The location is moderate. There are not many varieties of breakfast brunch, but the taste is actually suitable. The layout is clean and neat.

I do not understand what any of the positive reviews are based on. I can only imagine they are based on the pool party or perhaps left by people who attended private events here. There is no way the positive reviews can be left by people who have spent a night here in a hotel room. This is by far the most uncomfortable hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. The beds are like ply wood. The pillows are the cheapest pillows made. The hotel does not provide a top sheet. The room is very hot and dry, lowering the thermostat does nothing. Also be careful what room you select. I selected the King Studio not realizing it is a literal studio. The bathroom is not a separate room and the sink is next to the dresser. If you need reliable WiFi you must pay an additional fee for it. They do provide free WiFi but it is very slow. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that it is in a good location. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

Booked a room over the phone with special rate on oct 30, after staying at hotel, we realized that we were charged at full price. Receptionist and hotel manager were especially unprofessional. They couldn't even admit they could have made a mistake or let alone offering any sorts of refund. Worst experience ever. I will file consumer complaints against these guys, and advise the show organization to stay sway from this hotel for any future events.

Although the room was exactly what I expected, I was expecting a better view and perhaps a change for a 2 nite stay. I firmly believe that I was put in this room because I booked using an OTA (hotels.com) and not direct book with the hotel. I know the occupancy was not 100%. I’ve worked in hotels, in Management and although the room was booked using the OTA, I would never assign a room with a service roof view! (Pipes etc). Based on the lack of concern and the check out staff not asking the “always to be asked question “- How was your stay with us? ”.
The in house staff was not friendly other than Jamar (?) at the bell desk. The hotel uses a text message system to communicate with guests but it appears to only ask questions and not act on them. I would definitely book somewhere else in the city next stay.
I travel a lot and pay attention to everything. I was looking forward to this stay and it was a service disappointment.

It's quite frustrating that despite making online reservations, we were unexpectedly told about an additional $45 upon arrival at the hotel. The confusion arises when selecting more than 2 people per room—there's only one bed available, leaving us wondering where the extra occupants are supposed to sleep. This issue should not fall on us, but rather on your management team and the online booking platform you utilize. There's a clear need for better coordination to ensure accurate information and a smoother guest experience.

Rooms, beds, and service was great. We had the top floor room but the balcony door and view was blocked due to maintenance. The hotel comp'd us breakfast at the yellow bistro and adjusted the room rate for the inconvenience. Way to make it right! And yellow bistro had a great breakfast and atmosphere. Location of hotel was great for hitting some downtown spots. Free parking underground was super convenient. Recommended!

The service at the pool was great. The services was helpful and staff friendly. The beds comfy.
My only complaint was the breakfast. It was disappointing and cold. My eggs were over cooked and hash browned tasted as if they were under the warmer a very long time.
I would stay here again but eat breakfast elsewhere

It is situated in downtown of Calgary. By the side of the hotel there are a lot of parking space. The hotel has its own parking lot. It is not a very large hotel but it gives people a modern and artistic feeling. Hotel rooms are good size with a patio. Service is good. The beautiful convention room is big enough to cater 200 - 300 people. I went there for a wedding function and it was impressive.

I usually stay at Hotel Arts when I go to Calgary (4 times a year for work) they have amazing customer service and the rooms are very nice. The pool is awesome too! At the front desk, make sure you ask for Ryan, he's usually the one who helps me out and is the best

The pool is amazing. 2 hour max at the pool doesn't make sense though, nobody would ever complain about 3 hours but 2 is too short.

Very small rooms although i booked the luxury room.there was no mini fridge in the room.the food at the poolside looked and tasted like it was old and just microwaved.the employee at the poolside who walk you to your table was very rude.one employee on the phone was very rude she was shouting valet parking left my car on the street

Poolside is generally great, it’s the only poolside bar in Calgary so it is what it is. Most times the service is pretty quick, once in a while you can really be left sitting without so much as a water for a half hour.
Having said that, pool is currently only open to hotel guests Friday to Sunday so be forewarned there, not a guest, no entry for you.

And it’s now $20 if you so much as dip a toe in what’s essentially a kiddy pool.

A million dollar idea for anyone with the money is to get another pool bar going in Calgary, there is definitely demand that I don’t think this place can satisfy.

