Holiday Inn Calgary-Airport

Booked because it was suppose to be close to airport. Not to far but the shuttle is it reliable and not available when you need it. Curtain blinds are broken hard to sleep.

First time being in this location and got a shuttle from hotel.
Andres, the driver was so welcomin and helpful to show area on the way back to hotel.
Keep it up with this fantastic service!

Close to Calgary Airport. The food was awesome and the room was cozy. Added to the fact that it was affordable with a free airport shuttle.

Decent hotel. The room is clean & spacious and comfortable. Our room had a microwave and a sink.

We were travelling with our sick dog so we ended up in a pet room. The floors in the room were greasy and felt that the room was not sanitized.mirrors had streaks and the air smelled like someone smoked in the room.

Disappointed that you cannot have access to the HDMI, only access to limited cable and expensive rentals. Front desk was not aware we were bringing our dog although I mentioned this while on the phone making reservations. Was not provided the breakfast voucher that was included in the rate. Had to go to the front desk and ask for it per instructions from the server. Tub drained at a ridiculously slow rate.

On our last stay, we booked the pool for private use and it was a mess, litter everywhere. Bathtub wasn't working, needless to say we shortened our stay.

The staff were very friendly, and there were no issues with the rooms themselves. Unfortunately, the hotel was replacing the hallway carpets while we stayed there and it made hallway carts extremely noisy.

Either because of the renovations or the material of the door, we could hear EVERYTHING from the hallway as if our door had been open. It was incredibly frustrating to be woken up by people talking, babies crying, dishes clanking, etc.

Certainly did not meet my expectations for this stay, but I think it may be a temporary issue. I wish we had known in advance what we were getting into. We would’ve stayed elsewhere.

Thank you for being home away from home for me and my family. And Loooooove the hot tub also the 1250 restaurant prices and food quality should make the restaurant a local stop. A heaping plate of beef nachos that 2 people can't finish? Go online and check out the price. Then go try them.

Nice hotel in a good location. They had a good deal on so it made it worth the stay. Has a restaurant and bar inside.

Un bel hôtel, propre, grand, piscine et tourbillon. Café, frigidaire et micro-ondes dans la chambre.

Was planning to stay here this weekend. My medical apt was changed from today to Monday so called to request I bump my reservation from Fri and sat night to sat and sun night. Still two nights and the front desk manager refused saying it was past 24 hrs cancellation. Despite explain the situation. She refused to change the reservation. So I just get to be out 100. Oh and you can’t ask to speak to the owner he doesn’t even live in the country. Awesome.

Whilst not steeped in elegance or grandeur this location is a good choice for solidly 'hotel' experience. Too often I have seen hotels which remind me more of motels, fortunately this is not one of them.
The public areas and rooms are clean, well kept, and tastefully furnished. In house hotel amenities are open except at night. Staff are pleasant, well mannered, competent and knowledgeable.
Overall this hotel punches above it's official weight of three stars. Kudos to staff and management.

Booked are stay for 2 nights, the whole reason we booked was to use the pool and hot tub, at 10 pm we wanted to use the pool as there was only 2 other people in it, she said it’s too late even though it closes at 11 we walked by at 12pm and still seen the same people there! I complained to them they just said it was their mistake to let them stay that long, ive stayed at this same hotel from before with no problems but this really frustrated me, ruined our plans and I don’t see myself ever coming back to this place, and the lady I dealt with had such a condescending i dont care attitude it disgusted me, if you want to pay for a hotel that lies and disregards you in such a unprofessional fashion I recommend you come here! You will not forget the experience thats forsure!

Clean and safe environment with friendly staff that will provide you the help you request within their ability.

The front desk made the check in process overly difficult she was not cooperative.hotel is clean.

Not a bad experience. Staff were pretty polite especially the guy in the restaurant. He was always checking in to see if we were satisfied and gave great recommendations.

Booked our room for two nights. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and the staff was super friendly. Found out the washroom light wasn't working, called the front desk and it was fixed in minutes. Very impressive

Stayed here multiple times. Never had an issue except this time. Front desk gentleman during check in refused to check me in on my preferred rate until sees email for work. Showed him work ID but that was not enough for this gentleman. As per IHG policy govt ID should be enough. There is confidential information is in my emails. Explained same but he wanted to abuse his power of checking in people and threatened me to show otherwise he would not check me in. It was late at night and I did not have the energy after travelling for so long to go and find another hotel. All my bookings are through this hotel usually. Room given to me was old and with yellow stained bathtub. Told him about my IHG membership and completely ignored me. Had to go back to get that entered. After checking my status of platinum elite member switched me rooms. Terrible check in experience. Otherwise really good service from other staff after. Ate at the resturant daily multiple times and food was really good. Breakfast buffet was really good as well. Check in gentleman though ruined the whole stay. First impression is the last impression.

