Holiday Inn Express Edmonton Downtown

This hotel was wonderful! Clean, great location for the event we attended and the staff were exceptional. The manager, Navneet, corrected an issue I had initially with the reservation team. He also remembered us when we came in and was very accommodating and nice. Every staff member we met was friendly. The hot breakfast was really good! Very fresh and quite flavourful. We will stay here again for events in downtown Edmonton.

Stayed here for one night. It was my second night in Edmonton. I recieved some snacks as a platinum elite member:) thank you. The room was ok, no complaints. The front desk staff seemed like they could be better off hanging out somewhere else. You know, I asked the person if there was a circle k or somewhere I could buy a lighter. She gave me directions to circle K. Next I needed change for the laundry but they didn't have change because the front desk person that night was a trainee with no float. AND, I went for a short walk just around the block and discovered a convenience store right attached to the hotel! AND that's not all! The guy at the convenience store was the one who told us we could use that door obverse there and it would lead us back to the hotel, indoors all the way. Now why the front desk person didn't suggest this convenience store instead when I asked for a circle k. I could have went just down a long hallway to a store.
The view was OK. Some demolition happening across the street which doesn't bother me. I enjoyed my stay as far as hotels go. Not the best but if I had no choice, I'd stay again.

Stayed here this weekend, my truck was broken into the first night I was there. My truck has been locked, and no windows were broken. Asked front desk staff about cameras because my truck was broken into and the response I got was “damn it happened again” they only have 1 camera facing the entrance of the Parking lot which you think they would have more since you’re registering your vehicle with the hotel for using the parking lot. I got told it was a homeless person and that it was pretty well bound to happen because it’s downtown. I’m not from Edmonton, I don’t know anything about Edmonton so how was I supposed to know. They only have signs in the parking lot saying take valuables out. I had everything tucked away and out of site that I didn’t want to bring up to my room and it still got broken into. In my opinion they should be warning guests at check in that they have been having issues with peoples vehicles being broken into so they can have a heads up. I was still charged another night of parking after I told the front desk I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my truck there and I would be parking it at someone’s house for the second night. Room walls are very thin, and with doors conjoining all the rooms noise slips through there as well, the bathtub had stains all over the floor from what looked like a previous bath mat, and the pull out mirror in the bathroom that I’m assuming was supposed to light up as it was plugged in and had a switch did not work either. Otherwise the room was generally clean, and the bed was nice. Won’t be staying there again at all though.

If you want your car broken into this is the place to go, the scum cut the anchors to my kids car seat. So I need to get that replaced, they took my kids treaty cards and health care cards

I had questions about my bill and the management were very good at resolving the confusion.

The was venue for a friend’s wedding in Edmunton. The rooms welcomed a host of us while the topmost event room took care of the wedding reception and engagement. The staff are respectful and friendly. Shout out to TK at the front-desk, cool dude. Very friendly budget. Room service was promptly. Clean sheets. Not so modern but well maintained. Our groups flight was delayed so we got to keep our luggage after checkout. Great central location in town - Only wish it was a bit closer to the airport. The popular west mall is a few minutes away. Parking space just beside it.

Walking distance to the downtown core. Lovely rooms. 2 queen size beds, nice and comfy. Delicious breakfast with lots of different hot and cold choices

My stay here waz magnificent, Nav and TK made sure my stay waz comfortable and satisfactory. I appreciated how they are well mannered, informed and accommodating.

The hot tub pool and fitnezz centre being open at 5am iz very convenient.when I'm back in Edmonton I'll be sure to be staying here!

Typical holiday inn express, not a modern location. But I was impressed the rooms were not dates or obviously in need of help like some older locations can be. Internet was disappointing though and I ended up just hot-spotting as it was not consistent in my room.

Nice and clean hotel with a nice breakfast bar. It's in a nice location of downtown close to shops, bars, restaurants and even the river isn't too far away either. Especially if you use the Scooters downtown. Decent size Pool, although hotub on the smaller size but still nice. Would most likely stay here again.

Le personnel était vraiment courtois et le service excellent. Cela dit, lors de ma visite il y a eu une panne d'eau chaude durant une nuit, ce qui m'a légèrement déçu. Le déjeuner inclus était bien et l'hôtel possède des installations (gym et piscine) intéressantes. La chambre était propre et assez spacieuse. Je recommande l'emplacement pour toute visite au centre-ville car bien situé au coeur de la ville.

Fairly good hotel, breakfast included with variety of items to select from, close to a lot of things within downtown, red arrow depot with the hotel complex making it an awesome feature if you don't want to drive between Cal and Edm.

