My physio, Patel is an awesome, knowledgeable professional. He explains everything he is doing and tells you how it going to impact your healing process. I strongly recommend InStep Physical Therapy. And the reception is very friendly and customer service focused.

Pranjali is very knowledgeable, personable and patient. She is passionate about treating people and it shows. The front staff is very friendly and accommodating. It's hassle free for direct billing for MVA claim and stress free dealing. I got a lot of help from Jag at the gym who makes sure all the patients get information about required exercises.
They have a lot of advanced technology coupled with valuable experience that can treat a wide range of patients.

Hands down the best physiotherapy location in Edmonton!

I have been suffering from a rare foot coalition issue for 2.5 years. Before meeting with them, I visited numerous physiotherapists, but none understood my problem. My physiotherapist, Amee, diligently understood my case, and in less than a month, I am already feeling so much better.

I have started referring them to all my friends!

I have blue cross insurance "pacific"one and no body told me you dont direct bill. The staff waited untill i see a physiotherapist so she can charge me. The form i filled did say you guys direct pill blue cross.what would happen to me if i didnt have my cards. That was very rediculous.

It was very satisfying experience for me at Instep Physical Therapy. My therapist Amee did an amazing job handling my issue. She examined my problem professionally, listened to my pain and associated concern patiently and planned the recovery process in the most suitable way. This new location is very clean and well kept. It is quite a lot smaller than the last location, however. With covid still being active, it is hard to do the training in a limited space. The administrative staff is very responsive and the physio and their assistants work hard to help you.

The team at in step has sssudyed me immensely since I suffered a stroke in May 2021. I am now walking without a cane which is fabulous. And we are moving on to new goals like getting mobility back in my left hand and jogging. Go meet with Giri, he’ll be sure to help you.

I was told by the Hospital that my daughter had Functional Dystonia. Her arms, wrists and hands were folded up against her body and frozen there. She could only move her right index finger and thumb with some difficulty. In desperation, I found InStep Physical Therapy because I knew we needed to get her treatment right away rather than wait the 3 - 6 months for a referral from her doctor. She had gone from someone who had full movement to not being able to open a jar or comb her own hair. Pranjali at InStep went to work with her right away. We saw results during the first session and every session thereafter. It was amazing to watch the progress. My daughter has gone twice a week for the past 5 weeks and she can now extend her arms all the way, rotate her wrists, has minimal sensory pain and can manipulate her index and thumb on both hands and has been able to open her hands about 1 inch. I can't wait to see what the coming weeks will bring under Pranjali's care. I am extremely happy, as is my daughter whose face lights up every time she reaches a new milestone in movement. I can't thank Pranjali and the staff at InStep enough for all of their help and compassion for my daughter. Prior to going there, I felt like no one in the medical system really cared about her condition. Thank you InStep for all you have done and your commitment to making her whole again. I never make posts on any sites but I felt that this was important enough to make mention for anyone out there in a similar situation that can benefit from this post.

Instep Physical Therapy is greatly helping me. It feels like a lot of pain in the beginning, but it slowly gets better in time. It is well worth the effort you put in, with the exercises they give you to do.

I went to InStep one year ago for bell's palsy that had come on suddenly without warning paralyzingly half my face. I was scared and unsure what to do. Giri worked with me patiently for weeks, each week with his help I made a slow but complete recovery. They helped me through one of the most difficult times of my life and I am very grateful

I've been having back pain (left side) for over half year. I have tried RMT, acupuncture, other physio place (expensive and not as good as InStep), and I think here is the best, especially if you're a student because they offer good student discounts. Giri and all the other staffs are always passionate and friendly. Giri is very experienced compared to most of the other therapists that I've been to. I felt that most of them don't really know what they are doing sometimes. E.g. One time, this physio therapist (other clinic) tried to convince me I'm getting better by saying things like 'You have some improvements' but I wasn't feeling any better at that time. But Giri has showed me that he's trustworthy, that he's clear where the issue is and how to treat it. Also he taught me to be positive and not to worry too much, which could be one of the causes of your pain. This is why I want to recommend this place to you guys.

