Portion of the meat seemed smaller than other bbq places. The soup was really good and the corn cheese was good however there was not enough cheese. The atmosphere was nice, not too loud with people.the place was very clean as well and service was good, they answeree right away when we used the call bell and the service people were nice
I like the food in general but the new KBBQ grill sucks. Uneven heat distribution on the grill makes certain areas completely cold and other parts very hot. The meat quality was not great either. But I like their non-KBBQ offerings for the most part.
Not too bad. Good food, place is very clean and the grills are nice.
A bit on the pricey side but servings are plenty when we went for 2 people. Lots of side dishes too! Squid side dish is the only one you can’t refill which makes sense since squid is expensive. The lettuce I was surprised you can only refill once. We made it work but it’s something to keep in mind when you go the first time or with more people. Corn cheese was delicious
Service was great when we went in during lunch/opening!
It was my fifth time visiting there and can confidently say it is the best Korean restaurant in Edmonton! Servers there are super kind and friendly. Def visit again
Excellent! Loved all the Ban Chan! Clean and crisp authentic homey taste. Just like mom’s, if you know what I mean.
My ratings:
1 star - do not go here! Stay away! 2 stars - I do not recommend it. 3 stars - alright to good. I would not return here but you MAY enjoy it. 4 stars - I recommend it! Yes, I’d like to return. 5 stars - drop everything now and come here! You are missing out fo shizzle!
They kicked me and my sister and my cousin out of the restaurant when we came in to ask what they served and they thought we were beggars because we were wearing our traditional clothing it was so rude and disrespectful.
Tasty and authentic Korean food. Many selections you cannot find in other restaurants like Makchang, and godeunguh jorim. Great service to top it off. Will be back!
Awesome Korean food found for a late night dinner. The highlight was definitely the Jokbal (braised pork feet) and the beef intestine hot pot! Both and highly recommended. Definitely would come again!
I was fortunate to visit Jung a couple times in early January and I was quite happy with the food and service they offered. They are located in a small strip mall, right beside many other Korean eateries and services in town.
Edmonton has been lacking in true Korean BBQ options, so I am really happy to have another option now. On the first occasion I ordered the Pork set for 3-4 people (pictured), on the second occasion we ordered the Pork and Meat Combo for 5-6 people. No, this restaurant does not do AYCE but operates on set menu.
Overall, we found the meat quality and quality of side dishes to be good and for a larger group the pricing was very reasonable for Edmonton standards (in fact I think it is better than the other set menu KBBQ option in terms of pricing in town.) For ~4 people we ended around ~$40 per person, for 6 people ~$30-35 per person. Ambience and service at the restaurant was also acceptable as well. The grills used did not produce a lot of smoke if you're concerned with that.
Only nitpicks from me would be that the tangsuyuk could be crispier, the serving for the lettuce can be larger initially (you can however ask for refills), and I am not sure if they intend to add any dipping sauce for the KBBQ (right now only salt seasoning is provided.)
I would love to come again if the place remains competitive in pricing.
As a fan of Korean cuisine, Jung Restaurant raises the bar with authenticity. My experience with the staff is best as described warm, sincere and welcoming.