Overall it’s a decent spot and I do enjoy spending time here.

The service is horrible they are not accommodating at all and the pool was terrible we order food and drinks they took forever to come out you would think with two hour limit they would be a little quicker and the food was horrible. Probably won’t stay here ever again over price not worth it. They should spend more time and money training there staff and make it a better experience at there hotel.

Staff is amazing and attentive, and the location is great. However, amenities are subpar for what you pay. Scratchy towels, mid-tier bedding, damaged hardware in bathroom. No smart TV or inputs to use my streaming services.

Disappointing.
I'll lead with the good: the pool is well appointed and the poolside food/bar menu was very good. The location is ideal especially if you are traveling from out of town.

The room was shockingly below average. We stayed in a "Luxury 2 queen with balcony" and the only thing luxurious about it was the price. Why advertise a balcony as an amenity if there is no seating on it? Lacked basics such as an ice bucket, no mini fridge but there were 2 warm bottles of water in the room for a price tag of $5 each.
Now this is out of the hotel's control to some degree, but we booked as a staycation for use of the pool. We made reservations in advance and this was honored, however was not expecting it to be overrun by children who cleared the pool with incessant bad behavior. I wish that the pool was an adults only experience or expectations could be set and enforced by the hotel on how any kids and their entitled parents should conduct themselves in consideration of other guests
Would have rated 3 stars, however upon check out the professionalism of the lady at the front desk was seriously lacking. Asked for my email address to send the folio, but as I began to give it to her, she cut me off rudely as she wasn't ready for it yet. Then, although my name was on my reservation and presumably in front of her, she could not spell it correctly within my email address resulting in me having to waste my time calling the hotel later to chase it down. A minor inconvenience, however a blight on an already over-priced and disappointing experience.
I would not stay at this property again, however options (I believe) exist to reserve the pool for private events. This is a service I would consider in the future.

Absolutely terrible service, we booked 3 rooms for a bachelorette 3 months in advance and called to confirm our pool time multiple times. They kept calling to say our pool reso was cancelled? Even though we had NEVER cancelled it. They called to confirm the day before staying there, we get there and try to go to the pool and they tell us our reservation was cancelled by they don’t know who, and they don’t have a table for us. Even though there is 6 empty tables in the pool. 12 girls in bathing suits not impressed standing in the hallway. Would not have stayed here if it wasn’t for the pool would have gone somewhere much nicer.

This place is unfortunately garbage. We paid for a room, bought 3 bottled at the pool. We were the ONLY table here and they still kicked us out at the 2hr mark, even though the manager told us we could stay longer. I’ve never left a bad review in my life, but the horrible service here has made me do this. I work in the service industry and understand customer service. This place does not care about your business, don’t stay here.

A comfortable stay and lots of fun for a bachelorette party!

Book your pool time well ahead of your stay! I was a little late in doing this and was very pleased with how accommodating the customer service was in helping me organize times that worked for my group.

One thing I will say is that I think the hotel should make the effort to reach out to their customers who booked an all-inclusive package to book pool time in advance. All-inclusive implies access to everything, so I think the hotel should make this more clear and actually be proactive in booking these guests for their pool time each day of their stay.

My friend's and I got a room for the day so we could stay at the pool and They made us leave after two hours EVEN THOUGH IT WASN'T BUSY. I've worked in the service Industry for 9 years. If you're at half capacity let the people that are ordering drinks and wanted to order food to stay at your lounge and brings your sales up. The two hour limit is to help facilitate high traffic times. The server was amazing, very unimpressed with the management and will not recommend.

I had the pleasure of working with Kimberly, Jim and the rest of the events team for a recent wedding that we planned at Hotel Arts, and I can't say enough about our experience at the venue. During the initial planning stages to the day-of execution - everything was exceptional. Kimberly was so attentive throughout the entire process - emails were always responded to in a timely manner, everything was well organized, and her level of genuine care for ensuring the couples wedding day was going to be the best day of their lives was second to none. During the set-up, we also had the pleasure of working with Jim who went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. Truly such a wonderful and caring team of individuals that are part of the events team at Hotel Arts. I'm looking forward to many more weddings at this venue, and with this team! Thank you Kimberly, Jim and the rest of the team for an outstanding service!

