Holiday Inn Express Red Deer, an IHG Hotel

I like this plaice. Nice swimming pool. Good service, delicious breakfast, pancakes, coffee.

Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and large rooms, great breakfast, and excellent location. We never stay anywhere else in Red Deer!

I happened to be in the lobby Saturday night and overheard the hotel staff and some customers in conversation about an item that missing from their room. In my opinion the hotel staff did not handle this scenario in a professional manner that I would have expected from Holiday Inn staff. The staff showed no empathy towards the customers and their issue. I even noticed that one of the staff members told the lady to go “dumpster diving” and it was the customer’s fault to what happened. I was astonished that the senior staff member did not apologize to the customer for that inappropriate comment or reprimand the staff member for making that comment. Being witness to this interaction has really made me question using Holiday Inn Express for any future travel/accommodation as there are many other options out there. I will not be recommending this hotel to any business colleagues, friends or family.

Checking inn with Ela she was the most professional front deck lady i have encountered in a long time very pleasant i have been staying at this location for over 15 years for work and all the staff are friendly and polite the house keeping staff go up and beyond always with a smile on their face and willing to help rooms are always clean the manger Lisha goes out of her way to help in every way all the staff over the years have been very helpful and friendly I recommend this location to anyone on business or personal stays

Unfortunately the weekend I was visiting was when there was a group of some kind of sports team visiting as well. Kids were running up and down the halls making a ton of noise, the walls are like paper. My ground floor room window led into the pool room, which was also very busy with lots of noise. Thankfully the pool closed at 10pm.
My room was exceptionally warm, which is why they had a portable AC unit attached to the window. But having the window open made the pool room noise even worse. Plus anyone could just climb into my room from the pool room. Looked like it had been attempted before because the screen was really bent.
Traveling as a single woman, this wasn't a great experience and didn't feel all that safe.
When checking in, the front desk employee said my room number and where to locate it, quite loudly, while a man was standing at the desk waiting to ask her a question.
I would not stay here again.

Although their property was sold out, Aira was extremely helpful to work with their sister property to find me a room. Lisha went above and beyond to finalize the reservation with Holiday Inn StayBridge which made the entire experience stress free. Both Aira and Lisha are caring and welcoming. Holiday Inn is so fortunate to have them on their team! Bravo!

The Alberta Premier Volleyball Tournament Teams Stayed at this Hotel for the Red Deer College Hosted Tournament late February The Breakfast was Awesome, Excellent Staff at the free Continental Breakfast, Front Desk and Room Service Personal, very close to Highway 2 N/S, lots of Entertainment, Food and obviously the Tournament!

Rooms super clean-climate control didn’t quite work in the room. Staff really helpful and always smiling. They ran out of yogurt and variety of fresh fruit a couple days, but overall a nice place to stay.

We stayed there last week for 4 nights. It’s a small hotel but it’s the perfect place to sleep in a business week. The hotel was clean, and good attention from the front desk and all the employees. The breakfast was good, fresh, and tasty. You are going to have a good variety of options. The hotel is well located, there’s a Walmart, Shoppers, a bunch of Restaurants, dollar stores, and more nearby.
The only feedback is about the tv, is too small and it would be good if they were smart tv, so you can log in with your Netflix or Disney account.

I stayed here as I was visiting Red Deer while taking photos at the 2022 Festival of Trees. I was here for 3 days. The morning breakfast options consisted of various forms of Eggs, Bagels, Toast, Pancakes, sausage and sausage patties both pork and turkey. Orange. Apple, grapefruit juice and water was also available. Lots of roo. If you are eating as a group or alone. The staff are really friendly and helpfull. There is a pool with a cool slide bit I didnt use it on this visit. This location is located across the street just north of Bower Mall. Wifi internet and very comfortable beds and pillows. The rooms are very clean but I did notice some wear and tear in my room. It didn't affect my stay but it was visible.

I stayed for 2 nights, Dec 19-21. It's currently -29C and nightime low temperatures touched -33C. I deliberately asked the front desk twice, "do all your outdoor electrical receptacles work? ", and I was assured, "yes they do. " My vehicle disagrees as it was near impossible to start. When I urged to speak with the building maintenance manager says, "no, not all of them. The receptacle closest to the front of the building doesn't work. " After 2 nights parked in this spot I am furious as my engine likely suffered from an inability to properly lubricate itself at these temperatures. My first room, 128, had zero cell signal. I couldn't work from the room because I couldn't make calls. Also, it had a smell of stale smoke. The front desk moved me to 135. No smoke smell and I can get cell signal, but the mini-bar fridge made noises all night until I turned it off.

