This was our 3rd apartment in Calgary and first time with Hopestreet management. They rip off your hard earned money. Last 2 times we got the full deposit back as we always make sure the house is clean and required things are replaced. But Hopestreet charged $124.69 just for replacing 1 bulb and a stopper (not to mention we bought and kept it in their office) as we didn’t have the ladder.
Pathetic experience with Hopestreet and would never recommend them to anyone.

Hope Street has been managing my property for 4 years, and I have always had a great experience with them. They are attentive and made renting out my condo painless! I also found their fees to be competitive to others offering similar services and good value. I would use their services again and would recommend them to anyone looking for a property management company.

Monique Windrem was my listing agent while renting my condo with Hope Street for many years. Each year upon renewal, Monique would help me decide if the market was favorable to sell my home or if renting was still the best option. This year, she called and told me that with the hot market, this is the time to finally sell! My condo sold within days! She was professional and helpful to both the tenants and myself as the owner. The selling process was a breeze. I'm so glad Monique was there to help me in every step of renting and selling my home!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Never use the Calgary service as a tenant. At the end of your lease they will do everything to keep your down payment. They will avoid talking to you when you will try to contact them. You wont be able to talk to the manager to explain the problems you are having and they will rub you. For instance I called them before moving out telling them that the microwave was not working, it was 9 years old from 2009 instead of sending someone to take a look at it to see what is wrong, they had it replaced with a newer one. Then they charged my down payment for the new microwave. The price of the old one was around 300$ and I got charged 600$ for the new one. What a joke. The agent who failed to send someone to diagnosed the problem was avoiding the subject and would not talked. I feel like it was easier for them to cover their mistake by wrongly charging the leaving tenant. Don’t get rubbed by these people. More over the agents on the ground have some untrusty cleaning business watch out.

Hope Street Management is horrible. The company only cares about collecting their 10% every month. I had to fire them after I came back because the rental property was trashed by a disgusting tenant (a refugee who HopeStreet chose from all the applications submitted) “oh we have a thorough review and we only choose qualified applicants”. It was all lies and just banners. They only informed about the damages a month before the tenant wanted to leave. They changed tenants two times in a year and each time they rip you off with $700 fees for advertising. To use RentFaster you charge people that much. “Rip off, rip off”. The first tenant was a family with single income. Only one parent working, are you kidding me. And to sweeten the deal for them, after the disgusting tenant left, they dispatched cleaning crews who cleaned nothing and charged me $600 for it. Bottom line it’s a rip off company and you can manage your own property way better than them.

Mark Thomas is the most arrogant person at hope street. You got one star thanks to him. He would come into property and would charge extra if things didn't go his way. And made demands On things that they should have fixed. Owners had cats and had removed screens from. Main floor windows. These guys charged us not only our full $2100 deposit but expect additional fees. Mark Thomas you have zero people skills and should not be in this business. I do not recommend Hope street. Enjoy ur $2100 and all the intrest you made in it. And please do not respond with your copy and paste response. Not interested.

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS - AVOID THEM AS MUST YOU CAN, RUN AWAY FOM THEM!
The worst business I have ever deal with. Complete ignoring and bulling. I have no washer over a month and my landlord Tunde Kolozsvari refused to replace it and it is not possible to fix because it is too old and the pars are not made anymore.
Can you imagine living without a washer over a month and have a cleaning business? They ruined my businees in addition to everything.

I was pushed to the point where I have to move forward.

