Big disappointment. They have donair pics on the website and have Donair in their name but when we arrived and looked for donairs in the menu, there were none! The waitress informed us that they don’t have donairs. We were visiting Edmonton from Toronto and craving Donairs but were really disappointed. I can’t really rate the food since we didn’t order anything and just left.
My wife and I found this abosolute gem of a restuarant. We both love Mediterranean Cuisine. We have ordered here multiple times and they never disappoint.
Hidden Gem in Kensington. The aroma of smoke when I walked in was a surprise, a good surprise! They also have free Turkish tea, and of course, delicious food!
Amazing food and service, had a Ramadan iftar there yesterday, clean and neat, Turkish touch is noticeable.food was top notch, Turkish tea and Bakalva at the end were delicious bonus.parking could be a pain depending on how busy the whole business plaza is, will go again with family.
My mom, son and I visited this lovely place earlier today, the food is amazing so is the service and place, will comeback for sure. Thank you for the lovely experience.
We found this place accidently and so glad we did. It was eid so the place was busy but we had no problem getting parking outside. We orederd mix kabab platter and chicken platter. The meat for both platters was perfectly cooked and was juicy. We will definetly be back to try their amazing kababs.
First time having Turkish food, loved the Appetiser and Turkish coffee mmmm. The food was served hot and fresh cooked over a true turkish oven making the place smell so delicious. Tons of variety very welcoming. Owner was a truely involved and attentive to my experience. Cant wait for the fabulous new chef!
We are now officially regulars. We’ve been here several times and it’s been superb. Food is delicious service is wonderful we really felt valued. And of course the price is right! Just so this doesn’t sound fake I will ad a a little not so great.the seating is ok hard to get in and out but decor is nice. Thank you
I hadn't come for a while because I was not impressed with the inconsistency of the kunafa. Sometimes it was okay but other times was disappointing. I mentioned this to the beautiful, kind, server, Selda. She assured me she is going to make sure it will be good. This time it was amazing. Even better than the good times before. Everything was perfect in freshness and sweetness.
Authentic Food & are delicious Mashaa'ALLAH. Love all there items in menu. POPULARs: Lahmajun, Adana Kebab, Kunefe, bbq chicken. Very friendly and caring about. Must go there.
Staff friendly, service on time and quick. Their pida was one of the best pidas I've had in Edmonton, absolutely delicious. Their kebabs tasted great as well, however they were very thin. Compared to other kebab places Their portions are smaller for the same price. But I would still come back again, especially for their pidas!
We went there last Tuesday, it was a lovely place and polite staff, we had ordered Adana kebab that I didn't like that, but chicken and beef kebab were delicious. Also an appetizer plate had an image of the mashed salad on the menu, but they didn't served it with our order! BTW we enjoyed there
If you want to try authentic Turkish food, the attendants were very kind and welcoming. I loved the food, only suggestion is if they can work on their billing section that would be great. I would suggest they could add more pics of Turkey and some good lighting to make this an amazing place. Keep up good job.
This is an awesome place, the taste, price, and service was incredible. We were there 12 people and the order came on time and it was delicious. Definitely I go there again. Thank you Chef Sezgin. The Adana and Lahmacun oh please again. ️️️
My group and I loved the food here. The food came hot, was plated well and tasted authentic! Only points of improvement I would provide are that the rice could be spiced more and the service be improved. Our server was very pleasant but only came to give us and service food. We couldn’t get a hold of her to order food or pay for food.
First time trying this spot out and it was fantastic! We had the spinach and feta pide, mixed kebab platter, and the lamb chop platter. Everything was flavorful and fresh! The garlic sauce is amazing too and pairs so well with the meat. Definitely recommend!
Wonderful experience here. I went and ordered Chicken kebab plate. The person on the til was so friendly. Great and tasty food! I am going back here for again for sure.
We took away with us the Chicken and Lamb/Beef Mixed Kebab dishes and they were absolutely, positively delicious. The hummus and garlic sauce were just right, the charcoal-grilled meat having that perfect taste of charcoal grill and tender, and the oven-baked bread is nothing short of superb. Really surprised at how good everything tasted and the prices are so reasonable too!
This little gem is wonderful. The staff was refreshingly polite and very helpful to me, a first time customer with fantastic recommendations of dishes. Even the music choice was a classy and mood setting relaxed jazz. This place is a must try! If you're in the mood for something a little different and foreign go here! Its just too bad that its tucked away and easy to pass by. And to think, I was going to subway lol.
Absolutely the best kebab in town. Definitely give this place a try. The meals are generous and filling, the flavours are FRESH and authentic. Definitely worth a trip from Leduc to eat here.
