Kal Tire

I just had a top tier experience with this location. Hit a very large screw in a parking lot up the road and limped the truck in with a tire going flat. The team here hopped right on it, booked me in and had me back on the road in 65 minutes! And that is from the time I called. That is prompt and professional service.

I’ve had great experiences at this Kal Tire location! Their customer service is unmatched, they are always so friendly and helpful - a big shoutout to Kaylee who has assisted me multiple times, and is very professional and knowledgeable. The services offered are affordable and are completed within a timely manner. I’d recommend this Kal Tire branch to all!

Booked an appointment on Monday for Thursday 4: 30 pm. Really friendly when booking your appointment, I showed up on Thursday a at 4: 10 pm to drop the car off then I was told that there’s no booking under my name. I was asked for a proof that I booked it, which they never sent, I asked for my keys back since it was getting too embarrassing at that point. Thank you for wasting my time Kal Tire.

Me and my boyfriend had run into a problem were his windshield wiper had broke as we were driving into the city.all the autobody shops and mechanic shops were closed, we noticed that this kal tire still had their bay doors open, so we stopped by to ask for a favour if they could lend us a hand as we didn’t have the proper tools ourselves to fix it ourselves and they helped us immediately! Even went out of their way to fill our tires with air too! Did it all free of charge but of course we tipped them. Super nice lads.

Very good experience with this shop. I checked prices and ratings on their website before confirming in person. Kaylee was helpful in outlining the options and pricing for different sets. They got me in quickly even though everyone in Edmonton seemed to be swapping tires that day.

I am a repeat customer at KalTire and will be returning in the future. They sell quality tires for a fair price and always have good advice on the best tires for my vehicles and my driving needs. After sales service is not often needed but always the best!

The Kal Tires people are always friendly and helpful. They seem to like their job and I feel like they are happy to help me. Further, they are on time and efficient.

Very helpful and friendly staff. They fixed the issue created by another Kaltire location. I highly recommend this location at 170 Street as Claude is an excellent mechanic.

Their front staff member, Kaylee, was so kind and helpful - even though it’s the busy season and difficult to stay positive and still give amazing service, but she did just that. She helped me order new tires and gave me all the information I needed. Never had a problem here and they are by far my favourite tire shop. They were loaded up with appointments because of the first snowfall and still managed to get my car finished in 2 hours!

Leo and his team at Kal Tire were amazing to deal with. I found a nail in one of my tires the evening prior to leaving on a week long road trip. Leo was able to fit me in first thing morning and had us on the road within the hour.

Excellent back shop and front counter service. Honest and reliable, friendly, and courteous. Replacement parts aren’t ridiculously priced. Definitely one of the better Kal Tire locations I’ve experienced.

Needed 4 tires and called Thursday and got appointment the next day on Friday. Arrived right at the time. Checked in by James and away we went. When vehicle was ready I got a text and returned to pickup. James had invoice ready to go so it was a quick in and out. I have been going to Kaltire on 170th Street Edmonton for a lot of years and will continue going because of the service and staff that work there. Good Job as Usual.

I waited to have my tires done and it only took an hour. Was fast good service. Plus the price was reasonable especially with AMA discount.

Didn't record work scope both when I booked an appointment and when I dropped off the vehicle. Ended up "repairing" a damaged tire that was not roadworthy. I'd recommend going to another location. I've had good luck at other Kal Tire locations.

I was getting some new tires for a car before a road trip but I found out pretty quickly that the type if tires I wanted were impossible to find within my timeline when I started shopping around. Still, Kal Tire got a similar set installed just in time.

Curtis & John (I think was his name) took care of another issue I had when I came back said trip. They were very professional, friendly and very helpful.

I have enjoyed my time at Kal Tire each time I come by. They are professional, timely, respectful and the work is done well.

Staff is always friendly. Better than Canadian tire. Canadian tire took 4 hours to tell me my flat couldn't be repaired. Told me they wouldn't charge anything then charges me for installing the spare tire. Only to find out they didn't even bother filling the tire with air and let me drive off on less than 10 psi in my spare. Don't bother with other stores. Kaltire has always been great.