I love InStep Physical Therapy. The staff are wonderful, Pam and Janice at the front desk, Physiotherapy Assistants Kyla, Roopreet and Kudrat are fantastic. They explain what exercises you’re doing and why they’re important, as well as what they target. Everyone is so knowledgeable and encouraging. Kinesiologist Reniel is good at finding exercises and stretches to target specific muscles. My physiotherapists Pranjali and Dara are amazing and of course dear Giri greets everyone by name with a big smile. He knows all our histories and helps everyone, both clients and staff. I can’t say enough good things.

I started physio recently with Giri. He came highly recommended by a few friends. He does not disappoint! Very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. He educates you on your injury and gives you, in his words, “bumper to bumper” service!

I have RRMS, and had no idea that physiotherapy could help me. I was having trouble with my hips, legs and back, so researched neuro pt after a nurse practitioner suggested it was worth a try. In Step clinic popped up in my online search repeatedly. I started working with Muthu, and in 3 short weeks, the improvement has been marked. He is a great educator, explaining what muscles we are focusing on and why. He has provided an excellent home stretching and exercise program that I complete everyday. The clinic is lovely and welcoming - friendly staff. The facility is clean and well managed, with appointments happening on time. The ask Giri physio show has taught me about MS and neuro pt, and I plan to watch every episode. Five + stars, and a big thanks!

In Step Physiotherapy has provided excellent care over the past two months in guiding my recovery from neurological impairment secondary to vasculitis, limiting my mobility. Staff are friendly, skilled and accommodating. I particularly appreciate Giri Srinivasan and his team’s positive attitude and respect for my personal goals. Thanks to the combination of in clinic treatment, followed by at home daily exercises, my balance has improved to the point I am walking on my own indoors, and with a cane outdoors. No more wheelchairs, and my walker will soon be stored away in the closet!

Most of the staff were friendly. The physio offered was alright, but wasn't a fit for me. I found my therapist difficult to work with at times. I felt like they didn't want to work with me or listen to my needs or thoughts. A very stubborn and one solution fits all mentality. However, I would go here again as a back up to my current clinic.

I got diagnosed with Bell’s palsy two months ago, Giri and his team helped me get 90% of my facial function back! This place really helped a lot. The receptionists are also extremely kind and helpful. Thank you all so much

Instep undoubtably embodies the best of physical therapy. As a physical therapy student, I could not have asked for a better final practicum experience. Every physical therapist at Instep is extremely knowledgable and takes a very patient centred approach to the individuals problem. Giri and his team Kamal, Muthu and Pranjali have years of experience and education and continue to educate themselves in order to expand their toolbox in order to help everyone and their individual needs. Personally experienced this while being treated by Kamal while training for an upcoming marathon. Looking forward to be able to embody the same approach to care as a practicing physio!

It was a wonderful experience from Giri and team in solving my 1problems and back to to my routine.

I walked into In Step broken and bruised after 2 major falls on the ice this winter. Giri welcomed me without hesitation, even though I did not have an appointment. He has a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience and many tricks of the trade to draw on, including both western and eastern practices. He was thorough, listened intently to my concerns and miraculously fixed me up! Giri has fantastic bedside manner. He is good-natured and professional, yet he also has a sense of humour which is appreciated when dealing with pain. (Not to mention, he is easy on the eyes and a vision of good health himself which is inspiring ;) Everyone in the office is pleasant, happy and smiling. All staff know all of the patients by name. You can tell that staff are happy and treated well. The physical assistants were encouraging and supportive in helping me with my exercises. Overall, this was an excellent experience and I would recommend In Step to anyone requiring physical therapy.

Wow, I simply cannot say enough about how amazing Giri and his team of professionals are! After a work place injury Giri was able to quickly diagnose issues and tailor an recovery plan for my specific needs. Throughout the process the staff at in step would evaluate and reassess to ensure I was challenged and making progress and as a result I was back to work ahead of schedule! And side note, working with Giri I will now be making changes in exercises as a direct result of knowledge gained over the process. Thank you again!

I felt the staff did their best for the paying clients and the AHS clients don't get a fair deal.

Note for students: I'm a University of Alberta student. InStep is under the studentcare network and if you are a student - please take advantage of this! Don't wait til your aches become real problems and learn to work with your body. It's very affordable with the discounts.

I'm very happy with my experience here. My neck and shoulder have both been improving and I look forward to my stretches and exercises every day. Muthuu is very experienced and has been very informative about what I should be doing and what to expect. My quality of life has already improved and I've only just started. This place is amazing. The front desk receptionists are always kind and so helpful. The space itself is clean and they make such an effort to make it a safe space for everyone.