They really should get a zero star. I booked through booking and was charged the one night stay.when I arrived there they give me a room that didn’t have AC plus they charged me another night stay plus another security deposit.
When asking what happened they just said that they reversed it and we’re quite rude. I asked for some details and they were very unclear of everything until I got a little bit upset! Whuch they then explained to me a bit more in detail. Therefore I still give them a zero star for being super incompetent not knowing what they’re doing also being rude about their own mistake and the fact that I have yet to get my funds back. I would not recommend this place to anybody!

FIRST OF ALL. THE ROOM TEMPERATURE WAS HORRIBLE. WE NEEDED TO OPEN THE WINDOW TO GET FRESH AIR AND CLIMATE THE ROOM. THEN AT 3: 45 AM THE FIRE ALARM STARTED TO SOUND AND WE EVACUTED THE HOTEL AND IT WAS RAINING AT THAT TIME. WORST THING IT WAS A FALSE ALARM. AFTER THAT, THE SMOKE DETECTOR WAS BEEPING MAYBE CAUSE IT WAS OUT OF BATTERY SO MY KIDS AND I COULDN'T SLEEP.
FINALLY WAITING FOR OUR BREAKFAST BUT JUST COFFEE, BREAD AND APPLE. THAT WAS ALL!
WE UNDERSTAND DUE TO THE POWER OUTAGE THEY COULDN'T OFFER THE REGULAR BREAKFAST.
DUE TO ALL THOSE INCONVENIENTS, THEY TOLD ME A 50% OFF WILL BE APLLY TO MY BILL AND AS SOON AS THE POWER WILL BE BACK THEY WILL SEND ME THE RECEIPT WITH THE AJUSTMENT. HOWEVER, I DID NOT RECEIVED IT YET AND THE FULL AMOUNT WAS CHARGED TO MY CREDIT CARD. AFTER NOTICE THE CHARGE, I CALLED THEM THREE TIMES IN ORDER TO GET ANY ANSWER OR AJUSTMENT, STILL WAITING FOR.

Was a decent place to stay, me and my family were there for 5 nights, the breakfast was decent, pool was alright, they never changed the empty shampoo bottles though. Will be cheating to see if we can get in next time we go over there!

This was truly the worst hotel experience I have ever had. When we arrived 1.5 hours after the check in time, our room was still not ready. When we finally got to the room we discovered it was on the first floor and attached to the pool. This has been fine at other locations, where the pool is in a massive lobby with greenery and seating-lots of things to absorb the sound, and maintain privacy-but not here. With our window drapes open, we could stare nose-to-nose with a child standing beside the pool waiting to jump in. The window that looked into it was NOT sound proof-we could literally hear EVERYTHING. This was super uncomfortable for us, let alone the families at the pool. The people above us were a family of elephants, the A/C unit made a loud clicking sound that would go off every 60 seconds, the bathroom door didn't close, and there was a used facecloth stuck to the shower curtains. We asked if we could be moved to a different room, which they said they refused. We then asked kindly for a refund to leave, but because we booked with Expedia they said it was up to them. So we called Expedia, who called the hotel. The hotel refused to agree to a refund because "the only issue is they don't like the room. " Well.yes, that is our issue! And the whole point of a hotel? Expedia was lovely to deal with, but this hotel was miserable. They need to be far more forthcoming with the realities of their rooms. Also, there were crackheads hanging around the parking. Good grief!

You can always count on an organization to be sketchy when they require you to pay more to have flexibility in changing your reservation dates.

Do not recommend, on that basis alone.

There are much better options in the area.

Decent hotel, though it's about 50 years old and has seen at least 3 renovations. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are large, but the TVs should be bigger. It was a comfortable stay.

We were a band travelling through town, and were desperate for a place to hang our hat for the night. We we all smelled terrible, and hadn't slept in real beds for days. Colleen + the Holiday Inn crew absolutely hooked it up. SUPER comfortable beds, continental breakfast, great price for the five of us. We will definitely go back.

Had to go to Red Deer to attend RDCU for a couple of days and ended up booking with Holiday Inn. The room was in excellent condition on arrival and stayed and the staff made sure it was that way every day I returned. The front end were very welcoming, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The breakfast was a surprise to me, as I have had to do alot of out of town work before and when I see "free breakfat" it normally means a stale bran muffin or cereal, but like I stated above very surprised to see a nice buffet. If and when I have to come back I will be staying here again and would highly recommend this location.