In and out like clockwork. Even showed my alignment printout saying all within spec. Highly recommend Nokian WRG4 all weather tyres on my 2017 Escape Titanium AWD 2.0 Turbo. 235/50/18s

Not impressed with today's service at the west end location, I was double charged and I questioned it but the young girl kept telling me prices have increased. Thank god I followed my gut instinct and I called another location they told me I was charged double. Not impressed at all, now I have to take the time to go back to get a refund for their mistake. Consumer beware of this location, can only imagine how many other customers were doubled charged.

JOHN and JAMES and CURTIS are great guys to deal with, always leave happy with the service. Literally have the best service experience every time I got to Kal Tire. Mayfield Toyota claimed one of my summers had a hole in them (beyond repair as the mesh was showing) and since it is an AWD vehicle, would have to replace all tires at a cost of +$1600…took the tires to Kal Tire and they fixed it for a small fee - turns out, it was just a small nail? !
Anyways, grateful for Kal Tires honesty. This isn’t the first time they’ve helped me in a pinch. I tell everyone to go to Kal Tire!

Do not go here! They will just throw your tires away and not tell you and expect you to buy new tires. Never do business with these people!

Went there this morning because my tire had a screw in it. The Forman walked over & said it wasn’t repairable. One of the employees walking my tire back to my car said he has no idea why he won’t repair it, my tires perfectly fine. Took it to trail tire & they repaired it no problem.

Horrible service. Waste of time without an appointment. When I went to top up on their free air (in order to get my leaking tire to the next location) they took the chuck inside.

I dropped in at the 170 St location yesterday and after the diagnosis, there wasn’t much time left to fix the problem. So Mr. John advisedly asked us to come in today. We did. Honestly, the service is top rate. My car was fixed and now drives like new. Most importantly, the location is tidy and efficiently run. Thanks John, you are awesome. Top, honest customer service. 3 hour wait to get an oil change with an appointment.

Car finished sometime between the 1: 45 and 3 hour mark. Claimed they tried to call me but was sitting 10 feet away in their waiting room. No call was made.

This Kal Tire location has always been my favourite. Had a minor dispute with my last visit and it was taken care of well beyond my expectation. Thank you for the great service!

Brought my truck with a blown tire wouldn't have gone here but one of my nut was rounded and this was the closest tire shop to me to replace the one lugnut it cost me $100 and 2 and half hours, on top of it all they never returned my original rim with the blown tire when I called they said it might have been stolen and shrugged it off. This is by far the worst experience I've had with such a big company. I'm not going to say don't go to kal tire just don't go to this one.

I went to the honda dealership for a oil change and they told me I needed breaks and new calipers so I took it to Kal Tire and they were actually honest with me and said that I just needed front brakes and everything else was all good. Thanks for being honest

Got a nail in my 1 year old Hakka winter tires purchased from this location. Nail was considered in the "side wall" and therefore made the tire unrepairable. Without any fuss, the associate tells me that they will replace the tire free of charge and waives the installation fee. I was very happy to see them living up to their lifetime warranty guarantee without the need for me to hassle them or raise an issue. This is KalTire standing behind their product. I will definitely come again for my next set of winter tires.

Very poor not following Covid restrictions allowing customers in store without mask saying nothing.three employees in the back not wearing a mask two of which working on my car. I complained to the manager he went out and asked the technicians to put their masks on while working on my car. When the job was Done they put the Summer tires back in my car when I got home two of the tires were flat the only way those tires got flat is by someone letting the air out had to drive back again to have tires refilled. No real legitimate reason was given for my tires being flat.brushed me off

Had a slow leak in my tire. Made an appointment and was about 1 hr, nail in tire. Price was very low to fix. Very good experience.

I arrived in time for apt wheel alignment and was greeted cordially. A new computer program (some $30G worth) actually broke while servicing my truck. I was delayed for only 3/4 hr while things were shifted around and then on my way. Truck in better shape and I think they gave me a slight discount for the inconvenience. I would def go there again as I watched thru the bay windows where servicemen worked quick and efficiently, it appeared that Kal Tire is pro status.