I see Daniel for massage therapy and he is amazing! I broke my collarbone three years ago and have done tons of work on rebuilding strength and flexibility. I still had some residual pain but had given up on it getting “normal”. But since seeing Daniel I’m starting to think it might just get there finally!

Having previously been a competitive athlete and having a lot of experience with many physio clinics, I have been very happy with Muthuu and all of the support staff at In Step. Everyone is very friendly and warm.

Muthuu has done an excellent job of explaining the root of my pain and effectively treating the root causes of my issue which has resulted in greater benefits than just eliminating my original pain.

I would highly recommend In-Step Physio. After struggling with backpain over 2 months, I approached In-Step Physio and I started getting the relief after 1 week of physiotherapy. Kamal Janakiraman is a trained Physiotherapist, who is an expert and treats you with care and compassion. All the staff at Physio, including the front office admins are very friendly and treats you with care. Special thanks to Jagvir and Pam! I recovered in 10 sessions. Also, it is a member of StudentCare network. Hence good for UofA grad students. It is very convenient to reach via public transport as well.

Both my husband and I see Tammy, the massage therapist. I highly recommend seeing Tammy, not only is she an incredible massage therapist, she’s also a wonderful person. She makes you feel very comfortable as she helps you to relax and unwind your muscles!

I am a physiotherapy student studying in Amsterdam. I contacted Instep about doing a possible 16 week internship with them. Within a couple days Giri answered my email with a resounding yes. I then travelled to Edmonton, Alberta to start my internship. At the clinic I had the opportunity to watch Giri work with patients and the care he has for each and every one of them was remarkable. From my experience, the goal of Instep was to get people back to living the lives they lived before their injury or pain. However, the clinic is clear that there is no magic power that will make you better but by exercising and changing your poor habits you can relieve yourself of your pain. The staff at the clinic are so bright and helpful and always want the best for the patients. They made my experience incredible. The environment of the clinic is also extremely welcoming and everyone there is just trying to be a more healthy version of themselves. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend going to Instep physical therapy if you need physical therapy or are looking for somewhere to intern.

Six years ago, I rolled into Instep in a wheelchair after a MVA. Over the years, I have progressed to near pre-accident level and have had numerous pain exacerbations requiring tune ups. I have had countless visits to the clinic and every member of the Instep team has contributed positively to my ongoing rehabilitation and maintenance. I feel encouraged and supported by the office managers who coordinate appointments, manage insurance submissions and documentation. The physio assistants and physiotherapists have always been professional, highly knowledgable and personable while the massage therapist has helped fine tune and relax my body. The variety of treatments offered including specialty neuromuscular rehab, yearly functional assessments and pelvic floor therapy offer ongoing possibilities for improvement in functioning. I highly recommend this clinic and it's services.

This is the second time I've needed to get Physio. The first time I saw Kamal He did a great job on my ankle. This time it's Giri. Hopefully everything will improve. Bezawit does a great job with the exercises. The staff at Instep and knowledgeable and very caring.

I have had physio at different places for different injuries but this place is amongst the absolute best! I had Kemal as my therapist and he was fantastic, he diagnosed my injury during my assessment and then worked to correct it
Each session included the use of machines like the interferential and percussive therapy but thee was also liberal hands on manipulation and stretching. Kemal was never in a hurry and always took the time to ensure I was comfortable while he worked on me. The exercises I was given to do at home were challenging but not difficult to do. They were first done in the gym at In Step under the watchful eye often and Jagvir, two excellent assistants. My injury healed quicker than scheduled and I attribute it to the excellent physio I received from the great people at In Step! The front end staff were also very helpful and accommodating, I highly recommend I Step for your physio needs!

I really appreciate Pranjali’s expertise and her determination to find out what is at the root of my issues so she can design the program I need to improve. I’ve learned all about my pelvic area and how to take better care of myself. After just a few weeks, the treatments are already making a noticeable difference. I had tried medications and daily kegels before, but these didn’t seem to help much. So thankful my friend told me about the amazing staff at In Step. Pranjali takes the time to really listen, teaches me what I need to know and includes me in finding effective solutions. I am now so hopeful I can continue my active lifestyle. Just wish I had known about this type of therapy years ago.