Beautiful hotel, lovely pool, and amazing staff! We stayed 2 nights, 3 days, and every interaction was amazing! Special shout-out to Will, and all of the F&B associates (many of which were new employees), for doing such a great job managing a busy patio and restaurant with grace, in a pandemic, during Stampede! You guys are the real MVP’s!

My only critique is that the housekeeping carts seemed to be short on supplies, as we had trouble getting coffee pods and stir sticks, when they weren’t replenished.

The staff is the best part about the hotel. They were all extremely friendly and caring.

Highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the downtown Calgary area. Nice and clean rooms!

The best place to stay in Calgary period. Service was excellent close to all the local amenities. The pool on the main floor was the bomb. Highly recommended. Excellent bar and restaurant.

A/C is pretty loud, way louder than the girls next door on a Saturday night. Pillows need to be replaced, they feel like dumpling but without the filling.

Will never stay here again. I’ll start positive by saying Ryan is fantastic and very nice and the pool looks great. I first called to talk to Ryan and he gave me a rate and was very professional and nice, I called back a bit later that night and the manager Jeff was there and refused to give me that rate saying it was wrong. I argued with him saying I literally got that rate and could have booked an HOUR before so what could have changed. I had to argue to get the same rate. Jeff was very rude. Then we get to our hotel and it’s clean but looks like nothing has been dusted, which if I’m spending almost $200 on a hotel night I would think the cleaning would be good. You have to pay for wifi if you want to watch YouTube/Netflix and you have to pay for each water bottle in your hotel room ($5 each). We stayed in the luxury king and there’s nothing luxury about it other than the price. Can’t even sit on the balcony no chairs or anything and right on top of construction. Tv is so small to watch from the bed you need bifocal lenses. No microwave. Truly for the price and what you get I wouldn’t come back. We will continue going to clique hotel.

Very much enjoyed our stay there. Took them up on the package with room, delivered to the room supper (wonderful by the way, appetizer, main course and desert, along with a bottle of wine) and an in room movie rental, popcorn, candy and soft drinks. Very nice room, great staff and service. Basically a great experience in being able to get away without being far from home! We plan on doing this again soon!

WORST and I mean the WORST customer service ever. Customer service is not in their vocabulary. They’re so pompous and they have no regard for treating a guest with respect. Even the manager on duty did absolutely nothing to fix the situation that their employee messed up on. No remorse not apologetic just a “there’s nothing we can do” attitude. If you ever value your guests there’s ALWAYS something you can do to fix the situation especially when it’s the hotels error. I will never recommend you to anyone I know and will pass the word around. If you wanna be treated poorly and disrespected then this is the place for you. Shout to Sarah the manager on duty to made my bday epic in the worst way and also to Brett the other manager who did absolutely nothing to rectify the problem on behalf of the hotel.

Whack rules for when you're a paying guest. Got "upgraded" and the room still doesn't have a fridge. 2 hour limit at the pool as a paying guest. Can't even enjoy after if you just wanna chill and not even take a table. What's the point of paying for a room?

Excellent staff, rooms and facilities were nicely maintained for the most part. Almost no vegan options for included breakfast or pool bar. Luckily, located next to restaurants and bars.

The staff were super amazing, the rooms are beautiful hence why two stars for those, but the room made my allergies go crazy and there were no pets in there before me and the gym is super disappointing as well, super small, dark, and hot

Really like this place stayed here before had zero issues, then I met the manager Tiffany who is horrible at her job didn’t offer any solutions and was super rude made me feel very disrespected.love the hotel and amenities but the manager is super horrible and racist IMO. If you are First Nations beware!

The hotel is beautiful and the pool facility was so comfortable and luxurious. However, our stay was made truly excellent thanks to the front desk staff. Throughout our stay the front desk staff went so above and beyond for us and they were so friendly and accommodating. Thank you for making our stay so memorable!

The hotel lobby is beautiful. Rooms are meh. Service was good as far as the hotel goes. But the food we had served to us at the pool was etrocious. We ordered the Flatbread, and a steak frites. The steak tasted rotten, and the Flatbread was merely pizza crust with tomato sauce on it. We had a issue with getting that taken off our bill also. I would not recommend eating there but overall the hotel was decent.

