Jade Stone Ltd. Calgary

We renovated a few years ago and used Jadestone as the countertop contractor as suggested by our general contractor. I believe they were the cheapest price.

However, we had an insurance job this year which required the countertop and waterfall side to be removed and reinstalled. The company who did the reinstall (the Granite Guys) made the edges look better than Jadestone's original install. Plus our sink had what appears to be glue from the original install that the re-install contractor cleaned up. We just assumed those white marks on the sink had to be there.

Our interior designer warned us about using Jadestone and insisted she be here during the install to monitor them.

From my uneducated view, comparing two companies, it appears Jadestone does sloppy work as it I assume it shouldn't be possible that a reinstall looks better then the original with the same materials. Particularly when you're cutting a waterfall edge. However, I note I am not an expert on countertops and the above is my personal view on what looks better.

Jade Stone was available and willing to replace a sink that had cracked. They were quick to reply and were able to do within a week (faster than other guys). Price was reasonable and fair for removal and install of sink. (I needed a plumber to re-connect drain).

I think their office can do with some updating though because scheduling and payment is manual I think.
I could only pay by credit card over the phone, or fill out a pdf and send back. Neither of which I feel is secure.

But also they had an appointment booked. I rescheduled. They confirmed reschedule. But I still got a call and someone showed up on the original incorrect day.

At the end of the day, not really that much of an inconvenience for me, but they can probably be more efficient day to day if they invest into something. Happy with the product and service.

Driver nearly wiped my wife, dog and myself off the highway on the way into Calgary. Anyone who drives that stupid and with that much emotion (no idea what the problem was) can't be reasonable to work with. Not really much I can do about it other than perhaps try to share this info and you decide what you do with it. License plate JADE022 or something like that. Be cautious.

Horrendous company to deal with. Installed damaged quartz, neglected to drill for sink mounts in the replacement quartz, failed to seal sinks properly, damaged door casing and sink drain and attempted to blame the contractor for their poor measurements (the size of the cabinet somehow changed when installed, which is why their quartz was too long.the drawings were on site and sent to Jade Stone prior to install & the cabinet met these specs when installed). Communication was extremely poor, giving <30min notice that they would be on site. Contractor ended up finishing install of the countertop and Jade Stone has been advised they are not welcome back on site. DOING WORK IN THE OKANAGAN - AVOID!

Shotty install by your sub, not taking responsibility for poor workmanship and unprofessional on the phone. Not willing to have a look at mistake in person shows weak character, not to worry the GC and myself will not call you back for any future projects. Another company took the time to see your NOT to industry standards install and fixed the seam to industry standards. That is what a person gets when a job is subbed out a 3rd time out to do a job. Do a good job, it's not hard.

So extremely impressed with the installers, they showed up when they said they would, very polite and extremely efficient!