Istanbul resstaurant is definitely a hidden gem here in Edmonton. Staff is friendly and service is within appropriate timeframe. You will feel special at this restaurant.
I was really curious about the donair wrap and I am so glad I tried it. It's totally different from the usual donairs (which I love), and really tasty. The wrap was made fresh and had an incredibly soft, pillowly texture. The meat and toppings were nice and savoury and, again, very different from your usual donairs. I honestly don't even know how to describe it. Try it!
I ' am very disappointed I bought kenefa and it is very strange not delicious at all, no cheese inside the kenefa you can not eat it. I throw it into the garbage.this is the first time I bought something from this restaurant and this is my last time I bought kenefa before and it so delicious from best kebab it is best restaurant
After the Simit house closed on whyte Ave, I'm desperately looking for a similar Turkish restaurant and I think I just find the perfect replacement. Istanbul kebab makes the perfect Mediterranean food that just right for my tummy. Portions are great, taste is fabulous. Highly recommend.
One of the few Turkish restaurants in Edmonton. Quite nice in terms of the restaurant layout. I like the seats and decor as a Turk myself; all great Turkish style. I would honestly say a solid 3.5 stars for this place. I had their Adana Kebab, which is one of my favourite Turkish dishes. The portion of the plate is large, or at least it seems so because there’s a huge abundance of rice. The hummus and garlic sauce are very tasty and have a perfect, smooth consistency. The salad is dry though. It has no dressing or anything. I’m used to eating kebab dishes with charcoal grilled tomatoes and peppers as well, which I’ve had from other kebab restaurants in the city. That wasn’t on this plate. While the rice wasn’t all that tasty, my main issue was with the kebab itself. I’m not sure if it was how it was cooked or prepared but the meat was very chewy, almost like elastic. In other kebab places, I could simply sink the side of my fork in and it would split without any effort. I actually had to use a knife to cut this into smaller pieces and the consistency was very chewy, unlike any kebab I’ve ever had. The service was alright, but it wasn’t anything special or worth noting. Compared to “Best Kebab”, a very popular Turkish kebab restaurant close to this one, has fantastic service that hasn’t been matched at another yet, in my opinion. The kebab there is much more tastier with a fuller plate and better presentation. I originally came for a chicken donair plate, but they didn’t have it, which was a bit disappointing.
Fantastic food and personnel. I’ve been searching for the best “Lahmajun” in Canada (Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal) and could not get what I was looking for. Almost for 12 years, many-many restaurants.
Finally I have found the taste I was looking for long time in this place, which reminds me back home Azerbaijan, where you get the most delicious and organic food in the world I would say.
Highly recommend this place, especially Lahmajun. Order two and spicy. You will love it!
Not a good experience. Went for lunch and was the only person there. Ordered chicken donair which is extremely dry and reheated not actually chicken shawarma. The portion was super disappointing considering dinner menu prices and most other Turkish places in the city are far better portion to price ratio (Best Kebab or Turkez). But the bad part was after eating there I had food poisoning. The salad/tomato’s seemed off. Won’t be going there again. Much better options available in YEG.
Very bad place, food was too cold and not done. People work there take wrong orders, i don’t understand stand why they write down what the customer wants and they rely on their memory and make different food. Not a recommended place for its price, so expensive for nothing
Amazing service and really nice people who really went the extra mile to give us an authentic experience. The food was incredible too with generous portions. I highly recommend this place.
This is by far the best Turkish food in the whole city, the service is always so wonderful and the owner is a fantastic guy! It's never too packed and the food always comes fresh grilled or baked. The coffee is also to die for. Nothing will ever compare:)
Beside the good food I would like to appreciate Deva for his warming welcome. He made my day with his smile. Thank you so much Deva keep up that smile! The store manager should be proud of you for keeping his customers happy.
I have been in Edmonton since 5 years, I have been test many different restaurants who does the same foods. Safir is my best experience ever about Turkish and Mediterranean cousin.now those days it’s so hard finding places like this, who use charcoal while cooking the kebabs.which makes the meet smell and taste way better.atmosphere in the restaurant quite decent. Chef Zaza, always welcomes people with his amazing smiles and hugs. And he try to make every single customer happy and satisfied.this is the best place entire Edmonton having great food with great price and hospitality.
Ordered a kebab & 2 donairs as well as lahmacun, specifically asked them for no tomatoes on one of the donairs & they didnt do that. Wait time was supposed to be “10-15 minutes” but it took 40 minutes. They were okay about it but they didnt even get my order right. The food was not horrible.but ive had much better so i will not be coming again. There were no sauces available, which i also asked for, but didnt get that either. Donair was very dry. The kebab was dry as well and kind of bland, lahmacun was very thick but tasted ok i guess. Just dissapointing to see all these amazing reviews & not have a good experience myself.
