Excellent place, excellent location with excellent service, meets all expectations of an excellent place

Three reason why I give this Marriott 1 star.

1: valet parking took (stolen) my coins in my car without permission/asking.
2: the pillow sucks, no support to my neck. Give us both stiff neck. ****
3: $120 for 2 person breakfast. In my opinion, not worth it.

Will not go back

Guess service agent were very unprofessional with the way they convey their concerns with the guests. They threatened us to leave the room as “there are too many people inside the room” due to noise but we actually rented 2 connecting rooms. Very disappointed with the service we had, we were looking forward to stay at this place to have a wonderful birthday staycation.

Overall stay was a great experience. All the staff we encountered were very friendly, helpful, and patient, which was much appreciated.

Beautiful brand new hotel! Lounge for club floor or platinum members was amazing - great food and great staff! Suite is huge and has an amazing view. The gym is nuts - its a 2 floors with every type of equipment imaginable - all brand new. If I ever come back to Edmonton I will stay again for sure!

This is the second time we had our Staff Development Seminar at this hotel. Really great event. Food was great, rooms lovely, staff friendly and helpful, cool location.

Excellent location for attending hockey game
It gets very busy game day so if you want to check in in peace come earlier than normal. They are very fast with the check-in process though. A bit of a lineup for elevators to get up to the room after a game. Goes quick. Decent self parking if you're early here enough on game day. A couple restaurants open nearby. But Ped-Way and options in it are pretty dead on a Sun. Dog friendly hotel. The room is comfortable, the bed comfy except the pillows are super soft. I wish they had firmer pillows. Would recommend especially for an event at Rogers Place. Access to the arena couldn't be easier. They did a great job with this building

Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. First time in Canada & impressed by service & enjoyed stay & proximity to Oilers stadium.

The hotel is beautiful. Really enjoy the lounge area; expensive drinks but that just is expected being the JW. If you stay the rooms are nice of course being new.

We went for expensive drinks and a cool vibe after a show to hang out in the popular lobby area. I feel like they need to remain open until at least 1 am. They are clearly busy and have the business to but last call is 11: 45. You can see patrons still coming in and being told it is closed. Then the lights get turned on as a clear indication to leave. I mean you have the means on a weekend to have business then do so. Also, with such a beautiful lounge they could add in some live entertainment like a piano or saxophone with modern music.

This is rating as one of the best Marriotts I've ever stayed at. Location is connected to everything downtown, the gym is for pro hockey NHL teams that stay there, but you can use all the equipment, compression socks, balance boards and massagers. It's beyond a gym. Service and food are the great Marriott standard and your car comes out of a warm garage each day. Love all the perks. Executive lounge on the top floor.

Have to pay for everything even the water bottles in the room. Asked for a shuttle to the airport and they told me to take a cab. Then they told me they don’t give Government rates when the Oilers game is on. Seriously very prejudice staff.

Can't beat the location when you're in town for some Oilers madness! Added perk of running into players before the game.

Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful 2-night stay for our anniversary. They made our stay very special and personalized and provided tons of free amenities that other hotels would charge extra for, such as the handcrafted ice and the surprise anniversary package of Prosecco and dessert (photos attached). On the second day not only did they clean up but they rearranged the decoration we put in the room which was super thoughtful. The gym has two floors and I was very impressed at how equipped it was for a hotel. The food was amazing too. We had the tacos and Turkey club for lunch and bolognese and prime rib + oysters and truffle fries for dinner. This is the best Marriot we’ve stayed at!

Beautiful & modern hotel. By far the best hotel downtown Edmonton has to offer. The drinks at the Lobby Bar are excellent, and the pedway to the Roger's Centre is super convenient. Fantastic staff as well.

Poor customer service. Staff were snobby and classists. And the rooms did not provide anything that will justify its price. Overall, bad experience.

We stayed during our 6 year old daughters birthday. Staff including doormen was super friendly, when we came back to the room after dinner the front staff i believe her name is "Girly" even surprised my daughter with a dessert and a handwritten birthday card. The room and pool/changing areas were clean. Room service was quick and no complaints on the food. If I were to nitpick, the bathroom is smaller than we expected as it only allows room for one person which is harder to move around when helping my daughter. Also direction to self parking isn't very clear as we spent 25 minutes trying to find it after talking to front staff and figuring out which floor and area to park at. Overall, great experience!

It was my first time staying at JW and the hotel and my husband made the stay extra special. The room is very clean and modern, my favourite part is the shower, which had strong water pressure and the bed, very comfortable! The executive lounge had daily afternoon snacks, all very yummy and made our stay extra enjoyable.

Stayed in an executive corner suite on the 22nd floor which was absolutely amazing. Very high level of service which you would expect when booking this room category. Staff were great, friendly, and accommodating. Requests were attended to promptly. Room was clean, spacious, and well appointed. We enjoyed the food/snacks/drinks in the executive lounge, and the pool was also very nice.

