Shared a delicious New Years Eve Dinner here. Highly recommend the game meat loaf. Absolutely delicious food, beautiful restaurant and the service was amazing! Can't wait to visit again, I've been craving the meat loaf ever since.

Yes, we were a hockey team. I’ll give them that. But, an hour and 40 minutes for a drink (10 of us) while others are getting food. One kid, 2 hours for chicken fingers and fries. The 18% guaranteed tip in today’s generation is not productive. Lots of standing around with the wait staff. Very unacceptable. Won’t be back.

We recently attended a rehearsal dinner at the Iron Goat, the night before the wedding. They were able to accommodate a reservation for 16 people at a large table upatairs on the second floor. There was also another large party upstairs, so we were VERY pleasantly surprised that they had several servers working the tables. All the servers were friendly and quick to provide drinks and recommendations on what to order. They were able to accommodate various allergies and/or dietary restrictions. We were with our 2 year old, and they had highchairs & booster seats available. Plus, they have a kids' menu that comes with a coloring page and Crayons (a bonus for sure!). The food was good, and the portions were large. We had the brie cheese to start, and it was fabulous! The pizzas were very yummy as well. The prices are not bad, considering the portion sizes you get. There is a small parking lot with only a few spots, but it's easy walking to the restaurant from a few hotels/villas/condos in the area. If you are staying at one of those close by residence, then I would suggest stopping in for lunch or dinner. We would go back.

Saturday we had dinner. A reservation was required. They were full. Luckily I'd made a reservation.

The space is lovely with high timbered ceilings and a beautiful view across the valley. Customers were casually dressed and enjoying themselves. The room was a little loud due to a kids hockey team upstairs. After they were done it was quieter.

We started sharing the baked brie with fig jam, and candied walnuts on focaccia. Yum!

I enjoyed the butternut squash ravioli, Very tasty.

My spouse ordered the true canadian pizza. She had most of one piece and stopped eating. Sad to say the pizza came luke warm with the crust near the sauce rather soggy. When the server came by to ask how things were, my spouse explained the problem and asked if the pizza could be reheated. Instead they provided a whole new pizza that was cooked crispier than the first. After eating half a piece she stopped eating again. The manager came by and asked how the pizza was this time. My spouse explained that it was still too soggy. In the end the manager didn't charge us for the pizza. Excellent service. Thank you for trying so hard and being so gracious.

If you like your pizza crispy all the way through, consider asking for half the sauce.

Love this place! We sat out on the patio with our friends! Food was excellent! Staff was great! Very friendly! Will definitely go again!

Came here for a wedding dinner and I really loved it here! The whole vibe of the place was really great. Service was also fantastic especially since we had a party of almost 30 people. Food came out very timely and to portions were extremely generous! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal!

Great menu and service. The staff were super friendly. Delicious meal with leftovers for lunch the next day.

Great food and atmosphere. Had the brisket and goat cheese sandwich and fries. Sandwich was awesome, fries were crispy. Surprisingly, for me, the side of gravy was the star. Odd I know, but I've never had better restaurant gravy before. Highly recommend!

We have always loved the Iron Goat, but having recently got a puppy we made a reservation as they said they are dog friendly, but what they actually have is a couple of extremely uncomfortable picnic tables off to the side of the building. Either make the patio dog friendly or put better tables there with actual chairs inside as of camp gear (or just say not dogs). We won’t be going back …which is a shame as our favourite destination until today. I could not enjoy the meal given the seating was so uncomfortable.

My wife and I went here for our wedding dinner to celebrate our elopement. This was a great experience, great food, and our waitress Jess was a good waitress.

The burger wasn't the best but the sweet potato fries and the bruchetta were the best items on the menu.

Solid dinner experience. On one hand the service was pretty slow and the food was good but nothing spectacular. On the other the building was very cool and the menu had lots of good options. Overall it balanced out to a nice dinner out.

The views are amazing and the ambience quite cool, but the food is not up to par for the prices.

First-time but not the last time. Great atmosphere, staff and food. We are coming back to Canmore in the future and this will be one of the first places we will eat again. DO NOT MISS the Duck Wings.

Honestly. Not the best food or service. Especially the food. We had duck nachos which were really not great despite loving duck. Someone ordered the stroganoff and it had pickles in it which was strange and generally tasted really peculiar. Fish and chips seemed fine/standard. Nice looking place, though! Great view from there.

The menu has a number of tasty choices.
The ribs with saskatoon berry bbq sauce were great as was the bison ravioli

We went there for a late lunch and had appetizers. They were very good. The service was excellent and friendly. We would definitely go back.

One of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. I only had two hangups the minor one was the price and the other one which almost stopped me from going was the elevation from the parking lot. It was at least 15 stairs and I just finished biking 20k so I was in no mood for more exercise. Would have given 5 stars if there was a complimentary Sherpa to help carry me up from the parking lot!

