Kal Tire

First and last time coming here for an oil change. I made an appointment for noon and told them I would wait for my vehicle to be done. I get there for my appointment and they say the mechanic is out for lunch and will be back at 1230pm. That already annoys me but then the mechanic doesn't return until 1pm! Who does that? !
Anyway, there's way too many other businesses in Airdrie that do oil changes so I won't return here or recommend it to anyone.

We came home from vacation only to discover a hole/leak in one of our tires literally driving home from the airport. With a recent snow fall I didn’t expect that Kal Tire would be able to help us as I know they are crazy busy but to my pleasant surprise the friendly staff over the phone immediately was willing to help us out and get us in right away.
Not only did they get our winters on quickly, they also fixed the repair on the leaky all season tire free of cost, granted they said it was very small and slow- I still appreciated this so much especially since it was all so last minute.
They saved me a lot of hassle and stress for the coming week! Would definitely recommend

Can't keep thier own appt times. Very disorganized and the counter staff appear struggle with both scheduling and service.

Arrived for a Friday 4 pm appt for seasonal swap of mounted tires and was told they didn't know when they'd be done but the 2pm appts were going out around 6pm. I took my tires and mounted them myself. I booked an allignment for the following Wed 7: 30am (first appt). Arrived at 725, checked in and was told the allignment guy didn't even start until 8. Waited until 8: 15am, the car hadn't moved so I left.

I've been going here for several years. Never again.

UPDATE. They found the tires and rims the next day. It took 23 hours from our appt time to get the service complete.

TLDR: Store your tires here at your own risk. This is the 3rd set of tires and rims this shop has lost on my family. 30 min service take 90 min to 3 hours and may not even get done.

Dropped my aunts car off at 245 for a 3pm appt. They said to expect maximum 90 min which is a long time to do a tire on rim swap with tires that they have in storage) At 5pm they called to say they were confused about what tires were to go on, the tires they had for us are smaller (they are for another of our vehicles) any way, they said it would be another 15 to 20 min.
We head over and we can hear the employees talking about not having the right tires.

After a while they finally talk to us, tell us that they don't have our tires. We make them look again, but no. We look at all the invoices on their system for us and they don't have the invoice from the day we did our tire swap. We left at 545.
They are suppose to call back tomorrow, tried to call them back at 559 since we found the bank statement that shows the day we had the swap and storage fees were paid but the phones were already switched to the emergency line.

Quick and prompt service with short notice as I did not have appointment. Friendly managers and staff.

Don’t get an oil change here. They charge WAY more than typical, and weren’t up front about the price ahead of time. Tires, sure, fine. But they’ll soak you on an oil change, especially for a small car.

My battery had died. I had no appointment but I was able to get in right away. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was inviting and friendly. What a great crew of guys.

They didn’t even work on my truck!
Called in late tuesday, and was told if I dropped the truck off early morning the next day they would have tires swapped out by 4-430.
Showed up at 430 and the truck had not even moved. They did say they stay until the work is done, but no time was provided. If I knew it was not guaranteed to be done I would have gone else where. WASTE OF TIME!

Dryden was very helpful and got my vehicle done quickly and efficiently. He is so awesome!

Really frustrating. I had my brakes replaced in December and was experiencing a shimmy in my steering. I was told that my back brakes were bad the drums all of it had to be replaced to the tune of 2k. This caused me to really feel weird about what they were saying so I took it for a second opinion. My back brakes were fine but needed adjustment it was my front brakes that needed attention they even found my park brake lines had been cut. So had I gone with kal tire I would have replaced a bunch of stuff I didn’t need to just to then need my front brakes replaced which they mentioned nothing about. Such a poor service experience.

*I see your response to everyone is to email. I think you should email this info off. I think it’s a really poor reply just to show you did. Real results real change is obviously needed in your shop

Unreasonable prices for small issues that other local tire shops are happy to fix without any charge! Do not recomend.

Went for an oil change and asked if they could check out a engine light. Would not have done so if I knew that charged 50$ for this. While it's my fault for assuming, I have never had any mechanic charge for this, ever. Most car part places are happy to do it as well. They do not top up your fluids either.