1. When I started renting in 2020, I was promised by Renee that I am going to have a storage room shortly. Still have nothing.
2. When I moved in I was promised by Allan that he is going to fix my patio in the summertime of 2021 and painted the door in the linen closet. Nothing has happened.
3. Since I moved in, the faucet in the main bathroom was very loose. Allan promised to fix it. Last time he promised that that faucet would be fixed two weeks ago. Nothing.
4. My washer has not been working for a month now. My landlord told me heshe is going to send a repair guy. The repair guy came in - very rude and unpleasant - and said that it is not possible to fit it because it is not possible to order new parts to the washer. The landlord said they are going to order the part (not sure how and where while these parts are not made any longer at all and do not exist). Later on, the landlord said that heshe ordered the wrong part and they are going to order the right one. Allan told me that there are no parts and buying a new washer is $2000 and it is way too much; so, they decided not to do anything at this time. I still have to use other sources to wash my personal things. I will provide you with the bill for laundry to be paid when I get a new washer.
5. After the flood I had an inspection from AEHS (Alberta Environmental health Services) regarding the mold growth. The inspector in his report clearly mentioned that the whole carpet replacement has to be done but February 04,2022 and not later. They replaced it March 18,2022.6. The walls have to be repainted, I was told that the contactors have this job done on March 18,2022. But, the job was not done - the walls are still damaged. They lied to me. Allan came to check it and confirmed that the walls have not been repainted yet.
7. One of the days Allan came to my place while I was not at home for an inspection. Since then, I do not have the inspection report yet and I doubt that anything was inspected. I requested the report from my landlord. Still have nothing,
8. The contactors that my landlord sent to my place damaged my personal belongings. The landlord refused to deal with it and claimed that these are all my issues.

Hope Street has managed my rental condo for the last 8 years. I couldn't ask for better managers. They are helpful and responsive, quick to resolve maintenance issues, and take the stress out of renting the apartment. Thanks, Hope Street team!

This is a industry where getting back to people is a priority this is people trying to find a place to live.

Shame on you for not getting back to people such an unprofessional company

Edit: There is one side to the story- your company posted an add for a rental in Pineridge I emailed the Lister IAN multiple times and called which would go straight to voicemail and left 3 voicemails.no call back nothing. I understand its a busy time.but to be ignored after making multiple inquires tells me one thing I was willing your company wasn't. I am not a tenant i was going to be a future tenant and a good one but your guy Ian just didnt give me the time of day so how am i supposed to like a company like yours?

Please think twice before using Hope Street for your property management services. I hired this company 15 months ago, it was terrible from the beginning. They did find great tenants but that was about it. From the very beginning they dropped the ball and continue to do so 15 months later. We were told they would be taking care of our property for us and we have done everything on our own so far, they haven't even done one single inspection of our property this whole time and the house is a disaster now and I am terrified what we will find when our lease is up. Not pleased at all, the communication is terrible as well, they make you wait for weeks before getting back to you if ever, calls and emails alike. Please just be careful and do your homework before you choose this company and honestly just do it yourself, you can save a ton of money! Will not recommend this company

We had an appointment tonight to view a 1106 Colgrove Ave NE in Calgary AB with their leasing agent. He confirmed via email and asked me to text when we were on our way. I sent him a text at saying we were on way and getting there a touch early. We waited and had still not arrived 15 minutes after the appointment time or responded to my texts. I tried calling and it went to voicemail. I sent another text. We waited another 15 minutes, tried calling and texting again, again with no answer or response.

Tonight was our only free night this week as my wife travels for work so we are extremely disappointed that the agent completely no-showed and did not communicate with us at all. For a company that boasts about it's reputation and "Premium Care", this is a very poor reflection. We wasted our evening and unfortunately it's a property that we really wanted and now probably won't get.

Terrible. Had a rental with this company. They let the tenant move in without all the damage deposit. Had three different managers throughout the process; each made mistakes and then the next was not responsible for the last.

The tenant was not paying rent for months they would not go to the site to collect they would only call. Obviously the tenant would not pickup the phone. The tenant had a dog, they went onsite for five minutes; tenant changed the locks so would let them in for five minutes when they left brought the animal back.

After months of fighting with incompetent people at this company I told them they would not have the renewal business and told them not to clean the unit. They cleaned the unit and charged us nearly $300 in move out fees. They told the tenant that the property was not damaged and returned the 66% of the damage deposit to them. Property cost about $6000 post the tenant move out to be repaired.

Stay far, far away from this company. In the end they finally agreed that they were liable and made a gentleman's agreement to adjust the balance. Although none of this was on the last transfer, and they ended up adjusting back/the statement.

Terrible, find anyone else, anyone else will be better.

The least professional property management company of all time. Zero upkeep on their properties. If you are a renter, steer clear. If you are an owner and looking for a property management company, look elsewhere.