Wasn't amazing. The pasta wasn't fully cooked on my meal nor the others at our table. Our server was nice but the food was lacking

The patio has awesome views of the mountains and large drink options. The food was hit or miss on some of the dishes. Lastly if you are going to get the ribs be aware that their "Rack" and "Half Rack" are only 5 ribs each so this is not a very large portion. Not the end of the world but misleading if you are expecting the true 13 ribs per rack. Overall a good experience.

A bit pricey, but the duck wings are amazing! My main course was slightly disappointing (ravioli stroganoff), but the patio and view is beautiful!

Food was good, service was quite friendly. For the area, pricing was in-line. Lost a point for the wait time getting our food. They were nice about being busy and all, but that doesn't change that it took ages to get our food. Think they had a wedding there which they said made them busy, but that, to me, only means "we knew we had a lot of people coming, but didn't adequately prepare for it"

Walked 30 minutes from downtown Canmore with my wife and baby to try and enjoy a dinner with a nice view, only to arrive around 5pm and be told that they are no longer seating anyone on the patio due to the weather eventhough people were actively eating and drinking on the patio when we arrived and they have outside umbrellas (weather was calling for rain). Should you not leave the decision to sit outside or not to the customers? We are still actively in a pandemic and if anything they should be encouraging outdoor seating. Front staff were impolite and made absolutely no effort to try and accommodate us. I understand they were busy but this is unfortunately horrible customer service. Will never come back here again or recommend it to anyone else.

It's been awhile since we last visited Iron Goat and it was not disappointing. We visited for the weekend bunch and it was great. The food was good and the service was stellar. The views from the Patio were great.

We thought we had a reservation at 1930 for our wedding guests but the reservation was actually at 1800. When our party showed up, they were able to accommodate our large group and kept the kitchen open longer than usual to make our food. The staff were pleasant and attentive and did a great job of dealing with our unexpected large group.

Great view, great food, reasonably priced. A unique location that you should visit when you're in Canmore. Our service was a bit slow, not sure if that's typical or if they were just overwhelmed (My softball group of 12 did show up without a reservation at 11AM on a Saturday), other than that it was great. I'll be back to try again!

Make a reservation.we ate at the bar because there were two seats left, we had not thought to phone ahead. Really good food, especially the salmon and the vegetables were perfectly cooked.

Was very impressed with how well they catered at the Canmore Highland Games!

Very good customer service and the food was on point considering they had hundreds of customers to feed.

Greetings from OntarioI had the privledge to dine there last week, while visiting. Superb food.waitress was courteous and dindnt mind that we started off on patio and ended up inside by the fire place. Ambience is so beautiful with the mountains in the forefront.

I've never taste it. Wanted to order take out but they don't do take out. On their website it states you can. Some false advertisement

Absolutely fantastic - we get take-out from the Iron Goat 2-3 times per week during the couple of months that we spend in Canmore per year.

The food is always delicious and I love dealing with the staff. Some of our favourite dishes include the ravioli, salmon and game burger.

Amazing location giving you a view of the rockies and a rustic atmosphere. The food is excellent. I took the Jackfruit and Spicy pineapple noodle bowl, which was really tasteful. Very friendly staff, a nice selection of meals.

I rarely write reviews. But I came here to say that our experience last night was aaamazing.
We ordered all the appies and they did not disappoint. Look at the menu - that alone should make you want to check it out. The food was bomb, drinks were great and the service was stellar. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic views and staff. Fish and chips was pretty good but the burger was just OK. Fries were terrible. Like one of the worst that I’ve ever had. For the price they charge, I was expecting a nice and tasty meal and not a fast food level sandwich on a plate.

The patio remains one of the best places to enjoy - spectacular views. A bit disappointed though. The food was not as good as the last time I was here. The brisket sandwich was fatty and the pear and blue salad had only oil as the dressing. Hopefully this experience was an outlier and next time will be back to 100%.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Banff. We picked out this place because of the view. Our server Cam, who is also a bartender gave us great service. The food was wonderful and tasted delicious. You have to try their meatloaf!

I wish I could say something good! Yes, the view on the patio is amazing - but that is where the accolades stop. The waitress was inconvenienced, the bhudda bowl sub par, the rose was not palatable and ultimately we could not get out of there fast enough. I expected an"Earl" type experience but I actually think it way worse than that. The management has some serious work to do to make me ever go back there. Patio or not.

Service was lightning fast, staff was friendly, the food is about what you would expect from a pub (far from food poisoning, but also far from godlike) and the view was to die for.

Dinnet was underwhelming despite the beautiful view. Beer flights got mixed up and then meals were bland. I had the Cioppino pasta - noodles were all stuck together and sauce was flavourless beyond the excessive garlic (and I am a garlic lover). Rare for me not to finish a meal like this. Waiter was in training but service was ok overall.

Came with my friend for some nachos and beers with a friend to enjoy the patio, our server Amanda was fantastic and so friendly even though we could tell she was swamped with other tables. The food was also fantastic and the beers were perfect for a hot day. 10/10 would recommend!