Updating review: 5 months later this location has screwed me yet again. Thanks for only including 18/20 spline lug nuts for my summers when you gave them back. Class act.

Prebooked for a new set of 4 winters online. Showed up and was greeted very friendly. Gave some extra instructions to the front guy and he wrote down everything and the guys in the back followed it. My first issue was having to ask for my spline lugs and socket back as my winters use different lug nuts. Guys in the back couldn't be bothered to put them back in the car. I'm glad I checked for that before leaving.

Went to drive back to Calgary and boy did my car have a shake on the highway. Never had that before. Called and the guys up front asked me to come back immediately as they must have been balanced wrong. Came back and they were "rebalanced perfectly" but the tires still had a shake. I ended up having my normal shop rebalance them again as they still weren't right. How? How does a tire shop not know how to balance tires?

I chose KalTire Airdrie to buy new Winter tires and have them installed. I ordered online, and the total was $1000.90. I booked an appointment for Friday at 3: 30pm, but they sent me a text saying it was actually at 2: 00. I arrived at 2.00 and handed over my SUV. They initially told me everything would be done at 3.30, but I didn't get my vehicle back until 5.45pm. It's okay; I understand it was a busy day.

The best part came next: I went to the front desk to pay the charges. The cashier (or CSR) told me the total was $1550.35. I showed her my online order, which was for $1000.90. She was confused and asked a technician about the mismatch. He told me the additional charges were for wheel balancing. But it was only supposed to be $150. I asked why the total was $1550.35, but they had no clue. They said they had accidentally installed the wrong tire size and would have to change them again. The front desk lady kindly made another appointment for me.

I went home and checked my new tires but found they were the same size and brand I had ordered. The item numbers were the same. The next day, I called Kaltire and complained about this. Mr. Kxxxx answered and told me there was nothing wrong and that I didn't need to come back to have the tires changed again.

They tried to cheat me by charging $1550.35 instead of $1000.90+$150.00.

To conclude, the new tires are perfect and work well in these icy conditions, but the service at kalTire Airdrie is not good. They try to cheat you sneakily. I have no trust at all in them. This is the FIRST and LAST time I will use their services. I have all the receipts and call information. If kalTire needs to contact me, I am open to it. But I will never buy from or get service from your company again.

I just got my winter tires swapped out, and while there was an issue getting it done, I have to say the Elijah was quick to get the problem resolved without hesitation. I understand sometimes mistakes happen, but these guys were quick to get it resolved more than satisfactorily. My winter tires feel great, I look forward to tackling winter this year. I have no hesitation in recommending Kal Tire, but I highly recommend the Airdrie store in particular. Top notch service.

*UPDATE* I went to my next appointment and the power outage pushed out all the appointments further into the weekend. Again an unfortunate scenario but this time the manager took it upon himself to make sure my situation was well taken care of. He ensured my appointment was rescheduled for both cars in a timely fashion and that all parts were available for a smooth experience. He also offered a discount for all the inconvenience caused during the last 2 visits. Turned out to be a very good experience this time around. **OLD REVIEW** I went in this past weekend to get my tires swapped over to a winter set. Had placed an order for new rims and tires (all in stock) over a week ago. Showed up for my appointment, checked in with the front desk staff. They took the keys and said it'll take about 1.5 hours as anticipated. I waited for 1.5 hours and then the mechanic showed up with my keys and a piece of paper telling me that the rims have not even arrived from Edmonton. They never checked in to let me know and made me sit for the whole time and didn't bother letting me know a much sooner or before my appointment that I couldn't get that done. Told me to reschedule for this week. Not sure if the rims are still going to arrive in time for my appointment. I understand that this is that busy time of the year but that doesn't mean you do not take accountability for screwing up orders. First time at this location and already feeling a sour taste. Will update if it gets any better after my appointment this week.

They broke the key for my lock nuts and threw away my good tires!

I came in to have the tires swapped over on my car; I have two sets of tires and one set of rims. I have brought my car here for a couple of years for tires without any problems.

