Jane Bond BBQ

Had the pulled pork it was amazing. The smell when you walk in takes you instantly to world champion BBQ contest at Tom Lee Park in Memphis in May. Great vibe with beads strewn about like a great trip to New Orleans. Couple years later still just amazing must try.

Glorified fast food restaurant. Order at a screen, pick up your own food, fill your own drink, but get prompted for a tip.

I have been to a lot of BBQs in the Southern States, and I can say this is as good. If you want melt in your mouth, Brisket, this is your place

The atmosphere is self serve order on a kiosk and mostly everything else is self serve…. Takes away from the “going out” feel for sure.
The food came out within five minutes of ordering, and was dry, old, tasteless and everything tasted the same…. Terrible!

Was quite expensive for an essentially fast food joint…. Had such high hopes for a barbecue restaurant in Alberta…. Sadly disappointed!

Was in yesterday for lunch, I loved everything about this place, the staff were welcoming, helpful & nice.

I was excited to try this bbq spot, but when we went (on a week day) our visit was disappointing. Our food was very dry or not cooked properly.
- The mac and cheese was liquidy inside, which i suppose they freeze and then reheat it up and then add the cheese? We also had HARD ROCK pieces of macaroni inside. (SEE PICS)
- The cornbread was very dry or not fresh.
- Brisket alone was good.
The atmosphere was like a high version of Mardi Grass and its basically self served once you order your food.

We booked Jane Bond for last minute catering for a celebration and I am so happy we did! The customer service was amazing (shoutout to Adrienne!) and the food was 10/10. I would definitely recommend! Thank you for making our event so great!

I've used Jane Bond BBQ for catering at a couple of our staff events (around 35 people). Our team has loved the delicious selection of items they have on offer. I worked with Adrienne Keith, the co-owner, both times and her and her team have really looked after us to ensure we received top notch food and service for our events. I will definitely be happy to use their catering services again in the future. I can also attest that the food served in the restaurant is just as tasty as our catering. A great place to check out if you love good BBQ!

We recently had Jane Bond cater a work function for us and the experience was fantastic. The food showed up almost to the minute of when we asked and everyone on the team was very happy with the quality and portions. I would recommend them for anyone feeding a large group.

Excellent experience went for a birthday party, and all the cocktails, drinks, and food, especially the cornbread, was well made and well seasoned. The honey mustard sauce is greatI could put it on anything and even eat it out of a jar if I could. Great place for a chill good time! My new favorite smoke house in calgary.

Had never tried Jane Bond before but I'll definitely be back as I've now found my go to BBQ joint in Calgary! My wife and I had the platter and it was a delicious and generous spread of food. We choose beans and slaw as our sides and their sauces were all amazing. Can't wait to try again!

First time here the staff very friendly and inviting and the food was amazing i had the brisket po boy so tender and amazing and the sauce omg I had to buy my 9wn bottle to take home which was a nice touch also very very fair priced I was very impressed and will be a regular customer from now

I should add that Jane Bond's has amazing food, quality and service. Also, if you're in need of entertainment during your meal, I recommend Jane's spicy responses to stupid 1 star reviews from ex-employees and mama's boys.

Thank you for giving me the best bbq I've had in 10 years. The quality of the meats were fantastic the rub on the ribs was so good.

Mac & cheese was great quality and the cornbread just needed some extra butter on top.

Only thing that wasn't to my taste was the two choices of bbq sauce and I prefer a more traditional bbq sauce vs what was available.

Seating was nice for large people.

Highly recommend for very good bbq.

I love Barbaque. Jane Bond has filled a void here in Calgary. The brisket is fantastic. The Po' boy is great for lunches. If you are are wanting to feed the family get their platters. Highly recommend eating here or ordering for take out. Oh and try the ribs. The meat falls off the bone and succulent and savory. Definitely Keto and Paleo friendly.

I had the brisket lunch combo to go. It's was still hot and moist when I sat down to eat (typically when I've ordered takeout BBQ it got really dry by the time I ate). I've only had a few but this was definitely the tastiest! Love the sparkling tea as well!

Good food with some oddities! Space is way too small for busy times.

Wandered in here just before supper on a Saturday and boy does this place get busy! We were the first group told to sit on the patio as there was no room inside and then suddenly, the patio was full too! Happened to be a table free up as our food was ready so we were able to eat inside.

Ordered a couple individual plates for my partner and I. It's a shame that they advertise their gluten friendly items but refuse to substitute their gluten filled cornbread for anything despite it being on every platter. Ended up ordering a second side for my partner (celiac) and took their cornbread home for a snack for myself.

Food took 30 minutes from order to table but the staff gave us a heads up on the delays which were spot on.

