Kal Tire

I've been a customer of Kal Tire for years, recently I stopped in at the crowfoot location around noon to have a couple of wheels switch tires (I provided tires and wheels loose).
I'd ask for new valve stems installed and that the red marker on the tire line up with the new valve stem. At 530 I stopped in to pick them up - not ready.
They claimed they were too busy to get to them and typically they need 3 days to do the work. They promised them for the next morning.
I received a call stating wheels are ready to be picked up, went down to get them and discovered no new valve stems, no cap on the old valve stems, and the red marker on the tire was on the inside of the wheel. All that for $90!
For a company that built their business on tire service, much has changed.
There are plenty of other tire shops in Crowfoot, I'll be visiting them in the future.

If you need an alignment and have a lift kit on you truck or car avoid Kaltire.
They are not gonna ask you if you do have one or figure it out themselves, they are gonna take your car in.adjust it to the factory specs and give it back to you with visibly cambered wheels, which means the alignment is basically useless.
Kaltire you could ask maybe people if they have any modifications on their cars, instead of taking their money and do basically nothing.

My winter tire swap (Nov 2023) started on time, ended on time, the work was done flawlessly and the price was fair. What more could I possibly want for tire service from a tire shop?

The customer service was good. But I think there was an issue with the price since I didn't get a discount for SAIT employees (10%). The clerk officer told me that this discount is for the items purchases not for the mechanical services. This is not true based on what I find on my work website where mechanical services are included in the discount.
Another thing, they did a wheel alignment for my car (cost CAD 150). Once I drove the car after the alignment, the car was shaking a lot which scared me.the shaking still exists in the car after one week of the service.
Please guide me in this matter since they did not tell me that your car will have some shaking after alignment. Please notice before the service, the car was driving smoothly.

Ted was so helpful with me buying my new winter tires. He even came out to look at my vehicle to make sure the rims would look good!

My husband and I have both taken our vehicles here a couple times for basic tire services and each time there has been some issue with the vehicle after or something hasn't been completed.

I drive my car to this location for a brake flued fluch, I don't have any issue with the brakes. After fluching, the brake pedal was going all the way down, they said the issue is the rear driver side caliper.
After replacing it they still couldn't set up the brakes properly. After all day working on it they said that I have to take it to the dealership.
Because isn't safe to drive it like that I had to tow it till the dealership.
So, I drive my car perfectly working to that shop and towed it from there to the dealership.
My car got fixed at Shaganappi GM, but instead to pay $155 for a simple brake flush, they make me pay $420 (dealership) + $130 (tow)

The Assistant Manager Ted Sell was 10/10 today. He got us in within 1/2 hr and diagnosed our issue immediately and let us know our options with no pressure to commit immediately. He’s very trustworthy and we we very impressed. We have been dealing with Kal Tire for years and will continue to do so based on the awesome team and employees like Ted. We’ll done!

Went to get 4 new Nokian tires for my car. They have a decent deal on right now till May 6 FYI. Jeff helped me and he was really friendly. They had very fast service, done within 1.5 hrs.price is competitive, just ask them what they can do for you and be polite about it.

Had a good experience here getting new tires installed, mounted and balanced. The techs were friendly and explained the warranty coverage well, making sure I get the most out of my new tires.

The appointment took less time than anticipated and it was nice having a desk there to get work done while I waited. Great service.

Kal Tire staff at Crowfoot literally saved my bride-to-be life. After I got a flat tire and blew my rim (worst timing 6 days before my wedding), these guys fit me, promptly ordered and replaced my rim and sorted out my tire situation. I feel they saved the day - superheroes in full. Thanks to the lovely gents at the front desk for remaining so calm while I explained everything and for making sure I got on the road as quickly as possible. I will never stop going to Kal Tire as long as their staff is this exceptional. Thank you!

I’ve been taking my car here for seasonal tire changes and have been pretty satisfied with the service. I’ve also had a tire repaired for a puncture and the fix was good. Wheel alignment has also been done to good standards. Staff has been very helpful and friendly and they complete the job in a timely manner.

Kal tire at crowfoot has very good customer service. I got a nail in my tire and went to several places to fix this problem but they said its not repairable and offer me new tire.finally I went to Kal tire at crowfoot and they fixed my flat tire.exceptional customer service.

Been switching my tires here for a few years and never had an issue. Usually done between 60-90 minutes.