Fantastic customer service combined with skilled, competent workers (not to mention the clean and comfortable waiting area) makes for a very positive seasonal tire swap.
I Highly recommend this specific location.

Atrocious service. Not very apologetic about it either. Left my vehicle with them for a day and they did absolutely nothing to it despite assuring me twice that it would be done that afternoon. I would go absolutely anywhere else. My brother had a similar experience except in his case it was multiple days. Brutal.

Not a bad place.got my tires installed here oct 22 after making an appointment a few days in advance waited for about an hour and a half (longest ive waited before so -1star)

called again today to see if i could use the 30 day no hassle guarantee to get some studded ones since the regular nokians are not cutting it on my RWD sedan, sadly they are out of stock city wide and theres nothing i can do about it, i understand that.however the manager was fairly quick to dismiss me and even though i was using my soft voice and speaking fairly politely, he kept repeating things to me that were very clear and previously understood, as if I didnt speak english or something.felt somewhat demeaning, ill probably use a different location in the future.so that is another -1 star

Since 2005 they have put tires on four of my vehicles. They maintain a level of professionalism and customer care that every business should emulate.

This is one of the best tire service locations in the city. They have excellent customer service and a lot of staff to run through the morning lineup. Unfortunately they are also quite popular and now it can be difficult to get service with a drop in.

Awesome customer service. Professional, fast and excellent service. I booked my vehicle for battery change and I drop at there shop and they did it really quick. Thank you so much management and staffs. I will be back again for change over and oil change. I’m very happy customer. Recommended for everyone.

Had a screw in my sidewall that required the tire to be changed. After installing the new tire in a awd vehicle I noticed a lot of new vibration in the wheel well and steering. Old tires are nokian r2 and and r3 were apparently the direct replacement for them. After two trips getting the tire re balanced trying to figure out where this new vibration was coming from it turns out they forgot to put in a gasket spacer for the wheel which was causing the vibration. I will be taking my car to fountain tire from now on because of the hassle and cost incurred by these "tire experts".

The appropriate thing would be to refund me the cost of a front end inspection and the install cost of 3 new r3 tires, I'm cool with the rubber price for my own peace of mind in an awd car with different tread depths but should be compensated for the install because your "journeymen" don't know how to properly install a tire that requires a "spacing gasket" that was never put in untill two re balancing trips and me buying 3 more tires because of said vibration.

Not a happy customer.

Edit: After getting told on my last visit that the Continuing vibration from the rear passenger side was bad wheel bearings both rear and front on the passenger side and would cost $1500 to replace I wasn't satisfied.

I took it to my local and honest bmw shop "Pug City Euroworks" they informed me the wheel bearings are completely fine and it was.get this, BAD WHEEL BALANCING! After getting them to rebalance and under $100 later I left with a smooth ride again.

Suffice to say even with free tire repairs through Kal tire I will never come back to them since they can't balance a tire after 3 trips.like this is all you guys do and c ant do it right on top of trying to scam me in to a $1500 bearing replacement.

I will be sure to relay this poor experience with anyone I meet that has tire issues.

Great customer service. Purchased new tires and had a flat from hitting a rare pot hole in Edmonton and they charged me only for shipping to replace the tire. Tire came damaged and the whole replacement was complimentary. I thought I would’ve been paying $250 bucks on another tire that I just bought 2 weeks prior.
Awesome people to deal with. I would give 6 stars if I could.