I am sending out a huge thank you to Giri and his staff at In-Step physio. For years I suffered body pain from not only two car accidents, but also from my daily exercise routine. I over-did the work-out and did not take care of my body afterward. I searched out many therapists to help me heal, and did not find success until Giri. Then he brought me inside the facility. I met Liam is a PT as well. Instep physio provided me a helpful stretching and adjustment. I came to In Step after a car accident where I suffered whiplash. I had a similar accident eight years ago but feel my therapy here was more thorough. I never fully recovered from my injury last time and I feel I was just another number being pushed through the system. I feel the staff at In Step are here to truly listen and help with recovery.

Amazing Physiotherapy Clinic! Kamal was amazing to my late dad (ossama handous) he suffered a stroke in 2018 and the hospital said my dad would never walk again and they gave up on him. First time meeting we had with kamal in December 2018, my dad took his first step on his first session. We only did three session but unfortunately my dad passed away January 2019 due to another stroke. I will like to thank Kamal and his team for not giving up on my dad!

I have had nothing but success at this clinic. I have referred my Dad and husband who also sing their praises. Giri and his team are excellent and very, very knowledgeable. They spend time on you and your needs and set you up with exercises that assist in your success. Hight recommend.

I went in for pelvic floor physio and it was professional, comfortable and respectful. I have significant improvements from when I first started and am happy with the results! The physiotherapists there were so kind and friendly and helped you, even if you weren't their patient. They provided exercises for me that fit with my abilities and the types of equipment I had available to me. I would strongly recommend this location if you need pelvic floor physio!

Went here as my normal physio clinic was too full to see me and was disappointed. Came in with a knee injury and was given a wrong diagnosis. The exercises given to me to do were not helpful to my knee and it seemed like they were just picking random things for me to do even though I told them they weren't working. They wanted me to come back twice a week for 3 weeks which seems like a money grab as other clinics have never asked me to come that much. Went to my normal physio a couple days later and they gave me a completely different diagnosis that was accurate. Everyone was quite nice but did not seem to fully understand what was happening. Would not recommend for any sports related injuries.

Best physiotherapy I have been to. Knowledgeable staff, excellent setup, encouraging. Life changing

I'll note I didn't have a great experience with physiotherapy here.

My back has been an issue for 20 years and when it finally decided to not function Instep helped A LOT. Giri is good at assessment and coming up with a plan for you. It doesn't happen over night and physio will only work if you also put in the time with doing the stretches and exercises given to you. I'm thankful to everyone at Instep for all the help.

I was worried about the process of recovery but instep took care of me like I was family. Their staff are some of the nicest people I've met and you will see guaranteed results. I am living a happy, pain free life because of them. They let you go at your own pace and give you well needed motivation. I recommend them 100 times over.

What a wonderful place to get well after an injury from an accident. I appreciate all of the staff from the front desk to the therapist and assistance.

It was a good experience. I only went 2 times but I found it was very hard to understand what to be doing. I also found it frustrating that there were too many appointments for the amount of therapists/assistants that are working. A lot of the time I was waiting 5 minutes or so for them to come and tell me my next stretch. It was complicated to ask questions as well. Now I am just doing the stretches at home.

I first came to Giri (Physiotherapist) in 2017 on recommendation of a friend. I had had a severe back strain. I still remember after the first session that I was in so much pain when I got home, and one simple phone call answered by Pranjali (Physiotherapist) fixed the pain. After finishing that session of appointments, I have been back pain free!
Giri also helped my daughter recover after ACL surgery. As an18 year old this was all very new to her, he was compassionate and approachable, with a little humour. He needed to wake up her muscles! What I love about this studio is that you might see one therapist, but you are actually under the care of all. (Never seen this in any other studio). If you cheat or do the exercises the wrong way there's always someone to show you the correct way, and adjust you, whether it be Bez or one of the other PT assistants or an actual PT. Would I recommend this studio? You bet! They are awesome, and they truly care about your recovery. I'm only sorry I did not find the time to write this review earlier.

I highly recommend this place for Physiotherapy and massage. Dr. Kamal (physiotherapist) and Tammy (massage therapist) made me feel better after my horrible car accident and it's really easy to get an appointment that matches my leisure time.