Great price, really good service, loved the breakfast. Huge parking lot attached to the building. Great location within walking distance to just about everything.

Solid location in downtown Edmonton. Nice dining area with continental breakfast and an indoor swimming pool. A lot of the rooms have small outdoor patio areas which is great in the summer. Handful of Pubs within walking distance. You do have to pay for parking in the lot by the hotel. There is some sketchy activity that happens nearby that you have to watch for.

A group of us weren’t overly impressed with this hotel with the rooms we booked. Filthy rooms, things falling apart, limited parking with a surprise $20/night fee, rude staff. The paper thin falls will keep you awake all night with constantly slamming of doors and hearing people in the room next door. Blood stains on the bed sheets, dog food remains found in the closet, The pub across the street is extremely loud. So if your room faces that side good luck trying to sleep. Avoid this over priced, run down, filthy old hotel at all costs. Absolute rip off!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The staff is super courteous and very friendly. We have stayed there 4-5 times and it always went smoothly. It is very conveniently walking distance from Rogers Centre. Rooms are nice, hot water and good pressure in the shower. Breakfast is always always well stocked and very good.

Start off with with review with the staff was great and always friendly. That said unfortunately we had some issues with are stay. The beds they have in there two queen rooms did not fit the frame, and casued some damage. One point bruised my foot and another time hit it with my shin and casued it to bleed. Also are 10 year old smoked his shin as well. Not only that are room key pad failed. All in all had a tough go and hope someone this was a one off situation.

We had an amazing experience! The gentleman at the front was amazing his name was Robel! So kind and understanding, he deserves a raise for his efforts for this business!

Booked through expedia because I figured it'd make it easier, but man was I wrong. I typically only stay at Holiday Inns whenever I go somewhere.but I will no longer be doing that. When I booked it said my charges would be about $197, when I got to the hotel they said there is a $20 parking fee, fine.so now its $217 that should be charged. I check my credit card and I am charged $246.99. No one explained to me why, I have tried calling this location but only get a call centre that tells me to call expedia, which I do and then they tell me to call the hotel. Very backwards here. My receipt that they gave me says $217.59 was my total and yet I was charged an extra $29 for.what? I'd also like to know what an "AB Tourism Levy" is but no one will answer me. I have never paid that before at any holiday inn. No answers from anyone, and when I go to the website to try to put in a billing inquiry, it says it can't find my reservation. So it's just gone? If Expedia cannot figure out certain things, I will be putting in a disputes charge with my credit card company. This is ridiculous, would give less stars if i could.

Staff was incredibly kind and helpful. I needed to store my luggage for an hour to two after I checked out, and I was able to do so. I arrived before the normal check in time at 3pm (I had let them know in advance), and they were accommodating and gave me a room right next to the pool, which was perfect for me! The location is downtown, right near the subway line (so you can easily take the 747 bus and train into town from the airport), some restaurants, bars, and corner stores. The rooms were clean, the beds very comfortable, the amenities quite lovely. An excellent place to stay in Edmonton

Nice breakfast in the morning has a pool and a hot tub building is showing it age but this place doesn't have free parking why not the lot next to it is part of the hotel

The hotel itself was ok, the room itself had some issues, the phone did not work properly, the stopper in the bathtub didn't stay up, and the water would pool and I had to physically hold it up so that the water would drain. The night receptionist tried to help to no avail, and we just ended up staying the night because everywhere else was full as it was an Oilers game night. The next morning when we were checking out, two WONDERFUL gentlemen, ROBEL and TK, asked us how we our stay was, and we mentioned these issues, they were so incredibly accommodating and apologized for the inconveniences that occurred the previous night. Not only did they take off the parking fee, they also gave us a 10% off the room rate. This made me want to come back even though there were minor issues because of how well they handled the whole situation.they were so professional and made me change my mind about the hotel itself. Thank you ROBEL and TK!

Great hotel to stay at. Spent one night, to go to a concert and Rogers Arena. Close to food and walking distance to the arena

Stayed for 5 nights in a standard double queen room. The room was fairly average, ours had a balcony which was nice. They have a vanity separate from the sink in the bathroom which is great for getting ready; putting on make up, the plugs there for the hair dryer were quite annoying though, loose so it keeps falling out. Bath tub in ours was average, older and shallow, so not ideal for a bath. Bedding was really nice, white and pillowy. They have a small hot tub and pool which was enjoyable and not busy during the weekdays. Oh yeah, one more thing. It has a weird smell! Mostly in the lobby, but throughout as well. It must be the cleaner they use, but it pulls memories of a baby changing table. We weren't the only ones to think that either as we consulted a couple others staying. One of them said it always smells like that, as a regular patron, but that you get used to it. We did for the most part. Everyone we met of the staff was very helpful and friendly!

