I phoned to get a mechanic out to my car because I had a leak in my power steering hose. I explained on the phone that it was my power steering hose for sure, so they sent out a mechanic to diagnose and I was told he would fix the problem during the appointment. He took 5 minutes looked under the hood and said yep power steering hose and proceeded to tell me I don't have time to fix it, maybe sometime mid next week. They then charged me $188 for 5 minutes work for a problem that I told them was there. I'm not calling a mechanic to diagnose a problem with my vehicle that I can see, I'm calling you to fix it and not charge me insane prices to figure out something people with functioning eyes can figure out. The quote to fix the problem is $450 over double what any other shop has quoted me.

Amazing service! Ask for Ryan if you're in Edmonton. He gave me honest information, answered all my questions & was very easy to deal with. It's very convenient having a mechanic come to you nevermind saving yourself a towing charge when needed. I will continue using their service and highly recommend Ryan as my go to mechanic.

We had Grant come out to swap a flat tire for us - super fast, friendly and competent. I recommend this service for anyone out of town - great to have the mechanics come to us!

Arrived within a reasonable time for appointment. Grant was knowledgeable with Dodge product and did my inspection. I am experienced in the ways of Alberta Auto and I was totally happy with my inspection. Grant gave great advice and was a nice person. Good luck with your young family Grant. They are overpriced and make up the numbers they charge on a whim. No other mechanic or mobile mechanic in the province doesn’t know how much they charge an hour! Make it up on the spot based on what the mechanic feels in the moment is a good way for customers to get ripped off! What a sham!

Grant was my tech and he helped diagnose a bad Slave Cylinder, got the work done a few days later and my car back on the road! Excellent Technician and easy to work with company!

I don't have any problem about the services but you guys are worse in regards about cancellation of membership. Last year i called and canceled my account but didn't get a refund, i let it go and now again you charge me again the yearly membership just yesterday, I'm sick of your services.
I want my Refund.

Experience was good until they started doing payment. They have charged my account numerous times for the same amount. I cant even keep track anymore. Its either fraud or complete incompetence. Ill be calling my bank today.

I’m very pleased with the whole experience, I’m Leary of mechanics on the best of days and Ryan is a rare find, honest as the day is long!

Me and my boyfriend bought a 20 year old beater car, we needed an inspection not to mention it was making some unholy sounds after hitting the ditch. We got next day service at our apartment for the inspection from Grant who also came back 2 days later to fix what we had assumed was the axle. Not only did Grant fix the problem in a timely manner, he saved us a bit of money for the part after figuring the real problem. He was honest, professional, and timely as well as he did an amazing job getting us back on the road! We will definitely be using these services again.

I needed my car battery replaced and a diagnostic on very short notice (morning-of) and with a very tight schedule, and instamek made it easier than I ever thought possible for car repairs!

Grant in Edmonton was awesome. Quick inspection, listed everything in detailed report and gave quotes on repairs.

Online booking was very easy!
They were able to book a mechanic for the next day.

Grant was great - he called before the scheduled time and was even able to come early. He completed the inspection and explained the issue and resolution clearly. The problem ended up being a blower motor issue. Grant was able to pick up a new motor and install within the hour. I would definitely use their services again.

Since 2018, we have been regular Instamek customers for all of our car needs, as well as Prime members of Instamek services. Due to the situation we just experienced with Instamek, that has all now changed and we will not be using Instamek any longer.

After having Instamek provide maintenance on our vehicle, we had to have our car towed to a Toyota dealership and were left with a bill for $991 - due to the poor service that had been provided.

The short version (which only covers a fraction of the bad service) :

- An Instamek mechanic damaged our starter motor by hitting it multiple times with a hammer.

- Instamek staff, all the way up to the president, denied that a dented and damaged starter motor needed to be replaced.

- We had the starter motor replaced by a Toyota dealership. The dealership let us know, “whoever was working on your car clearly had no idea what they were doing. ”

- Instamek refused to pay for the replacement of our damaged starter motor. Instead, they blamed us that we did not insist that Instamek replace it.

- Instamek seems to feel that it is okay to return a car to their customers in worse condition.

- Instamek seems to feel that a dented starter motor, considered damaged and unreliable by other mechanics, is no problem.

-Instamek seems to think it’s okay to send customers on the road
with components damaged by Instamek staff.

As we tried to deal with this situation with Instamek, all of the staff we spoke to, right up to the president of the company, denied their responsibility, blamed us as the customer, and did not attempt to empathize, understand, or work with us towards a resolution. We didn’t even receive an apology until the very end, when we informed the president that we hadn’t received one in the whole encounter.

There are so many things that were done wrong in this situation. Instamek demonstrated incompetence in dealing with our car and disinterest in doing right by their customer, whose car
they had damaged. We gave Instamkek the opportunity to make this right, and they chose not to.

We will absolutely not be dealing with Instamek any longer.

Since this is a negative review, I am expecting a defensive comment from Instamek to follow as that seems to be their approach to customer dissatisfaction.

I’ve been a prime member with instamek for about a year now. They’ve always been wonderful and it’s definitely worth having for maintenance and repairs here and there! We had Ryan fix our car today, as we bought a used car that was in a bit of rough shape. He got it back sounding like new again and was very informative about the parts used and what we’ll most likely need done in the future. Now we feel safe to driving our car with our baby girl ️ Thanks Ryan!