Very professional and honest. Needed substantial and expensive repairs to my cars suspension. They were able to provide excellent service and extensively priced matched parts to ensure quality was not sacrificed for price.
Definitely recommend this place.

On a day where I had no time, the team at Kal Tire made time for me.

I was 1/2 down the driveway and saw the low pressure alert. $&@“! It! Once that was out of my system I made the call. The agent was the friendly voice I needed. She asked me about the issue, where the puncture was and gave a time they could get me in. I said I’d be there in 10 minutes.

Coming into the shop it was clean and the same agent greeted me hello. The check in process was seamless and the patch on the tire was done in the time quoted. They even text updates if you get a quick coffee like I did. In the store while waiting I saw them give the same friendly customer service to others like they gave me.

Anyway my time to check out came up pretty much bang on for the estimate given and I was on my way.

I know it may sound like a bunch of fluff but when your vehicle goes down it was huge that they had my back, there were no surprises and I was pretty much in and out.

Took over 2 weeks for them to order standard rims for my winter tires. Afterwards they didn't fit my bolt pattern and started to blame my vehicle and their supplier. Told me to come back next Monday and they would throw them on for me with the correct rim. Tuesday they call me that they have it done and when I asked them to replace my spare I've been on this entire time they said no we would have to book an appointment for that. It's one tire I asked for them to do since they screwed me around so much I thought it was the least they could do. Inconsistant and rude employee I had to deal with. Definitely don't recommend this kaltire to anyone ever!

Blew a tire on construction debris and limped in with my two children and a serious cut/flat. They didn’t have the tire I needed but threw my donut on and supplied some options that kept me moving. Oh… and they didn’t charge me anything! These guys care about their customers and people in distress… amazing in times like these! ️️️

Jeff, the Asst Manager was amazing! I am so grateful. I was literally on my way to visit my gramma at the hospital when my tire started to go flat. I drove up, went inside and Jeff and the team fixed the tire. I was on my way again within 45 min. They have my business for life! Thanks Jeff and the guys who repaired my tire!

Jimmy from Kal Tire helped me with a slow leak (screw in my tire). The technician actually found another screw in a different tire (driver side front), when I had a screw I. The passenger side front tire. They were able to fit me in a d able to repair the 2 tires as I waited in their seating area. They also have desks with electrical plugs where I was able to use my laptop to complete my morning work while my tires were repaired as I waited.
. But wait, the kicker here is, Jimmy did not charge me a dime, they repaired the front passenger tire as quoted when I called, and also repaired the front driver side tire where there was also a screw/nail that I did not know about. When it came time to pay, he refused payment and had already closed the work order for the repairs. WOW! When does this ever happen? !? ! I was in the waiting lounge for close to an hour and can overhear the discussions with clients in/out. Their a very honest repair shop, their not fleecing clients with "needed" repairs and suggest and recommend as needed, or when needed. Very honest repair shop, I am 1000% comfortable with bringing my car to this location for repair work, they don't just do tires. But if they can't do it, they will tell you honestly upfront.

Jimmy from Kal Tire at this location was able to help me with a flat tire, I ran over a screw. Very professional and efficient service. They were able to repair as I waited. Would definitely return again.

Edit: Received a call from the location. Apparently there was some confusion with whoever I talked to on the phone on Saturday as they do alignment checks etc.throughout the day with no appointments needed. I always appreciate when management reaches out to fix or work through a negative experience! Original review below (3 star)

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Seemed welcoming and nice. I bought a pair of all weathers. They slotted me in two weeks out which was fine for me as it was peak tire changing season. Tech said it would take 1 hour max. It took 1.5 hours which was fine I guess. Unfortunately they weren't able to get to the wheel alignment though despite going over time. The guy said to come tomorrow and they can finish up the wheel alignment quickly. Well I called and they're only able to slot me in next week. Unfortunately I work the whole day and am unable to waste another two hours getting something done which should have already been done at the first appointment. Now I have to wait until next weekend to come in and get the alignment done. Unfortunate as they seem like a nice group of people. If something was supposed to be done during a single appointment, it would be nice if they pushed to have it fixed as a priority to ensure a positive experience. It is inconvenient to have to come in twice, let alone not have it done asap. Will edit depending on how smooth this alignment appointment goes next week or if they reach out to fix this.

