Stopped in for the 1st time as I drove Hiway 16A. Was impressed with the price listed, but tried the Jacks special burger. Have yo say UT was excellent! Stooped again the next day, ordered 2!
Had a really good meal, with a great butter rum milkshake. There was a new person training - she did great and the team seemed eager to keep things moving despite being extremely busy. Good job team!
Just came from there, ordered a milk shake and cost 9.23 wow. By heir prices are nuts. Used to be reasonalble, slow at the drive in.would not go there again prices are insane. Why do you need to charge 9.23 for a milk shake
Corn fritters were great. Burgers were also very good. The flavor burst (crazy cones) were excellent. Lots of selections for ice cream. 50s atmosphere inside. A little tricky to get in and out of parking lot.
Food is fantastic (highly recommend the veggie burger) and the staff are lovely. My dad loved it and said it reminded him of his childhood; it was really sweet see him enjoying the nostalgia of the place.
This place is WAY over rated. The food is so bad. Will not likely be going back again. Cool Volkswagen Van though!
UPDATE: My burger was flavourless, really dry. Tastes like a discount burger from a value bag. Onion rings way over cooked, basically burned in the deep fryer. Fries weren’t that great either, maybe start making home made fresh cut fries?
Wow! My gf told me we had to stop in as this was a place she grew up with. And Im so appy we did. Local food done right. Was greeted by a lovely women who was excited to give me history on the place. Was told this would be the best wrap i ever had and she was 100% correct! Thank you Jacks! Ill be back
My third time at Jack's and oh my what a disappointment. Hard day long day working want to pick something up something comforting in food. I got a ham and cheese melt the ham was so thinly sliced I could see through it, one piece that's it, one piece of perhaps kraft processed cheese. Do not call it a melt if there's nothing melting. I make a simple grilled cheese and I put at least two pieces of processed cheese or chunk cheese which I was thinking I was hopefully getting. Was not even worth the tax. Absolutely disappointing I would say that that was the worst food I've ever paid for.
Just not the same anymore. I come back home a few times a year and I always head to Jack’s for those amazing burgers. Last few times I’ve gone, the burgers have not been good. Poor quality. Almost as if they are trying to save money. Quality has gone way down hill over the past 13 years of new ownership. Sad but true. Unfortunately I’ll have to now go to Harvey’s where I can load my burger up. Sorry Jacks, I really hope you guys come around again.
It's a staple to visit in Alberta, Jack's has been around since the 1950s and my parents used to go out to Spruce Grove just for a Jack's burger, its cute and the food is good.
Tried Jack's for dinner once years ago and was disappointed. Been driving past it for the last five years, and figured had to give it another shot as the place is always packed. I have no idea how this place has return customers. We won't be back. It's expensive at $33 for my wife and I to have a burger, side and shake. We were the only customers in the store when we arrived, yet waited 24 minutes for our meal to be ready. What did we get? A thin, dry, lifeless hamburger patty, cold saltless fries, and a sugary fake milkshake and we couldn't even finish our smalls. The corn fritters and the Mozarella sticks were the only things worthy of a single star.
Horrible service by AJ! She decided to pick an argument instead of answering a question. Ps do not ever buy the Pint, the picture to follow, shows you would be better of buying an ice cream cone from a credible source
Jack's is kinda hit and miss. Sometimes you get the juiciest sloppiest and best mushroom burger and then sometimes you get a dry bun with hardly any mushroom. It really is a dice roll.
That being said the fries and ice cream are ALWAYS good and a bad Jack's "mush and fries" is still better than most places on a good day.
Horrible service even for a drive thru. If there are child labor laws Jacks must ignore them because the girl at the till was about 12. Used to be a great place but now not worth the wait and the poor service.
Food and beverages were amazing but the prices are a little steep on some of the items! Like $12 for a Lg real fruit milkshake, that is extremely expensive and the size is too big. It would be nice if you you had the standards sizes like the majority of other establishments do S, M, Lg and XL. Not S then jumping to Lg and XL. Also $4 or $5 for a small milkshake is expensive, especially for the size of your small. Your small is like the size of an XS. It's kinda upsetting when you get 4 items and the price is OVER $30! In my opinion it should not cost 2 people that much to eat fast food. You can go to a sit down restaurant get a good amount of food and drink for $30 or less. I hope that size and price adjustments will be considered and made to your menu so everyone can afford to eat at you establishment and enjoy your food. Thank you for listening.
Always good soft ice cream, vanilla dipped in chocolate and peanut. Corn fritter are great, can buy take home frozen corn fritters. Mushrooms burgers are great and lots of fries a must to check out great service. Nice old style 50's type drive inn.
Very busy place. Lots of vintage vehicles coming through. Service took a bit of time to receive your order. However it is understandable due to the number of customers that frequent this establishment. I will definitely return.
To those who have never been to Jack's are MISSING OUT, The menu is like that of a 1950's Era, Thick creamy Milkshakes, Cheese burgers are Tasty, fries hot & crispy, they have Milkshakes of flavors I never tasted till I went to Jack's. When ordering your burgers, just say the word "Deluxe" with it and they will ask if you want fries, Onion rings or Poutine with it and what beverage. And REMEMBER, When you see a lineup outside of Jack's.the food is worth the wait!
