Just in time for the open starry sky tour, we took the cable car to the top of the mountain to watch the sunset, have dinner, and enjoy watching the stars and the Milky Way. It was a wonderful trip.
Good restaurants top and bottom and the views are astonishing. You also have the option to walk up the mountain further from where the skytram ends, but it's at altitude so be prepared for that. The views are worth it.
So glad we took the Skytram up Whistlers Summit. The "flight" takes about 7 minutes. Once at the top, you have absolutely gorgeous views of Jasper and the surrounding area. At around 60 CAD per person round trip, it isn't cheap but is totally worth it. We went in early October. There were still many visitors due to thanksgiving weekend, and we needed to wait an hour for our flight after we bought tickets. Return time is pre-booked when you buy tickets, but you can come down earlier if there is space on the tram.
We attended the Dark Sky festival and we got to take the tram at night. Incredible! The staff were very accommodating, friendly, attentive. Except the cashier in the gift shop who was sitting and scrolling on his phone while we were asking him questions.
I recommend you wait for a clear day as the views are amazing. The trip to the top is a reasonable price. It is very cold at the top in October. Cafe is ok for a hot drink
What an amazing adventure and bucket list view of the mountains. Breath taking and surreal.
Several items on the website were not available and our waitress was not very knowledgeable on the available menu items. When asked a question she responded very rudely and walked away. Took her 25 minutes to bring 2 Ceasers to our table that we could see sitting on the bar for 20 of those 5 minutes. There was less then 30 people sitting to eat with several other servers. She constantly would shake her head in disgust every time she left a customers table. Super unwelcoming. Other then the incredible view and hike, would not go again.
Experience = 5 stars Service = 2 stars
Even the gondola conductors had better customer service.
Quick route up the mountain to viewing / hiking trails. Tram can disappear into the mist and snow covering at the top can restrict walking routes, but worth it for the ride. (Mid October 2023.)
Great experience, very different to Banff so defibrillator worth doing both! The tram had lots of information and we was fascinated by the mechanisms on display. The tram was a bit snug as they fit quite a few people in there with a member of the team as well. Team members were great and so friendly.
Up the top was a cafe and little shop but the views were the highlight, literally in 7 minutes we were transported to a snowy winter wonderland!
Unfortunately we didn't make it quite to the summit due to the amount of snow and slipping everywhere bit still we had a great time on this experience
We came here during the Dark Sky Package and did the Golden Hour Tour. Was an amazing experience, would without question go again. The staff was all professional and knowledgeable. We were able to see the northern lights when we were up there. We were on the summit at night so was chilly but as long as you’re dressed for the weather it’s well worth the cost.
The lower station of the Jasper cable car which takes you to the upper station at an altitude of 2263 meters in just over seven minutes. The view you can enjoy from the cabin during the journey to the top is spectacular. It is the longest and highest cable car in Canada. Beautiful memories.
I was so lucky when I can catch the cloud on top of Whistlers Summit That’s amazing $59/person when you go up here And you have to hike a bit more to reach the Summit
100% must do while in Jasper! The ride itself is a chill smooth 7 minutes and the employee along is knowledgeable and can answer anything you want to know.
We went on a cloudy day and breaking through the clouds on the way up was beautiful.
Once you're up the hike to the summit can take you anywhere from 30 mins - 1hr depending on your pace and the conditions. Mid October there is already snow.
The view at the false summit and summit are just incredible and it's a perfect spot for a special moment.
We didn't go to the restaurant but did get a nice skytram magnet for the memories.
Took a "flight" to the top of the mountain, and hiked around up there taking in the extraordinary views and fresh mountain air. There was a bit of a wait to go up, but there's a place to grab a bite to eat and drink to pass some time. Also a small restaurant at the top although I didn't try the one at the top. As well as gift/ souvenir shops.
Photogenic and beautiful sky tram leading to really nice viewpoint on the whole Jasper - hiking up to the summit might be challenging to someone, so this easy to use transportation system is really handy.
I didn't expect much, but the Rocky Mountains can be seen further than I expected, and the peaceful Jasper is also beautiful. Personally, it was very good. I think it’s more leisurely to ride late in the afternoon rather than early in the morning. A tour from above doesn't take long.
Well worth the price and hike after taking the skytram up to the top. Views of Jasper Town and the surrounding mountains were gorgeous. Staff were welcoming, friendly and explained the history of the skytram in detail. Food and drinks were pretty good at the top as well. Great excursion to check out in Jasper.