Mixed feelings about this hotel.
Pros:
-Friendly staff.
-Very good food and service in the restaurant on the 2nd floor.
-Room was well furnished with comfortable chairs, and a large desk.
-Nice view of downtown on the 5th floor.
Cons:
-Bed was VERY firm. Woke up with a sore back.
-Reno's needed in many parts of this hotel, including the bathrooms, (older showers and tile work).
-The A/C controls were odd. Fan speed is on the wall unit, but the thermostat on the wall controls the temp. Also loud.
-Very narrow hallways. So narrow that you have to be careful to not smash the hallway wall lights with your luggage cart!
-Pool was as hot as a bathtub and looked a little grimey on the sides.

The hotel just locate at the center of the city of Calgary. We stayed for a night and had a good rest. Decent room equipped with a small fridge. Good rate.

Not the best hotel experience I have had in my life, certainly beats out a motel…

Arrived late at night but there were no shuttles… I guess they don’t always run, but the hotel let us take a cab and they paid the bill.

Check-in was quick an easy, but we immediately noticed the insane amount of water on the lobby floor. We thought it was a leak until noticing it was all from the pool area… the hotel was allowing guests to walk in and out of the pool to the elevator with no shoes and dripping bathing suits. Elevator was covered in water and the poor hotel shuttle driver was trying his best to clean it up.

We originally booked a 2 queen room… but could only spend a single night before needing a change. First, there was mold all over the shower… I could compare this more to a nasty old gym shower. Two, the drawers had noticeable stains all over…again nasty. Third the room door would not lock, so we could only use the dead bolt. Last straw occurred in the middle of the night, when a room above us flushed their toilet: the pipes rattled beside our heads and sounded like a hammer against the walls for a good 10 minutes.

We complained and got a free room upgrade on the 5th floor (top floor). Wow what a change! Much cleaner, everything worked in the room, and no mold in the shower! Again it was not the best room I have stayed in, but it would work for the little times we were going to be in it.

TLDR; Book a King room on the 5th floor for a nice stay, or look for a different hotel. Staff super friendly.

If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. The service was terrible. We got blamed for their mistake and then after checking out found out that they did make the mistake. Will never stay here again or recommend it to anyone, and to top it off the sheets on both the bed were stained and they told us they had no extra sheets or comforters.

We stayed for 4 nights and the staff never clean our room, very poor service. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

My only and major complaint is if you have a Nintendo switch that you're gamesharing with someone? That requires internet access constantly? Can't connect the switch too the wifi

Nice front desk ladies, however, we stayed there for a few nights, told them we DIDNT want housekeeping, even out the DO NOT DISTURB on our door, and yet house keeping went in and cleaned it up.please, do NOT touch my stuff when it’s on my bed, let alone when you’re cleaning a room that DOESNT want cleaning.i will never trust that hotel ever again because they destroyed my trust with this incident.

Room wasn't cleaned properly but was rectified quickly.we also had a problem with the TV but they fixed it quickly

Was not clean. Found old chicken in room from previous guest. Water running out door from room accross the hall. Fire alarm went off at 1 am and no communication was given for when we could go back in. Front desk did not answer when I called. Not enough coffee or towels in room for 2 guests which is what I booked.

Old un-renovated hotel, old stained carpets, noisy neighbourhood, bad (used) mattresses and hard pillows, empty Kleenex boxes, Air Conditioning did not work, toilet kept running, bath had writings that was not cleaned off, towel rack was ripped halfway out the wall, made the wallpaper come off, shower had very low water pressure, Shuttle service was unavailable had to take a “associated” taxi service… two staff members was talking loud in our corridor waking us up at around 1 am. Lots of dust behind the beds and especially in back of the furniture (bedside table).

As a 3 star hotel it’s good. The staff are nice and polite, but this isn’t a good choice for family with infants because they don’t provide bassinet. We asked for a bassinet and they gave us a crib that is good for more than one year old baby

Friendly staff that will do all they can to help. Noce having the business centre. The hot tub is big but lacks jets that actually do more than move a little water.
Rooms are well appointed. Having a second sink located outside the washroom is a good feature.

Downside is the poor layout of a small kitchette with an oversized coffee make that sits across the closet by-fold door and directly outside the washroom and its swing out door makes for cramped space and banging cabinet doors at times.

Booked a room online called the number to confirm that they have a pet friendly room but every time I called a random guy would answer the phone apparently they had the hotel number transferred to one of the employees even though when he wasn’t on shift.got there there was no pet friendly room available they gave me a normal 2 bed room it was ok.elevator wasn’t working carpet was wet by the AC but room was clean beds were clean.slept well but wasn’t that happy with the customer service

The phones weren't working properly, the TV wasn't able to connect to another input, the pool and weight room are very small.

Been here many times! Sometimes with the kids, sometimes on business, and sometimes as a get away! Staff is kind, attentive, and welcoming. Food and restaurant is 5 stars. It is clean, comfortable, spacious! Pool is huge and warm!
hot tub is great, and their gym has everything you need.

This is the number one spot, great rates, great service. Highly recommend.

