Love this place have been coming here for a year. Same with the ones in Edmonton. We do a lot of shopping here and drink a lot of coffee and eat lots of desserts. All I wanted in my cappuccino was a heavy cream as opposed to whole milk they continually say they have none, although the bakery uses whipping cream on a daily basis Give me a break even expect to pay for the upgrade and they can’t make it happen.
My favourite bakery in St. Albert - Delicious Italian Tiramisu and Italian Expresso Also try the Velvet cake … high quality ingredients and everything there is always well made!
It's a beautiful store with lots of unique items and foods. There's also a charming little bakery/coffee shop attached to it. I just wish there was a few more places to sit and enjoy a hot beverage.
Italian Bakery's Mercato is an unbelievable marketplace for your Italian goods needs. They have fresh meats and cheeses. And they also have an adjoining cafe with the most incredible pastries. This is such a great newer addition to North St. Albert.
My husband brought home a coconut cream pie from here tonight and what a disappointment. It was awful. The Whipping cream on top was dried out and had the texture of foam. I'm guessing it had been in the fridge for multiple days. If the texture wasn't bad enough, the Whipping cream also tasted like it had been in the fridge for many days. The crust was somehow stale but also soggy. Won't be buying from here again.
We drive 35 minutes, passing other Italian cafes (including one 5 minutes from our house) to enjoy the sandwiches and sweet treats here. I have tried many of the cakes now, and they've all been delicious. The Brie, Turkey & Cranberry sandwich is a fan favourite. 10/10 would recommend.
Absolutely love this place! The best baked goods I have had in 20 years. Worth making a detour for. Also very nice customer service. Will definitely be seeing much more of us.
I ordered a box of date squares, but when I got home and opened the box, the boy had given me butter tart squares. He also used his teeth to rip the tape for the box. The girls at the coffee counter are usually talking trash about people the last 2 times I’ve been there. Some training is required for these counter workers.
I am not recommended, really dirty inside in cafe, look like they didn’t clean 3 days, they made latte but even couldn’t drink how was disgusting, staff on front desk were not polite at all.
- Service: below average. Ordered food and it was never prepared? Sat 10-15 minutes before asking if it was being made. - Food quality: below average. Garden salad with Mayo? - Cleanliness: below average. Tables not cleaned. Ordered a drink in a can and the top was dirty, asked for a napkin to wipe it down and then received another can with the top dirty? Perplexed.
Really great bakery with lots of variety and some hard to find cooking ingredients. They have a nice little cafe and tables outside for some gelato and fresh air. All the bakery selections I've tried have been really good, and they have tasty frozen pasta dishes that are good to heat and serve.
Is a little on the expensive side (it's a high end bakery in St. Albert) and is oftentimes so busy that it's hard to move around and get what you need. There can be a wait at the tills because they don't always have enough cashiers working at any given time.
Cannoli are very good. Do not recommend the tiramasu cake! Yuke! Previously frozen, soggy, no flavor. Brought this to a client as a thank you.so embarrassing! We threw it out.
