After COVID, a backyard ceremony, a baby, and nearly 4 years since our engagement, my husband and I decided it was time to plan the wedding of our dreams. We enlisted JYW to help us navigate planning between our demands at home and work, and have never been so grateful.

Julianne came with sound advice and a beautiful vision for our wedding design that fit us perfectly. About one month out when the stress was beginning to mount, Kaysen swooped in like some sort of planning and production angel. No detail was left unconsidered or unmanaged.

We chose the Riesling program so we could have someone coordinate the day-of logistics. It allowed us, our family and wedding party to be fully present for the event. We started our planning for our wedding in 2019 with Julianne, and three years and two covid reschedules later, we were finally married!

They helped us understand every step of the planning, and were always available to provide / revive feedback when needed. They helped us with both our reschedules and helped coordinate with our vendors when we were out of the country.

Having a wedding planner who just “gets you” and feels like they truly care about you is so crucial to have! I personally have never been someone who has had a Pinterest board for my wedding and did not even know where to begin especially with it being a destination wedding for us. We hired Julianne Young Weddings a little over three months before our desired wedding date. We were planning an elopement with dreams on making it “magazine worthy” in Banff National Park. Julianne Young Weddings was one of numerous wedding planners we reached out to in the Calgary/Banff area. From our initial meeting with Aimsley we were blown away with the organization, execution and care that she had to make her clients dreams a reality. Aimsley is easily one of the nicest, most loving humans I’ve ever met. From the first day I met her it was VERY easy to tell that she just loved her job and really enjoyed making her clients happy.

They were attentive to detail, asked us lots of questions and always kept in touch via video chat or phone call. They provided us with their preferred hotel, restaurant and vendor recommendations. We hired JYW for month and day of coordination of our wedding and honestly cannot recommend them enough! From our first meeting with Julianne, we knew that we were in good hands, she is definitely an expert on all things wedding. We were lucky enough to also work with Aimsley and Renee who made us feel calm and prepared for our big day. Having them there during the planning process to bounce ideas off, ask questions and get advice was so helpful and made planning nearly stress free. On our big day Aimsley was AMAZING! From performing dress surgery to remove a security tag that was left on one of our bridesmaid dresses, to saving the bustle on my train and making the day go perfectly. Where to start. We had a COVID wedding planned for 2020, but unfortunately needed to reschedule that. We originally had planned on not having a wedding planner but with more time to think about it we decided it would be a good idea, and we are so glad we did. As out of town clients having a destination wedding at Lake Louise we did some googling, pinteresting and instagramming to find different wedding planners in the area. Our first contact was with JYW and we didn’t bother to contact anyone else after meeting with Julianne. Aimsley became our contact with JYW and she was fantastic from the start. She was extremely helpful every step of the way, having done many weddings in the area she was able to put us in touch with vendors, create timelines and make sure that our big day went off perfectly. Also a big thank you to Renée who came on later but was instrumental in day of coordination. Aimsley helped us organize our micro-wedding in Canmore! Coming from another province, Aimsley was SO helpful giving us recommendations on reception locations, transportation, hair/make-up, and an officiant! She always replied to us so quickly when we had a question, and made sure everything was ready to go to make for a super relaxed bride on her wedding day! A week of so before the day, we ended up pushing our entire day an hour earlier because of changing restrictions - Aimsley was on top of contacting our vendors and ensuring everything was set to go. We will never be able to thank Aimsley enough for everything she did for us. Her patience, professionalism and attention to detail goes unmatched. During the planning process the communication was outstanding, always quick to respond and put us at ease with any questions. The covid restrictions changed less than 24 hours before our wedding and Aimsley rescheduled the entire wedding to start earlier without us having to do a thing. Aimsley and Renee made our wedding day absolutely perfect, not one thing went wrong and that is all because of them. The wedding took place in July, 2021. The primary wedding planner was Stephanie and that's who we had the most contact with, but she was ably assisted by Aimsley. Stephanie and her team did a lot of work behind the scenes, of course, in the weeks and months leading up to the wedding, but as parents, most of our contact with the team was just before, and on the day of, the wedding.

Personally, both Stephanie and Aimsley were a pleasure to deal with. They were very friendly, but efficient. I was struck by how patient Stephanie was on the day of the rehearsal. It must have been like herding cats to keep the wedding party on schedule, but she kept the tone light and the smile rarely left her face.

As for the behind-the-scenes advance planning, Stephanie and her team did an excellent job making the most of every square inch of the back yard where the reception was held. Their vision resulted in a setting that was beautiful and elegant, but also warm and inviting.

The day of the wedding went amazingly smoothly. This was in part because of all of the advance planning that went into the wedding. But it was also because, on the day of the wedding, Stephanie and Aimsley 'took charge' (in a very nice way) and proactively solved any potential issues before they arose. They became the 'go-to' people at the wedding — answering questions, fixing boutonnieres, and doing a hundred other things — which lifted a huge burden off the shoulders of our daughter and her new husband, Stephen. Courtney and Stephen were able to completely relax and just immerse themselves in the joy of that day.

After cancelling our original venue (but keeping the same date), we moved our wedding to my husband's parent's house. We hired JYW as our wedding planner.

As the mother of the bride, I had a wonderful experience working with Julianne and getting to know her a little before my daughter’s wedding. My daughter Julia and her fiancé Rory live in the UK and the wedding was going to be held at our family cottage. Julianne needed to be able to go to the site, understand the property and the cottage, and think about how best to execute on the vision Julia and Rory had for their wedding. She needed a tour guide and I was pleased to meet Julianne and take her to the cottage a couple of months ahead of the event.

