Excellent location, very convenient just across the bridge from airport. 2 mins drive from a huge outlet mall. Staff was extremely polite and friendly. We had a senior traveling with us who got sick. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and also extended our checkout time. Special shout out to Ms. Lovepreet for her great customer service. Will definitely come back and stay here. Thank you.

Excellent place to stay and especially economical. Will be making it a always stop any time we're in Edmonton. Had everything we needed. AC worked well. Hot breakfast and comfy beds.

Big downstairs room, comfy bed. Good breakfast but was there for three days and was the same everyday

I had an excellent experience at this hotel. The pillows and bed were both extremely comfortable. The room itself (furniture), was slightly outdated however, compared to other more modern looking hotels that I’ve stayed at, this room was much more comfortable. The room itself (King suite), was very spacious, it even had two TV’s. I love that they use dove products, and the product bottles are on the shower wall, meaning you could use as much as you want versus the tiny, annoying to squeeze bottles that other “fancier”, hotels have. This stay was comfortable and practical.

I would definitely stay here again!

Good rooms and clean, but lies on other websites about them having free cots, and not having many extra supplies. They had only one extra blanket that we got.

Great staff and nice room except that the bathroom doesn't have a fan so it was very humid in the room.

They are pet friendly which was great for us as we were moving and needed somewhere to stay with our pet.

Our daughter left her stuffed animal in the room and the front desk found it and held on to it for us to come and pick up.

This one is in the South area. Location is around 15 mins away from downtown or WEM but there are a lot of shops, groceries, and restaurants near so location is really really good. Quiet and out of traffic. Lobby was small, simple but clean. Parking is huge, one in front and another one at the back. Relatively safe, didn't see any suspicious characters in our 3-day stay. Breakfast as usual is really good, we usually have eggs and 1 meat product in other Holiday Inns that we have stayed, but this one has eggs, 2 meat type and beans. Refills are fast and efficient and the ladies there really asked you if you need help and you need anything. The breakfast area is also big. Pool is small but sufficient and hot tub is really hot, great at the end of the day. Covid protocols are still observed which is good. Should work on their elevators. Only one was working at that time. Hopefully, they make it faster or put another one.

Great customer service from frontdesk staff especially Mary and Sajan. Appreciate their efforts. Great customer service always rules and it makes you come back and we would definitely stay here again and would recommend too.

Went in on August 25 at about 9: 30 am to check on a 2 room reservation that I made. Waited for about 20 minutes as there was no one at the front desk. Other people were waiting too. Saw a cleaner and asked if she can get someone to help, but she returned and said she cannot find anyone. Another cleaner came later, asked her if she can please look for someone to assist. She started knocking on doors and after a while a guy (he must be the front desk guy) and a lady came out of a room. No apology or anything. Needless to say I canceled my 2 rooms immediately (was booked for 3 nights). I went to Holiday Inn on Parsons and they helped me immediately. I will never return to this Holiday Inn Express on Calgary Trail - don’t know how the rooms look but horrible service at front desk. Please get rid of people who do not want to do their job!

We Came From Far Place To attend The Pope Mass, i travel like 3hours Only To Find Out That night Will Be So traumatizing Experience With My Kids they New that Electrical Wiring At The Pool are Broken And still let Kids Swim They Only Put Wet Floor Sign and a Table We only Stay There For 15 mins And Explosions Happen its Like Fire works! Kids were scared Did Not Able to Enjoy The Pool, No apologies No Compensation from The Management! If They Just Tell People That The Pool Is Not Operating It Might Be better rather than Letting Them Swim And Putting Kids Life In Danger ‘

This deserves a less than one star review. We booked this hotel well in advance of our weekend stay as we live 6 hours out of town. When we arrived the hotel was going through significant renovations and never disclosed this at all through the booking process or through the check in process. These renovations included painting of the outside of the building. The first night we stayed there the ac was not working at all and our hotel room got up to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. We brought this to their attention and the maintenance personnel just pointed outside the window and explained that it was “due to the construction”. When we looked they have all of our external AC units COVERED with plastic for painting that was not removed and the hotel refused to get removed by the contractors. When we asked for compensation for this as the hotel room was UNBEARABLE the compensation was laughable. Not to mention we were told we could speak to the manager numerous times only to constantly be told they are “unavailable”. The last manager who we talked to refused to warrant their great customer service and slogan of the “perfect place to stay”. Other things we ran into: the hot tub was luke warm, my phone charger miraculously went missing (we were told if Housekeeping would have found it it would be in the lost and found, but no one has access to the lost and found except housekeeping), parking was atrocious with the renovations, etc etc etc.