The meats and coleslaw were very good. Meat was perfectly cooked and delicious. Sauces provided offered a good variety while all being delicious. That being said, what on earth or those beans? ! There is no reason baked beans need to be 8/10 spicy. Zero warning from the staff about this despite establishing that we'd never been here before. I was only able to eat half a serving before it being too much (and I usually like spicy foods).

Oh and the house made "iced tea" was quite good but for sure wasn't iced tea. I'd suggest getting one but don't be expecting anything close to traditional iced tea (Canadian or American). Be warned it is carbonated.

Had the 1/2 pound and a corn muffin. Super stuffed and very delicious. Thanks Team Jane!

Not the best.unfortunately I used to love this place, I got the brisket cheese bread and pulled pork poutine but now both have changed on the menu, there's barely any pulled pork on the poutine and the cheese bread has been removed only good thing I have to say is the pulled pork is delicious. But it's just not worth the price anymore, and has lost alot of its delicious dishes
Not sure if I'll order again.

If you're looking to eat meat this is the place for you. Just read all the other glowing reviews, or take the testament of my family who is incredibly stuffed and satisfied. BUT WHAT I DIDNT EXPECT was the phenomenal vegan selections. I am gluten free and vegan, and I ate here (a little unwillingly) for my sister's birthday.
I had the veganator burger on a gluten free bun and not only was the gluten free bun delicious, but the house made vegan patty was probably the best vegan burger I've ever had. My mom had the pulled jackfruit sandwich and said it was also to die for.
Absolutely worth being surrounded by meat, not only is it a great option for parties with multiple dietary restrictions, but I would choose to eat here on my own.

Chef Jenny B is phenomenal with what she does, and her and the staff were all incredibly lovely humans. You should probably just go eat there now.

Absolutely delicious food and super friendly service. When realized we were new, the server immediately helped guide us on the menu and what to order. He was very knowledgeable and he truly cares. We ordered the platter and everything was of high quality and prepared with love. All the meat was meticulously marinated and barbecued to perfection. Not only that, their beans and coleslaw was overly delicious. And the sauces are to die for. At the end we even got to sample their refreshing homehomade iced tea. Highly recommend this place. We will be back with many more friends…

I came here for lunch was recommended by a coworker so I decided to give it a try. Told my husband about it and we came the next day so he could try and he loved it!

Honestly the best bbq in the city. We always get the family feed bbq platter to get a little of everything and and extra 1/2 lb of brisket because we love it so much. The team is amazing and always great to chat with.

We've ordered the Bond Platter a few times for the office and it never disappoints! Loads of delicious, juicy BBQ with tons of slaw and beans! Definitely a crowd pleaser!

I had the ribs and brisket. Both were bone dry, hard, definitely left overs reheated and for the price it was a complete RIP OFF. I'd rate my experience a -20, the worst meal of my life. If you want ribs, look somewhere else, anywhere else. For my $42 I would have enjoyed a Mama burger at A&W better. Sad.

Everything here is delicious! Coconut cornbread, ribs, brisket, fried pickles, catfish, and so much more.

Good food and atmosphere. Waited a bit longer than usual and the brisket could have been more fatty and less dry. Chicken and pork were awesome.

Had grilled pork belly, brisket and chicken. Tasted delicious. The sides (especially the cornbread) was a delight!

Good foods in general. I recommend the brisket. If you combine with the Carolina sauce it will be awesome. A real calgarian atmosphere

Hard to describe how good the food was, based on my limited lunch stop. But it was outstanding! The only things keeping me from giving them 5 stars are the rustic seating (similar to pallet wood furniture), which looks the part but very uncomfortable. Also, the pricing is not for the faint of heart.

We recently used Jane Bond BBQ catering for a backyard event and everything was great!
We got a prompt reply from Vanessa who tailored everything to our budget and dietary requirements (celiac).
The brisket, pork belly and chicken were great and everyone loved the sauces! Even the last minute side substitute of kale caeser was great!
Lots of guests complimented the quality of food. Highly recommended!

Kind of pricey* but so very worth it as I ended up with leftovers for the next day!

* 08/21 Adding a clarification to answer Jane's question:

I came in for lunch and, being my first time, I asked a staff member what she recommended and ordered the Hangry Plate as a result.

I didn't ask the price before going for it (that's entirely on me) and was surprised at spending $26 for lunch which is probably why I used the term "pricey" above.

The reality is I could only eat half of it while there (there was just that much on the plate) and had an entire second meal with the leftovers the next day.

Having looked at your online menu while writing this reply, your lunch item prices are much lower and it appears I ordered an dinner plate as my lunch which makes the $26 price tag quite reasonable and well in line with my other (admittedly limited in Calgary) BBQ experiences.

I will be back for another lunch in the future and this time I'll know to order one of the lunch type menu options such as the Po' Boy or Brisket Dip as they're at a much more "lunch friendly" price point and portion and are really darned yummy looking in the menu photos!

