I imported a forester with jdm connection, the import process was very smooth and William was very patient with me answering all my questions. I would recommend importing through jdmconnections as it is clear that they care about the quality of the product/ service you are getting.

Will at JDM Connection is the best importer for Japanese vehicles on the west coast. When my 2004 Pajero arrived it was even better then I could have ever expected. Will had the car inspected and had pictures of everything we asked for, including underneath, and he was absolutely bang on with estimated price after shipping and customs. Could not recommend Will and JDM Connection more!

My flat out honest review of the experience provided by William is nothing short of incredible. My Audi arrived today (after what felt like decades), but trust me when I say the wait was worth it. The car is immaculate. There were some hiccups along the way, all of which were out of the control of William, but they way they were handled was above any expectation I had.

Some things I learned along the way:

- Patience is key (this was definitely the hardest part). It can take a long time to find a car, but it can take even longer to get it. In my case this process was started nearly four months ago. If you don’t have patience then importing isn’t a good option for you.

- The way the world is currently with used vehicles has put a tremendous load on the job that is coordinating a vehicle to come over here from Japan. (William kept everything together and always had a solution if something came up)

- it isn’t unreasonable for something to get delayed. There are a TON of hands involved throughout the process. Between liaisons in Japan to oversee the purchasing of your vehicle, shipping companies to get your car here on a boat, brokers once it gets to Canada, staff at the port, shipping again if you don’t pick it up yourself… it’s a lot more than just driving on a ferry.

Moral of the story, if you are thinking about doing this - have a conversation with William first. He will lay everything out and be true to what he tells you. He never takes longer than a day to get back to you, even if you send him as many emails as I did.

This is how dreams happen. William made this experience super smooth, found an immaculate version of the car I was after and got it here safe and sound. Patience is the game, it takes time but I would never found a car this clean without his service. Trust the reviews he definitely delivers.

At first I was a bit scared to import a car from Japan but after my first experience with JDM Connection, I wouldn’t hesitate to import another JDM vehicle from them. Originally, I was looking to import a small kei car but thought about practicality and ended up getting an Odyssey instead. William helped me through the process and like others have said, timely responded to all of my questions. The buying process was easy, William handled all of the documents and such, all I had to do was pay and wait. Shipping did take quite a bit longer than expected but other than that, the experience was smooth even though I had many worries. Just got the car road legal and registered here in Edmonton and I’m loving it! Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to import a JDM vehicle and will definitely be importing another one in the future!

Imported an Audi TT mid/end of July 2022 through JDM Connection. Car arrived at Vancouver port last week but apparently soaked in water with mold all over the interior. Received pictures from shipping company who were suppose to pick this car up from the port and deliver to my place in Ontario. Waiting to see how JDM Connection / William resolve this and deliver a Grade 4 car (as shown in pictures during the initial commitment/sale). Will update this review once car is delivered to my place.

Recently imported a 2005 Fairlady Z33 through William at JDM Connection. I could not be happier with the customer service I received through William, and how prompt and detailed his responses were to my many questions. He found me the exact vehicle I wanted with my criteria, and I got the car in a very timely fashion. I will 100% be importing through William again, and I would definitely recommend anyone contact him for his pristine and professional services.

Great service and communication! I called Will at JDM Conections, told him what vehicle I want and price range. He searched for it and presented me with all the options to choose from. He really made sure I like the unit before we purchased it and let me tell you, he knows his stuff. Will did all the arrangements, all I had to do is sign the paperwork and wire the cash. Even though I never met Will in person just couple phone calls, emails and texts I can assure you customer service is his strength.

I recently went through Will to import a Toyota Altezza. Without a doubt, Will made my life as easy as possible throughout the entire process. The poor guy had to answer so many of my questions, but he was always quick to respond and didn't mind me bugging him so much.

