Walking up to the gate of Jurassic Forest you get a jurassic park vibe. Tall fences to keep all the dinosaurs in. The main entrance has a 20 foot t rex skeleton that is amazing. Lots to see and do for the kids with the dig site located in the middle of the walking trails. Dino bones poking out of the sand for kids to explore. Trails are divided into north trail and south trail. Dinosaurs activated by motion sensors which makes them come alive with sound and movement. This nature walk into the past. 65 million year or more. Is educational and exciting for all ages. Highly recommended to see and experience.

Jurassic Forest had been in my mind for a long time. And finally, I made it just before they closed for the season. The weather was great, as 99% of the time we are out doors, seeing real life size dinosaurs, walking the trails, playing mini golf, or digging up bones in the playground. Although we did not do the minigolf, we had a splendid time. Both my kids loved the time at Jurassic Forest. Well maintained boardwalks, with garbage bins at every other turn. Spaces to rest during the trail as well as have a snack while resting. We rented one of the wagons, which was also a highlight of the walk. There are 2 trails, South and North, with 2 separate entrances and exits. The crowd was decent at 10: 30am, the increased towards noon time. We stayed there for a good few hours, exploring the place. The entry fee and the wagon rental are reasonable priced. They have small picnic areas/benches around the playground and also have 2 bathrooms. Unfortunately, the outdoor snack bar had closed for the season. Thankfully, I had packed some snacks. Waiting for Spring/Summer when they open again. It's worth the visit.

Great place. Took my cousin and two nephews there. They enjoyed it very much. Then we went outside and caught salamanders. Hahaha uncle help them discover dinosaurs they can take home and care for

It is a good place for a visit with young kids, specially if they are interested in dinosaur. About 45mins driving from Edmonton South side to get there. We spent about just over an hour there to walked through the place, it was better than my expectation however, personally I think this is just a one time visit place only as the fee is slightly overpriced. There's a little shop inside where you could buy souvenir, I would suggest to bring your own food/snack & water as there's very little choice of snack available there.

Great outing, the sand pit was a hit for my 4 and 2 year old and loved the boardwalk, it kept keeping all the kids together easier
11 September 2023 18:25
It's more for kid but adult can enjoy it to. There is a lot of dinosaur in full size place in the wood that look cool to watch with noise and minor movement. There's playground for kids. I wasn't hungry so I am not sure if there's a lot of option for food.

Great place to take
Kids on a new and fun adventure through the Canadians trees. This place has all sorts of AI electronic Dinosaurs all over, and signs telling you what they are. I haven’t been in a few years so I can’t give 100% accuracy but it was a good time when I came.
28 August 2023 19:00
The Jurassic forest was an absolute treat, I've absolutely loved the atmosphere, the vegetation. Is gorgeous. But beware there is a lot of water there, meaning a lot of mosquitoes, you'll probably get bitten.
26 August 2023 19:00
The kids love it, but it is in need of some maintenance. Some of the motion detectors are not working, and several of the prehistoric beasts need repair. Some of the admission fees need to be reinvested in the park, in my opinion.
18 August 2023 11:32
This was such a great day for my two year old who is in love with Dinosaurs! Definitely worth going down both trails to see all the different kinds of dinos. Nice sand area with climbing and digging stuff.
05 December 2021 17:33
I really enjoyed taking our boys (5&7). My husband and I plan to go back on a date day to actually read everything
27 November 2021 13:33
Great walk, very stroller friendly. Moving dinosaurs were great for the kids! Not all the dinosaurs had description plaques, which was a little disappointing (hence 4 vs 5 stars). But at least they're always working to improve!
02 November 2021 22:25
Jurassic forest is more of a fun train trail to walk.not much to do except a mini golf course and small patch that they call it dino dig, it would be great if there were some more activities to do.also gift shop didnt had much to choose from over all good place to go for a quick out.
12 October 2021 22:01
It was a good time and fall is great time to go. We were there early and it was fun with the grandkids. We will go back
10 October 2021 22:33
Staff was friendly and helpful. Experience was awesome my kid had a blast. Not too expensive and close to the city. Got fairly busy but if you go right at open it's quiet.
03 October 2021 1:13
Fun, exciting place for kids. My niece loved it and asking to revisit, miss sitting area and better refreshment corner.
02 October 2021 12:47
My young (3 yrs & a 10 month old) Kids enjoyed it, didn't take long to see everything. Only downside was SO many wasps!
30 September 2021 5:27
Took the family to see the dinosaurs. It was really neat. They even added some new dinos. The kids had fun. They even have a mini golf course now.
29 September 2021 20:44
The animatronics are amazing, but if you want to read the information signs bring someone tall! I think the guy who installed them was 7ft tall cause I could not read half of them.
27 September 2021 13:15
Very nice place, with lots of potential. Kids definitely loved it.