Absolutely amazing customer service at this place. Today was -36 and all four of my tires were deflated. I popped in to Kal Tire on 170th street and asked if someone could help me with inflating my tires. Nice gentleman helped me out right away. He took my car keys and took my car in literally as soon as I walked in. In less then 5 minutes he comes back and tells me that's it's all done. I asked him what did I owe him for the service, he said "nothing" and wished me a good day. I was in absolute awe! It is a little thing but it really made my day! So I just wanted to share this experience and say thank you! I feel absolutely horrible for not asking the name of the gentleman that helped me and I hope that he does know that he was really kind for helping me. I wish more people share their good experiences because there are enough negativity in this world:) thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

What a disappointment. I've been dealing with Kal for years and this is the first time I have felt this way. The short version is took my car in for repairs. Due to some error it took almost a week longer than expected. Not Kals fault as best as I can tell. Finally told it was ready to pickup. Headed down Saturday to do that via a taxi. Paid the tab and left. 6 blocks later loud metal on metal screaming sounds from the side of the car that was fixed. Drove back only to be told they had no idea why it was making that sound. Told them the traction control was also not working. It worked previous to the work being done. Again no answer from the person who served me only to say. Mechanics don't work Saturday. Bring it back Monday. Not that easy to do since I am not that close to the shop. Took another taxi home. Called Monday and after talking to a couple of people finally got someone to understand the problem.

Got a text later that day saying it was now ready. On arrival the person that dealt with me couldn't tell me what caused the problem that forced me to return it Saturday.
He asked the person beside him and that person responded that he didn't know either. I suggested that it should have been test driven before telling me to pick it up. I was told it was driven. Not so sure about that. I only had driven it for 6 blocks before I could hear the problem, with the radio on! So not certain how that was missed.

It looked like I wasn't going to get an explanation so I decided to leave. Where is my car I asked. I don't see it out there. I don't know, I was told. Maybe it's out back. Really?

I was already not happy and that answer really was the final straw. 3 taxi rides, no apologies, no real interest in talking to me. And now you tell me you don't know where my car is? Maybe out back?

Not acceptable at all. It may be time to review your customer service. When you mess up the last thing you should be doing is upset people further.

Edit: I feel it fair to point out that Nick with Kal was not included in my rant. It was two other individuals. Nick went out of his way to make sure I was happy after the fact. Unfortunately I did not get served by him when I came in with the problem. So someone at Kal pat Nick on the back and give him credit for being the quality individual he is.

Called today to see if I could get my tire pressure rebalanced. No wait. No charge. I felt great getting back out on the road in these frigid temperatures. Really appreciate the fast customer service. If I am having any tire issues going forward, Kal Tire will be my first call.

I am extremely happy with the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 winter tires and rims that purchased from this location. Leonides Mateo from Sales and Services was very knowledgeable and helpful in choosing the best tires for my SUV. My parents also bought their winter tires from him. He's your go-to person for the best deals on tires/rims!

Great customer service! I went in for a tire repair & it turned out to be a screw in my tire that had ripped the inside of my tire to shreds so it was beyond repair. They showed me my damaged tire & said I could either buy a new tire or they could put it back on my car & I’d have to keep filling with air & not to drive on the highway/freeway. I got the new tire & they were so friendly & apologized for taking longer than just the repair. I would recommend this Kal Tire location to my friends & family. I will definitely be going there for all my tire needs. Might not be the cheapest place in town but can’t beat the customer service! Thanks again guys for making my car safe.

Bought my winter tires on their website and came in to have them installed at this location. Took over 2 hours for them to mount, balance and install onto my vehicle but it could be worse. They had forgotten to store my tires at first but they caught their mistake as they were reviewing the invoice. There was a new trainee so I understand these things will happen. I just hope they don't lose my tires being stored!

On the return visit for re-torquing, I was greeted almost immediately by a friendly voice. Had the service & air refill done right away in a semi-busy environment. There are objects lying around and I even saw an elderly lady fall so watch where you step.

Suggestion is to check what the customer has paid for thoroughly. Otherwise we might doubt everything else you've said you did. And also keep objects away from walk-ways to avoid problems.

Called Kal Tire 2 weeks ago when I was off shift to purchase winter tires and rims and set up the appointment for the next rotation home. I spent at least 20 minutes with them on the phone going over make and model of vehicle etc.etc.and what I should get for compatible snow tires and rims.

