H&R Block

Today was the first time doing my taxes in Canada, Heather was so nice, patient and extremely clear through the process. We have an appointment but we couldn’t start on time, however they explained me and I had no problem waiting few minutes. As a newcomer it is a great place to go.

My family & I were a bit hesitant to come back to H&R block this year based on previous experience, however Cindy made our experience exceptionally well. She thoroughly explained things and did her best to ensure we got our returns. Only putting 5 stars because of her

I asked them 3 times what I needed to bring, brought what they asked, called a taxi, when I spoke with her she told me I did not bring what I need. Thank you for wasting 40 dollars in taxi and my time

Probably one of the worst locations I've been. I booked an appointment an ended waiting 50 mins when there was no one else here. Just save yourself the time an book somewhere earlier in the morning.

This place is a joke. Drop off services are not what they claim to be. Not to mention that they illegally shared my personal information with someone that wasn’t given the right. Completely ridiculous

These guys used to be pretty good. Now they charge $80.00 for taxes. They told me couldn't send in my taxes for 12 days. It's been 20days was still waiting on refund.

Elizabeth helped me out fantastically. Courteous, proffesional and friendly as always. The complaints on here seem quite unwarranted, and we're likely made from angry, ignorant and non patient people making their jobs harder then they are.

They lied they me stole my tax return and r now going to be under investigation for fraud and scamming people under the table

I have been getting my taxes done at this location for 18 years. Every tax return has been professional and successful. I always make an appointment to prevent waiting in front room. This year I pre-dropped off my info, to come to my appointment with Betty Proctor to have a complete return ready and I just signed. I will continue to go here because they give me piece of mind

I have been dealing with Elizabeth at this location for a long time, she is a great person to work with and knows her job very well. We have became a good friend as well a permanent client, that is the way it should be make a friend and you shall always return. Over all i am very happy with the overall service from walking in the door to leaving with my cheque in hand with a happy ending always. Thanks for the good job you all do.

It was ok, I am irritated that they give a government discount but never told me in the past. They obviously now where I work. I expected a delay this year, but the girl assigned to my file did nothing on it for 2 weeks. Which I did not know until H&R block told me. But as soon as they figured it out they got my taxes done that day.

What a complete JOKE. Paid my money for my return and now I have to do all the leg work to actually get my refund. And all H&R can say is.oh well!

I used the online option. The contacted me the next day with some questions and had my return completed that same day. Phenomenal service!

I got my tax assessment done for both 2018 and 2019 fiscal years from Elizabeth Shapka here at H&R Block on 50 Street. Since I was trying to maintain social distancing due to COVID-19, they gave me the option to upload all of my tax-related documents online, on their website. I did not have to physically see anyone to complete my tax filing! In addition to this, Elizabeth Shapka was able to retrieve my T4 form from one of my ex-employers, that I was having difficulty finding.
I was very satisfied with my experience.
I would highly recommend them if you're new to Canada or are a student (I'm both) and are not 100% certain on how to file your taxes correctly. I even got a huge discount on my filings since I'm a student.
I am most definitely coming again next year.

Wish I could give zero. This is the worst H&R I have ever been to. Don’t waste your time. Very disorganized, don’t know what they’re doing. Then lie about the reason I’m still sitting waiting for an hour and 20 minutes even though I had an appointment.

My experience was 100% the greatest ever. No mistakes and everything is shown that you want to see. And when there done wham a good Tax refund.

I have always dealt with H&R Block and this location is just as good and professional as any other location I've been too.

I found the service to be fine, but a little disorganized upon arrival. Once you’re actually being attended to, the process is seamless enough. My taxes are pretty straight forward, but I would recommend a certified accountant if you have more variables to your taxes such as financial ties to a company vehicle, child tax or EI. The staff are basically just using guided software similar to TurboTax.

Walk-in service is very slow. I strongly suggest just booking an appointment. Not enough of their very UNCOMFORTABLE chairs to accommodate costumers and each walk in takes about 45- 1 hr to get seen. There were 4 people ahead of me and my wait time was over 3 hours. I finally just asked to book for the next day and only waited 20-30 min

Absolutely horrible!
Sat there for an hour and a half while two ladies tried to figure out my taxes. Keep in mind, this is their every day job!
Initially told me I was getting 2200 back, getting everything finalized, changed something and without reason decided that I then owed 430.
Didn’t even let them finish since I had wasted enough time and they clearly had absolutely no idea what they were doing.

I went there at 2pm and was given 2 hour waiting time, 7ish I was done.so approximately 5 hours from my day.customer service wasn’t great but lady who did my taxes was great and helpful!

Elizabeth Proctor totally mommed me and reminded me that i need to pay the stupid CRA. But did help my family out and made our experience stress and anxiety free!

Very friendly and helpful staff. I had lost the prepaid Visa card they issue for a tax refund and the location I dealt with was no longer open so I went to the 50st location and they were more than happy to help me replace my lost card.