Imported a vehicle I was specifically looking with help of William @ JDMConnection. William is so experienced in importing cars and professional, was always in contact and provided answers on any kind of questions I would have, auction process, inspections, auction grade, freight, lead times, picking up process etc. Interesting that first try on the auction for the Forester I was interested in was lost as it went over my budget. I was sad but William told me that we find a better one next week and those were true words - a better car popped out and we won that lot below the budget. William took care about everything during the export process, shipping, custom duty process etc. As the result, the car turned be in a great condition, pretty accurate to the auction gradelist. So William helped me to get the car I wanted. Definately recommend William and JDMConnection if you are looking for a JDM car.

Update I bought a 2007 Cadillac Escalade ESV from William October 2021. It's May 2022 I am happier now more than ever. The process was a no brainer. I discovered @jdmconnection.ca close to 20 years ago. Over the years I have referred many (CUPW) Canada Post Postal Workers to him, and friends. They are always blown away by the magic he does. When you buy from William you are taking the risk and the guess work out of it. 15 plus years is nothing. It's like these cars and trucks came out of a time capsule. Thank you William. I worked with William over the period of around 2 months to import my jdm suv. It came in amazing condition and he helped me throughout the entire process even getting it to a shop to do an out of province inspection and answering all my little questions during the process. I worked with William over the span of around 5 months to import a Mitsubishi Delica from Japan. Despite the search taking months and multiple auctions, at no point did I feel rushed. I was eventually able to find one with the exact specs I was looking for at a good price. William is an absolute professional and knows the market very well.

Heard about William from a few other people importing Evo wagon in Canada, of all 6 owners 3 were imported through him. That number doesn't lie. William was able to answer EVERY question I threw out and in details, if I were him I'd be mad at how much questions there were but he was super professional and replies within a day or sometimes minutes! I was able to snipe on this wagon for relatively cheaper price among all other brokers. The only thing that's maybe a drawback was the time frame provided, but I guess everything is delayed due to covid so I'd take that.

After lots of online searching I decided to go with JDM Connection. Will is absolutely the BEST! He always answers all questions and he was really patient with me asking 1000 questions about the process and asking where the truck was all the time. The process was a few months from Japan to Canada but he was upfront with Price and final timelines from step 1. I would definitely recommend and I will definitely use JDM in the future for my next import. The only issue now is, I can't stop looking at his website for my next vehicle.

I used JDM connection in 2014 to import a 1997 Subaru WRX STI Wagon.

No issues with the car, and no surprise fees. They steered me away from a shady car, and had their mechanic in Japan confirm the STI I picked was in great shape.

Went on to sell the STI recently, and had little-no issues with it at all. Made a decent profit and would consider using them again in the future.

Why i couldn't have asked for a better experience.

JDM Connection is the way to go if you're looking for an import. It was my first time importing which can be intimidating but now that all is said and done I don't even know where to begin when it comes to the good things I have to say. All of my questions were answered fast and in detail. William spent hours with me making sure I had the right vehicle for me (even though I'm sure I wasn't his only client at the time), I paid less than I was quoted, there are also plenty of options as far as receiving your import goes. He can have it sent right to your driveway if you want but I chose to fly to Vancouver and drive it back to Saskatchewan and the vehicle was a dream to drive back, buying an import almost felt like a steal because the KM are always sooooo low it's nearly like getting a new car, the car was in the condition it was rated for which made passing the safety very easy. Over all really good service and you can tell this company is in it to help people get that dream import over making a dollar. Very impressed and won't be looking anywhere else for my next import these guys are where it's at.

Amazing service. I was a little hesitant about buying a JDM car from overseas but William was extremely helpful and reassuring that the import process would be smooth and easy. Sure enough, it was! The process was very simple thanks to their service and all of my questions were answered quickly and thoroughly.

Despite my constant and sometimes banal queries, william was great about answering everything I had. Vehicle was a great price and nearly immaculate for a 17 year old car.