My car is equipped with lock nuts, and I provided the key for the wheels to be removed. The technician put the key on an air gun, and the key shattered at the first use. The keys are meant to be used ONLY by hand! They did not offer to replace the broken key, and said I was on my own for the key. Fortunately, my dealership has a master key.

I went to pick up the car since no work was done, to find that my replacement tires were not in the car. After chatting with the guys in the foyer, I found out the tires were thrown away. Albeit, this was probably an accident as this was during tire swap season. Regardless, the technician spent an hour digging through the garbage to find my four near-new tires. They should take more care to note which tires are garbage and which are not!

They told me I would have been charged for an hour of work if they were able to remove the bolts, even with the broken key. Ironically, the quote from my dealership to change the tires was cheaper. Needless to say I will not be returning to Kal Tire.

Employees were nice and happy to help. Overall, just seems like bad work practices. Shop lobby was clean and organized.

These guys are amazing. I went in with sensors going wild in my car because of the drastic temperature change. They explained the process. Filled my tires to winter temperature levels and problem solved. Thank you so much. Winter tires needed soon and guess where I'm going? Lol

They bent my rims.
Went back a second time in December and they curbed a rim on the driver's side on my other car.

Tried to talk to customer service but they refused to deal with either.

Front staff is amazing and so friendly. The mechanics are not so great. Had to get my rear brake pads replaced and a few days later my dashboard was lit up! Turns out they had to bleed the line again, was very low on brake fluid AND there was a bolt loose. Will never feel safe taking my vehicle there again! Will pay someone else to check my tires if needed even though this is a free service they offer.

The staff were amazing. I called late on a Friday and they still fixed my tire without hesitation. Amazing service from the entire team.

Terrible place. Called for alignment four days ago. Unprofessional young man on the phone who hung up on me.called back and was told. “bring your car vehicle in this Saturday. However it’s first come first serve” okay that’s not a problem I can leave the car. Show up to drop it off and be told ooh we don’t preform alignments cause the tech isn’t in weekends. Excuse me? What a waste. Go somewhere else. Have always used Kaltire will not use this location again

Another great experience at Kal Tire! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent service, and quick turnaround. We took our car for a nail in the tire this week and they were very helpful, we’ll definitely be going there for our next set of tires!

Personally never been here but my partner takes her vehicles here and they treat her above and beyond every single time!

Have my full trust that they will always take care of her and do the right thing!

After 3 separate visits 2 Cdn. Tire 2 have a tire repaired unsuccessfully I went 2 Kal Tire. They were curious & put me in on a very busy day. Adam gave exceptional customer service. 5 stars would reccomend.

Honestly I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The service here is amazing. The work they do is great. And if for some reason there is an issue with the tires, they always stay accountable and take care of it. Jason has been an amazing help and I’m really grateful to have all my tire needs taken care of at this Kal Tire location!

My husbands a mechanic and was away when my battery on my truck went. He told me to bring it to Kal Tire and so I did. The thing is they over charged me and my husband said he thought it was because I’m a woman. I called in and did a survey asking for the manager to contact me and he never bothered calling me back. Well for sure now we will never use this or any Kal Tire again! Disgusting! Over charged me by about $100. Beware!

Best customer service experience I’ve had in a long long time. Friendly and helpful from the moment I phoned to when they handed me my keys. This location is my new go-to for everything tires.

Amazing service. Got a flat tire, on moving day of course, brought it to the shop with less than 30 minutes before they close, and they were the best. Fixed it and had us back on the road in under 20 minutes. Totally saved the day, and reminded us that there are good people out there! Would highly highly recommend!

Without giving permission, Kal Tire is sending me advertisements via text messages. I shared my personal information so that they can contact me about my vehicle while it is in service, Kal Tire uses my information to make revenue. This unethical behavior has lost a recurring customer and I implore everyone to avoid this company.

The staff at Kal tire in Airdrie is the best! I have been going her for years and they always get the job done quickly. On top of that, they always do a great job mounting and balancing the tires. Can't say enough good things about this location.

Got exceptional service on December 19th/2020. Got me in and out in about an hour for two tires that needed repairs. Fantastic!

The staff were friendly and efficient. We had a screw stuck into the side wall of a tire which was in danger of a blowout. They took good care of us.

