It really lives up to its name, it is a very large church, but it feels like a small church, very warm people, full of Gods glory. I am at home here

Alright, so for all of you hypocrites out there coming and shaming everyone and the church itself. Grow up… sure maybe some things are said differently than other churches. But that doesn’t mean you can just throw fire at the church. Quit being immature, stop sharing your life stories with pastors. If you don’t like it. Simply go somewhere else right? There are more than 1 church in this town.

Another thing.
Stop complaining about the fog machine and lights. Look at elevation church and hillsong and TONS of other churches around red deer and Canada and the world!
STOP having a problem with it. It is simply for ATMOSPHERIC setting. Not concert. It is for setting the mood and making a bit better for experiences.

Aaaand another fact.
Churches do not force you to give your money.there has never been a moment in this church where an usher or pastor has FORCED someone to give their money.
Now now.pastor mel can get wound up and tell you to tithe but he isn’t reaching in your pocket for it. So enough is enough!
it is YOUR choice to Tithe. AND it says In Matthew 23: 23, Jesus warns against focusing too much on the rules of tithing without paying attention to the more important things like justice, mercy and faithfulness. Bottom line? You should be giving in some way. But tithing is more of a spiritual topic than a financial one.

And how bout another one for all you church goers?
The new building. Haha
Crazy hey?
Who knew, that having the funds after 51 years would build a brand new facility to host some big names and the word of God in?
This new building is a NEW vision. The old has gone the new has come. Why be so caught up in the same cycle? Jump out of that hateful box you’re in and maybe join in and be faith lead.

I know a lot of people have left home church because of the pastoral views and scenes but that doesn’t only happen here. It happens everywhere. No church is perfect. Nobody is perfect.

This new building is going to bring in so many people, so many artists, so much talent, and this place is also being used for city events, and Christian artist tours.
Yes we will have the sound and lighting and everything needed to host specific events.

So stop being so jealous, if you call yourself a Christian, then freakin act like it, love on people, love the churches, maybe switch it up every once in a while. Just stop putting the church down. It’s disgusting behaviour. And I could assure you God doesn’t like it. Be blessed in every way!

They don't even deserve one star nothing good has come out of going to this church. All they care about money they don't care about people.

Definitely got culty, red flag vibes from this place. A few things that stood out to me were:

Most importantly, I didn't hear the gospel. If you can go to a Christian church on any given Sunday and the gospel is not clearly presented, something is desperately wrong.

The fog machines and the light show during the worship time. They were singing about Jesus, but I couldn't tell if they were more into Jesus or more into making a production/"experience" out of what should be a sacred time to worship God. I mean filming the singers and putting them on the big screens? What?

The money. This organization clearly collects or appears to have a lot of money. There's nothing wrong with having a lot of money, but watching a church spend it on a massive building, fancy clothes, fog machines and rock concert quality audio equipment has me seriously questioning their priorities. Other reviews mention that the pastor has multiple houses. If that's true, that's an irresponsible expenditure of money for a Christian leader.

The hoots and hollers! Oh my. Not only is it distracting, but one must question WHY are there so many people calling out when the pastor is speaking? It seemed like they had been conditioned to feed his ego as he spoke. I imagine if no one had called out, it would have been like watching a sitcom without the laugh track. It was like being in a field of sheep, listening to them all "bahhh" as the shepherd does his thing.

Another crucial red flag was that this church has female pastors. Having women in pastoral roles is a clear violation of Scripture and reveals a church's contempt for the word of God when it doesn't align with their personal feelings.

Overall, I'd say this church is right where it belongs: at the end of history, where there has been a falling away, both from solid biblical sermons, and Christian gatherings where Christ is central, and you can tell Christ is central because nothing else is obstructing your view of Him, like fog machines or a worship time that for all intents and purposes is simply a modern concert with Christian themed music.

Listen: I'm not saying these people don't love Jesus or are false prophets or something dramatic like that. I'm saying their priorities are out of wack, and they've clearly been sucked into the idea that for church to be "successful", it must be mega, it must be flashy, it must have physical properties that attract and lure people in according to their fleshly proclivities. I challenge the Home Church leadership to take away all the lights and fog and production factors, and see what happens. Will the congregation survive without it?

I experienced my first time trying to call this place I was highly disappointed as when you hit to be put in line to be answered or in queue if you are paying attention and it asks you to press zero to confirm you're still on the line it just disconnects and it repeats this process every 30 seconds so if you're on waiting for like 3 minutes you've done this at least 12 times.
I really wish this church would have a general voicemail answering machine.

Pastor from this church gave a church goer a raving referance to rent out my place.turns out this tenant was a cronic hoader, pathological liar, and a recovery drug addict. Turns out the pastor was "helping" with her problems. She should have disclosed that Ms. Yuckin was a nightmare.
