So far so good! Downtown revitalization in Edmonton underway. Now that the pedways from Edmonton tower are open to the jw Marriott four seasons, you can walk inside from the Edmonton convention center to Roger's place indoors. If you are willing to walk, there is no shortage of parking downtown. Or just take the train.
A beautiful venue. Large with spacious corridors and well lit with much glass letting in light. Must be seen to be appreciated. Padded seats give comfortable seating. Levels accessed by elevators and escalators. Access to street and let and busses. Very nice all way round.
Went to a concert, staff was pretty cool, seating is kind of cramped, the building is designed well for the amount of people moving around didn't get into any bottlenecks getting out. I understand the reasons for no re-entry but I really wish they'd just make a smoke pit or something the not going outside for potentially hours is kind of grueling. Food and drink prices are insane ($6.50ish for a cup of water lmao) so predrink if you don't want to spend $200 for a buzz. The people working were all super helpful and friendly considering what they do all day. Only recommendation is if you buy floor tickets, and it's for seating, you're gonna be standing in a bunch of chairs cause the standing floor section is in front of you so give that a thought first. All around not bad I guess.
Was there for a convention of over 11,000 people. There was comfortable seating and roominess. Overall.a great venue. Downside is that the air conditioning made seating areas too cold. Also there was no public elevator to ice level.
There were people doing some type of drug with all their pipes and foil out in the open on the corner of Roger's Place. Nonchalantly surrounded by convention goers leaving for home. Homeless people everywhere. This is a dangerous area alone as a female or even with my husband, as a couple (man and wife) were assaulted a few weeks ago there. Not safe.
