First of all, they never answer their phones. I had to go there in person to get a quote and book an appointment for 4 brand new studded tires. I waited 2 hours for them to mount tires on rims I provided. They moved the tpms for me and replaced the valve stems. However when my vehicle was ready, they told me that the batteries in my tpms are low and will need to be changed if the light comes on. I waited for my vehicle… why wouldn’t they mention that while it was in the shop? The very next day, the monitors stopped working. 2.5 months later, I got an irreparable puncture in my brand new tire and they once again were not answering their phone. I had to take my business elsewhere to get my tire replaced and this is when I learned that the whole tpms have to be replaced. Not just the batteries. So I am out $500 for a brand new tire also having to pay additional labour elsewhere to do work that they could have done while they were working on my vehicle.
It would be great if they answered the phone. Don't waste time trying to call later or at different times - they expect you to drive to them in-person for communication.
Impossible to get ahold of, booked online for new tires and an alignment. Got a confirmation email for both services, show up on the day to get the work done and am informed that the alignment has to be rebooked for a week later as the online booking somehow doesn't confirm both services? However that makes any sense. So I now had to go back a second time with a ride and waste another hour of my time. Not to mention while there they are incredibly slow, 1 or 2 people up front, stand in line for 20 minutes.incredibly inefficient. Would not recommend using them, did speak with the manager after the fact who offered an apology, not looking for an apology without some form of discount, looking for the service that I booked. And by the looks of most of the other reviews this place needs some work management and service wise.
Called 12 times over 3 days and no one picked up the phone. Went into the store and stood there for 20 minutes while everyone stood around drinking coffee and doing nothing. Left and went to fountain tire down the street and was helped immediately, got an appointment the next day and saved 50 dollars. Fix your reception problems and you may keep your customers.
Customer service is god awful. Called four times and no answer, came to the location and the phone was ringing none stop with two people at the counter and only one person actually helping someone. Service is fine.
A friend of mine took their tires and rims in to be mounted after an hour and a half they called back saying they couldn’t do it. Not only did they forget to give back a hub cap and the sensors they also damaged two of the rims.
We called monday morning about a flat tire and we were told if we brought it in it would take 1-3 hrs and guaranteed by the end of the day, so we took my tire in at about 9-930. I called them at 330 to be told it's not done and it'd be done by the next day, total bummer because I needed my vehicle to drive to Edmonton that evening for a doctors appointment early the next morning and had made plans to pick up a large package. Luckily we're a 2 vehicle household but with having made the plans to pick up this package not having my tire in time made it a totally inconvenience because i had to try jam a huge box into the back of an suv. I wasn't able to get ahold of them the next day while still in the city or on the way home and anytime I could get through they would put me on hold for it just to time out or be hung up on (whichever it was). Also this is the second tire we've taken in of mine that the sensor was broken off and not fixed but atleast the told us with the first tire. Would absolutely not recommend kal tire unless you're into having bad experiences.
My experience here was fantastic with the help of the employees, especially Mark G. He was very patient, knowledgeable and answered all my questions thoroughly.
Plenty selection of tires, prices and good recommendations for Fort McMurray and surrounding areas.
Even though they were very busy, they managed to work with their team to get the service done well and quick while being professional and making the experience comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Highly recommend and will definitely be back for some winter Nokian tires!
They lie over the phone when you call them and ask if are there any technicians available to replace the tire, they say yes even after you explain to them and when you arrive they tell you to wait two hours. Lady at the front desk wasn't as kind as she should be with customers and their yard is such a mess full of snow so it's hard to back up a super b train I won't even mention trying to turn around.
Absolute rubbish service. Booked tire swap for 4: 30 they didn't get my car in until 5: 30, and then they didn't bag tires - just threw them into car unbagged. No apology or discount. Never going here again. Avoid!
The Fort McMurray location has amazing staff. I have been coming here for 12 years and the service is always exceptional. The team worked a long day on October 19th, when I was having a winter tire changeover involving new tires. It was already extremely busy and they were behind schedule with my appointment, and a miscommunication meant my tires were not ready to go by the time I had to head back to work. However, the techs caught the issue and the supervisor had me come back when I was done my workday—after hours, for them—to finish the work. They even arranged a discount on the installation, and honoured an October manufacturer rebate even though I'd purchased the tires weeks before, as a goodwill gesture for the delays. Everyone I dealt with offered excellent communication and customer service. Thank you all for working such long hours to get things right. Looking forward to testing my new winter Nokiens when the snow flies!
They are always busy but take there time with each customer fully.great service always this used to be true when I bought a set of tires 4 years ago now understaffed underpaid the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing it seems to be going other way of everyone else
This is not a heavy truck tire repair shop! I thought it was. I have a low tire I need to top up. They did not have one mechanic or tire tech in the shop that could top it up and they would not let me do it myself. They were not able to repair it either. Thanks for nothing! This is not the first time I’ve had very poor service here.
Book before you drop off your vehicle. I think they may be appointment only now. Maybe better for both parties. They can plan there resources and work load and the customer knows when it will be done. Just need to communicate this change. Hours of operation is shorter then I remember 8 to 5. I recall 7 to 6. All in it was a great experience thanks Kal Tire.
James is best tire guy in town. I was stuck and no one would help me remove a hitch and James jumped right at it and got it done. Twice now he has gone above and beyond. I won't go anywhere else because of him
Showed up at the tire shop with a flat tire. On a Tuesday and was told that they weren’t booking and couldn’t fix my tire until next Monday. I guess if you’re not buying tires are spending large amounts of money here they don’t want your business on willing to help.
I ordered wheels and winter tires on September 20,2021. I was given an ETA of less than 2 weeks. On four separate occasions I tried calling to get a status update on my order but nobody answered the phone. Today, October 21, I went to Kal-tire in person. The phones were ringing non-stop and not once were they answered while I waited for someone to help me. I was told that the tires I had ordered are on backorder. There was no mention of a backorder prior to my visit. They have essentially wasted a month of my time waiting, while I could have used that time to source out winter tires that aren't on backorder, or by going through a different company to order tires. I have been using Kal-tire for 20 years and the last two times I've used them for wheel/tire service, they have been unprofessional. It's time to do business with a different tire company.
Horrible service, they will not answer the phones. Nothing gets done in a timely manner. Took my car to fountain tire they did my car in 3 hours which is something kal couldn’t do in 3 days that’s not a lie. After 3 days I took my car elsewhere.
So after listening to everyone's complaints I guess Kaltire stepped up the service. The customer service rep have been picking up phone. Not only that they are doing a follow up which a company like Kaltire should do always. Happy now:)
Been buying tires for personal and commercial vehicles here for 12 years. I'm sad to say, they've gone downhill bigtime. Placed an order over a month ago to beat the winter rush, they stated they needed two weeks to receive the parts. Went in today after several days of not answering the phone. The order was never placed, and only setup as a quote.
I get that they have a lot of new people. I get that there are supply chain issues. I even understand the need to cut costs from a business perspective. However customer service, and this includes communication is a must. Whether a lack of management oversight for training, or just trying to keep clients from going elsewhere with false statements, it's sad to see.
Solved my problem with fountain tire in gregoire. 4 days to get the parts in and picked up. Excellent customer service and they actually answer the phone.
Been trying to get ahold of them for many days now so I can get a different set of tires for my vehicle for an appointment I already have set, no answer. I'm busy working all day so I have no way of going there.
Does anyone ever answer the phones there? I've been trying to call for a week to get the update on my tires that were ordered. Never get anyone to answer. Super frustrating.