Always nice to be politely greeted at the front desk not the case here.
The room when I arrived had not been “sanitized” or cleaned for that matter. There was hmm how do I put it a deposit left in the toilet prior to my arrival. I guess housekeeping missed. It was early morning hours so I took care of it.
I returned to my room after work to discover the TV didn’t work. Broken remote perhaps?
Called the front desk and the person I spoke to couldn’t help as they were the only ones apparently in the whole hotel. She did offer to assist later when someone else came on shift later in the day. I declined as I needed to get some rest as I had just returned from a night shift.
Also there are no USB plugs in the room I was in. I forgot a plug in for my phones. That’s my bad however.
I come to Calgary quite often and stay here but this was a a nightmare. Right up to what’s that smell in the hallway on the 5th floor.
Sorry folks not sure what happened to your hotel but you lost this long term customer.

The front desk clerk was nice and professional but, upon arrival the staff do not enforce their own mandatory mask policy. Entering our room, there was used floss on the end table, the linens were NOT spot free as advertised and the shower had hair left on the walls. When trying to sleep, the room temperature was set to 10 degrees. No matter how high I turned up the dial, the heat would not come on. We ended up trying to sleep with our winter coats on. When complaining to the staff at the end of our 7 hour stay, they did nothing to rectify the situation and still charged us for a full night stay.

So far very poor. 1st time I stayed I left my charger behind. Popped in a week later and unfortunately it was gone. Oh well. Arrive the 2nd time and I say I want to leave at 8am to catch my flight. With the whole covid thing they have reduced service but offer cabs. She tells me that I have to either take an 8: 15 shuttle which is too late or take a 7: 30 cab. Sandman has a proper shuttle. I should of just spent the extra $10 and stayed there.

License plate got stolen off truck while parked in back under car port called to ask if they coukd review the cameras and after hours of waiting for call back she calls to say that the cameras dont work back there.there is no sogns stating other wise they are doing nothing to help us see if we recognize the vehicle. They think its a joke, and we are further looking into pressing charges as we parked there thinking it was a safe spot to park.

Was good for its price. Had all good amenities and excellent service. The room was good too. The temperature control worked well. The water in my room never went cold. There is underground parking but you gotta hug the building's left side until you get around to it. The swimming pool wasn't cold water which is nice. The lounge has good food & drinks and some VLTs, if you play them. There is a convenient store across the street to the north of the building. If you need one. You can get gas there too. Overall was very comfortable here.

First room stunk of cigarette smoke second room has major dust behind everything.i ordered food and it came in a melted foam container.stay away i have seen better rooms rented by the hour.and on top of that no one is canadian or can speak english

We stayed for two night. The hotel refused to make up the room. Front desk informed us the never make up rooms for multi night stays. This is the first time we have ever had this happen to us.

Awesome place.food is good too. Breakfast great. My issue was the party in the hallway a few times that woke me up.

Great location, kinda unfriendly staff, no house keeping during the pandemic and it was very difficult to manage my few days of stay from out of town.

Great hotel, service was good. Convenient location right off the TCH and Deerfoot Trail. Rooms were clean and the staff were great.

Got a good deal, plus they payed the taxi which was almost 30$ from the airport. Only reason it loses a star is because there were some wrappers and small garbage near the corners of the windows and behind the dresser

The staff were friendly and helpful. The receptionist price matched the room for me and saved me some money:)
The first room was VERY dirty, and, with covid19, it was concerning. The first room had water and soap spots all over the bathroom sink (not from being cleaned), the toilet seat was up (which made me worried it wasn’t cleaned) & the toilet paper looked used (didn’t have the lovely little triangle so you know it’s fresh), there was a weird red stain in the microwave, cereal on the floor beside the bed, sticky spots/ finger prints on the mirror, and the beds did not smell clean. I called down immediately and they switched me to a new room with no issues. The second room, was “better” but the cleanliness was not great either; white stain in microwave, splash marks on the door frame (maybe coffee or coke/Pepsi), Spits shells on the floor, and a bizarre stain on the bathroom door that was reddish (hopefully not blood). The food from the restaurant wasn’t very good (Caesar salad and nachos).
The pillows and bed were comfy and the sheets seemed clean in the 2nd room.

Ok room exactly what you expect. Good room for the cost. A bit of an out of way place. Staff was accomidating but not friendly. I was masked up, but several guests were not. I asked for a couple more condiment packs for the coffee machine in the room. I was told I'd have go to the restaurant to get them. Gold elite gets you a view of the upper parking lot. Might have been better if there had been a door so I could have parked by the room. Like a motel.

I stayed at this location and was very pleased with the cleanliness of the room, hospitality and friendliness of Staff. The breakfast included add on was a plus! Breakfast was served in an actually onsite restaurant by a very hospitable staff of servers who genuinely cared about your experience. Even during this time of Pandemic, I felt comfortable as no corners were left undone and excuses made due to Covid. I will definitely stay here again when I’m back in town.

Nice food, great coffee, awesome view at the top, pool was clean. Thanks alot for the hotel service really appreciate it:)