Awful experience, no functioning A/C in rooms due to renovations. Management is unwilling to accept responsibility and offer anything other than a miniscule discount.

Great customer service and rooms are in great shape! The only issue would be the elevators. Constant elevator issues are starting to become a deterrent.

Stayed here 2 nights, worst experience ever. From my window I witnessed staff destroying and killing a nest of geese outside the hotel, disgusting and barbaric behavior from this chain. This event ruined the holiday for the children as they watched in horror.

Road noise was horrible, and not very walkable. Found a tiny bug on my pillow the first night as well, didn't seem like much of a problem though. Wont stay here again and wouldn't recommended it.

Reasonable price, free good breakfast, ample parking, rooms are ok, TV was small and kind of old, doesn’t connect with wifi or blue tooth, did not find any usb connection to charge phone near the bed side table, staff is nice especially in the breakfast room, will come again!

Rooms are a bit outdated but staff (especially ones during breakfast) were always super friendly and really accommodating.

Poor service! Go somewhere else! That's what the front desk said when e worked all night trying to get a room in the morning!

It’s been nicely renovated.
Perfect location if you want to stay in the south side of Edmonton.
Gym was very good, clean and enough equipment and TV’s.
Lobby looks really nice after the renovation.
Room was clean, neat and very good size.
Bathroom, shower was good, clean.
Breakfast was very good also.

We called the front desk to complain about noise from the other people there and the rude man Douglas Chan said "we don't have to listen to you, call the police" then he hung up on us.

This is bar none the worst hotel in Edmonton. Stay somewhere else.

I’ve stayed at this hotel numerous times in the last several months as it is convenient to a location I frequent on a biweekly basis. Most times, staff are mostly friendly (some great ones, some not), the room is clean enough and beds are comfortable. I’ve stayed at nicer Holiday Inn’s in the city, but sacrifice for convenience. Sometime during my last city trip (could be at the hotel, could’ve been another location), my rear bumper was dinged. We didn’t realize this until we returned home (wet roads, muddy vehicle). I called the hotel to see if they have cameras. Turns out they do, but are unwilling to view the footage and will only review it if we involve police. My arrival and departure time were during a very specific window on Saturday. A different chain I stayed with on Friday night offered to review their footage and if action was necessary they would then need to involve the police - that’s completely fair! I’m very disappointed in the lack of support here. I will not be back again.

This is a nice hotel. Free breakfast! Price is fine, totally acceptable.
The staff are courteous and friendly.
Will definitely use the service again.

Arrived and checked in and immediately found only one passenger elevator in operation and more than a dozen people waiting for it. By morning BOTH elevators were out of order.
We checked in at 3 and there was lots of parking, when we returned at 10 after our event, there was NO parking spaces left. People had parked along the fence, at the ends of the marked parking, and along the wall of the building, reducing access to a single vehicle pass which made getting in or out quite a chore.
In our room, while it was clean and well-stocked with pillows (a real plus and the reason they got 2 stars), the bathroom fan didn't work and the toilet did not flush consistently. Makes it hard to shave or apply make-up when the mirror is completely fogged up after 2 showers.
While I did not expect 5-star accommodations for $135 a night, a non-franchise motel that we stay at a lot is $40 cheaper a night and at least everything always works.
I certainly think this is not common for the chain because we stayed at a different Holiday Inn in Edmonton for our son's wedding and THAT was a completely different experience for the same price.

Not a clean place. Windows are dirty and dusty.
Bathroom are not clean. Not Enough amirite.

We just had a wonderful stay here for 2 nights with our 3 kiddos ages 7,6, and 4. There were a few little odd things that could be improved upon Iike adding a water fountain to the aquatic room with the pool and hot tub, and the kitchenette should have been stocked with disposable cutlery, plates, and cups. The breakfast had a large selection, all hot and fresh each day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would 100% stay here again. The cleaning staff, and kitchen staff are super knowledgeable and so friendly. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Pros:

The Breakfast! By far this was the best part of the stay! All you can eat buffet with lots of options for everyone. Very friendly staff.
  Room included both Firm and Soft Pillows.
Amazing Sheets and Comforters. If they offered them for sale I probably would have bought them.