Never been before, but my Hubbie had years ago. We waited in a long queue of cars, and it was so worth it. The hot fudge sundae was amazing and my hubby loved the burger. I highly recommend.
The icecream is so thick and creamy and delicious! You will not have tasted anything like this.even premium brands cannot compare! I always have a hot fudge sundae and my husband has a strawberry sundae.amazing!
Very quick and friendly service. Food quality was also pretty good, although quite expensive and messy/hard to keep everything together in a vehicle. Would repeat though - love to shop local.
I've been going to Jack's Drive-in for as long as i can remember. They have the Best soft serve ice cream, way better than Dairy Queen! Plus the cones are huge. You defiantly get your money's worth. The Mushroom burger is amazingly good also. This little restraunt doesn't look like much from the outside could easily be passed by the unknowing person but once you try their ice cream and food you will have a hard time not stopping in every time your in the area.
Tried to order, we were at the front of the line and no one even greeted us. Instead the women at the counter focused on putting in what I can only assume was an online skipthedishes order or something similar. That’s customer service for you apparently. I left my home to come to your establishment and instead of at least acknowledging my presence you focused on someone that wasn’t there. Terrible service.
Simply amazing. Every time I am in the area, I will go out of my way to go to Jack's. The best milkshake that you will ever have! Amazing food, great service, great location! Very clean, with a great atmosphere. Highly recommended!
A great local diner in Spruce Grove! My girlfriend introduced me to this place and we keep coming here everytime I visit. Their food is great Their poutine is amazing and their hot dogs and deep fried pickles. Will definitely try more things on their menu in the future.
Went there tionight, first time got a mushroom burger mushrooms were raw sause was cold. Milkshake had no flavor, heard this place was great, maybe a while back but looks to.have gone into toolet heaven.
Had good memories of better burgers from this place. Ordered the Jacks Special, and like other ppl said, patties are cheap frozen kind, and on top of that, they were not cooked enough. Just warmed up, not grilled. Fries and onion rings could be more crispy, maybe longer cooking time as well? Feels like the (friendly) staff are rushing a bit. I'm not sure about wanting to come back! Come on, Jacks! You wanna keep your icon status? You can do better.
The food seems a little expensive so it’s a treat we enjoy occasionally. The service is a bit slow but as I understand everything is made to order and fresh.
Was excited to try a drive in that’s not even really a drive in at all. Cute little place. Food was good, service was friendly but unorganized. Waited almost an hour for our food. When we walked in there was a couple ppl waiting as well. They either gave our order to them or forget completely. I was watching as people came in and lined up at the door. By 30 mins in I had to check where our food was. I got what didn’t you get, I hadn’t received any of it. Had to wait for them to remake it. Plus she lied to my face and said she yelled out that order and no one claimed it. Nope. It was really painful watching them struggle to find out what is who’s, bringing out one thing at a time to customers. Mistakes happen but they need to find a way to organize themselves. By the end of it way to many people in there. Very uncomfortable. Makes me wonder how much free food the give out in a day.
Just had the mozza-burger with fries and gravy and I'm happy. If you're in Spruce Grove then hit this place up for some good eats. I had a basic sized mean and I feel like I just had a huge turkey dinner. I will come back with my family soon. Thanks Jack's!
Great experience at Jack's! We got a groupon and got 2 burgers, veggie ones, and fries with a soda. The young man working the window was very friendly and speedy. Would for sure go back. Thanks Jack's.
Neat old fashioned spot. Food is your typical greasy food. My chocolate milkshake was made with vanilla ice cream and syrup fyi, so if you want a good chocolate shake.don't go here.
Funny. A group discussion broke out amoung strangers. How Jack's is better than Peter's. I thought I would impress the group thst I drove 30 mins for a burger. Elderly man topped me, he drove from Saskatoon. Then I found out that he worked with my dad and had a cabin at our lake. Great people all have good taste!
Usually a huge fan, however really unimpressed with the staff, I'm always pleasant, as I work in customer service. The girl working the window was incredibly rude after I kindly repeated my order twice. Got our order wrong and a second staff member was exceptionally rude when I let her know more than friendly that it was incorrect. Maybe the issue is they can't hear through their intercom? Not my problem won't be going back for a while.
Jacks is top notch. Order off skip the dish when I was working nd it was there in 15-20 minutes.
The food was fricking awesome and cheap. Got loaded perogies with saurkraut and bacon and the jacks burger. The sauce for it is beautiful. Will drive out fron Edmonton with the gal to try it again.
We ordered a peanut butter Jack frost and unfortunately they didnt clean the machines between or mix it properly so it was about half vanilla that the peanutbutter wasnt mixed in, the peanut butter and then coffee syrup at the bottom. Everything else in the order was good. This is the only time we have had something like this happen, but it's still disappointing
Upon leaving the rec center in the grove. Two boys saw the little burger shop. Looks little. Burgers are big. Great mushroom burgers.boys had the cheese burger and special burger. Very tasty and quick service. Will be back