The hotel is beautiful. As soon as you walk in - it is a gorgeous lobby, with a peak into the pool area and attached restaurant/bar. The room was one of the nicest hotel rooms I had ever stayed in - deep tub, a bar area, living room area and a balcony. I never visited the restaurant or ordered room service - but be aware that there is a 17% gratuity added automatically AND a $4 delivery fee for room service. It was a cold November day, but you would have never known because of their amazing covered pool area. An inflatable type roof covered the pool and patio. We spent a little time down there having a drink, and it felt like a much needed escape. Parking was included - which is perfect for a hotel downtown HOWEVER the access to the hotel from the parking garage did not allow you to maneuver a luggage cart from the parking garage. You have to unload all of your luggage our front of the hotel - and then go move your vehicle to the parking garage.
I would have given the hotel 5 stars if it wasn’t for the parking situation mentioned above, and the fact that you can’t access the stairwells from the main floor. There were multiple times an entire airline crew was in the lobby using the elevators - and I would have liked to use the stairs to go up to my room but I had to wait in a group of people just to get up stairs.
Minor set backs, otherwise a wonderful stay!

My favourite place to runaway on a Saturday afternoon and Sunday Funday by the pool. Fantastic room service. Fabulous drinks. The pool atmosphere is wonderful. My Little Dog is always welcome and treated very well. I will always runaway to this hotel. Alone or with friends the experience has made me smile from ear to ear ️️️️

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Arts. The location is wonderful and the lobby is gorgeous. The room (which they told us was an upgrade) was basic. The shower was tiny and shampoo/soap/conditioner supplies were all low or empty. We would stay there again on a bargain.

Nice hotel in a good location in downtown Calgary. Restaurant has a good menu and the bar is well stocked. The facilities are well maintained and comfortable.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hotel Arts in January. The staff were very friendly, the pool area was quite nice, and the restaurant and room service were excellent. We did however feel that the rooms were very small and the pillows were terribly uncomfortable (one tip we would highly suggest is bringing your own pillow if possible).

I liked it here, went to the yellow door restaurant that was just off the lobby while I was there.
Room was nice, food was good at the restaurant. Plus its close to a lot of stuff so good location.

Amazing service. The Hotel was one of the best I've ever stayed at (50+ hotels a year I stay in) Though dont order the Ferrero Roche pancakes unless you actually was 3 mini cakes lol

A beautiful and unique hotel in the heart of the Calgary beltline district. The pool is super fun in the summer, especially because you can order drinks around the pool patio. Raw Bar a really exciting place to go for a cocktail in the evening.

The rooms are modern and are always exceptionally clean. Can’t go wrong with this place.

This is an excellent pet friendly hotel. My wife and I stayed here at the end of February 2020. Very fun vibe, lots of cool decor throughout the room and building. They understand customer service. We had some concerns with how house keeping cleaned our room (they didn’t throw out an empty pizza box, breakfast containers and didn’t vacuum our room. We were travelling with three dogs and hair was starting to build up, a vacuum would’ve been nice as we payed $30.00 extra per night). I talked to the front desk about this and they quickly reimbursed the extra $30.00 and the parking. Very happy! I have stayed here before and will continue to do so, next time. If they didn’t accommodate me I would’ve stayed somewhere else. So not only do they know how to create a cool hotel they know how to keep people coming back!

We had such an amazing stay here but honestly. That was because Dorian from the front could not have been more helpful for my mother and I. I forgot a few items in our vehicle and he went and grabbed them from us. We will be coming back and staying there just because of how helpful and amazing he was.

Brilliant experience. Top draw with a twist of different. Our room is beautiful and affordable. We excellent downtown location. Great staff and high security. The room has everything! Even a magnifying mirror and built in tv in the bathroom mirror.

This is such a fascinating building. I've never stayed here, but I've visited friends. The rooms are groovy. I have no comparison to other hotels downtown. However, I've thoroughly enjoyed every experience here. The staff are courteous and friendly. Please check it out sometime.

The staff were super full helpful and welcoming. The room was simple but nice.

Cons - there was food crumbs left on the floor by the previous guest. We could also hear the people next us, at some points it felt like they were in the room with us.

I stayed here for 4 nights during November-2019. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The front desk staff is friendly. Location is very good. Many cafes / restaurants and shopping places are walking distance. One negative is that they don’t give any complimentary water. I suggest buying your water from a convenience shop which just next block.