We were told we had reservations for a certain time. Upon arrival we were told that they don’t take reservations and the wait is 3 hours. Pretty laughable for management…

Ordered a bison burger and it was totally burned out. My husband's burger was fine so I imagine I just had bad luck. Will probably give it another shot as it is a very nice building and with great views

Food was great. Service was awesome. We had the room booked as wel were a large party. Really great evening out. Would recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food, great service, really enjoyable night! We each had a different pizza and when one had a mistake in the order it was fixed immediately and removed from the bill. Had the key lime pie for dessert and DEAR HEAVENS, it was delicious! We finished it off before our server had a chance to come ask how it was. We will return!

Best restaurant in Canmore! Hands down. Iron Goat is a must visit every time we vacation to the town of Canmore. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and an unbeatable view when the patio is accessible in the summer!

Appetizers were bigger then expected. A lot of good food for the price. Ribs were very tender and the Goat Iron BBQ sauce was a nice spicy flavour. Great view of the Three Sisters mountain range. A busy place but not too noisy so a large group could easily visit while enjoying a good meal.

Had a good brunch today. Thanks for being open on New Years Day! Great views and good food. Duck confit Eggs Benedict was flavourful, the Crab and Shrimp Benny was less so. Staff was pleasant and eager to help, manager would customer check in and do cleanup help which was nice to see.

I flew in to Canmore and spent my 40th Birthday with friends whom recommended your restaurant.
My issues were more with our food. It started with sending french fries back, who can’t cook french fries? They had obviously been cooked and recooked a few times. All 3 of our steaks weren’t worth the cost and they were different cuts. Mine was almost pure fat.
To finish off my birthday dessert had a short curly hair clear to see.
We were all disappointed in this place but after mentioning the fries to the waitress we stopped sending things back. Just didn’t want the issues on my birthday.
Anyhow, we won’t return or recommend this experience to anyone. My friend who had recommended it originally will find a new “go to”.

I was referred by the IGA Sobey Liquor Store Attendence to this Beautiful Architectural designed Log Chalet Iron Goat Pub and Grill.

If you have not had the privilege yet to experience this fabulous place you need to make it a priority this year. Food is absolutely delicious, the decor is crazy good, and staff are truly over the top great. Sound like i like this place your right

This is a great resterant, the food is excellent, service is excellent, and the view of the three sisters is to die for.

Views are just stunning. You need to see it yourself. Plus, New York Steak was at the expectation level.and I have high expectations!

My wife and I enjoyed our lunch at Iron Goat. The atmosphere captured us right away. A rustic feel with a updated vibe. The patio is large with a nice view that overlooks the town. Food was good.not great and the service was spot on.

After reading all the other reviews, I wish I would have had something else. I shared nachos with my friend. There was a ton of lettuce, but virtually no cheese. I had one pint of beer and had trouble finishing it. I knew early on that something wasn't sitting well. I'm not sure if it was the beer or the food. I think it was grossly over priced for some chips and a head of lettuce. The service was great though.

I am amazed at how awful the food was here. We had heard such great things, the establishment looked really nice, and the prices indicated that we would be getting nice food. What we got was a joke. Our whole table was joking about how terrible and meager our meals were and how insanely disappointed we all were. I figured I’d try the 72 hour ribs. They were disgusting. They tasted like boiled meat and I wasn’t even able to finish them.
I assume a majority of the 5 star ratings of this place are from people who are overly polite (typical Canadians amirite? !) or people who just don’t know better. Bottom line is that this incredibly expensive food was actually worse than what you’d get at a hole in the wall burger joint. I strongly advise staying FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Not worth it. Immensely disappointed.

First time & potentially my last.the ambiance and views were spectacular, I wish I could say the same about my meal. My expectations were set high from the reviews, & the location.

A group of 4 of us went for a birthday dinner, two ladies had the meat loaf & loved it, the other got the bacon wrapped baseball steak, and I had the game burger. We then had the donuts & ganache for dessert!

My meal was underwhelming & dry- the fries were over cooked and it appeared I got the end of a bag of fries.you know all the broken small pieces. The burger was dry, and over all presentation was boring.

Dessert came and the full avalanche was a hit- but the ganache looked like a bear pooped on my plate lol

Our service was great and the managers came over but we felt bad complaining- perhaps we will give the iron goat a second chance & chalk up this experience to just a bad night in the kitchen- as they may have been slammed because of a wedding that was going on upstairs.

We partnered with the Iron Goat for a private VIP experience. Their quick and continuous communication, adaptability and willingness are traits that won them the business. From the beginning Martin and his team have put my mind at ease, giving me confidence in the event ahead.

Through their open dialogue we knew exactly what they needed from us and what to expect from them, making it easy to plan for a gourmet experience in a remote location. Upon arrival their team was professional, efficient, weren't afraid to ask questions and delivered a meal beyond expectations.

Not only did they impress myself as the organizer, but they were able to wow all of the guests with the experience they were able to produce. When the next opportunity arises, we will not hesitate to contact Iron Goat for our catering and group needs.
