Great little hotel ‘home away from home’ feeling. ‘Pre and post hip replacement stay’. Staff were great in anyway assistance was required.

We had a wonderful stay. Staff was very friendly and always greeted us with a warm welcome.
The beds were very comfy and the room was quiet. Staff even provided us with plates and utensils to eat our pizza.
We will definitely stay again.

It is truly a chic, sophisticated boutique hotel. Simple elegance. Our room had a large bathtub and plenty of soap, shampoo, lotions, and towels. The best feature is the comfort bed. The pillows were perfect! Our room had a fireplace, which gave it a romantic vibe.

The best toiletries I’ve encountered at a hotel (and there’s other great features as well:).

Had a very brief stay here but the whole atmosphere was wonderful.
The room we stayed in was on the corner which concerned me because of the potential for street lights to light up your room, but it wasn't a problem at all!

The shower head was at least 8 feet which was the highlight for me!

The continental breakfast was wonderful with a great amount of nutritious variety.

Stayed here 4 nights July 17-21. First of all I would like to thank the staff (front desk personnel, servers in lobby lounge, cleaners) for being so accommodating, welcoming and kind. Check in was a breeze. Was able to accommodate early check in. Also we decided to stay 4 nights instead of the original 2 and Sarah made it work. Marine (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was also very attentive to our needs. The room was very comfortable and clean. My husband had hip surgery and the staff made sure we were very comfortable. Had snacks in the lobby bar with Marie as our server. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the Oxbow restaurant.
Location is perfect. Lots of shops and restaurants at your beck and call. Next time we are in Calgary I will be sure to book in here. Thanks again for your wonderful hospitality.

Very nice, quiet hotel. Spacious rooms, clean, modern. The staff is lovely. Great value. Steps away from the Kensington road with funky shops and restaurants.

When choosing a hotel to stay at to celebrate my partner’s birthday (we are from out of town), I was debating between staying at the Fairmont or Kensington Hotel Arts.

I decided to stay at Hotel Arts because of the online reviews, it was a 4 star boutique hotel, it had a stellar location, and neither of us had stayed here before. Originally, I had forgotten to pay for early check in ($20 additional), but Sarah (front reception), was able to have a room ready for me despite me requesting early check in on the same day which was amazing. We stayed in room 102 in a King Luxury Room which is on the main floor by the lounge. The pros are stated above: the hotel is in an amazing location, the room was true to photos, the bed was comfortable though had a soft mattress and the bathroom was standard. They also have free bike rentals which we took advantage of and rode along the Bow River pathway. We did not dine at the OxBow though that is also a one-stop bonus feature of the hotel.

For a few reasons, I would not stay here again until construction finishes. Reason 1: Their patio is under construction (not indicated on website, only found out at arrival), and I woke up to cement drilling at 8 AM. Reason 2: Room 102 is right by the lounge which means you can hear every dish that is moved or set in the dirty basin. These 2 noises in conjunction made for a terrible wake up in the morning. Reason 3: When I spoke with Sarah upon check out about the noise level and how I could be compensated she mentioned that management/owner would connect with me in the same day but they have yet to do so. This was after I told her about how disruptive it was, showed audio evidence, then told there was nothing they could do about it.

We were so looking forward to staying here to try out a new hotel but this experience has not lived up to my standard expectations of a 4 star hotel both in hospitality/customer service and accommodations.

As someone who has stayed in multiple 4 star hotels (both boutique and larger chain eg. Fairmont, Ritz), I would suggest staying at Le Germain Hotel Calgary if you’re looking for a 4 star boutique hotel experience in Calgary that is consistent and reliable in both customer service, accommodations and amenities.

PS: I typically would not be deterred to stay at a hotel that had a part of it being renovated. However, this is a very small, boutique hotel which means if one part of the hotel is under construction, the noise affects the entire building. Had this been indicated on their website upon booking, I would have chosen alternate accommodations. Moreover, I am unclear as to how management allows construction to begin at 8 AM when most patrons are expected to be sleeping if they are vacationing.

Very lovely overall, food, quality, atmosphere, service. Was quiet when we went. The room has great light. Looking forward to sitting on sunny south facing patio.