After spending 10 minutes in an empty line waiting to get checked in for the appointment that was booked, I waited a further hour to an hour and fifteen for my vehicle to be pulled into the shop. 15 or so minutes later I was informed that not only were the wrong size wheels ordered, they weren't even in stock, AND the tires that were ordered were a different size than the rims that were ordered. By the time they put my summer set back on the car, I had wasted 2 hours of my day. One of two I have off in two weeks.

I don't understand how a place like this can check somebody into an appointment and allow them to wait hours without even verifying that the correct product arrived for the installation. I've used Kal for a long time but after this I'll be looking elsewere.

EDIT. Kal made it right. Managment reached out and an agreement was arrived at.

I thought they did a really good job on my 19 year old camry. Replaced front tires, belts, plugs, wires, sway bar kit, sway bushings, oil change/filter, throttle body intake and fuel injection cleaning.
I realize that’s a lot of work for an old car but now it runs as good as new at a pretty fair price compared to other shops.
I was quoted $189 per tire at a competitor and paid $140 here. I keep coming back because they always treat me well.

Called in to this location asking to go ahead with a quote I got from the Ellerslie location. Their west location is closer to my office. They said it should be no problem and looked it all up and said they needed to ship the tires from Chicago. It would take a few weeks and it would cost me extra for shipping. I declined. I called the location I originally got the quote from, and they looked, and said they could get them from their other locations in Alberta no problem and they can schedule an install in 5 days.

Wheel alignment lasted maybe two months. Nothing was torqued correctly and loosened up within 60 days.

Well I called in a week and a half to get my tires changed from all season to my winter lady was so helpful I asked if they did oil changes and store ties oh yes I said great I was told my appt was at 8: 00 I said great well I arrived about 10 min before my 8 o'clock appt and was advised my appt was at 9 I explained I was told 8 no it is 9 did I have my confirmation number I said ot was at home then Matt who said he was the manager came out well they would get it in at 8 like he was doing me the favour after a few words I said well maybe I should take my tires you may loose them he claims I said it three times at which time he said yes we might loose them I said j will take them.so I go sit down to wait and he asked me to come over to show me his employee made a mistake I have met a more condensing person but kal tire is the only game in town but I am sure there are others out there that apologize and dont make
Their customers feel like they are in the wrong would I recommend that place to anyone I speak with oh yes and let them know find a place that respects their customers.

Boyfriend got his tires changed here and they made up a bunch of problems that we're not even there before just to get more money.

Reply to owner: obviously you do because they said his tie rods needed to be replaced when they don't we had them checked again.don't worry we will take our business elsewhere and tell everyone we know to as well and trust we know alot of people also I have removed you down to one star.

Just got Nokian hakkapeliitta 9's with studs installed on my wife's car. Nick and the entire crew at the 170th St location were absolutely amazing and incredibly helpful. Her car was done early and it even came in a few dollars below my budget which was much appreciated! I deal with clients day and day out and customer service is key to a good business and customer retention, KalTire on 170th has what it takes to keep me coming back in the future 100%. Kal Tire has my business for life. Every store I've dealt with has been full of nothing but amazing customer service from start to finish. Not to mention their tire warranties and policies as well. I would never suggest buying tires anywhere else.

I have been going to this location for more years than I can remember and have always received excellent service. Today, went beyond that exceptional service that I have become accustomed to. My family is getting ready to go on vacation with our RV trailer but one our rims was damage to the point I had to order a new rim from the states as no one here in Edmonton or Canada for that matter had one. The task was to get the tire on the damage rim switched over to the new rim. Not a big task or costly one for that matter, but it takes time. The plan was to drop off the tires as my wife was going to work and pick up 2 days later as I did not have the time to get back to the store before they closed. Matt Plant and his team was able to rush the tire in immediately and send her on way in less than 10 minutes. Their exceptional service saved me an hour and half of drive time to come in to pick the tire up and return home. I realize that no company can accomplish such a task all the time but I know Kal Tire has done this for me and others in the past and they deserve a big thank you as they recognize the busy lives we all live.