I'd recommend JDM Connection to anyone looking to buy a new used car. The process is smooth and painless. Sure it takes a while but all said and done it is absolutely worth it. William helped bring over my 2002 Mitsubishi Delica. I looked on the JDM Connnection auction sites for about 3 months until I found the right Delica. I was quite picky for what I was after but once I found it, William had it inspected prior to bidding to make sure it was in good condition. It was in fabulous shape so I went for it. Bid day was a tense day, but I won.
From there it took another 3 months for me to actually take possession of the car. During this time William sent me more pictures of the car and kept me posted on the car's status. He also answered all of my questions about what to expect once the car landed in Canada.
William also transported the car from the port in BC to his shop in Edmonton to do all the necessary inspections.
All in all I couldn't be happier with his service.

I just finished importing my second vehicle from William (VW R32). The second car was just as easy to import as the first vehicle 5 years ago. William basically took care of everything including the OOP inspection. Really a seamless process from start to finish. You have options to either pick up your vehicle in Vancouver at the port which surprisingly is what a lot of people do because they want to drive the vehicle back home. I opted to have my vehicle brought to Alberta and had the OOP included by JDM Connection in my landed cost of the car. It was convenient for me to leave work which is near by, meet William in person (which I did not do during the first vehicle's import process) and drive the car off his lot in Stony Plain.
Every stupid question I had during the process was answered without judgement as with most people buying a vehicle is still considered a big purchase. William made it easy. Hardest part was waiting to be contacted to say "hey, your car is arriving at port", also I would suggest to the first timers to go out and have a new car audio deck waiting since Japan's bandwidths aren't the same as North America. You won't get any radio stations while you're cruising in your new whip so make sure you can get your new deck/speaker system in ASAP! I personally find it sucks to drive with no tunes! Thanks William for everything. I'm currently planning very limited mods to the car - powder coat rims, intake, (exhaust already sounds fantastic), and ECU flash from Autobahn in the summer. Lastly some sort of rock protection for my flawless factory paint!

Great service. William is great to do business with and all around great guy. He will go the extra mile for you. He got me my STi for a great price. He is able to get extra photos taken and the car looked over by someone in Japan, and even test drive it too. Email replies were quick and left no questions unanswered. From first email to pickup at the train yard in Winnipeg was 8 weeks. Car came better than I even expected! Quick and trustable service I would recommend to anyone. I recently imported my first JDM car through William. His knowledge of the Japanese car auctions and honesty was very good. He took time out of his day to allow me to drive a RHD Forester, which I greatly appreciated. Within 3 days of paying my deposit he had found me an excellent 01 WRX wagon with 53k km on it. Exactly what it was looking for. I had the car about 5-6 weeks later. The car is everything as advertised and in really nice shape! William's quote for the car was accurate and his communication through the process was prompt and patient as I had lots of questions. My first RHD was bought from the person that had William of JDM Connection import it. This was back in 2007. To now find out that William is still in business 11 years later speaks highly of a business model that succeeds.
I bought a vehicle this year (2018) at an auction through William. It was a painless transaction and he walked me through all the steps as well as reassured me a few times when I was becoming impatient.ha.
Part of the transaction for me was figuring in the cost to Uber to the Greyhound terminal in Calgary, take a bus to Edmonton and another Uber to JDM Connection in Stony Plain, AB. Roughly $100, but well worth it to arrive, grab the car and head back to Calgary with full confidence because William is an honest and prudent importer of RHD cars. He even tipped me off to an insurance company that will do full coverage as my and other insurance companies are only doing liability now even though my last 3 RHD's had full coverage with them.

William is an absolute pleasure to work with. I used JDM Connection to import a bugeye WRX wagon earlier this year, and the process was significantly easier than I expected. The price, which was already quoted lower than I could find from any other importer, ended up being a few hundred dollars less than William quoted me. The car ended up being in slightly better condition than described, and made a 10,000 km trip around the United States without drama 2 weeks after I took delivery in Vancouver. I'll definitely be coming back to William when it comes time to import my next car from Japan.