The dinosaur's were pretty underwhelming really. They weren't even alive! (Jk).
They were a bit far away, and not very engaging (minimal movement and sound). I'd definitely pay more to get a bigger "wow" factor. Overall a neat experience.
19 September 2021 11:22
Great place to take the little ones, robot dinosaurs and a large "jurassic playground" for them to play at the end.
18 September 2021 17:14
Cool place for young children. Dinosaurs move their hands, head and some of dinosaurs you tails moved and made noise. Great place for kids 3+
17 September 2021 0:33
It was very informative and even I learned something. Something for everyone, and reasonable priced.
11 September 2021 18:40
Great place. Both kids loved it and so did Mom, Dad, and grandma. Will definitely be going back.
07 September 2021 16:42
What a great place! Suitable for any age, completely stroller and wheelchair accessible, nice and shady because it's mostly in the trees. There was so much to look at! The antimatronic dinos look so real set in the forest. The plants are just as interesting to look at, and there are tons of signs with information on everything. The preschooler loved the play area at the end and playing scientist and sweeping off fossils in the sand.
04 September 2021 0:44
Originally, I was thinking this was more of a family/childrens attraction but was still very keen on checking it out - and I'm glad we did! I was thoroughly surprised/pleased at how realistic the dinosaurs were!

Fantastic outing for family, friends or a date alike. They've installed sensors on the trails so you often hear the dinosaurs before you can see them which added an interesting element and fun game of 'who can spot the dinosaur first'! Also lots of information about local wildlife and vegetation on signs throughout the trails.
Big playground for the kids where they can also uncover 'dinosaur bones' under the sand.

The short trek from Edmonton is very much worth it!
30 August 2021 15:43
Was a fun little day trip with the family. Kids loved it and got so excited every time we found a new dinosaur. Very reasonable price for 1.5-2 hrs of entertainment.
30 August 2021 12:21
Really enjoyed our visit to this place! It felt like we were actually in a Jurassic Forest! There is a boardwalk in each of the two sections. The dinosaurs are very realistic. Most of them move and make noises and are set in scenes that make it even more realistic. There are info boards all over about the plants and animals of the area, as well as the dinosaurs. At the entrance there is a small museum, some dinosaur rides that work with loonies and a big sand area where kids can dig for bones and climb on dinosaurs. The parking lot is quite big. Will definitely be going back with my kids.
30 August 2021 1:36
Overall good place.spend 3 hours kids enjoyed. Need more bench and space to sit under shadow. Nothing upgraded dinosaur? Side as i visit again after 7 years.almost same but still kids enjoy so good to visit once
26 August 2021 23:57
Trails are great, some better maintenance of the wooden platform trail would help. Better maintenance of playground area, and more playground options would also help.
25 August 2021 17:42
The walking trails were awesome; the walking area would be better if it was a bit wider, so you can get around groups of people.
We had a wagon for our 2 kids, but walking the path, we passed a lot of people with strollers. The single strollers were easy to get by, but the double (side by side) strollers made it pretty tight.

The play area for the kids is big, it's great, lots of things for them to play with. Just wish there was more shade, it's pretty hot in that area. As long as they have sunscreen, you don't need to worry about it though. Or maybe if they added a splash park, that would be pretty awesome!

The canteen is small, but it's a good little spot to eat.

Gift shop is really cute, check out their keychains! They're freaking adorable.