This hotel is a bit dated. Hotel room was pretty standard, nothing impressive. Mirrors were streaky, and lights were burnt out in the bathroom. Nothing major, just noticeable. We will stay here again because the location is everything. We love downtown edmonton, with all the restaurants and its so close to the Ice district. Tonnes of construction thoigh so be ready for the jackhammering early in the mornings.

They charged me on my CREDIT CARD after I had already PAID IN FULL with my DEBIT CARD and now the property refuses to return my money on my CREDIT CARD. Also being IGNORED from the FRONT DESK when I call.

TK and his staff were very accommodating with our girls hockey team. Very pleasant and professional! We had a small issue with our room and they made it right for our family! Was close to our rink which made it nice for all!

Front Desk will not answer phone, been calling 4 days now for charges that was not informed of. Finally got through asked for manager they tried transfering but was hung up on twice. Then got someone claiming to be "someone" who was rude and hung up. Nothing fixed. Front desk customer service was great, TK great job friendly courteous staff at check in. Beds stained from age but room was clean and quiet. Morning breakfast team were great to, helped out alot. Got dinged a $25.00 charge I am still inquiring about and have a charge I believe is a deposit charge but has not been refunded yet. Would not stay again!

Checking in with a Debit Mastercard or VISA Debit is pricey. A damage deposit of $300 was required because a Major Credit Card was not used. Ugh!

Aside from the issue above, the staff were great, and the room was an oasis from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Thanks!

I was having heart surgery on January 25th and the rooms were pre booked and they didn’t Honour the price we had for our confirmation email. They put me on the 6th floor and after a surgery like this that wasn’t good. So we had to make changes and then I decided because they didn’t want to work with us, I will go home after my surgery. My mum worked at a holiday inn around here and she knows what they did was wrong and we were upset. I am home and thank goodness for that because if I stayed that extra night I could use the stairs or elevator - I also can’t walk well. I picked this because it’s 2.3k away from the hospital. I didn’t like the treatment. It was very rude

Nice clean. Only complaint is the sheets are too silky and slide around so all night I was pulling them back up on me

Great stay! Everything from check in (special shout-out to Robel for being so welcoming and kind), to the continental breakfast, to the housekeeping was superb. The price of 2 nights was unbeatable, the food was delicious and the staff all adhered to the provincial guidelines. If we return to Edmonton, we’ll definitely stay again!

Great hotel, great location. The rooms are excellent, the staff really makes you feel welcome. The only thing holding me back from a 5 star review is the breakfast quality is subpar and very inconsistent over the days. Also the jets for the hot tub are terrible with next to no pressure.

Centrally located downtown and close to lots of amenities. Rooms are a little dated, but the rest of the hotel is recently renovated. Parking is a little tight and you have to pay extra for it, but easy to get in and out of. If you want to stay downtown it's definitely a good option. I've stayed here several times and will be back again.

Will not accept mask exemptions without documentation, by law they are not allowed to ask for documentation.

The hotel is okay for a quick trip. It was clean. They are in the down town area. Check in was smooth. We had to pay $12 a day for parking. To be honest its nothing special. You get what you pay for. I actuallt slid on the side walk and him my knee the firat day. Told the front desk lady and she wasn't even concerned.just said sorry and moved right along. Had to tell her she may need to to go salt it and check it out. The lobby was clean. Don't expect anything spectacular.

Impossible to reach the front desk. Cannot arrange payment before hand. Customer service is terrible.

The hotel is at a great location, rooms are clean, n the included breakfast is great. Remember its DT, so parking is extra.

Staff is friendly and very accommodating.
Rooms are spacious and have a lovely balcony overlooking downtown. The pool and gym are clean and well equipped.
The only downside was the breakfast systems but I blame the COVID restrictions. I have to commend for adapting to the legislation and doing their best to provide hot breakfast through this hard times.

Nice room size and bathroom size as well. Little balcony with view, nothing fancy but clean comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was delivered to my room every morning by very cheerful man. All staff were friendly and efficient.