Hired them for a front strut replacement and to pop a CV axle back into the transmission.

Grant showed up and crushed it out in under 2hrs. Great job. Will call again.

The Instamek “Ryan” was awesome. He is very knowledgeable and professional mechanic. He found the problem with my car as soon as, he started his inspection. Highly recommended. Expecting the same service in the future.

I was purchasing a 15 year old car and needed an inspection. Instamek was able to fit me in the next day, which was super helpful. The mechanic, Grant, was friendly and knowledgeable - he explained everything he was doing as he did the inspection, and took time to look at any concerns I had. He went above and beyond too by showing me how to change the cabin filter in the car. Overall the service was excellent and I was really impressed with Grant! Definitely would recommend instamek and will use them again in the future.

Just wanted to say, InstaMek is phenomenal. I own a Tesla Model S. I phoned about 12 different shops in the Edmonton area and not one wanted to work on it. I thought I’d give InstaMek a shout as well and Grant ended up taking the job. I would like to say what a gentleman he is. Professional, knowledgeable, prompt, courteous and safe!

He showed up to take a look at my Tesla, he let me know what he can and can’t do on the vehicle. Which I absolutely appreciate the honesty and transparency. He ended up replacing the aft link (control arm) on my vehicle. He definitely knows his limits and doesn’t take the risk of damaging anything that he’s not 100% familiar with. He ended up repairing my vehicle efficiently and a lot cheaper than Tesla Edmonton. Keep up the great work!

After the winter two of our vehicles needed some attention before they were road ready. Unfortunately that meant we couldn’t take them from our house. Called instamek and Grant was able to come over and tell us what we needed and was able to fix everything up quickly and professionally. Rob was amazing. He did a pre-purchase inspection for me ; me in Ontario, him in Edmonton. He contacted me before he started, during, and followed up immediately after.and had the comprehensive report sent to me super quick, with photos. Would not hesitate to use these guys again and already purchased the prime membership!

I am so happy that I found a company that offers at-home auto services. I had the Mek Robert stop by and he was right on time. I appreciate the fact that I received text updates to inform me when the Mek will arrive. Robert was nice and informative. I never felt like I was rushed or inconveniencing him with concerns of my car. He listened to everything I had to say and gave me updates at the end of the service. He left and I felt re-assured and less stressed. I love how I was able to continue studying in the comfort of my home while knowing that my car was being taken care of in the garage. The next day, I received all the diagnostic/service reports which re-iterated what Robert told me the night before. Great service!

I also wanted to point out that I originally had my appointment scheduled for a Saturday but due to my concerns I called the reps at Instamek. I spoke to a lady (sadly didn't get her name) and she was wonderful! She was able to help me out and reschedule my appointment so that a Mek would come out sooner.

After my experience, I immediately told all my close friends and family. They all started checking out Instamek's website and will book the next time they need servicing! I will definitely sign up to be a prime member!

Rob came to do a pre-purchase inspection for a car I was looking at purchasing, and really went above and beyond given all of my concerns about purchasing a car for the first time. I was totally impressed with his professionalism, friendliness, explanation, and thoroughness. I had such a great experience with Instamek! All fees and technicalities were clearly laid out to me when booking. My mechanic, Rob, was so friendly to me and to my little puppy. My car didn't start at all. I thought battery was dead because power windows didn't work and the lights were kind of dim. However I was not sure. Mechanic Robert was helpful and replaced the battery. He was super kind. Even though I waited for hours, I was happy with the service. It is nice to know there is a company like instamek exists so that I can use the service just in case.

My experience with instamek to have a pre-purchase car inspection done was great! Marianne (I think) was very helpful on the phone to explain how it would work and book the inspection on short notice.

My Mek Alexey did an excellent job spotting a repair that needed to be done for my vehicle to pass a safety inspection and gave me a detailed explanation of future maintenance to expect. I was very satisfied with the services provided. While I would prefer to go to a regular mechanic, due to the short time period I had to get the inspection done and the convenience of the mobile service I believe it was worth the price and limitations.

Just used InstaMek Edmonton and Alex was extremely thorough and provided a great service. I would definitely recommend them for any of your pre-purchase inspection needs.

Tried to book an appointment to check the codes post battery replacement. They flatly refused because a professional mechanic didn't install the new battery, something I've done on my vehicle for 40 years. NOT RECOMMENDED! ! !

I had Instamek come to my driveway to give me a quote on a major repair. Very responsive and quick to come to investigate. I was provided with notification of the Technician's expected arrival, he was early! The Technician (Grant Feth) was very knowledgeable and gave great advice, an excellent representative for the company. No up selling or pushing for unnecessary repairs, creating a solid trust in the service provider.

Months later decided to use InstaMek to complete the repair. Original quote was honored and still on record. Alex performed the repairs and got me fixed up and back on the road faster than I thought possible. Cost was roughly 75% of cost form a traditional shop.

Alex from instaMek was very adept, thorough, professional & efficient doing a mobile battery install for me today. Took about 10 minutes and he even went above and beyond to check my alternator and make sure I had the proper size battery installed (I previously hadn't). All around great guy and I even learned a thing or two from him!

Grant was friendly, professional, and efficient, he did a good job going over my car for an insurance inspection report. It didn't take long at all and he went out of his way to point out concerns and details that went over my head as a new driver. I'd use instamek again without a doubt.
