everytime we need to go there. Treated really well always.

2 seperate doctors at this clinic treated my high BP with medication. Upon seeing a third doctor for a new prescription, he was proactive and decided to find out WHY my blood pressure was high and stated a possible reason. Within 2 weeks, I was diagnosed with what he had suspected. I had a thyroid disease. The first 2 doctors either did not know or they did not care. My condition was so serious that I had to have radiation therapy. Thank God for Dr. Pienaar, who has since left this clinic. Reception staff are about as rude and indifferent as it gets.

Doctors are wonderful and super helpful and friendly which really sucks because the front desk receptionists are incredibly rude and hard to deal with, one in particular should definitely find work somewhere she doesn't have to talk to people because she clearly doesn't enjoy it. I'm now switching walk in unfortunately because i cannot deal with them when im just seeking help. Village mall walk in is significantly more professional and i would recommend them over here.

I had been going to this clinic for 20 years and I never once had a pleasant interaction with the receptionists. I understand things get busy and stressful but for every single time to be treated awful is excessive. Saddening as I loved the doctors but couldn’t take the receptionists anymore

Receptionist is rude when answering calls no help no education poor poor experience wish I didn’t have to deal with them every again … not recommended

Apparently the walk in isn't taking any new clients for the foreseeable future. What a pathetic " WALK IN"

We got there shortly after 8am. Got sent away because they were completely booked. NOT a walk-in clinic!

Been coming here 11yrs now and now because none of these doctors aren't really my doctor I have been told to go elsewhere

I wish this clinic replace their receptionist. She doesn’t have quality to answer phone calls. Uneducated. Not polite. She has to remember that she’s talking to patients/ sick who needs help. I understand if busy but be nice.

I was so disappointed with this clinic! The receptionist is not really friendly and helpful, i will never go back here.

If you can tolerate the snippy attitude of the front end reception, especially on the phone, the care of the physicians is decent and kind. Convenient location.

Dr Ford is the best Dr ever, I am see him over 20 years plus my family we never had any problem with him:)

Doctors are the best! But these ladies at the front desk need to start looking for another job as they don't love what they're doing! It's a clinic that they're working at and mostly vulnerable people are the ones they interact with; so they have to be compassionate and caring but unfortunately they are not! They show the same kind of attitude every single time! Very unprofessional, rude, and don't have nor show any of the code of ethics! Very sad.

If I could give zero stars I would. As a young female, I do not feel safe or well taken care of when I visit. I am treated as more of an inconvenience, I have been laughed at and disrespected. I do not wish for these behaviours onto anybody and wish I would have been taken care of better.

This is a heads up for anyone thinking of going to Highland
Green Walk In Clinic.
1. Dr. Ford spends more time arguing with people that go into see him than actually helping them.
2. If you describe what is wrong with you, he will dismiss it. If you ask any questions about what could possibly be wrong, he will start being extremely rude and treat you like he is the Almighty Dr. And you are just the lowly patient.
3. Do yourself a favor and go to The Discovery Clinic where the Dr.s are compassionate and actually care about helping people.

The closing time listed online is 5: 00. I arrived there just after 4: 00 and they were already closed. Not very professional for a doctor's office. I'll just go elsewhere from now on.

I have been going to this clinic for 25 years and I love eveyone in that office. Sandy & Dr. Ford are amazing professionals but treat you like a friend. I have nothing but praise for all the hard work that the staff and Doctors do in this messed up world. I find if you treat people kindly and with respect & patience, that is what you get back! Everyone has an occasional bad day nd that includes the patients

Disappointing place to go. Dr. Ford is fantastic and I have known him for many years, it’s just unfortunate that the first interaction people have with his business are the rude, downright disrespectful reception staff every time we have been. Just today they refused my wife access to the bathroom to change our 4 month old baby’s diaper which he soiled as they shopped at the adjoining Shoppers’s Drug Mart. Really disappointing that we feel so unwelcome in a medical office.

The front staff can be awfully snobby at times and it seems like they only answer the phone half the time. Grumpy must be apart of the politically correct epidemic going around.

My Alberta health care card was stolen along with my wallet. They refused to provide me care even with my health care number. Very unethical

Absolutely no help reception have absolutely no people skills, wanted a prescription filled they said to busy, went to my shoppers they filled for me they gave a damn I give one star for showing up to work.

The doctors are great but my goodness the receptionist that goes by the name Sandy is extremely rude and impatient.hopefully one day they can get a better receptionist because the doctors are awesome there and it's a shame that people stop going there because of all the bad reviews on the front office staff

Love dr. Piennar. Have no problem with the staff either. After have a couple surgery and they treat us great

Doctors are great as a backup if you can't get to your regular physician. Reception staff can be a bit abrupt & unfriendly at times.

Doctors here really are great however, the receptionist at the front is rude and seems like she doesn’t have the time of day to talk to you.
ALSO, Just incase you don’t already know, I was told by this receptionist that they no longer are a walk-in clinic and that they only see their patients. Just a heads up!

I have been going here since 2011 and really like the clinic. Receptionists can be a little bit intimidating. I understand this, I work on a busy reception so try to bare this in mind and don’t take it personally.
I saw a Dr today and felt that he was very abrupt and though he was thorough his manner was quite off putting. Certainly won’t be my first choice to see.

I have been coming to this location for years. Today I was struggling with asthma and specifically drove all the way across town to this location only to be given a bit of attitude. No one told me this was no longer a walk-in clinic. Not a smart way to run things.

Dr. Ford is the best! He takes the time to figure out your needs, the other walk in doctors there are great aswell! I've had noo issues ever going there aslong as you set alittle time aside &your patient, you will get great service! Plus the pharmacy is quick!

Used to go here, Drs are amazing, but the front end staff are rude and arrogant.definitely wont be going there again.

I would give 5 stars for the Dr.that I see, (Dr. Piennar) but the front desk staff are extremely rude and unwelcoming and I've even considered switching clinics because of it. They make it seem like calling is a inconvenience for them and it makes it really nerve wracking having to call to book appointments.

Receptionists are so rude. Just stare at u, and hardly acknowledge you instead of them greeting first (THATS UR JOB). Don’t work as an effing receptionist if you aren’t a nice person.:) thanks

Horrible front desk service. I have been sitting here for over 2 Hours and 45 Minutes as they don’t only prioritize appointments which is normal but they prioritize returning patients in line before first time patients. Never coming back to this location.
