I find it a little hard to rate this place without half stars! So hopefully my description fills the gaps.
We were in an upstairs loft room. It was just big enough for our group.
Annoyingly, being upstairs, we had to cart our luggage up the stairs - there was no lift. There was just one trolley and of course it was on the ground floor!
With three separate beds in the loft, each of our kids had their own bed - a rarity on our trip to Canada. So that was a win. However, the bed in the main bedroom was small for the two of us.
The kitchenette had everything we needed although other families might want more.
The hotel itself has a pool and steam room, a laundry and a restaurant on site, all very good to have. The laundry equipment worked effectively. We didn’t find any hanging space but we Jerry-rigged a line in our room using the furniture.
The hotel is located towards the outer part of town. It is a good 15 minute easy walk into town. Nearby restaurants are all attached to hotels. Independent restaurants are in town.
We really appreciated the efforts the hotel manager went to ensure we made it to our train on a very cold winter day. Despite having booked a taxi the day before, he did not show and we could not get other taxis to turn up. The non-managerial staff were not sure what to do but the manager turned up just in time and drove us and others to the train station. She did say the taxis should not take pre-bookings. I would add that you should ensure you have a guaranteed transfer to the station.
Overall, not worth it. The hotel is outside of downtown, the restaurant is overpriced. The rooms are very dated and show it. The pool RUINED our bathing suits and left us all with a rash. We will be reporting it to the health department as the amount of bleach and chemicals in the pool was unsafe! Our bathing suits are bleached and ruined. Stay somewhere else.
As an older hotel, it's a little dated. Our room was clean and cozy. We had everything we needed and all the staff were smiling and friendly. If you don't like the heat, make sure to turn the thermostat down, it was too hot for us when we arrived. Double check the fridge settings so your groceries don't freeze. We had a great weekend and will happily stay here again
I liked the location, rooms were clean & quiet in November but there was no access to the pool for my granddaughter (which was 1 reason for booking there) & rooms were too hot, even with thermostat turned down to lowest setting, making it hard to sleep. Would not go back until room temperature control is fixed.
We stayed with three small kids for a long weekend and the one-bedroom suite was perfect. We paid around $160 per night and thought that was great value for the space we got.
There are a lot of amenities on site, including a coin laundry, motorcycle washing station, restaurant and pool (both of which were closed for rennovations when we were there).
If you are looking for a good family hotel where you get a good amount of space for a good price, I'd absolutely recommend this hotel!
We always book this hotel when we stay in Jasper due to the extra beds in the loft and full kitchen. Location is great A dishwasher in the room would be nice, not only for convenience but also knowing utensils / cups etc have been properly cleaned / sanitized A paper towel roll/holder in the kitchen would be great Overall a great place for families
Good budget priced hotel with well equipped kitchenette’s. The rooms are dated and the stairway up to the loft is steep and narrow. We did miss having wood for the fireplace as they just have fire logs now. Great location in town
I love the rooms for this place and the fireplaces in the loft suite it's why I book it. But the constant closing of the pool, sauna, etc and restaurant without any update to their website, without any notification when you call and book is getting to be a bit much and therefore lost stars. They close them down during the veterans appreciation time its like our thank you is to come visit when nothing is open. Another woman came in after us asking about the pool also so it's pretty apparent they don't tell anyone and now we are paid and cannot choose another hotel who actually has amenities for my daughter's birthday getaway! Pretty disappointed.
You know I try not to write bad reviews truly.but this hotel for the price we paid for the room I wish it was cleaner. We found hair in the shower and on the bedside nightstand there was dirty face cloth or tissue under the mattress as well a random pill in the night stand table. The front supervisor was friendly enough but just very disappointed in paying that price for not a overly clean room.
The hotel and room were good, clean and cosy. There's a laundry on the lower floor which made washing clothes very easy. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
Chambre propre à part les fenêtres. Lit confortable. Bien située près du centre-ville. Très beau jardin extérieur pour luncher ou relaxer. Salle de lavage très pratique!
If I’m honest, when we first arrived I didn’t think much of the property from the outside. Appearances can be deceiving, as the suite we had was amazing. Separate mezzanine level for the children’s bedroom and plenty of room. Good location and the pool and hot tub were lovely.
The inn is specious and comfortable. I like it accommodated with a kitchen which is convenient for travelers. I have encountered some issues with the deposit method but it was resolved after contacting the reservation representative.
We stayed here for two nights. The room was nice and spacouis. The loft was old and creaky but well maintained. The balcony was nice and the lounge was comfy.a little cramped in the stairway area. Amenities were convienient and high quality. The staff were very nice and welcoming. Location is easily accesible but quiet. Great hotel.