Worst experience in this hotel never expected that after travelling 8 hours long you are asked to wait even after booking the room beforehand as the receptionist informs that the room is still not ready. I reached at 8pm and waited till 10pm but still I got nothing and when I went to room there were used towels, soap and bedsheets and the garbage was full in my room even after seeing COVID if this is the service you guys give then it’s really disappointing. After seeing all this when I went to reception and showed him the pictures that this is my room he still told me to wait as the staff is running busy. I had my exam the very next morning so how long should we wait after booking in advance.

Stayed at the hotel 2 nights and wasint impressed. Their toilet was leaking water so the floor was full of water. The shampoo and shower gel where empty on the day we checked in. The exhaust in the washroom wasint even working.

The 2nd day we went out and came back but there was no room service done. Called to front desk and mentioned about this and they told due to covid they dont do room service until we request. But how do we know that we need to request unless someone tells us?

Service was excellent. Food was great. Alittle pricey, but it is one of the few spots to grab a bite in the rockies so thats fair.

Rooms were nice looking and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was OK not great but better than nothing. We had multiple issues though.we were moved rooms because the first was not properly cleaned including a small amount of poop on the bathroom floor YUCK! We had the final pool time of the night booked. During that time my husband found poop in the pool. We informed staff immediately so the pool could be treated. When I went out to get something from my vehicle we were receiving a ticket for our vehicle not being registered to the hotel (even though it was) the hotel did take care of the ticket but by that point I was in tears over how awful the whole experience had been it was the most stressful hotel stay of my life and the trip isn't even over. We were booked to swim again in the morning. Staff member assured us it would be dealt with by that time or they would call us. They didn't call us so we didn't find out we were being pushed 30-40 minutes (that turned into an hour) back until myself and children went to the front desk after being unable to get in the pool. I don't believe I will ever return I have much more enjoyable stays at significantly cheaper hotels.

Good location and was able to walk to all the meetings I had for the couple of days I was there. I had a room with a balcony which was lovely for fresh air. Front desk was friendly and quick. Breakfast in the morning was great - good selection, fresh and hot. I didn't use any other amenities while I was there.

Excellent location & very friendly staff. The elevators are currently being renovated/replaced but once that's done the hotel should be fully operational. The free wifi & continental breakfast are also very nice amenities to have. Recommend this hotel is you're visiting the downtown Edmonton area.

This hotel was amazing! Clean spacey room, pet friendly, bed was so comfy, breakfast was amazing and the guy (breakfast server) was so helpful and friendly. The room was clean and Ac worked AMAZING. I loved it and when we return to Edmonton we will book again. Thank you to all the staff. Keep up the great work best hotel ever! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!: —)

Rooms were neat and clean. The location was brilliant if i talk about the food and staff was also good. I like their positive attitude, aslo they take care of the customer demand. The management here was also experienced and knowledgeable.

Seen mice in the hallway on the third floor near the elevators. And this place has no customer service. Never again!

The hotel was fantastic also the view was very nice. The services were very fast and to the point. The food was delicious and of good quality. The price was genuine as per great services.

Do not hesitate to stay at this location. Very clean, very convenient. We stayed here for the taste of Edmonton and the location was perfect. Transportation is very easy anywhere from this location. These people even had an extra toothbrush for me. They also recently upgraded their internet service and wireless even on my slower device was a breeze. There even was a market on the street on Saturday morning just a block away!

Was okay. The elevator was down for maintenance. So the one working elevator was super busy and slow. The breakfast was ok.but everything seemed processed.the room was nice though

Nice hotel. Service was perfect with smile. It is well located since center of Edmonton is at 5-10 minutes of walk. People there doing the continental breakfast are very nice and make sure every one is happy.

Good spot. Central. But they don’t tell you about the parking fee that’s not on the initial price.and when there’s concerts the price goes up.

Its a great place. Friendly staff and services. Just that breakfast, which is complimentary is very less variant. Rest a good experience.

Beds were pretty comfortable but we had to pay for parking. The front desk said we had to pay $16 dollars to them but the pay and park just said $3.what? The bathroom hair dryer had a lottttttt of hair in it and the elevator wouldn't come up to the 7th floor.

I would rate it lower if I could have. My friend and I were there on Friday night and discovered cockroaches in the bathroom. Call the front desk only to have them send someone from banquet to kill them. They did take off the parking charge but that was it. I am not happy with the customer service or the fact that there were cockroaches. Way to expensive of a place for what it was. No impressed and will never go back.

Excellent location downtown. Ideal for any show at the Starlite +Temple venue that is a 5 minute walk away. Secure parking, easily accessed location, distanced from Jasper for a quiet night. The rooms are nice, the beds are very comfortable and everything is clean. It isn't the nicest or fanciest but it is my "go to" when staying downtown.