I went there today to get my annual tire changeover (all-seasons to winters). I had booked an appointment, and if you're thinking about the same thing I would suggest you do likewise. The guys on the counter were great and was checked very quickly. I was done within about an hour, paid my bill and was out the door. One of the counter guys noted to a customer that they were shortstaffed, but that didn't affect their professionalism and general good nature. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for service work, or just tires for their vehicle!

Got my winter tires changed over 2 days ago at Crowfoot.
They sent me home with my truck with wheel nuts and a hubcap missing.
Told me to go buy my own wheel nuts and fix it myself.
Complained to store staff and they said sorry.
They were nice enough to come over and put my hubcap on.

No reason to ever go back, as there are 4 other tire shops within one block of this place.

Spend your money elsewhere.

Just changed my tires here. Didn't have any issues so far. Process was smooth and quick. Also checked my brakes without me having to ask. I am happy.

Dropped off my Audi S3 to change some tires as I had a puncture. At 7: 30am this morning I dropped off my car and by 8: 40am they had the tire replaced and I was able to pick it up before I went to work. Helped me out massively!

I like the store and the service they provide BUT they should immediately tank their online booking system since it asks for all your information up front then at the last step wants you to provide your credit card information to " prevent fraud". C'mon- fraud happens when large databases of (your) information get hacked and pulled into bad actors hands. If you don't want to provide your credit card information, You cant even chat your way around it because the scripted response is the detailed security information (including your security code that card issuers never want you to give out) is needed to prevent fraud. So you call the store- as I sit here now typing this, I am 12: 26 into the call and listening to the recording pitch me on the wisdom of booking online and that the counter people are busy helping others- I have been in those stores and its hard to believe based on that experience that the staff is that busy for that long- now 14: 23 and still holding.
While I'm waiting let me introduce a straw poll to anyone reading these solicited reviews- does anyone else feel concerned when an automated system, over which you have no control, wants your very sensitive credit card or banking information and you have no idea who or how that data gets used, viewed or abused by the company? Is it even the company asking or worse yet is it a service or third party program they pay for to streamline their business. Its not about service for you, its for them. How di=o they even pay for such a service/ who benefits from them having your information. You? Nope.

Jimmie has a great team; very efficient and helpful. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for good service in a friendly environment.

First class customer service, today on the way home I noticed I had a front tyre going flat I needed to make it back to the shop I work at so i could fix it I was passing Kal Tyre and asked if it would be possible to add a shot of air to get me on my way. The service writer there directed me to the rear of the shop where one of the techs stopped what he was doing topped up my tyre to get me on my way, first class service guys very much appreciated.

I had driven to Calgary from Red Deer to purchase a vehicle and once I arrived in Calgary the seller had a spare tire on the back of the car. When I phoned Kal Tire with only 5 minutes till closing, the manager (Jimmy Waugh) told me to hurry down and they would stay open to get a whole new set of tires on for me. The crew stayed late and had my new tires on within 20 minutes and I was out the door. This team went above and beyond and it's rare to find this type of customer service these days. Good experience with this place, I needed a flat tire repair, and they took me in the same day. Price was under $40 while Jiffy Lube was charging $70. Fast service and friendly staff also

Called to book after moving cities, and let me tell you I've found my Calgary place! Jimmy was able to get me in WITHIN the week (during the November rush) for winter tires. Had me in and out within a couple hours for both vehicles, and two sets of Nokian winter tires for a great price.
This is the place to go!

Had a couple hiccups and honest mistakes getting truck tires thrown on. With that being said, Jimmy the manager was top notch in finding an acceptable resolution and worked thinks out for us in a timely manner.

I had a flat today and despite the short notice, not only were they able to replace the tire for me within a half hour, the staff were so friendly and helpful! I also hadn't realized that because I had purchased the tires there, the coverage for replacement and flat repair was so amazing! Thank you so much for your help and for getting me in so fast!

I called them this afternoon about bringing in a set of tires on rims to have new winter tires put on the rims. On the phone they said to bring them in that afternoon. I arrived there about 30 minutes later to drop off the rims and they said I had to make an appointment for next week to drop off the rims. Completely different than what I had been told over the phone.

Update after reply below. Yes I am dealing with the Kal tire in Cochrane now because it was the location in crowfoot is the one that gave me problems, forcing me to go somewhere else.