The wedding was held at my grandparents' cabin in Kananaskis Country, Alberta. The cabin is rustic, hard-to-find, and has literally no reception. We cannot imagine having to navigate the ever changing government restrictions pertaining to weddings without Stephanie from Julianne Young Weddings. Our original wedding of 50 guests had to be cut down to 7 guests with no reception, one month before our wedding day. We wanted to forge ahead, and Stephanie supported us 100%. She created an even more perfect wedding day than we could have ever imagined, and shielded us from all the added stress changing wedding plans would have been without her. Working with JWY was an amazing experience from the very beginning. I was an eager bride that wanted to book everything as quickly as possible but didn’t really know where to start. Julianne really guided me through what the priorities were and helped me relax while staying focused. After having the majority of our wedding planned COVID hit hard and we were forced to reschedule the wedding. The team was quick to adjust and help replan our wedding to the following year. At that point I was so done with wedding planning and the JYW team was there to help. In the summer we decided to change our plans again to get married this year and have a more elopement style wedding. One, because Julianne is such a wonderful and lovely person to work with. It’s like planning your wedding with a best girlfriend who also happens to be the most capable and competent person you know. After the wedding was over I missed talking to her! Secondly, Julianne has impeccable taste. Reviewing her portfolio we knew that we could trust her to make decisions on our behalf because she is so detail oriented and has an excellent eye. Even small things, like the color of the napkins exactly matching the room decor (something I would have agonized over), were things that she paid attention to, and because of that our wedding was flawless. We also received compliments from guest about her going above expectations, even compared to what they had seen from other planners. Julianne is a hidden gem, we would recommend her to anyone.

I cannot speak highly enough of Aimsley and Sacha from JYW. I had so many guests comment on how kind, professional and organized the two of them were on our wedding day. As a Type A couple, Aimsley never flinched at any of my to-do lists or my lists of questions. She always had an answer, a follow up and a big smile on her face! They were both so wonderful to have with us all day long, and I knew everything was in good hands. We always thought about having a destination wedding somewhere in Europe, but the logistics felt impossible. When we met with Julianne, we were ready to compromise and plan a wedding in Calgary. Within 20 minutes of sitting down with us, she sensed that our hearts were elsewhere and offered to help. "You guys can totally do this, " she said, "I can help you. "

She then proceeded to dream up, plan, and coordinate the destination wedding of our dreams in Monemvasia, Greece.

No detail was too small, insecurity ignored or email unanswered. The day was perfection in every way, and it was all because of Julianne. We didn't speak to a single vendor or stress about a single thing. She handled all the cross-continental logistics with ease. When the wedding arrived, we flew to Greece and floated through every moment, awed at the beauty Julianne had created for us and amazed that this was actually OUR wedding.

She's the full package in every way, and will make your day the best it can possibly be, all while making you feel like she's got your back and is just as excited about everything as you are. We have been a Newlywed couple since August 2019! Julianne Young Weddings (JYW) exceeded our expectations in what we sought in a Wedding Planner and Team. Julianne has extensive experience as a wedding planner and it shows in her extreme passion and commitment to making her couples’ wedding vision a dream come true.

We truly admire Julianne’s open personality and work ethic. Organization and communication is everything, which is reflected in her workspace, online management, and professional demeanor. At our initial consult, she took time to get to know us as a couple. With genuine interest, she listened to our love story and then asked us to discuss our wedding vision. She addressed our wants and needs with intent and great care.

Julianne is not one to shy away from telling you her honest thoughts and opinions. This helped us so much, as we were able to discuss what we wanted and what we could realistically pull off for our wedding. Aimsley’s emcee timeline was perfect as it included key announcements that we would have overlooked had we done this ourselves. Aimsley also made valuable suggestions on the logistics of how to manage an outfit change during a cultural performance.

Pre-Wedding Day: Julianne created a vision board and worked with vendors to produce the most amazing decoration/lighting display. She would check in with us to confirm that our visions are aligned prior to proceeding. Julianne's vision board highlighted the strengths of our venue and completely showcased our wedding colors and theme. Julianne ensures progress by scheduling meetings. When help is requested, she makes herself available even beyond our scheduled time.

One moment we will always remember is how JYW took complete control and maintained their composure at our Rehearsal Ceremony. Our ceremony coordinators at our church were unfortunately not available, thus leaving us in a situation of disorganization and unanswered questions. Only the Priest and Wedding Party would be left to coordinate, but what truly helped were key family members and JYW. They immediately addressed issues, facilitated the Rehearsal Ceremony, found answers to our questions, and kept it professional throughout the whole experience as we had an extremely large group. Julianne and her team really helped focus our concerns. On our wedding day, the Ceremony went flawlessly!

During the Wedding Day: All vendors were adhering to the best of their abilities to the detailed timeline created and provided by JYW. The coordination between everyone went unnoticed because everyone was so prepared. This is what we believe showcased the high quality service and attentiveness to detail that JYW provides. One incident that happened at our reception was that a key item was missing from one of our programs. As it was being retrieved, Julianne helped calm our worries and reassured us that the time will work itself out. In times of stress, you need someone to help you re-focus on the bigger picture. Julianne was that person.

Post-Wedding Day: Julianne and her team took great care of all our valuables during and after the wedding from the guest book table, decorations, flowers, and other items we brought in. JYW delegated task to ensure our venue and vendors were working in tandem. Julianne’s teammate Sacha was even seen helping to take down decor items at the end of our event!

Overall, we are very thankful to have JYW as our wedding planner. If it were not for JYW going above and beyond, we would not have imagined that fairytale weddings existed!