Most favorite place in Edmonton! Relaxed ambiance, magnificent amenities, awesome services and wonderful staff! Need not say more. My first time staying here and I know this will be my go-to when visiting the city for business or vacation

One of my favourite Marriott Properties. I often stay in premium brand properties, but the level of service I received on a recent work trip was second to none. I was assisted through out my stay by the in house concierge service — I have never been one to take advantage of this perk, I don’t know I can ever go back! Ludovic was extremely helpful in my quick 48 hour visit — setting up reservations and appointments, going as far to have a full shaving kit brought to my room while I was dining. Highly recommend treating yourself to an experience at this property!

We were visiting Banff and Jasper & on our way back home we planned to stay with Marriott to celebrate our son’s first birthday. The staff was courteous and polite, which made the whole experience memorable. Preeti on the reception was fabulous, the moment she got to know that it’s our son’s birthday, we had some pleasant surprises waiting for us in our room. Thank you for making the stay special.

Would stay at his hotel anytime I am in Edmonton it was a beautiful hotel connected to the arena with underground parking connecting.

Rooms are always spotless and the service is amazing. Special thanks to Paola from Front Desk, she always makes me feel welcome and she makes the checkin process is so smooth and stress free whenever I visit. The gym is also.

From check in to check out, all service was the best. Rohit is an absolute gem, all the staff are. Food was outstanding and we had a swim and a soak in the hot tub. We felt like VIPs. Definitely coming back.

Conveniently nestled within the ICE (Entertainment) District the JW Marriott Edmonton is aesthetically sophisticated and gorgeous. The staff are approachable and very helpful - huge thanks to the team. The restaurants are also something else - the setting, the service and the food are sensational.

My review is strictly related to my experience with booking my wedding venue. Firstly, I called the hotel and was given a phone number to contact the correct personnel. I called and the person on the other line seemed stressed/rushed & it was so noisy - almost as if they were in a work meeting when answering. Following our phone conversation, Christina Law went on to email me some information about the venue. We were emailing each other for about over a week & I decided that I wanted to book an appointment to come view the venue prior to paying the deposit/signing a contract. She mentioned that she will send me floor plans and asked a few more questions via email: buffet vs plated diners etc. I emailed her back with my answers & I never heard back from her ever again, its been a month. No follow up, no floor plans. Wedding planning is already stressful & time consuming. There is no need to ghost a potential customer halfway through planning. This shows a lack of professionalism, poor communication skills & a complete disregard of my time. If this is the experience with just booking the venue - I cannot even imagine how the rest would of had unfolded.

The staff goes out of their way to be friendly you need nothing when you stay here great place to stay.

Tolles Hotel, begehbare Duschen, tolle Aussicht aus dem Whirlpool auf das Rogers Place, kurze Wege in die Stadt. Sehr empfehlenswert

Blamed for harassing colorado avalanche players while we were stood up waiting for the elevator. We were told we couldn't stand up and look at players and if we did, security would be called. At this point we seen about a half a dozen colorado players. We never opened our mouths, just looked on and never approached or said either ones names. Nobody from the hotel even opened their mouths to support us. If the players don't want to be looked at and admired by true hockey fans, maybe they shouldn't stay in this hotel.

Amazing hotel connected to Rogers Place. The lounge gets busy after an event but the drinks are worth waiting. Hotel gym is by far the best hotel gym I have seen.

This hotel did not plan for the fact that it was attached to a stadium where very famous people come to perform. I paid too much money for this type of experience. I’d give them no stars if I could.

Disappointing & tarnish to their reputation.

Excellent hotel, service and ambiance. Customer service was top notch. The concierge who checked us in greeted us by our names everytime we came to/from the hotel. We got special treats, room upgrade!

For someone who is used to exuberant parking fees, my only contest is that they only provide valet parking, no self parking.

Other than that, this hotel is a true reflection of JW Marriott, as well as Canadian hospitality. The flavored ice was a nice touch. Will definitely book a stay here again if we come by to Edmonton!