After many times driving by and wanting to try it I finally stopped in. Im now kicking myself for not coming in the first time I seen it. Amazing food, staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, portions were good. 150% will be back

Make sure to check out their Bonding hour deals (happy hour). They are a crazy good deal. We have tried almost all the Bonding hour offerings and it hasn't disappointed us yet! We have used the platter for multiple gatherings and our guests enjoy it. We have dined in and enjoyed the atmosphere/decorations.

I came with friends on a Saturday evening and it wasn't overly busy. The wait staff was very kind. The menu and ordering system was a little confusing and glitchy because it was all online, but nothing overly complicated. We shared a platter and it had tons of food for a good price. The food came quickly and was delicious. The atmosphere was enjoyable. I would definitely recommend!

Been eating here since Jane's first shop in Dover! That was in 2015 and the food has only gotten better and better. This just might be the best bbq in Calgary.highly recommended you wont be disappointed

Fantastic brisket and the best corn bread I have had in a very long time. Service was first rate.

I cant say enough good things about this place. The food is so good and has Keto friendly options! The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere was so inviting. I highly recommend Jane Bond BBQ and cant wait to visit again!

We ordered from there it came to $120 and the food was awful could not even eat it. Food was missing food was fridge cold, heck even the chilli was so cold it came out in one clump when you stuck your fork in it. The chicken was so cheap it was almost foam. If your thinking of eating there maybe try eating in as the take out was not even food. I would say just run don't even order food there. Or just throw your money out the car window you will be farther ahead. We ordered from skip the dishes no refund no help said we can not contact the store. Absolute disappointment

Our first experience was for our wedding catering tasting in 2019. Adrienne was most helpful and the food spoke for itself, and we cannot wait until August to dazzle our guests with their tasty creations.

We have since eaten there multiple times, and this weekend tried out their new Marketplace.
We took home 2 steaks, mashed potatoes, Cajun corn on the cob & corn bread batter.
Again, I was not disappointed at all!
Everything was so easy to prepare, and the do it yourself bake corn bread tasted just as same as in house!

I cannot say enough kind words about their staff, Chef Jenny B & Adrienne. If you love to support local don't hesitate to go here, I promise you won't regret it.

Amazing BBQ at an affordable price. The Jane Bond Platter feeds probably 3-4 and is a great preview of what they have! My favorite is their cornbread which has coconut in it. Just amazing with the chicken which is flavorful and juicy.

Myself and 4 other colleagues tried Jane Bond today and we are absolutely blown away at the quality of food and the customer service provided. Bar none the best fried chicken I have ever had. A group of us visited this awesome little hidden gem on Saturday early evening for a late lunch/early dinner and we were wowed from start to finish.
It was my first time here but a couple friends in my crew had been here and had rave reviews. We decided to try the Bond Platter which had a huge variety of all the barbecue dishes and it impressed, let me tell ya! Everything from the ribs, jerk chicken, brisket, cajun corn on the cob and crawfish, to the baked beans, coleslaw, mac and cheese, coconut corn bread, and sausage - it was to die for! The whole experience made me feel like I wasnt even in Calgary. It felt as if I was actually somewhere down in the deep southern States. Don't let the address or location deter you - this place is amazing!
Jane Bond BBQ carries an authenticity that is hard to come across here in the city. The owner has a professional yet super down to earth vibe that makes you feel like you're one of her good friends that she invited over for a bbq. You can definitely see the passion she has for her business!
She mentioned on Saturday night there was a DJ coming in at 9pm as well, but we couldn't stay for that. I will definitely be coming back to experience the music side of things.but of course ALSO for more smokey BBQ goodness! Looking so forward to coming back.

Tbis place was awesome. I'm so glad we found it. The food was great and staff was friendly. I came from Montreal for work. When I'm back next year I'll surely go again.

I love good BBQ, Jane’s has pretty good BBQ. I had the brisket, it was melt in your mouth tender and paired very well with the BBQ sauce. The Mac N Cheese had a spicy BBQ power added; I found it a good match with the brisket. I did not like the slaw, personal preference, the ingredients were fresh.

The staff seemed very busy on non-customer duties and I felt my interaction where rushed.

There was a large screen playing Bond movies which I thought was a nice touch.

Definitely will go back to try other items on the menu.

A missed opportunity due to lack of thinking with location, food is good parking bad would do better if it was right in 17th Ave. (International Avenue) I like jerk sauce smoked BBQ mac& cheese.
2 downfalls location and owner sitting getting drunk with clientele most nights doesn't make for good service unfortunately.

FINALLY BBQ in Calgary that actually tastes like BBQ! All the other fakers can close their doors - I'm looking at you Hayden Block.

Pretty good food, took a bit. Was a little chilly inside but overall I'd come back and their iced tea was the bomb with the platter we had. The BBQ chick was on point!