On busy days, I wish they had more bathrooms. Just make sure you aren't busting by the time you get in line
14 August 2021 12:22
I was pleasantly surprised, the animation of the dinosaurs and the wooded area made the hike fun. Also impressed at how many people where there and we still had lots of space to enjoy the day.
12 August 2021 3:18
Lovely day. The dino collection has grown over the years. Don't think the insects are accurately sized but I could be wrong
06 August 2021 6:00
Great place to walk and spend couple of hours. Wish more slides or toys thr for kids to play with.
02 August 2021 23:49
Great experience the entire family loved it.

But make sure you prepay for a time. We got to the door after waiting in line for 30 minutes only to find out at the door that you need to buy tickets before entering.
29 July 2021 9:26
This place was way cooler than I thought it was going to be! Some of the dinosaur need a little fixing up, but overall it was a great afternoon with my kiddo and the dinos
26 July 2021 10:19
Had a resovation but still needed to wait in line for 20. First world problems I know but I timed it so my two young kids wouldn't have to wait.
09 July 2021 19:58
Booked a time slot for Friday mid morning! It was great and my 3 year old had a blast! Time slots work out good not being to busy the kiddo could enjoy the park!
06 October 2018 8:46
A must see for anyone.
Right outside Edmonton, a beautiful place with lots of parking.
Nature all around, wooden walkways all around, clean bathrooms, a huge sand playground with dinosaurs? For the kids to climb.

Also has a food concession, with lots of shade and tables for everyone.

Attached to the kids playground is also a mini golf for kids and grownups to have fun.

Very nice

This is a fine attraction just outside of Edmonton. It is very educational with ample signage with an attractive and consistent style. If you plan to be there at meal time be sure to pack a picnic because the concession is fairly sparse.
03 October 2018 16:43
Great place to bring kids who are interested in dinosaurs, fun way to spend a couple hours with your family
02 October 2018 13:19
Nicely laid out with good animatronic dinosaurs. Reasonable location and price for admission. The mini golf attraction at the side needs more maintenance as the balls frequently roll towards the side boundaries. Also the attraction seems to be needing a bit more maintenance of some signage and walk paths are starting to show signs of wear.
28 September 2018 20:26
Great center to have an understanding of what life would have been like during the Jurassic era. And staff is very friendly. Worth taking children to.
23 September 2018 2:06
Though its expensive they have everything you need. Wifi would help.

Thanks for commenting on my review. I don't know how I can reply. But I would think bundling the minigolf with admission could be cheaper.
22 September 2018 0:27
Went Monday for the first time.
Wonderful place to spend fun with the children.
The rides could be a bit longer for a buck. The children are just on then off.
So I hope they change that.
They need a fryer for fries.
20 September 2018 23:40
My two year old LOVED it (minus the scary spider at the beginning). This park has huge potential that I'm hoping with a couple more years under their belt they will explore. For us to travel 6 hours specifically for this, it fell a little bit short for me however. A couple more interactive things or expand the "playground" (which is basically just digging in sand to expose the dino bones).
This place is good value if bought as part of the Edmonton Attraction Pass.
19 September 2018 11:18
Amazing time with the kids. For $45 dollars for a family of 5 (2 adults 2 toddlers and an infant) there really isnt a better value than that. Great day trip from Edmonton as it is a short 30 minute drive. Highly reccomended.
19 September 2018 5:04
This has been something I had been wanting to do at the behest of my little monkey who has been wanting to visit the dinosaurs. For the longest time, I had no idea that this place even existed, so when the opportunity came, I packed the family and drove about 45 minutes (I live on the south side) where it is a few Km from Gibbons, AB.

From the moment I arrived at my destination, I was thoroughly impressed with the setup which modelled its design like the movie. Due to the circumstance that it was an absolutely gorgeous day, made the experience double the enjoyment. This place had everything a child from preschool to middle school would enjoy. The reception area had a mini-museum with actual skeletal fossils and animatronic heads of dinosaurs that would swivel its head, open its jaws and roar inches away from you. There is also a gift shop.

Next, you step out into the open area that includes both coin operated gyrating or stationary Dinos that provide fun and adventure for riding tots; a playground equipped with dinoesque slides and climbing apparatuses, a mini golf area, a picnic area, and a snack store.

