Must visit, no doubt absolutely incredible. Jasper NP is magical, it's grand, the mountains are endless, the size/hight that's something to experience in person. No video or pictures could do it's justice, the size in person just doesn't seem real. There is so much to stop and see, one day wasn't enough.
I was there on December 22,2023 It was snowing which made the experience times more spectacular. The one thing, I wish they would have salted the main road that takes you through the park, roads were were icy both ways, it got a bit dangerous to drive at night. I was surprised but it does warn you when you enter. I have an sub, 4WD with snow tires, I was fine but I could tell a few sedans had a little hard time but it was in spots not all through out. It also let's you know there will be no reception for about 180km It was practically empty when I was there, I saw barely any cars going by, which made me enjoy nature to it's fullest. You won't regret visiting Jasper, it's a MUST!
Would recommend going here for sight seeing and just exploring what life has too offer! Great views, awesome activities and just so much great things too say! 10/10.
It is worth the drive the view is abating throughout, many lake and 2 ice glaciers you will see! Also waterfalls and the size of the mountains is just breadth taking!
Maybe not "better" than banff, but definitely different and if less commercial is your cup of tea then this is the place. Hiking and mountains everywhere. Wapiti in abundance!
Honestly, every part of JNP is amazing. Not sure how this national park could be anything but 5 stars. There is so much to do and so many places to relax to take a breath. Love it.
One of Canada's great national parks. Great hiking and great attractions. Jasper is a very good base of operations while visiting the area and the park.
Jasper National Park has been on my bucket list for quite some time, recently I was able to fulfill a dream, a dream of being close to Nature one of the most beautiful creation we from this earth inherited from above! From seeing Caribou and Elk graciously crossing in front of my car to riding on the Ice fields parkway, the landscape views of tall rocky mountains were a mesmerizing feast for any eyes from 1 to 92! Lakes are turquoise blue with glacial water and are abundant around Jasper, there are plenty to see and do and town offers good quality food and plenty shopping. I am very surprised with the fact that people in Jasper are very much into fitness, hiking and nature, very healthy choice that a few of us have. I give jasper 6 stars out of five!
It was great had a wonderful time the local staff and people are so nice and very kind. Makes me want to move to this beautiful little town the architecture is incredible the scenery is amazing the food is delicious
Amazing views. Beautiful. Enjoyed Jasper so much more than Banff. Seemed less crowded, more places to stop, more wildlife. Really enjoyed the gondola trip to the top of the mountain. Wasn't extremely busy when we visited.
We try to get out to Jasper for a week every 1-2 years as we enjoy it so much. We hike, bike, kayak, golf, sight see and take sometime to just relax and take in the fresh mountain air.
Great little small town Theatre. Clean as a whistle. Friendly staff. Affordable snacks. I appreciate so much that they persevered through Covid and have opened again.
Always love are backcountry camping trips here.this year we got snow on Sep 1st at Coronet Creek Campsite. Tonquin Valley offers very scenic views as well:)
Quite stunning! Picturesque lakes, lush green valleys, snow capped peaks, colorful alpine tundra, flowing rivers, you name it.would rate it better than banff. Be prepared for some steep hikes
Jasper is so vast and huge! It has its own characteristics and beauty. One week is not enough for you to explore this. There are plenty of things you can do here, like. Hiking, walking, camping, kayaking, cycling, boating and so much more! Wild life is everywhere. Elk, deer Nd moose is just around the corner. We love this place specially the scenic view drive from Jasper to Banff! Amazing view of mountain and landscape. Highly recommended.
A true treasure. Small enough to enjoy. Big enough to satisfy your wishes. Its a real Park. Not a shopping center in disguise. You can enjoy nature without road closures and high tech fences.
Beautiful national park that I've enjoyed visiting again and again. Majestic mountains, rushing water, and many trails offer a plethora of options to explore. Maligne Canyon in winter is a fun adventure.
Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rockies comprises a vast wilderness area of Alberta province defined by glaciers, lakes and peaks like 11,033-ft. -high Mt. Edith Cavell. The Icefields Parkway, a road from the town of Jasper, passes subalpine forest and the immense Columbia Icefield. Outdoor activities like hiking, camping and skiing are popular. Native wildlife includes elk, moose, bighorn sheep and bears.
Amazing views. Sometimes there are goats at the entrance. Lots of wildlife. Be sure to check out Athabaska falls. The people at the tourist centre are really nice.
Wow what can I say? I've wanted to go to Jasper for years and it was amazing! We loved the hikes, the animals and wildlife, and of course the little town of Jasper. There were some great restaurants and overall we just had a fun time exploring the town. I would recommend staying in one of the park facilities. We stayed at the machine shed and loved it!
Great Fall vacations with the family! Beautiful scenic highways, and great lakes. The Rocky Mountains were Awesome Easy driving and family friendly spots
Love coming to Jasper National park. I think its one of the most beautiful parks in the world. The drive from Lake Louis to Jasper is one of the best scenic drives I've ever been on, just love it. I've driven it over a hundred times for work and still love it, any time of the year it always changes and seems like its different every time. Just BEAUTIFUL!
Awesome views driving down through this park lots of beautiful scenery. I went hiking around a bunch of cliffs here and walked on waterfalls with ice shoes. There is a lot of things to do for activities here so it's a nice getaway for a weekend if you want to do something with friends or family.
This is a nice place to visit whether it's Summer or Winter. It's advisable to go there during summer since most activities are open during that season. But overall this place is magnificent!
If you are in Canada, Jasper and Banff are must visit. Entire route from Edmonton - Jasper - Banff - Calgary is just ammmazzzziiing! Drive from Jasper to Banff is one of the worlds best drives. 3-4 hours of PURE BLISS! Try to stop at these designated look outs and enjoy what nature has to offer! Use your camera to take some pictures however its a real treat for naked eyes!
Nice drive.nice family time. I do not think there should be a fee to enter the park. Jasper and Banff is hard enough to do on a budget and then pay the park fees as well, not cool. Also lady at the park gate charged us an extra day Does not make a difference if you buy ahead or at gate- same price.
Besides Parks Canada charging you just to drive down a highway that hasnt been plowed its beautiful. Lots of opportunities to stop. All they need now is more passing lanes and it would be perfect!
Less busy than Banff but still much busier than it used to be 5 years ago. Stupid tourists galore in peak season walking up to animals, even during rut. Hotel prices come way down later in fall and its also less busy. Also looks nicer with some more snow on the mountains and the changing leaves. Main shopping is pretty much just the two main drags. Few bike stores and clothing stores. Earls is a good place for dinner and the whistle stop pub is great for a drink. Make sure to take the drive out to pyramid lake as well as JPL. Both very close. A small nice hike to do is Valley of the five lakes. Still a great place to go even with the influx of people
Incredible drive south on the icefields parkway post snowstorm. Lenticular clouds were an amazing sight. Our 4th trip thru the park. Will never get enough!