Cons:

Dated Furniture / TV
Sheets on both beds had stains
Worn Carpets, Lamp Shade with holes, water damaged door to Bathroom (Suite 503)
Room Sleeps 4 but only has two tea (1 decaffeinated) ans two coffee in room
Pool closes at 11pm so was closed by the time I arrived and was the only reason I booked this hotel location.
Pool depth was only 4ft and had some odd vinyl pool liner. Maybe a cheap fix for a previous leak?
No pool change rooms or showers just a single occupancy bathroom and a pool side shower (With Hot & Cold), Soap dispenser was empty.
Pool water was milky to the point where you could barely see your foot in 4ft of water. Heavily treated? Or just not filtering properly? Never seen pool water like that.
No fan in Bathroom or anything to deal with odors and steam.
Bathroom had hairs from previous occupants stuck to the wall and around the sink counter. Obviously not getting properly and thoroughly cleaned.
Woke up around 6am or so from a loud noise from outside our window on the street level. Garbage Truck?
Two Main Elevators Out of Order for over a week now! Had to use the smaller service Elevator?
I wasn't given a recipet when I checked in or out.

Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. Rooms were clean and beds were so comfy. Breakfast in the morning was buffet style and there was lots to choose from. You won't be disappointed

I find Douglas Chan to be unprofessional and unwilling to handle the problems caused by the hotel. Hotel management is not his cup of tea.

We had a Wicked stay there Comfy beds, laid back had a blast in pool, great breakfast worth the price and the staff are very nice.

Horrible experience, staff was pleasant enough, but couldn't make up for the lack of communication or lack of ability to accommodate the situation that arose. The room could have been cleaner. It was incredibly noisy. All in all it was not a good experience and I will never stay here again nor would I recommend anyone else to stay here.

I don’t know where to start… this hotel doesn’t even deserve a one star review. The staff are friendly but the manager is very rude. He was blaming us for breaking the elevator when the button for the elevator didn’t light up.
The elevator took so long, one elevator was broken so we were waiting for 20mins for an elevator. There was not enough parking AT ALL to accommodate a fully booked hotel.
There’s no exhausts in the bathrooms so the mirror gets fogged up and so hot.
The free breakfast is alright, pancake machine always has a line up. Seating area for breakfast is small.
Every floor has an icing machine but the one on our floor was broken, had to go to a different level to get ice.
Definitely WON’T come back. Poor customer service and management is rude.

Almost all of the lobby was under construction. Also the floors with the rooms were also under construction. They could have informed is before hand so we could book somewhere else as the kids are all allergic. The rooms were not too bad but I expected much better from Holiday Inn. The building was probably an old building and that is probably why the rooms were not upto the mark. They showcase a pool in the website but it was closed while checking in.

Still in a state of renovation when we stayed there, so it can't quite be a five-star yet. Good work of adapting their services during the pandemic. Rooms were clean but simple. Location is close to major routes and shopping, but road access is somewhat limited.

TVs locked against using portable streaming devices. Slow WiFi. No cups in bathroom. No blackout curtains - just small/cheap blinds on window - so sun blares into the room at 6am or earlier. Building under construction. Small, cheap TVs. These are small things but they add up to a negative experience. Given that most other hotels offer all these things, I'd recommend staying elsewhere. It's especially odd that they prevent the TV's from switching inputs to use portable streaming devices.

Noisy from various sports teams. Yelling in the hallway and honking car horns in the driveway at 3am. Breakfast was adequate but very busy.

It’s basic. But there’s nothing wrong with that. Price is reasonable. Has a complimentary breakfast.

Nice clean hotel with a decent breakfast. Pretty quite and within walking distance of the mall across the highway. I'd stay there again the next time I'm in the South part of Edmonton.

After a long drive we arrive to check in
Politely ask if we can possibly get a room on the top floor.the front desk tells us we can have what she can find.
We get a room on the 4 Th floor
we ask one more time if there is anything on the top floor we are told no again.
So as we are checking out the room we notice no tub
We go down ask if we can possibly get a room with a tub
We are told we never specified we wanted a tub in the first place
We offered to pay more if that was the issue
After a while on the computer she tells us we will be on the top floor.
Noticing that the top floor is empty

So our first impressions were not great.