First time ever at a KAL Tire. I used to always get my winter tires at dealerships. But, I wanted to finally give the Nokians a try since they've been promoted as being THE WINTER tires to get. This branch of KAL Tire is amazing. I got there at 10.24AM, got a call that my Subaru was ready at 11.10AM. Talk about lightning fast service for new winter tire installation. The folks who helped me were amazing and they were true to their word on the precautions taken due to COVID. Masks and proper PPE all around for customer peace of mind. KAL Tire's got me as a customer for life so long as they always have great, friendly people!

Above and beyond! Saved us when we needed a tire patched the same day when no one else would squeeze us in. Not to mention being understaffed because of COVID restrictions. And they accept AMA! I'll always recommend Kal Tire.

Put winter tires on car in spring. Drove all summer with winter tires! Not happy about mistake. Changed rims from one set of tires to the other and replaced winter tires with winter tires!

This is one of the worst managed branch in Calgary. The manager was so rude with me. I complained to the customer service, but I received a call from his regional manager, who used same rudeness. No surprise. I will never go to this branch, and will stop dealing with Kal Tire due to bad customer service. Costco will be my shop for all my tire chances from now on. Better front service before and after the sale, great customer service to support your request.

Friendly and professional service. I always go here because of all the perks related to tire balancing/rotation, and hassle free warranty. Remember to show your AMA membership, because they don't remind you.

I got a screw in my tire yesterday and needed it dealt with immediately, I call the guys and they booked me in right away and had the work done in an hour, and that is great customer service, they could tell I needed it done so they bumped up my appointment, thanks guys!

Super big thank you to Dustin and Jimmy at this location. I've been pretty rough on my tires lately and not only did they order me some new ones and get me in at the earliest possible time, but they were actively helpful with what I needed to do to fix my car problems. Most places will provide the bare minimum service and get you out as soon as possible but Dustin actually pulled me aside as they were working on my car and showed me an issue that I never would have noticed that was greatly affecting the longevity of my rear right tire. I didn't feel pressured to spend any more money, just better informed which was really refreshing. And! I learned that Kal Tire doesn't just do tires so while I was there they gave me an alignment, and an oil change on zero moments notice which spared me the extra running around today that I thought I was going to have to do. Thanks for helping me out, thanks for feeding me donuts while I waited, and I'll definitely be back.

Very happy with the service I received today from start to finish. Easy to follow process to get appointment settled in due to current events. Got new summer tires from them and took them less than quoted time to complete. Jamie or Jimmy (I forgot oops) in the beginning went above and beyond when I thought I would receive free installation and he quickly adjusted it in the work order and Tracy showed excellent customer service explaining warranty and services covered by Karl-Tire when I went to pay. You guys have won me over for all future needs over Costco.

Kal tire was awesome, fantastic customer service. Dustin in particular was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I understood everything. I will be going back to Kal tire for all of my vehicle’s needs.

I just had an exceptional experience at Kal Tire. This is my second visit to this site and both were excellent. This time, I arrived for my 4pm appointment for a tire exchange only to discover that I only *thought* I had booked an appointment, I hadn't actually done it. Dustin moved some things around on the spot and fit me in (way above and beyond). My tires were done in under an hour. The front desk staff (Riley, Tracy and Dustin) were all super awesome with a fun conversation across the room for social distancing. And bonus.they double torqued my tires so I don't need to come back for a retorque. Exceptional service two visits in a row. Highly recommend.

I went in as soon as they opened (8am) today without an appointment as I had a screw in my tire that needed to get patched. I knew they were busy as they had a line up of people waiting to be helped as well as most of their service Parking stalls were full of people waiting to be helped as well.

With this current pandemic situation, I also couldn’t physically walk in the store and so I had to call in and asked if they can help me with my emergency situation.

Jimmy was able to squeeze me in without an appointment and they managed to patch me tire within an hour!

I bought my set of tires from Kal Tire and so I also wasn’t charged for the service either.

I’ve gone to this location a few months ago as well to get an oil change (also without an appointment) and they were able to help me out quickly as well.

Needless to say I am very impressed with this location and would definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

I got my wheels alignment done here, I back again because the alignment wasn't perfect they fixed it for free and now everything fine.they were very fast everything done an hour

I cannot comment on the service once in the shop, but the reason for my 1 star is that I called asking for a Costco price match and I was told they would if I emailed the Costco details. They never responded even after I sent a second email.
I wanted to give my business to a shop in my community, but I should not have to chase them down, so Costco got my business.

Really went above and beyond to give me the most cost effective service; from calling different stores to have the tires delivered without cost to a generous partial warranty coverage. Jimmy and Riley were a pleasure to deal with!