This used to be the best place in airdrie. But recently I brought my truck in for some front end work and they botched it so bad that it cupped all 4 of my new tires, ruined my front end and they still couldn't figure out how to balance my tired or do an alignment. When I called them to ask what they were gonna do.they didn't care. Honestly guys being your vehicle to a different place and avoid the mess.

Bonus points for making a warranty issue so argument free as I went in there expecting just that. Costco was listing absolutely absurd cop outs to get away from a claim on the tires I bought from them. Michelin customer service sent me to Kal. There were great to deal with and super friendly about it all. Cooper gave one of the best customer service interactions I’ve had in years. Kudos to him. Had to have new tires on before a road trip. Got me in and out quickly and back on the road.

Absolutely fantastic! After struggling with a dealership on two visits, the team at Kal Tire Airdrie nailed it. My alignment had been off and they got it bang on! Initially my appointment got postponed because of another lengthy repair, I got slotted in first thing the next day. Above and beyond. Snow tires, trailer tires and alignment. Kal tire Airdrie is my go to. Thanks fellas!

WOW, the service has certainly changed at this location from a few years ago. I have not been here for a few years but use to deal with this location all the time.

Recently I had my vehicle booked in for an alignment. When I went to drop my vehicle off I was treated arrongantly and the staff including the manager had no time for me. After checking in, the experience put me off so much I didn't even feel comfortable leaving my vehicle with them. I left without even unloading my vehicle, and took it somewhere else. No one even called me back from Kal Tire or asked why I didn't leave it.because they don't care!

I called Mike's Auto Haus and they had more then enough time to treat me with respect and listen to me. I have to wait for an appointment but I would rather give my business to someone who cares about it then be treated poorly while you are charging me money for something.

I will definitely never come back or recommend this place to any one. Wish they had Clayton running the store still, he knew how to treat customers.

Just went in and ordered another set of tires to be installed on Wednesday. Super quick as they looked up my vehicle history and printed off my bill from 5 years ago and ordered the same Michelin tires. Great price compared to all they competition.

I’ve had great service at other locations but we stopped here for a torque and it was lacklustre. First the guy told us he couldn’t help us because I didn’t have my locknut though it’s a standard locknut I’d bought there. Once we convinced him to help, he torqued the bolts half-heartedly. We came back 5 minutes later asking him to check his job since a tire sounded ‘off’. It was 10 minutes to closing. He told us he didn’t have time to help and was closing shop. Long story short: unmotivated and unhelpful. Find another location if you can.

I could tell the store was busy because I was on hold for a while. But when they answered the phone they treated me very good. Great customer service. I have never been treated so good at a tire shop before. You guys of earn my business for the future.

Unless you have an appointment don't bother. I tried to get a flat tire fixed and I was told that I would have to leave the vehicle and they would get to it by 6. I can't afford a cab (have to fix a flat tire) and as it's a week day, no one can pick me up. I ran over to Fountain tire who had the tire fixed in an hour! Sorry Kal but I will never darken your door again.

I had an out of province vehicle I needed to have inspected and I was on a tight timeline. Since the tires on the truck I bought were 35 inches and there was minor rubbing, no one would safety it without getting smaller tires. I called Kal Tire and they stated they would help me out. I told them that I just needed tires for the inspection but had intent to buy some big old KO2s afterwards. Given my circumstances they ordered me some tires for the inspection and went above and beyond to get them to me despite a minor delivery hiccup. After my out of province inspection passed I re-attended with my truck and they had the new KO2s on my truck before the week was done. They also price matched without question. Adam was my point of contact and was super helpful, friendly, and kept me in the loop whenever I called for an update. I know these guys are super busy and under those circumstances you would expect customer service to decline. That wasn't my experience with Adam. I will definitely be coming back to this location. Had my car booked for a tire rotation, they missed moving the appointment when I called, but still managed to squeeze me in. But forgot to run a test so now have to rebook.

Great service.highly recommended! Had ongoing issue after having a wheel alignment done twice in 4 weeks at a shop in Calgary. The fellows at Kal Tire found the problem was a bent rim! Thanks to Adam for fitting me in short notice!