In the morning we head to the pool to swim and relax in the hot tub

To find out they don’t have a hot tub.

So the photos they have are of another holiday in.
That was a disappointment.

Overall it’s a clean new hotel that we booked for a two night stay

But if we hadn’t already paid we would properly check out early and find another hotel.

You really don't get much considering some of the places I've stayed. Not even water bottles in the room fridge. Which is brutal considering how cheap it is. My room had wet towels when I arrived nearly 8 hour after the check in time so who knows how wet they really we're. The breakfast is nothing special but if your up at 5: 30 rather then 8 then you'll actually get some picks on what you'll get vs my second morning at 8 am where nothing was even on anymore so I had a yogurt and some juice. (All that was available) never got to use the pool or workout room because they closed around 11 which is later then the time I returned. Which I mean the workout room looked like a broom closet so it couldn't be much of a issue to leave it open 24/7. Other then that the beds we're stiff but the pillows we're nice. My view was a lot filled with trucks and equipment so I mean no win on that part either. I feel like I was overcharged for what I got but what are you going to do. It's Edmonton. To summarize it was ok. Overall would stay else where for the price.

We stayed in the hotel and attended a Pickleball tournament. Breakfast was hot and there was a lot to choose from. Attendants were friendly and very efficient. Coffee in the lobby. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Good value. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay. Feels like home. Complimentary breakfast, wifi, pool, fitness room. Got everything you need at a good price. I love the customer service they give. Dont be afraid to ask questions! They know what they are doing and arent afraid to help. Room service and house keeping is the bomb diggity. Everything is clean.

Very friendly and accommodating. I checked in very late (4 am) and was offered late checkout. Front counter staff went out of her way to find and loan me a phone charger.

Good clean room.only thing is the lady at desk told my room is $110/night and got charge $144 on my Visa. And I stay one more night different room $130/night.charge $177 a night. Never again use my Visa. Cash or debt next time

Front desk staff, JeJe, “housekeeping supervisor”, and the manager Lisa, all need an upgrade on their customer service. Showed me a fake picture of a sink filled with DuMaurier cigarette butts in it and did not want to give my deposit back. We did not smoke in our room or leave butts in the sink- have been “red-flagged”. The staff refuse to email a copy of the fake picture and refuse to let me speak to the owner. Have stayed at this same hotel many times- have never experienced such rude customer service.

Well situated for South Edmonton. Good rates friendly staff. A little tricky getting in and out though.

Normally I like Holiday Inns but this one had an odd smell throughout the place but more so in the rooms. Also the elevator was broken so they were down to one and it took SO long. Their pool isnt huge so I wouldn't take my kids to it. Its like an oversize hot tub. The staff are awesome! But the hotel needs a major updating.

Descent enough. They gave me a very late checkout for which I’m grateful. The staff were descent. The rooms had certainly seen better days. Not at all what’s I’ve come to expect from Holiday Inn and pricey for what it was but still it was fine.

I stayed there for 13 days. Staff was very nice and friendly. Room felt very nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Free breakfast was good, good variety, only wish it lasted until 10 AM. Location is good, far from downtown though. A good place to stay, great service. Will book again.

Had a great stay here. The rooms were clean, the staff were pleasant and helpful with check in and out. Continental breakfast had a nice array of options. All of the usual amenities plus a snack shop. Overall, very pleased with this Holiday Inn Express and would highly recommend

Typical budget accommodation with need of updates and some minor maintenance issues. Bathroom could use a fan and toilet seat needs tightening. Elevators slow and noisy. Decent breakfast options but hard to enjoy when there are no environmentally friendly options. Plastic cutlery, plastic cups, Styrofoam plates and bowls. Very off putting. Coffee available all day. Staff friendly. Parking lot is convenient.

The rooms are clean the beds and pillows feel amazing, they gave you a free breakfest but the pool is small

Nice hotel, decent breakfast, good time. Only issue is that getting into it from some directions is not intuitive.

Breakfast was good. But the shower was cold, coffee maker broken and they didn't clean the room or replenish TP during my three day stay

Staff is very friendly, breakfast was a nice touch. The beds are not as comfortable as I would have liked but over all for the price it is worth it.
