HML Landscape Design & Construction

Pedro and his crew of two did an amazing job of transforming my front yard in only one day; such an efficient and friendly crew! It was evident to me that they knew what needed to be done and they had the equipment to do it. Casey was always willing to accommodate my many questions and changes in the design. Site was left exceptionally clean which I appreciated. So pleased I chose HML.

Super disappointed. We were working with Jessica. When we reached out, they were very quick to book our consult, and from that point on, we felt unimportant, and like an afterthought. They were running way behind, with zero communication that they would be off from their original timeframes, and we had to send several emails to get a response and a revised timeframe. When the design was presented, it didn't fit at all what we were looking for. While they were willing to make changes, it would have racked up the design fee, and it was just so far off of everything we were looking for that we decided to discontinue business with them. Our number one priority was increasing the grass space in our yard to make it more family friendly for our 4 small children, and elements of the design included putting the patio and gazebo right in front of the dining room window, blocking the view and the one and only window we really have access to to keep an eye on the kids. The grass line was moved back into the yard further by another 12 feet in some spots. They knew our budget going into things and came out double what we were wanting to spend, all the while including several very pricey upgrades that we specified "would be nice but only if they came in under budget", while making our priorities clear. I'm not sure if they were just very disinterested in our project and purposely priced us out and did a poor job, or what happened, but I'm really surprised at the volume of positive reviews, when our experience wasn't great. We reached out to a different company and without knowing who did our original design and estimate, and just speaking to them over the phone about how things had gone, they knew exactly who we had been working with. It's super disappointing to shell out nearly a thousand dollars for a dysfunctional design that came in double budget, but we weren't willing to take the risk and proceed. The only reason I can give more than 1 star is they were originally and briefly responsive, and the quality of the work may be decent, but I wouldn't be able to get far enough with them to know for sure.

My wife and I arranged for HML to undertake a major job at our home that involved all branches of their organization (Landscaping, electrical, irrigation, fence demolishing and replacement etc).
From the outset Casey and Jessica were brilliant to work with and professional to the extreme. Their on-site Supervisors and employees where punctual, hard working and clean. The job proceeded well, was completed on time and within budget. Interestingly pre-existing damages where discovered and repaired without any additional cost.
The follow up after completion of the job was exemplary. I would not hesitate in using HML again and would recommend them to family and friends without hesitation.

We enlisted the services of HML last year and again this year and on both occasions crews showed up on the day we were told and worked long, long hours. When leaving the job site daily, the care taken to clean up was excellent. Crews were punctual and friendly. I am most impressed with the professionalism of the company! Highly recommend their services.

We had our dream yard designed and planted by HML. I cannot say enough good things about this reputable and very professional company. Their followup and customer service is exceptional. HML just completed a large yard renovation project for us, and I fully recommend them without any reservations. I have done several large renovation projects in the past, and this was by far the best experience. Our project involved demolishing and regrading our entire yard, building a large deck, paving stone sidewalk, privacy screen, landscaping, capping off old gas lines/installing new ones, and cosmetic improvements to the house (rockwork and posts). Casey was excellent to work with on contract matters, extremely efficient and no drama. The project actually started early (!) and was completed unbelievably fast (mostly done within 1.5 weeks). It also came in precisely on budget. And most importantly, all of the work was done to a very high standard, and looks fantastic. All associated subcontractors were also excellent to deal with. I have had many comments from neighbours on both the impressive work and the speed in which the project was finished. If you have a project like ours involving both landscaping and construction elements, look no further.

The guys did a great job carefully trimming our tall trees near the house using a bucket truck with an electric pole saw and hand saws, and tidying up after.