Now the main event. The surrounding perimeter of the above description is the actual forest, where there is a simple trail that takes the person on an adventure to see the amazing life size animatronic dinosaurs, greenery (lots of attention and information is also dedicated to plant life to also indulge the future botanists), insects, and pterosaurs along this perimeter. Motion sensors trigger these giants to move there limbs and roar making the experience enjoyable. Along with each exhibit, there is a placard that provides descriptions of the prehistoric legends in regards to the time period they lived in, size, and other aspects.

With all this, there are some things to take notice: 1. Bring food-There is a snack bar which will give you necessities, but no epic dining experience. We packed a picnic basket with sandwiches, snacks and drinks and enjoyed ourselves. 2. Wear lots of bug spray-the raptors may not feast on you, but the mosquitoes will if you don't douse yourself with ample repellent. 3. There are washrooms, but they don't appear to accommodate large scores of people that frequent this place so beware.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience with my family as it was everything I hoped it would be for 40 dollars for the family for the day (I spent 85 dollars to spend an hour at taste of Edmonton for context). No, I was not convinced that I was on Isla Nublar, minutes away from being devoured by a Theropod, but it was the experience of my little one that makes me want to comeback before the summer ends.
04 September 2018 11:39
A bit cheesy but the kids seemed to enjoy. I wouldn't plan on spending a whole day here.but it's entertaining enough for an hour or two.

Never got a PDF file sent to me to print off my tickets so called and asked what to do, the lady on the phone talked I me like I was stupid but re sent me a file that worked. (Also think they should figure out a way to do mobile ticket scans for convenience of travelers) BUT other then that we had a blast! Almost all the Dino’s were working, kids ha lots of fun digging up bones in the sand and sounding out all the Dino’s names. There is a little picnic area off to the side that was cute and will definitely bring some subs next time for a picnic! There was a concession, toilets, mini golf, gift shop. And lots of seating for sitting down and having a meal. Ps. Bring bug spray! It is an actual forest so yes there is gonna be mosquitos.

Very nice place. Learned a lot. It is a great place for kids to go and learn about dinosaurs. There is a park and mini golfing as well.
21 August 2018 1:03
It’s an okay place to visit, only worth it if you go with kids like I did with my class. For the older kids, 6+, there’s not too much to do. It’s nice and scenic walking on the trails and finding dinosaurs but don’t go if it’s humid because even with a lot of heavy duty bug spray, the mosquitoes were everywhere! There is mini golf and some dinosaurs to climb but it’s a far drive when there’s not a lot to do. If you haven’t been before it could be interesting but between visiting times nothing changes and it’s all the same.
19 August 2018 16:55
Suprized at how well it is organized and how many dinosaurs there are! Great place to visit with the family.
18 August 2018 11:51
We had a great time and our older boys really enjoyed the visit. The line ups moved quickly and everyone who worked there was very helpful. Lots of interesting info about the local flora & fauna in addition to the dinosaur features.
18 August 2018 3:20
It's fun for an occasional visit, good for younger kids and families, but not a place i would go more than once a year. Could use beer:)
17 August 2018 17:11
Would be an awesome place to take kids, but even as an adult the kid in me loved it. Some displays are better than others but overall very neat place!
17 August 2018 16:55
Super fun place! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by fossils, and other interesting artifacts. Going outside they have mini golf, and a sand pit for kids to play and even uncover some fossils of their own. Then, the exhibits themselves, very easy to navigate. Just follow the wooden planked path through the forest and enjoy the cool dinosaurs they have throughout the trees. My son wouldn't stop talking about this place the rest of the week after we went. Considering getting a full membership here after our first visit, im sure we will be making the 40 minute drive to come here again.
08 August 2018 9:04
Very nicely layed out park that makes you feel like you are in Jurassic Park. The dinosaurs and other creatures are all animatronic and create a very unique environment. I wish they expanded the park adding in places to dig for fake bones or some kind of ride to simulate something you see in the Jurassic Park movies
07 August 2018 0:14
Little guy was scared until we started pointing out how similar the "dinosaurs" were to Dinotrux (childrens tv show). Anyways, tons of fun. Bring bug spray.