I booked two showings with this company during my apartment search. First one cancelled 3 hours before. Second one, the agent didn't show. I called and texted him and got no response. Looked at the booking online and it has been cancelled at some point with no message to me.
Thank you for wasting my time. If this is how you treat potential renters, I can't imagine how you'd treat me if you managed to get me to sign a lease.

Looking at other reviews, I think I dodged a bullet with this one.

Horrible company run by scam artists. Had a leaking pipe that took them a year and a half to get fixed. They will charge you on getting the house re-Keyed after moving out which is totally not allowed. We had something that looked like mold and it took them almost 4 months to even send the "maintenance manager" out. They will try to charge you for every little thing once moving out. God forbid you neglect your bushes out front cause you will never hear the end of it. They will try to charge you for something that is just wear and tear on the house and then make a profit from their plumber as a finder fee that they will charge you for which is illegal. If you do end up renting from this dispicaple company expect to have to go to landlord tenant court to get your damage deposit back. NEVER USING THEM AGAIN

Dealing with Hopestreet was a nightmare. I recommended Hopestreet to my parents since they live out of town.it was a huge mistake.

They have cleaned the property and did minimum touchs on the property and charged us thousands of dollars.it was throwing out the garbage and fixing the baseboards.they didn't even replace with new parts.they simply put them back to the wall. For 2 months they tried to find a tenant but failed to do so we decided to rent it out on our own.they still charged us for things that they never completed and lost our keys, fobs, garage opener.when I talk to them.they are just busy blaming on others.the office says it's the agent's fault, vice versa. I am sick of dealing with these problems.and I would not recommend Hopestreet to anyone else who is looking to find a rental management company.

Absolutely the worst company and the 2.9 stars ratings shows it! Watch out for your damage deposit.they'll make up all kind of excuses to charge you. Very dishonest and this applies to all of their representatives. If they make any promises.make sure to get it in writing.
To the Management: You're Robotic reply to my review shows how much you don't care about personal Good Customer service. All replies are pretty much the same just telling you how big the company is BS. So patronizing!

I would give you ZERO star rating if I could. This is the absolute worst company to deal with. 2 weeks prior to signing a lease with this company, we were made false promises that our apartment would be livable. It has now been 6 weeks and still NOTHING has been done. On our move in date, we were told the place was cleaned by professionals, but being I am an inspector, I had pointed out to the agent that it was not cleaned by any means by anyone, and it was clear as day even though she still continued to disagree. She even began to tell us that we can leave the apartment a disaster when we move out and make it someone else problem to clean it. Are you kidding me? ! For those people looking to rent from this company, I would suggest doing your research, take the reviews of tenants renting from this company in to consideration and not the contractors that work for the company. Renting from this company is a huge disappointment and I hope that no one else has to go through the things we are going through.

Absolutely worst experience that I ever had. This company seriously lacks professionalism. Hope Street will be there for you to take every penny from you at your disadvantage. Make sure that you do some due diligence on this company before sign-up. You will find their online ratings polarized between two extremes and hopefully figure out why in the end.

These people are the worse management company around. They get you into a place tell you what you want to hear, you sign a lease agreement and then things change fast. Very disappointed in these people. I will never rent again from them. And I agree with Lucus, if that's the best response you have no response is better than a stupid one.

If you want your place in hands of a company that is completely unprofessional, unresponsive to your inquiries and their mistakes yet quick to charge you thousands of dollars for the jobs they didn't do or did them so poorly that requires hiring someone else to do it the second time, this is the perfect company for you. If not, stay as far away as possible! Plus, if you have a mortgage to pay so you want your rent deposited in a timely manner, it won't happen, and they won't respond to your questions. They held back the rent for four months so keep that in mind.

I will never use this company and will tell anyone that might be considering it it’s a bad choice. Very bad management and the worst part is, the radio commercial, that features that god awful varying tone, that sounds does nothing but give me a headache and irritate the hell out of me and anyone else who is around.
I just turn the radio off when I start to hear it.
It’s funny because I’ve never heard anyone say anything good when they are forced to listen to that.