My partner and I have been planning to do something different for our anniversary this year. Typically we would go out to eat somewhere glamorous to treat ourselves but this year we wanted to book a couple nights in a hotel, somewhere with a view.
I did some research on JW Marriott and decided it would be a good idea to pop in to view a guest room in person, as all of the photos I could find of any room looked very similar and lacked shots of the bathroom.
We specifically dropped by JW Marriott on our day off and asked the front desk if it was possible for us to view the 'king size guest room' which I had been given an estimate of around $190/night on the phone when I had called the day before. The first thing customer service did after greeting me was hand me a business card and tell me to book an appointment. Ummm.
I've never had to do that before and I've stayed at 5-star hotels and resorts but the person I am respects that every business has their own process and I will book my appointment, and I will see this room, and my partner and I will have a great anniversary.
Before I left I quickly mentioned that I couldn't find many pictures of the guest room I was interested in and was wondering if they had any at hand (or on their computers) they could show me. The same person who handed me the business card smiled at me and simply said, "it's best if you talk to our sales rep. The rooms look much better in person"
At this point I genuinely believed he was lacking training, given everything he's said to me so far had zero substance or basic information.
Partner and I drove over to Fantasy Land immediately afterwards and were viewing their executive king suite within minutes of arriving. It was pricier than JW Marriott's 'king room' but there was a personal 4-person hot tub in the room. My partner was basically sold once he laid eyes on the hot tub. Men.
We nearly booked right then and there but I really wanted to check out JW Marriott atleast. When we got home I called the sales rep on the business card who was so very polite but I quickly realized she only helps with banquets and events. We both put 2 and 2 together and realized that front desk made a mistake and typically we should have been shown the guest room when we were physically at the hotel, simple as that.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm salty because our time was wasted. It would be a different story if they were busy and had no rooms available to show us, but front desk told us, word for word that they were currently '50/50' which meant half their rooms were vacant.
I feel inclined to believe that front desk was more interested in chatting with one another rather than taking initiative to assist a potential customer, or who knows, maybe even a potential client one day.
My partner and I decided to book with Fantasy Land today. It would have been nice to experience JW Marriott but we have self respect and value our time. I hope that moving forward, your representatives, who get paid to make us feel welcome, don't only prioritize pushing business cards and fake smiles. Cheers!

So the building, service, staff etc. Were all top notch, very enjoyable stay. Only gripe is that both times I ordered room service they did not have the item I wanted. Small thing, but it is a luxury hotel so that shouldn’t happen in my opinion

This hotel is incredible! Nice addition to ice district. We will definitely be back for a staycation during hockey season!

Piece of garbage fridge didn't work, ice took 43 minutes to get already stains on the couch coffee maker was bone dry b so I had to use a $5 bottle of water to fill it up on top of the $388 that I paid for the room they keep saying they're coming up to check on things it's been 2 and 1/2 hours and not a soul has come upstairs ice very suggest go to the Delta suites Marriott

Treated very well right from the beginning. Lounge is very nice! Expensive drinks but well worth the customer service. Modern rooms and close to Rogers and the casino. Had a great date night and will go again.

Everything is fancy price ain't bad only beef i had was all down town construction the main road to hotel was blocked and don't know city well enough downtown core crazy busy to try navigate. Id recommend staying here when Finnish all construction or take a cab save yourself headache

Lively and upscale hotel in the heart of downtown Edmonton's ICE District. Incredibly attentive and helpful staff. Walking distance to dozens of restaurants and downtown attractions. Great destination in a convenient location for business travellers or for a weekend getaway.

Visited Braven restaurant for dinner with friends. Food and service was excellent and the pace of the meal was very relaxed.

Food selection is steak, chicken and seafood. The chicken is quite good and has a nice hint of smoke. Great selection of cocktails and fairly extensive wine list.

What was interesting and cool after the meal is the lobby area of the hotel. At the end of the meal, the lobby was full of people having drinks and there was a deejay providing music.

Very nice and new property. Construction out front makes it hard to drive to for right now. I found the room small, but very nicely outfitted.

Beautiful hotel, staff is exceptional on the service side. I had a spa experience with Guy and he was incredible, and so professional and warm. Would definitely recommend the spa here, the best experience I’ve had in Edmonton by far. As well, special thank you to Nicole at the spa concierge, you started my experience off wonderfully and set the mood for luxury and relaxation.

Staff are incredibly courteous and professional. The room was gorgeous and the food we ordered from room service was delicious. Will be staying here again!

I brought my boyfriend here for our date night, we did the couple's massage and went out for dinner and ordered some room service wine. My only real complaints are that they included gratuity in the massages so it went from 450 to 620, and I thought that was a bit much, I certainly would never typically give a $170 tip for an 80 minute massage. And then when I ordered us wine she took about twenty minutes to take the order, my boyfriend fell asleep, and then they brought up the wrong wine anyway. I wouldn't bother going back, but it wasn't awful.

My wife and I celebrated our twentieth anniversary here this August. We live locally but thought we would spend the weekend exploring downtown as tourists. What a great choice. This brand new hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Our room was modern and large and provided all the necessities.

The staff are friendly and helpful as well.

One tip, leave the car at home. Parking is available in the vicinity but only valet is available in the building for $50 a night.

It’s open today it is the grand opening August 1,2019. It’s a fantastic hotel. JW Marriott brand is the high end brand of the Delta Hotels. This will be a great addition to downtown Edmonton.its opening was delayed for several months. I haves been watching this hotel being built from the beginning so I am excited to see its opening.

The hotel will be opening over 5 months late. We booked our room in October 2018 and our reservation for August is now likely in jeopardy. <br/>No communication from Marriott as the hotel kept getting delayed longer and longer.
